“Lesley provided a wonderful three night stay for our cockapoo Ruby. She took time to find out about her routine and preferences and was obviously very experienced in caring for dogs. She was really welcoming and friendly with Ruby. The house and garden were really dog friendly. Lesley provided us with regular updates and photos and Ruby was happy and relaxed when we picked her up. No hesitation in recommending Lesley.”

“Would put more stars if we could ❤️ Alex and Chris looked after our pride and joy, 11 month old border collie just like we knew they would. Jota has had a great time, lots of pictures of him enjoying himself. We were immediately put at ease by a lovely couple and we did not worry once about if he would be well looked after because we knew he would. Lots of questions asked so they knew him and the family and they treated him like their own. Would highly recommend and Jota will be a frequent visitor in the future. Thank you 😊 for caring so much about him x”

“I highly recommend Jessica and Lewis who looked after our German Shepherd and Border Collie. We were sent updates including pictures and videos and were reassured throughout. Bryn and Milo had a lovely time, many thanks.”

“We left our beloved dog Blue for the first time ever with Walter and Angela. They were brilliant from start to finish. We felt instantly reassured that Blue was in good hands. He is an older dog with particular needs and they managed them with great care and easy. We had regular updates from them too.Plus their own dog Bonnie is a very friendly gorgeous dog with a wonderful temperament. I would highly recommend them. Thank you both!”

“My Storm went for a sleep over as an extended meet and greet to see if Tracy and her were a match.. I could tell instantly that Storm was comfortable. I got photos and updates.. and when Storm was dropped off she was happy.. and as soon as Tracy's back was turned Storm jumped back into her car.. although I wasnt impressed that Storm was happy to go back off with Tracy it gave me comfort that she had clearly given her the care and love that she receives at home... have already rebooked for a longer stay.. I just hope I get a better greeting off Storm after my trip. Thank you, 🐾”

“Wow what can I say. Angelika was so helpful from start to finish, Silva has never stayed with anyone else before and has had the best week, he's actually fuming we have now picked him up. He's been loved and looked after , walked , played with we have had regular contact and photos daily, we have all loved seeing his updates each day. Thankyou for everything we will be on touch very soon to book his next stay with you. ❤️”

About: I've had dogs for the past 10 years and genuinely love everything about them. I'm currently training my 6 month old cockapoo, which includes gun dog training. I have 2 young dog savvy children and a husband who also loves dogs. We have a large garden and live in an area with lovely countryside walks. I also work from home most of the week. I work from home 3 days per week and I am always home on a weekend. I can look after your pups on a Monday, Thursday, Friday and I can do weekend boarding. I can also pop in and check on your pups during the days I work from home and on weekends. I have a large garden and lots of lovely walks near my house, I have a 6 month old cockapoo puppy that is very friendly and absolutely loves other dogs. I also have 2 dog savvy children who would be happy to play with another pup! I live with my husband who is amazing with dogs and is currently taking our dog to training classes and a gun dog training class. We have plenty of space to look after another dog in our home.
“Aaliyah looked after Dylan for a couple of days whilst we got married and she was just amazing. Kept us updated with photos and reassured that he was happy (and being very much spoilt)! Thanks so much Aaliyah x”

“Scarlett looked after Wrigley perfectly. Sent updates and pictures of how he was doing and he settled in quickly. Would absolutely trust her to take care of him again in the future!”

“Harry and his partner looked after Lenny for nearly two weeks, and I couldn't have asked for better carers. They kept me updated throughout his stay with regular messages and photos, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. It was obvious from the updates that they genuinely care about animal welfare and treat every dog as if it were their own. Their home is spacious and welcoming, and it's surrounded by plenty of outdoor space for walks, which Lenny clearly enjoyed. From the photos, it was easy to see he was having a great time exploring. When I collected Lenny, he looked happy, relaxed, and in excellent health, which says everything about the level of care he received :-) I wouldn't hesitate to leave Lenny with Harry again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring dog sitters.”

“I was terrified of sending my rescue cat for boarding as he had never been away from his home in the 7 years he has been with me. He is an indoors-outdoors cat who has access to his cat flap at any time. Very shy with humans and friendly to other cats. And not used to be kept indoors. Vivian’s cat room is perfect, with a large bay window, shelves for the cat to climb upon, corners to hide if nervous and plenty of space to roam around. Vivian did an amazing job with my cat, being very patient to give him confidence and feel comfortable in the new surroundings and with new people. She gave him plenty of cuddles and reassurance throughout the stay. And monitored his food and drink intake as well as his litter use. Vivian also introduced him to their really sweet and cute kitten to give him a playmate. Vivian kept me updated throughout with pictures, videos and reported on his progress. I could not have dreamt of a better place and better couple to keep my cat safe, happy and comfortable during my absence. I would not hesitate to recommend Vivian’s services for boarding and will happily use again when required in future.”

“From the very start we knew Lola was going to be well looked after by Alex and Madeline. She took to them immediately and it seemed the feeling was mutual. They were super thorough in every way, including a detailed questionnaire, clarification of all requirements, gave us information and asked us all our preferences. It was clear she was in safe hands. Lola is on meds and that was handled superbly. She clearly had a great time and we were sent updates which were really cute! In all Lola had a great time and we felt completely confident she was in good hands. Will definitely be coming back! Thank you so much Alex and Madeline!”

“Shirley was absolutely wonderful with our dog, Elmo! She took such great care of him and kept us updated throughout his stay, sending us plenty of lovely pictures which really put our minds at ease. It was so nice to see how happy and settled Elmo was. We could tell he was having a great time, and that made us happy too! 😊 We really appreciated Shirley’s care, communication and kindness. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and would happily have her look after Elmo again. Thank you so much, Shirley! 🐾❤️”

“Ula had a lovely time with Sarah. She was looked after from drop off to pick up. It was evident from the onset that Sarah loves dogs very much, and provides a 5-star service. Sarah would undoubtedly be my first choice should Ula require looking after in the future.”

Jessica and Lewis were amazing with our two whippets. Lots of exercise and lots of love was given to my dogs, that I could see on the daily morning and evening updates. When we went to pick them up, after jumping on us, they went back to Jessica and Lewis for cuddles on the sofa and that told me everything I needed to know. I have one dog that isn’t a fan of strangers and she was definitely at ease and relaxed with them which is a testament to the kindness and love they showed her. 💖💖 Their dog Ralph was a wonderful friend to my dogs as well 😊

Mark and Natalie were warm & friendly from the moment we booked. They took excellent care of Maisie and Poppy, our cocker spaniels. We received regular communication re their well being. The girls returned home having had a happy time whilst we were away. We would have no hesitation booking our dogs in with Mark and Natalie in the future or in recommending their service to others. Many thanks for taking great care of M & P. Chris & Sarah

I was so nervous to leave my furbabys while I went on holiday. But from start to Finnish Karen and Cole eased my mind. We had a little visit first. Then when we dropped them off they made themselves at home straight away. I was kept updated with pictures and messages. The furbabys had the best holiday going out for long walks and to the beach. I would definitely use them again. Thankyou so much 😘 xx

Amy sent regular updates and photos. She was also honest about Poppy shaking when she first arrived (she often does this) Amy reassured us she had wrapped Poppy in a blanket and had snuggles on the sofa which stopped her shaking. Poppy was made to feel safe and comfortable and included in Amy’s family home. We would highly recommend Amy.
Sian was incredible, so accommodating and my little jack has fallen in love with her. He came back tail wagging, better behaved and nice and sleepy. Sian kept me regularly updated the entire time to ease the stress of being away from a member of the family. Could not recommend her more, will definitely book again in future.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
