“We went away for 2 weeks and knowing our cats did not want to put them in a cattery, with Caley as a cat sitter it was absolutely the right decision. The meet and greet first gave me such confidence that she knew what she was doing and that continued with pictures and messages that proved she was getting to know our cats (we have 4 so not always easy) and that they liked and bonded with her. One in particular spooks easily but Caley made the effort and when she came to return the keys he was the first to say hello which after only 2 weeks contact was very telling. 1000% would recommend Caley to anyone, she went out of her way to clean the cat bowls and water the plants among a number of other touches I had not considered to ask for. An exceptional find I will definitely contact again.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and have always been the one in the family who takes care of them. I raised two Labradors, Maisy and Maude, a mum and daughter, and was even there when Maude was born. I’ve recently moved out and don’t live with dogs anymore, which is why I’m here. I miss being around them and want to help people who need a reliable, easygoing sitter or walker. I’m calm, patient, and happy to follow whatever routine works best for your dog. I treat every dog with the same care I’d want for my own. I work full-time, but I’m home on Mondays and Fridays, which makes those days perfect for dog sitting while I work remotely. I’m also free most evenings during the week for walks, and I have good availability on weekends for both walking and sitting. Pet care fits in naturally around my schedule, and I really enjoy having that time with dogs—it doesn’t feel like a chore, it’s something I genuinely look forward to. At the owner’s home, I follow their routine and make sure the dog feels comfortable and cared for. At my secure apartment, I take dogs out regularly for walks and breaks, keeping things calm and safe indoors.
“She was absolutely amazing with our cats. She is very kind, reliable, and clearly loves animals. I always feel completely at ease knowing they are in such good hands, and they were happy and well cared for when we got back.”

About: My girlfriend and I have had family pets since we can remember, we love looking after dogs and have always been the go to for family and friends as we have our own house with a spacious fenced garden for them to run around. We would love our own dog but due to work commitments during the week it wouldn’t be fair so that’s why we have decided to give our love to other dogs until we are in a better position to get our own. We can do Friday and weekend bookings. We don’t have any children or other pets so when we look after other dogs we treat them like our own and they have all of our attention while they are staying with us. We have looked after all ages from puppies to mature dogs. We don’t smoke and love going on walks, especially on the beach. Dogs staying with us are apart of the home and are allowed all over the house and on furniture if the owner is okay for them to do so. Your pet will be very well looked after and made at home as soon as they step through the door. I currently finish work at lunch time on Fridays so we can take bookings for Friday from then I finish at 13:30 and live 5 mins away so can be anytime after that, Saturday all day and night and then Sunday daytime and into the evening. We can look after a dog from Friday until Sunday or anything in between. We have a fenced garden for them to roam, the space is all theirs as we don’t have any children or other pets. 100% of our attention will be given to pets while in our care whether it’s for a few hours or overnight.
“Jodie has cat sat for us twice now, and I have nothing but good things to say about her. From the first meeting she put us at ease and Spike took to her immediately, which he does not do with just anyone. Jodie is the sweetest and most caring sitter, and I was thrilled to see that she was available on this occasion. The amount of updates, information and care which she provides is wonderful. I struggle with leaving Spike alone, even when I am at work for only a few hours, but I know he is safe and cared for with Jodie. I never worried after the very first day that she visited him. I know that Jodie is wonderful with our cat, but also from the way she talks about her dog, Pablo, you can immediately see she is an animal lover and will care for any pet like they are her own. Spike scoffs his food very quickly and is sometimes sick because of this, but Jodie told us and dealt with it without issue, even trying giving his food in stages which worked brilliantly. The litter box was clean as a whistle, his water fountain was topped up, he was well fed and given treats too. If you don't know who to choose out of pet sitters in your area and come across Jodie's profile, choose her. She is amazing. Thank you so much! x”

About: I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a passion for providing the best care to all pets. I had my dog for almost 13 years and prior to that, we would dog sit for family friends going away. I have recently adopted an older rescue cat on lifelong medication. With my profession I am comfortable with caring for all kinds of pets including reptiles and rodents. I also have experience medicating a myriad of species so would be happy to assist with this if your pet(s) require anything throughout the day. Growing up I've volunteered and worked at a number of different kennels and catteries local to me and I have since been volunteering at a cat sanctuary for almost three years and love spending my free time with animals. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
