“We went away for a week and were worried about our furry friend, Teddy. He seemed to be very happy to play with Louise and appreciated her company. She had done a great job. We will definitely contact her when we go away again ?”

“Florence was amazing with our cat Derek! Derek immediately took to Florence, and Florence took really good care of him. We were sent updates and pictures which helped put our mind at ease while we were away. Derek clearly enjoyed all the fuss and attention! We will definitely book again.”

“Marie has been so good with our little pup Ralph. Despite him being so giddy and not believing in personal space (😁) she was amazing with him. She popped in on him a couple of times for us while we were out all day at a wedding, to let him out for a wee, to feed him and to play and give him cuddles and belly rubs. She’s a lovely person and will love your pet like her own. Thanks so much Marie, Ralph loved you popping in on him. We will definitely be rebooking soon! Thank you ❤️”

“Jessica has been brilliant! So lovely on the meet and greet. She’s been really adaptable if we’ve changed things with Pennys needs as she is a puppy and great communication. Penny loves her and we know she is well looked after. Will definitely keep our bookings.”

About: I have been around animals all my life, having had dogs and cats, as well as hamsters. I look after my sister's dog when I can, she is a yellow Labrador. This also includes house-sitting at their house in London. I also sometimes look after my aunt and uncle's dogs (Labradors and a Sheep Dog) at their house in the Lake District. I have been a member of Borrow my Doggy in the past to help look after dogs or take them for walks. I use Trusted House Sitters for when I want to go further away from home and have stayed at homes with multiple animals including dogs, cats and sheep. I don’t have any pets of my own at the moment due to accommodating limitations, but I plan on getting them when I am able to. Some of the pets I have looked after recently: - Bozo: he was a gentle giant and I miss him very much, I only knew him as an older dog but he was always up for a walk and would communicate when he'd had enough. - Winnie: an energetic young lab, loves walks and playing fetch. I've looked after her both in the Cotswolds and in London. - Juniper: a loving black lab, she's so affectionate and is always climbing on my lap. Not a huge fan of the rain which doesn't help when she lives in the Lake District! But she's always the first in the sea when at the beach. - Polly: an older girl who is more of a cat to be honest, she loves spreading out in the sun or in front of the fireplace. She's not as active as she used to be so prefers being left at home for longer walks, but will have a good run around the garden. - Willow: a French Bulldog. I spent three weeks looking after her while her owners were abroad. She’s the sweetest pup and was crazy for a tennis ball. We went on many adventures and walks around the countryside. I am a mature student completing my research degree and have plenty of time to fit pets into my routine. I’m always up early and I have my own car so am able to travel, and I am happy to take dogs in my car too. I am unable to take pets in my accommodation so am not able to host. However for owner’s homes I am always respectful of property, I clean up after myself and bring minimal belongings. I prefer clear instructions/guidance on what each pet needs and will always follow these.
“I contacted Atlanta for drop-in visits to care for our puppies, and I couldn’t be happier with her service. From the very first interaction, she was prompt and professional, taking the time to visit our home beforehand to meet my family and the puppies. Atlanta’s nurturing personality and genuine love for animals really shines through. She’s incredibly thorough in following instructions to care for our puppies, which gave me peace of mind knowing they were in great hands. We’ve now booked weekly drop-ins, and the puppies absolutely adore her! It’s clear that Atlanta is dedicated to providing the best care possible. We trust her completely to look after our puppies while we’re at work. If you’re looking for a compassionate and trustworthy animal lover to care for your pets, look no further—Atlanta is the one! Thank you, Atlanta, for all that you do!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and have always been the one in the family who takes care of them. I raised two Labradors, Maisy and Maude, a mum and daughter, and was even there when Maude was born. I’ve recently moved out and don’t live with dogs anymore, which is why I’m here. I miss being around them and want to help people who need a reliable, easygoing sitter or walker. I’m calm, patient, and happy to follow whatever routine works best for your dog. I treat every dog with the same care I’d want for my own. I work full-time, but I’m home on Mondays and Fridays, which makes those days perfect for dog sitting while I work remotely. I’m also free most evenings during the week for walks, and I have good availability on weekends for both walking and sitting. Pet care fits in naturally around my schedule, and I really enjoy having that time with dogs—it doesn’t feel like a chore, it’s something I genuinely look forward to. At the owner’s home, I follow their routine and make sure the dog feels comfortable and cared for. At my secure apartment, I take dogs out regularly for walks and breaks, keeping things calm and safe indoors.
About: I have had pets all my life and have always taken them on adventures, I am extremely confident in handling dogs of all natures and like to show positive reinforcement of good behaviours through care and attention. In my spare time I run long distances so taking dogs outside on long walks is not an issue and I would love to be able to do this for dogs of all ages and requirements. I have a lot of energy so dogs will be kept entertained and well looked after. Happy to provide any care as required. I’m currently a Shift Operations Manager in manufacturing but work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern so have a lot of free time in which I like to use taking my dog out for walks, running, exercising and generally being outdoors! My own dog is hand stripped at home by my partner so is well groomed and very well cared for. I have a gated and fenced garden in which the dog can roam. Any dogs in my home are free to enter all rooms. We do have an extremely friendly wire hair fox terrier who loves having friends round to play with. In others homes all due care and attention will be taken to provide the care and love any dog needs. Owners will be kept informed of the dogs wellbeing and behaviour along with any activities.

“This was our 3rd time using Rebecca & as always she was brilliant. Sent us daily updates of our little guy & put our mind at rest that he was okay whilst we were away. Couldn’t recommend more. Thanks again!!”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats since I was 15. I had experience with diverse breeds. I worked as veterinary assitant in a local clinic. I can take care of basic medical needs during my visits or hosting your lovely dogs. I am currently working part time. I have planty of time to play with your pets. For dogs, I enjoy long morning walks and tennis ball exercises in the mornings. I can provide shorter afternoon walks and long evenings plays. I prefer to care your fur baby in their own place, but I can also host them in my home if needed. I have little fenced garden.

“Caitlin cared for our cat for 16 days and looked after our home with total reliability. When an emergency required twice-daily visits, she stepped up without hesitation. Calm, punctual, and truly dependable. We 100% recommend her and will always go back to her.”

About: Hi! My name is Tegan, I am 20 years old and major cat lover (as well as all animals, big & small)! I have owned cats since I was 5 years old, an older kitty which I miss very much and I have helped raise 3 kittens with my mum in my old home (my oldest is currently 10 and my two sibling babies are almost 2!). Me and my partner have recently rescued a 3 month old little tabby girl called Twiggles! I have experience in looking after all ages of cats including the elderly, I miss my sweet Cuddles so much so I’d love to look after another older cat. Although I love fussing over fur babies, I respect their boundaries if shy. <3 I am currently working full time in the Aerospace industry with a somewhat flexible working schedule. I work Monday-Friday usually 7:30-15:30, however I can slightly adjust this when needed! On the weekend I should have complete flexibility! I will attend to 100% of your pets needs! I am respectful of your property and will cater to any requests💗 Please let me know about your pets dietary restrictions and needs when booking so I can be sure to provide the correct care! For my own kitty, she’s always got dry food and has fresh wet food 3/4 times a day as well as daily fresh cold water which gets changed frequently on hot days! I also use a lovely cooling mat for her in the summer so she’s never too hot. She’s an indoor cat so I am used to their silly antics when trying to wiggles themselves out😅

About: I’ve had dogs since I was 7 years old. I bought my own dog in 2022 at the age of 20 and she’s my best friend. I’ve fully trained her and look after her everyday. I absolutely love animals and would love to help owners look after theirs too! I am a self-employed counsellor for children and young people, specifically for parental separation and divorce. Outside of client sessions, I would love to be there for support you with pet care. I have a fenced garden and a small dog to keep yours company. She’s very friendly and is always wanting to play. I have a crate if necessary and plenty of toys.

About: I offer calm, attentive care with a strong focus on keeping pets comfortable and following their normal routine as closely as possible. I work from home, so I’m around for most of the day and night. This means pets get plenty of company, regular toilet breaks, close supervision and more individual attention than they might receive in a busier environment. I also keep numbers low and prefer caring for one household at a time. I have experience caring for senior dogs, including pets with reduced mobility, slower walking needs and more structured routines. I’m happy to adapt walks, feeding, rest periods and general care around older pets rather than expecting every dog to keep the same pace. I’m also comfortable with puppies and younger dogs, including frequent toilet breaks, feeding schedules, play, basic routine reinforcement and the extra supervision that comes with younger pets. I don’t claim to be a professional dog trainer, but I’m happy to consistently follow the owner’s existing commands and training routine. I can also help with: - Medication where clear instructions are provided - Senior and lower-mobility pets - Puppies and young dogs - Nervous or unsettled pets that benefit from a quieter environment - Feeding and dietary routines - Regular photo and message updates - Cat care and multi-pet households - House sitting and maintaining the pet’s usual home routine My approach is simple: low numbers, plenty of company and care tailored to the individual pet rather than a one-size-fits-all routine. I work from home and am around for most of the day and night, so pet care fits naturally into my routine. This allows me to provide regular feeding, toilet breaks, walks, play, companionship and supervision without pets being left alone for long periods. I keep bookings deliberately manageable so I can give each pet proper attention rather than taking on too many at once. I’m also happy to follow established routines for feeding, medication, walks, sleep and rest times. I keep the environment calm, clean and secure, with care adapted to the individual pet. I prefer low numbers and, where possible, pets from one household at a time so they receive more individual attention. Before a first booking I like to understand the pet’s normal routine, temperament, feeding, medical needs, behaviour around other animals and anything that may cause stress. I follow owner instructions closely and provide regular updates so you know how your pet is settling. In an owner’s home, I respect the property and aim to keep everything as close to the pet’s normal routine as possible.

I love taking care of all kinds of pets and making sure they feel happy and safe. I can fit pet care into my daily routine and dedicate time for walks, feeding, play, and cuddles. I make sure pets get consistent attention, exercise, and love. I make sure every pet stays safe and comfortable in your home. I follow all instructions carefully and provide a clean, secure, and loving environment.

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Preston
Lori did a wonderful job of looking after our cat Audrey. Audrey was very chilled and content when we returned home. The cat litter was clean and Audrey had been well fed and watered. Lori went above and beyond also watering our garden during a heatwave and taking in parcels for us. We would highly recommend Lori and will be using her again for our future holidays if she is available.

Personally I wouldn’t choose anybody other than Atlanta to look after our cat, Along with feeding her Atlanta make a fuss of her and her gives her plenty of TLC, she sends pictures each time she visits. Thank you so much Atlanta, you have a friend for life in Pudding
Alex has been excellent from start to finish. A pre-start appointment was arranged so that paperwork could be completed. Plus the details of where food was kept and the location of my cat’s feeding station. Alex is a genuinely warm and caring person who loves cats. He communicated with me during my vacation and sent pictures of my cat to reassure me. I would have no hesitation in recommending him, 100%
Debbie & Andrew did a great job looking after our 2 cats. They are both usually quite shy but they really took to them and were out playing and having tickles. It was really nice to get daily pictures and also a little paragraph about how they were and what they had done. Would highly reccommend adn definately use again
Kept me updated when visited and also sent pictures. As I have a shy kitten Georgina was very patient with her and kept me updated on how she was doing as I was worried a out leaving her. Would definately recommend and came back to 2 very happy, excited and purring kittens.

Highly recommended friendly very professional looking after our cat. They took daily pictures and provided daily updates. We will always want them to look after our cat smokey when we are away. They understand pets and their needs as rizwana & her husband have pets too. They took care of smokey like he was their own thank you so much.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
