“Lesley was great with Koda and I wouldn't hesitate to book and leave him again. Koda felt at home on our visit and I had no worries when leaving him. Lesley kept me updated throughout his stay and sent photos. I would highly recommend.”

“Would put more stars if we could ❤️ Alex and Chris looked after our pride and joy, 11 month old border collie just like we knew they would. Jota has had a great time, lots of pictures of him enjoying himself. We were immediately put at ease by a lovely couple and we did not worry once about if he would be well looked after because we knew he would. Lots of questions asked so they knew him and the family and they treated him like their own. Would highly recommend and Jota will be a frequent visitor in the future. Thank you 😊 for caring so much about him x”

“Aaliyah and Aaron looked after our dog for the weekend. We have never left him with anybody before. We were very nervous about leaving him, as he is like a baby to us, but we need not have been worried as they sent updates and photo's which was very reassuring, they looked after him really well. He settled in well and seemed very happy. I would highly recommend, I have already booked again for another holiday.”

“We left our beloved dog Blue for the first time ever with Walter and Angela. They were brilliant from start to finish. We felt instantly reassured that Blue was in good hands. He is an older dog with particular needs and they managed them with great care and easy. We had regular updates from them too.Plus their own dog Bonnie is a very friendly gorgeous dog with a wonderful temperament. I would highly recommend them. Thank you both!”

“It was the first time we had ever left Roxy overnight. We were really worried about leaving her at all. However we were greatly impressed with the young couple who looked after her. They went above and beyond to make Roxy feel at home and cared for her exceptionally well, sending us regular pup dates on how she was. They have a great set up and large garden, and are close to a large country park for walking and adventures. We both are very fussy people but we would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a high standard of care for their dog. We have already booked with them again, as we know Roxy will be well cared for.”

“Thank you Vivian and your husband for taking such good care of my two cats. You gave me daily updates right on time, spent extra time playing with them and even looked after one of them who has some respiratory issues with great attention. You were friendly, polite, and very thoughtful. I’ll definitely come back to you next time I need cat boarding!”
“Harry was excellent! -helped me out last minute -communication was easy and responses were quick -felt safe and comfortable dropping my dog off and ossy was in good health and good spirits when I collected him. Would recommend highly and would book again! Thank you Harry!!”

“Albus was calm and comfortable staying with Inna. She is wonderful and caring, with lots of love and attention to give to Albus. Thank for making him feel at home, he is very much looking forward to his next visit.”

“Boris loves his home away from home, he's treated like a king! Thank you Shirley, we are planning a summer holiday soon, so will get booked in with you, so Boris can enjoy his holiday with you again!”

“Olivia was wonderful. The pictures she took of Rowan about the house and when walking completely reassured us, and on our return Rowan looked to have had as good a break as we did. Thanks!”

“Fabiola looked after whisky for 11days whilst we were away. We got daily updates and photos and whisky had the time of his life. Highly recommended dog sitter, will definitely use fabiola again in the future”

“Laura and her family looked after our Poochon Sonny for 2 nights. Laura was very welcoming on initial communication and when we dropped Sonny, their home seemed very homely and I felt totally comfortable Sonny would be loved and cared for. We got pic updates throughout- will definitely use again - Thankyou x”

About: I am a working from home dog mum to my Italian greyhound Cleo, with my schedule I have plenty of time in the day to take out your dog for lovely long walks and play time. Your dog will be treated as my own, with love, protection and care and will never be left alone. My house is clean , cosy and secure and Cleo would love a little companion in the day. Experienced owning small dog breeds and happy to look after your lively pup or older souls 🐶💜 I only board 1 dog at a time so they will have plenty of my care and attention during their stay with me 🐾 I work from home and have split days so I am available for a few hours every day to take your dog out with us on lovely walks and play dates. I like to take my own dog to open places away from cars and busy roads so she can enjoy a run but happy to also do lead walks if that is better suited to your pup. I am also available on weekends. I have a secured fenced and walled garden for your dog to enjoy ☺️ Your dog is free to sit and snooze on my sofa as they please or to have their own space if preferred.

“My Storm went for a sleep over as an extended meet and greet to see if Tracy and her were a match.. I could tell instantly that Storm was comfortable. I got photos and updates.. and when Storm was dropped off she was happy.. and as soon as Tracy's back was turned Storm jumped back into her car.. although I wasnt impressed that Storm was happy to go back off with Tracy it gave me comfort that she had clearly given her the care and love that she receives at home... have already rebooked for a longer stay.. I just hope I get a better greeting off Storm after my trip. Thank you, 🐾”

“Sarah was brilliant with my dog who is quite anxious and fussy! My dog had the best adventures and so much attention that I don’t think he missed us. I loved seeing the pictures of what they were getting up to and we were able to relax knowing he was well cared for. Thank you so much Sarah”

Absolutely made up with finding Lesley and her husband to look after Annie for us. Brilliant service and Annie was so settled in their home. We loved the photos and updates over the weekend of how Annie was. Will be our go-to if they have availability. Thank you again! Xx

I was so nervous to leave my furbabys while I went on holiday. But from start to Finnish Karen and Cole eased my mind. We had a little visit first. Then when we dropped them off they made themselves at home straight away. I was kept updated with pictures and messages. The furbabys had the best holiday going out for long walks and to the beach. I would definitely use them again. Thankyou so much 😘 xx

Jess and her family did a truly fantastic job looking after our dog. The pic updates were wonderful - great to see him so relaxed and happy. I’m pretty sure he was sulking/missing them in the days after we picked him up!🤣 Thank you so much. We’ll definitely be back 😁

We couldn't of wished for a better place for our little Bailey to stay. He is a king charles cavalier who is only just 9 months old and very clingy so we were anxious about leaving him for the first time. Mark and Natalie were both amazing right from the start. Bailey settled into their family home no problem. We were sent daily photos and message updates of how he was getting on with his new little pals 🐶🐾🐕 They cooked their own fresh food for him every day which he loved. They took exceptionally good care of him especially in the latest heatwave. We couldn't be more happy we have found Mark and Natalie for Bailey and have already booked them again for our next holiday 😊

Maddie and Alex boarded our ten month old Doberman puppy again last weekend so we could attend a wedding. When Roxy arrived at their house her tail began to wag and she was eager to get into the house, and play with them both. She was happy to see them knowing she would be looked after. She went on lots of long walks in the countryside and was very well cared for. I am fussy who we leave Roxy with, but would highly recommend this young couple to look after your pet. They are knowledgeable about dogs and go out of their way to accommodate your requirements. Again would highly recommend. Thanks again from Julie and Mike.

Amy sent regular updates and photos. She was also honest about Poppy shaking when she first arrived (she often does this) Amy reassured us she had wrapped Poppy in a blanket and had snuggles on the sofa which stopped her shaking. Poppy was made to feel safe and comfortable and included in Amy’s family home. We would highly recommend Amy.
Sian was incredible, so accommodating and my little jack has fallen in love with her. He came back tail wagging, better behaved and nice and sleepy. Sian kept me regularly updated the entire time to ease the stress of being away from a member of the family. Could not recommend her more, will definitely book again in future.

Chloe was great! As soon as she opened the door, I knew my dog would be in safe hands. She kept in touch with me for the full stay - keeping me updated and sending me pictures. She treated my dog as though she was her own dog - Even gave her a bath! My dog came home very tired - which is always a good sign! Our new favourite sitter and will definitely be using again if we are welcome. Thankyou so much 😊xx

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
