Buster had another amazing stay with Becky and Ed. He knew where he was on arrival and got involved in all the fun with their dogs straight away. He was so disappointed to leave and come home! Thank you so much Becky, Ed and all of your family for looking after Buster so well and for sending photos and updates. We really appreciate it. He's looking forward to his next stay already!

About: I have looked after dogs for friends and family and I would love to have my own, but work commitments unfortunately mean I dont have enough time at home midweek to care for them as I would want to. I have a large garden for them to run around and have fun in. I enjoy being active and getting out on walks, whether local or off to places like the beach. So you can rest assured your dog would get my time and attention, and their favourite walks. I'm available for boarding Friday nights through to Sunday and every other Sunday night. On rare occasions I may be available overnight through the week. I can fit in evening walks most nights of the week When not out on walks I have a large back garden which is fenced for your dog to enjoy. The large utility area which has direct access to the back garden has independently controlled underfloor heating creating a comfortable relaxing area for your dog.

Available for dog walks, drop ins and overnight stays. I currently work flexibly from home 3 days per week and often finish before 4pm. On weekdays I can offer walks or drop ins to suit you and your dogs needs. I do not work weekends so can offer overnight stays Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights as well as walks and drop ins on these days. About: I’ve grown up in a family of dog lovers, caring for furry friends of varied breeds and sizes from a young age. My current little one, Millie, started house-training at 10 weeks old and is now a happy, well-adjusted 8 year old, who loves her daily walks and playtime. I also have plenty of experience with senior dogs, from my dearly missed 15 year old staffy to my current 10 year old chihuahua, Shyla. Caring for dogs has always been a second nature to me & is something I truly love and take pride in. I work fully-remote from home during the week therefore I am always available to tend to pets throughout the day. I am fully available all day for the majority of weekends. I have a medium sized, fenced back garden with enough space for pets to roam and play. I currently have 2 small sociable dogs of my own, I have no concerns with bringing another dog into the home as long as there is an opportunity for them to be introduced and get familiar with each other.

About: I have been an animal lover since I was a child, and have cared for various animals throughout my life. Although I am new to Rover, I have always been the go-to person to care for family and friends pets, and always treat them as my own. I have experience looking after different dog breeds of varying ages with different energy levels, temperaments and particular needs. If I have the opportunity to spend time with dogs I will take it, even on my travels I will visit a dog rescue or care for the stray dogs. I have a Labrador named Daisy who is 13 years old and treat her like my child, so rest assured I know the importance of caring for your pup! I am currently working part-time meaning I have a flexible schedule. I am available Monday mornings and afternoons, Tuesday early mornings and afternoons, Wednesday and Thursday before 9am and after 3pm. Weekends are more flexible as I am off two days and alternate a 4 hour shift on a Friday/Saturday so have plenty of time. I have gates at the front and side of my house and a fenced garden, and live near a park, field, and at the top of a country road so plenty of places for walks! I have a 13 year old Labrador who is very gentle and friendly.

I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter for Willow. I don’t leave her very often, so I was naturally quite anxious, but James put me completely at ease from the start. Willow seemed to feel at home as soon as she walked through the door. James treated her as if she were his own, giving her plenty of love, attention, cuddles and treats throughout her stay. I received lots of photo updates, which was so reassuring, and it was clear from the pictures that she was having the best time. When I collected her, she was so comfortable and settled that she happily carried on playing while I chatted with James about her stay, which says it all really! I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Willow with James again and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring, reliable and genuine dog sitter. Thank you so much for taking such great care of her! 🐾❤️

About: Hi! I'm a genuine dog lover with hands-on experience caring for both my own dog and my family dog. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and needs, so I always take the time to make them feel comfortable and loved while you're away. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playing fetch, or simply relaxing with company, I'll make sure they receive plenty of affection. I have a large, quiet field directly behind my home, which is perfect for safe walks and letting energetic dogs enjoy plenty of space (where appropriate and with your permission). I know how important it is for owners to feel confident that their pet is in good hands. I'll happily follow your dog's usual routine, including feeding schedules and any special instructions to help them feel at home. If your dog is used to sleeping in someone's bedroom or needs extra reassurance at night, I'm more than happy to accommodate this so they feel as comfortable and settled as possible. For house sitting, I'll treat your home with the same care and respect as my own while ensuring your pet receives lots of love throughout my stay. I understand how difficult it can be to leave your pet, so I'll provide regular updates and photos to give you peace of mind while you're away. Although I'm new to Rover, I've spent years caring for dogs through my own pet and my family dog. This has given me practical experience with training, walks, playtime, grooming, and recognising when a dog needs extra attention or reassurance. I work from home Monday-Friday so I can keep your dog company all day and also take care of their needs and walk them before/after work or on a lunch time. I am available most weekends so get in touch to find out my availability. I have a fenced garden and have my own very friendly dog who loves company. He loves to chill out but also likes to run around with other dogs. I am happy to crate your dog or let them sleep wherever is most comfortable for them.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
