Before our trip, we arranged a meet and greet, and Teddy and Benji felt comfortable in their home and with both of them straight away. From that moment, I knew they would be in good hands and had no worries or concerns about leaving them. Throughout our holiday, Scarlett kept us updated with plenty of photos and messages, which was so reassuring and lovely to receive. About: I have been around animals all my life, having had dogs and cats, as well as hamsters. I look after my sister's dog when I can, she is a yellow Labrador. This also includes house-sitting at their house in London. I also sometimes look after my aunt and uncle's dogs (Labradors and a Sheep Dog) at their house in the Lake District. I have been a member of Borrow my Doggy in the past to help look after dogs or take them for walks. I use Trusted House Sitters for when I want to go further away from home and have stayed at homes with multiple animals including dogs, cats and sheep. I don’t have any pets of my own at the moment due to accommodating limitations, but I plan on getting them when I am able to. Some of the pets I have looked after recently: - Bozo: he was a gentle giant and I miss him very much, I only knew him as an older dog but he was always up for a walk and would communicate when he'd had enough. - Winnie: an energetic young lab, loves walks and playing fetch. I've looked after her both in the Cotswolds and in London. - Juniper: a loving black lab, she's so affectionate and is always climbing on my lap. Not a huge fan of the rain which doesn't help when she lives in the Lake District! But she's always the first in the sea when at the beach. - Polly: an older girl who is more of a cat to be honest, she loves spreading out in the sun or in front of the fireplace. She's not as active as she used to be so prefers being left at home for longer walks, but will have a good run around the garden. - Willow: a French Bulldog. I spent three weeks looking after her while her owners were abroad. She’s the sweetest pup and was crazy for a tennis ball. We went on many adventures and walks around the countryside. I am a mature student completing my research degree and have plenty of time to fit pets into my routine. I’m always up early and I have my own car so am able to travel, and I am happy to take dogs in my car too. I am unable to take pets in my accommodation so am not able to host. However for owner’s homes I am always respectful of property, I clean up after myself and bring minimal belongings. I prefer clear instructions/guidance on what each pet needs and will always follow these.

“Amy did a great job looking after my cat Sparky. She communicated regularly, sent great pictures and some action shots and I felt reassured that Sparky was happy and being well looked after while I was away. ”

“Caitlin looked after our cat lacey for 7 day's while we was on holiday she did an amazing job lacey was fed cleaned up and played with she took lots of photos and videos lacey looked very happy 😊”

About: I am a training veterinary student with a lifelong passion for dogs and hands-on experience caring for them in a variety of settings. Growing up with dogs has given me a strong understanding of their behaviour, daily care needs, and the importance of patience and consistency when handling animals. Over the years, neighbours and family friends have regularly relied on me to visit, walk, feed, and care for their dogs while they were away, which has helped me develop responsibility, trustworthiness, and confidence working independently with animals. I have also cared for young puppies, including feeding, socialising, cleaning, and monitoring their wellbeing, which has strengthened my understanding of early development and animal welfare. Through both my personal experience and veterinary training, I have developed skills in animal handling, communication, observation, recognising signs of stress or illness, and providing attentive, compassionate care.

“It took a lot for me to trust a stranger with my dog, but after a meet and greet I was happy to trust Marie and after just one week I’ve noticed a difference in my dog he’s a lot calmer and happier. Marie takes her time with my dog and treats him as if he was her own.”

I have a spare bedroom that includes a crate so we can create a safe space for your dog if needed. I have a field close by and if your dog is not great with recall we have long leads available so they can get the exercise they need. With guidance from you, I would be happy to help with training and socialising your dog to keep them in a routine as much as possible.

About: Home-from-home dog care in Preston with plenty of company, individual attention and your dog’s normal routine kept familiar. I work from home, so dogs are rarely left alone, with walks, feeding, play and rest all tailored around what they’re used to. I work a rotating shift pattern which gives me plenty of free time and several full days off at a time. I can plan my availability well in advance and fit walks, feeding, drop-in visits and pet sitting around your pet’s normal routine. I’m happy to follow established feeding, walking and medication schedules and will always discuss your pet’s routine with you beforehand. Your pet’s safety and comfort come first. I follow the owner’s instructions carefully, keep doors and gates secure, use leads as requested and pay attention to anything that could cause a problem during walks or visits. When caring for a pet in their own home, I treat the property respectfully, keep everything secure and leave it as I found it. I’ll also keep you updated so you know how your pet is getting on.

About: I've been caring for dogs for nearly 4 years, and I really enjoy it! I have experience with beagles (anyone who's owned one understands they're a bit unique, which makes it fun) and also with dogs that get anxious when left alone. I love helping them feel safe and loved. I'm currently enjoying my summer break as a university student, which means I have plenty of free time most days, including weekends and evenings. I have experience caring for multiple dogs, including larger breeds that require extra attention. I am DBS-checked, ensuring your dog(s) will be in safe and responsible hands. You can trust that I will give your pets the dedicated care and attention they deserve, whether it's daily walks, playtime, or administering any special care they might need.
About: I am a Bioveterinary Science student at the University of Lancashire. I have had pets my whole life (cats, dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits) & have lots of experience with cat-sitting. I even have my own cat (who I take on walks 🤣 I know I sound crazy but he enjoys it). I have also done some dog-sitting, and love taking them for long walks! I am currently balancing university (only 2 days a week) & a part-time jobs on fridays & the weekend. I tend to do one visit in the morning (usually between 8am-10am) and then in the evening (6pm-10pm). In previous pet-sits, I would only allow the cat out of the house in the morning and then it would let itself back in (using a cat flap) in the afternoon, which would lock behind it so that he was definitely there when I did my evening visit. Another cat is not allowed outside when I do my visits (due to lack of cat flap), but he doesn’t mind so much. I am very happy to adjust to any arrangements that may be needed to ensure the safety of your little pet!

About: I have always loved animals and I have experience taking care of dogs and cats. I am a very caring, patient and responsible person. I treat every pet with love and attention, as if they were my own. I am comfortable with feeding, walking and playing, and I always make sure they feel safe and happy. I am reliable and I truly enjoy spending time with animals. I am currently studying English, which gives me flexibility during the day. I have time to take care of dogs and cats, including walks, feeding and companionship. I am available on weekdays and weekends, and I will always make sure your pet gets attention, care and love. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable and well cared for. I follow the owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding routines, walks and any special needs. I am calm, responsible and attentive, and I treat every pet with love and respect. I always prioritize their safety and well-being.

About: I’m a final year student of engineering and since I was young I have had pets at home, so I have plenty of experience. One of the things I like the most is to go out for long walks during my free time, so I would love to be given the responsibility of taking care of a dog and to bring him with me at all time. I am really good at time management so I might always be able to find suitable time slots to take care of your dog when necessary. My flat is dog friendly. I live with other two students who are animal lovers. So the dog will be with people at every moment.

“Scarlett and her partner looked after our two dogs, Teddy and Benji, while we were away on holiday, and we couldn't have been happier with the care they provided. It was clear that Teddy and Benji were having a fantastic time and were being well cared for. Thank you both for taking such wonderful care of them. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend you and would happily book again in the future!”

“I highly recommend Jessica and Lewis who looked after our German Shepherd and Border Collie. We were sent updates including pictures and videos and were reassured throughout. Bryn and Milo had a lovely time, many thanks.”

“My Storm went for a sleep over as an extended meet and greet to see if Tracy and her were a match.. I could tell instantly that Storm was comfortable. I got photos and updates.. and when Storm was dropped off she was happy.. and as soon as Tracy's back was turned Storm jumped back into her car.. although I wasnt impressed that Storm was happy to go back off with Tracy it gave me comfort that she had clearly given her the care and love that she receives at home... have already rebooked for a longer stay.. I just hope I get a better greeting off Storm after my trip. Thank you, 🐾”

A few days before the boarding, we scheduled a meet and greet so they could get to know Zola’s daily routine and habits, and so Zola could become familiar with her surroundings. “It was the first time we had ever left Roxy overnight. We were really worried about leaving her at all. However we were greatly impressed with the young couple who looked after her. They went above and beyond to make Roxy feel at home and cared for her exceptionally well, sending us regular pup dates on how she was. They have a great set up and large garden, and are close to a large country park for walking and adventures. We both are very fussy people but we would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a high standard of care for their dog. We have already booked with them again, as we know Roxy will be well cared for.”

“Matt was excellent and very professional which put my mind at ease leaving my little boy. We got regular updates and pictures so we knew he was settled. My dog can be nervous and sometimes likes his ‘me’ time which Matt understood and allowed him to do his own thing. Definitely will rebook and recommend.”
