Florence was amazing with our cat Derek! Derek immediately took to Florence, and Florence took really good care of him. We were sent updates and pictures which helped put our mind at ease while we were away. Derek clearly enjoyed all the fuss and attention! We will definitely book again.

About: I have been around animals all my life, having had dogs and cats, as well as hamsters. I look after my sister's dog when I can, she is a yellow Labrador. This also includes house-sitting at their house in London. I also sometimes look after my aunt and uncle's dogs (Labradors and a Sheep Dog) at their house in the Lake District. I have been a member of Borrow my Doggy in the past to help look after dogs or take them for walks. I use Trusted House Sitters for when I want to go further away from home and have stayed at homes with multiple animals including dogs, cats and sheep. I don’t have any pets of my own at the moment due to accommodating limitations, but I plan on getting them when I am able to. Some of the pets I have looked after recently: - Bozo: he was a gentle giant and I miss him very much, I only knew him as an older dog but he was always up for a walk and would communicate when he'd had enough. - Winnie: an energetic young lab, loves walks and playing fetch. I've looked after her both in the Cotswolds and in London. - Juniper: a loving black lab, she's so affectionate and is always climbing on my lap. Not a huge fan of the rain which doesn't help when she lives in the Lake District! But she's always the first in the sea when at the beach. - Polly: an older girl who is more of a cat to be honest, she loves spreading out in the sun or in front of the fireplace. She's not as active as she used to be so prefers being left at home for longer walks, but will have a good run around the garden. - Willow: a French Bulldog. I spent three weeks looking after her while her owners were abroad. She’s the sweetest pup and was crazy for a tennis ball. We went on many adventures and walks around the countryside. I work in Education and am also a student. I am often up early in the morning and would love to fit in some visits around work. I have flexible working and work from home benefits so I can work from your home with plenty of breaks, or do a half day at home and half at work. My weekends and evenings are mostly free so plenty of time then too. I am unable to take pets in my accommodation so am not able to host. However for owner’s homes I am always respectful of property, I clean up after myself and bring minimal belongings. I like clear instructions/guidance on what each pet needs and will always follow these.

I contacted Atlanta for drop-in visits to care for our puppies, and I couldn’t be happier with her service. From the very first interaction, she was prompt and professional, taking the time to visit our home beforehand to meet my family and the puppies. Atlanta’s nurturing personality and genuine love for animals really shines through. She’s incredibly thorough in following instructions to care for our puppies, which gave me peace of mind knowing they were in great hands. We’ve now booked weekly drop-ins, and the puppies absolutely adore her! It’s clear that Atlanta is dedicated to providing the best care possible. We trust her completely to look after our puppies while we’re at work. If you’re looking for a compassionate and trustworthy animal lover to care for your pets, look no further—Atlanta is the one! Thank you, Atlanta, for all that you do!

About: I’ve had dogs since I was 7 years old. I bought my own dog in 2022 at the age of 20 and she’s my best friend. I’ve fully trained her and look after her everyday. I absolutely love animals and would love to help owners look after theirs too! I am a self-employed counsellor for children and young people, specifically for parental separation and divorce. Outside of client sessions, I would love to be there for support you with pet care. I have a fenced garden and a small dog to keep yours company. She’s very friendly and is always wanting to play. About: I have had years of experience helping family and friends out with their pets. I would always jump at the chance to look after any dogs & cats if the opportunity was given to me. Weekends, I’m free all day and night to take care of your pets, go for walks, check ins or even over night stays within your homes. I’m currently working full time, however I’m flexible to work within the evenings Monday- Friday to do evening walks or check ins or over night stays. During walks I respect the owners wishes, so I'm happy to keep them on lead if someone isn't confident about them being let off, and if I do let dogs off it's only in an open but secure park / grass area. When taking care of your loving pets, I will always take lots of pictures and videos to give owners daily updates on how they're settling in and what they might have been up to that day - Dogs they've been socialising with, walks they've had and any other updates in general.

About: I've had three dogs and three cats over the course of my life, so for me a family doesn't feel complete without a pet 😌. As a teenager I have taken care of dogs and I am very fond of those memories, it would be wonderful to make some new ones! I work for myself as a photographer and am studying part-time at the open university so both of these occupations allow me to be quite flexible. I will always treat every pet as if it were my own. Toilet breaks, feeding times and cuddles are priorities but of course any special care requirements for your pet are also a top priority.

About: For any dog owners that know me, I am their go to dog sitter. They know their dogs will have an amazing time and be in capable hands. I work nights, I am home by 7.10am, I take the dogs out for an hour, then I go to sleep (dogs usually sleep with me as they’re tired from the walk). I wake up in the afternoon and take the dogs out again. My girlfriend, Ria works part time so she is home a lot. Your dogs wouldn’t be alone very often, if at all. We take multiple bookings from different owners at the same time, so it is likely that your pet won’t be the only pet under our care at one time. For this reason, you must pre-warn us if your dog has aggressive tendencies. I have a gated back garden, I am knowledgeable in dog behaviours, so I can tell if your pup needs to be removed from a situation. I have experience with nervous dogs and reactive dogs, and little yappers.

About: Hello! My name is Inna. I recently moved to the UK and would love to spend more time with dogs again. I’ve had several dogs in the past — two wonderful Rottweilers, a playful Pug, and a sweet French Bulldog. They were all part of my life and my heart. At the moment, I don’t have my own dog, but I really miss the daily joy and energy they bring. That’s why I’m here on Rover — to walk, play, and care for your furry friends as if they were my own. I live in a quiet, comfortable home with a safe garden, perfect for dogs to relax and feel secure. I enjoy taking dogs on calm walks, giving them attention, cuddles, and playtime. I’m reliable, calm, and responsible — and I understand how important it is to know your pet is in good hands. Whether your dog needs a short walk, a friendly daytime companion, or a warm home for the night — I’ll be happy to help! 🐶💕 Pet care fits naturally into my daily life. I currently have a flexible schedule and spend most of my time at home. I'm available for walks and drop-in visits in the mornings, afternoons, and early evenings. I offer flexible pet care depending on your needs: – I can visit your home to feed, check on, or spend time with your pet. – I'm happy to take dogs out for walks in parks or quiet streets. – I can also host small or calm dogs in my home if you're away on holiday.

Alex has been excellent from start to finish. A pre-start appointment was arranged so that paperwork could be completed. Plus the details of where food was kept and the location of my cat’s feeding station. Alex is a genuinely warm and caring person who loves cats. He communicated with me during my vacation and sent pictures of my cat to reassure me. I would have no hesitation in recommending him, 100%

Yes, absolutely! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Preston pet parents with similar pet households.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Preston choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
