About: Having grown up around dogs of all sizes, spending time with pets is one of my greatest hobbies. I specifically have experience around senior dogs having cared for my elderly pugs until they passed on. I can guarantee your dog a safe, caring experience (boarding or walks), with as frequent photo updates as you require. My profile picture is myself and Dug, my fiancé's eldest chihuahua (14yo). We currently don’t have any pets living here either, so hopefully the only concern you may have is that your dog may not want to leave! Happy to work around your dog’s walking, playtime, and behavioural needs. My schedule is extremely flexible closer to the weekends, and every weekday I can dedicate evenings for walks. I can pick up anywhere in the Merseyside & West Lancashire area, which has a marvellous countryside full of walks to be had. The house is situated in a cul de sac away from busy roads, while having a large fenced garden. The town itself is both quiet and safe, resulting in a great environment for your dog to be walked in. For boarding, the house is extremely well laid out and minimally decorated to allow for safe exploration. Your pet can happily jump onto our furniture and sleep on the bed if you would prefer. Dogs can be easily caged if necessary.
“Becky and Edward took great care of Benji while we were on holiday. Benji especially loved playing in the big garden each day with the other dogs. Becky kept us informed of his wellbeing with regular texts and photos. Thanks Becky and Edward.”

“Cooper loves his time with Juisana and the family. He is well looked after like he is their own, and we get lots of pictures and updates throughout his stay. Cooper looks forward to his next stay!”

“We left Ralph with Alba for a week, as she was highly recommended to us by 2 friends who have previously used her. She was absolutely amazing! I can’t recommend Alba enough and I would be using her for all future holidays. Ralph has had the best time and I think he is missing her! We received loads of photos and videos of Ralph which reassured us all of the time! 100% recommend to all as she is fabulous ❤️”

“Daniela is a fabulous dog sitter she had our dog for 4 nights and looked after him brilliantly. We was kept upto date with updates & photos throughout his stay & he looked happy & content. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be using Daniela again in the future 😁”

“Milo loved his stay with Karen, we needed a very last minute booking and Karen was so accommodating and made time to meet with Milo before he stayed. Her home is beautiful with a spacious and secure field for the dogs to enjoy safely. We received regular updates and pictures letting us know how Milo was getting on and it seems he really was made to feel like a member of her family for the weekend. Thank you again so much Karen- we will definitely be making future bookings :)”

“We used Kelly to look after our female frenchie for a week while we went on holiday (Boarding.) Kelly has been great from start to finish. I requested a quick meet before hand which she happily obligated and invited me and Coco to meet her at her home before hand. Kelly was lovely, she has a lovely home and we also got to meet her children who were also lovely. After meeting her I felt very comfortable leaving Coco with her the following day. During our vacation Kelly sent us regular updates and vids of Coco on her walks and having fun. I could see Coco absolutely loved her time with Kelly and the family. I would happily recommend Kelly to everyone and will definitly be using her in the future. Kelly has surpassed my expectations so I would also like to post a big thank you here too. THANK YOU KELLY Paul, Lydiate”

About: I’ve taken care of different breads of dogs from a young age, growing up with both a high energy Labrador retriever and calmer Cookerpoo. Currently living with my partner and our energetic sprocker spaniel, Pepper. We walk pepper atleast twice a day, often in local woodlands and parks as well as playing fetch in our fenced garden. Available for dog walks, drop ins and overnight stays. I currently work flexibly from home 3 days per week and often finish before 4pm. On weekdays I can offer walks or drop ins to suit you and your dogs needs. I do not work weekends so can offer overnight stays Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights as well as walks and drop ins on these days. I will be available to feed, walk and play with your dog anytime during their stay. Any days when I am not at home I will not include in my schedule. I have a securely fenced garden for your dogs to play in and a dog of my own for yours to play with. Our dog is also crate trained so if your dog needs some time to themselves this can be accommodated for.
“Joyce and Steve were brilliant with Ralph. We had an initial meet up in which Ralph was introduced to them and they got to know everything they needed to about him. Throughout his stay I was kept updated and he came home a very tired dog. I will have no hesitation in using them again.”

“I would highly recommend Nicole to look after your pet. Nicole provided lots of pictures and updates and as this was the first time leaving my puppy this provided me with lots of reassurance. Connie loved staying with Nicole and without a doubt I will be asking Nicole to look after Connie again. 🥰”

About: I’ve grown up in a family of dog lovers, caring for furry friends of varied breeds and sizes from a young age. My current little one, Millie, started house-training at 10 weeks old and is now a happy, well-adjusted 8 year old, who loves her daily walks and playtime. I also have plenty of experience with senior dogs, from my dearly missed 15 year old staffy to my current 10 year old chihuahua, Shyla. Caring for dogs has always been a second nature to me & is something I truly love and take pride in. I work fully-remote from home during the week therefore I am always available to tend to pets throughout the day. I am fully available all day for the majority of weekends. I have a medium sized, fenced back garden with enough space for pets to roam and play. I currently have 2 small sociable dogs of my own, I have no concerns with bringing another dog into the home as long as there is an opportunity for them to be introduced and get familiar with each other.
“Catherine is a lovely person and is so caring and knowledgeable about animals. She immediately put us at ease about leaving Oscar for the first time in 2 years. While he stayed with her Catherine sent me regular updates and photos which completely reassured me that he had settled OK. I will happily leave Oscar with Catherine again.”

“I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter for Willow. I don’t leave her very often, so I was naturally quite anxious, but James put me completely at ease from the start. Willow seemed to feel at home as soon as she walked through the door. James treated her as if she were his own, giving her plenty of love, attention, cuddles and treats throughout her stay. I received lots of photo updates, which was so reassuring, and it was clear from the pictures that she was having the best time. When I collected her, she was so comfortable and settled that she happily carried on playing while I chatted with James about her stay, which says it all really! I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Willow with James again and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring, reliable and genuine dog sitter. Thank you so much for taking such great care of her! 🐾❤️”

“Peanut stayed overnight with Ros, he was very well looked after. We picked him up and he was happy and relaxed. Ros is a lovely person and asked all about Peanuts routine, etc. would definitely recommend Ros.”

About: We are a warm, family-of-four household with many years of experience caring for dogs, having recently said goodbye to our beloved Lakeland Terrier of 15 years. She was part of our daily life, so we understand routines, walks, feeding schedules, and individual dog personalities. Our two young daughters have grown up with dogs and are calm, gentle, and respectful around visiting pets. A typical weekday includes a walk first thing in the morning, dropping the children at school, working from home with a lunchtime walk, and then picking the children up, followed by a further walk. Dogs are rarely left alone and are well supervised throughout the day. Weekends are typically spent exploring the outdoors together, followed by relaxing time at home. Family and friends’ dogs, including Labradors, Cockapoos, Pugs, and French Bulldogs, are regular visitors, so dogs enjoy socialization if they wish. Our fully secure back garden is ideal for play and relaxation, providing a safe, comfortable home-from-home where small and medium dogs are treated as part of the family. We are a working family with the flexibility of working from home, which allows us to provide a consistent and attentive environment for the dogs in our care. Whenever we have a dog boarding with us, we ensure that one of us is always at home, so they are never left alone for long periods. Your dog will enjoy plenty of company, supervision and interaction throughout the day, along with regular toilet breaks, playtime and cuddles. We understand how important routine and reassurance are when dogs are away from home, and we do everything we can to make their stay feel safe, relaxed and part of the family. We care for every dog as if they were our own, providing a true home from home within a warm, family living environment. From the moment they arrive, our focus is on helping them feel safe, settled and completely part of the household. Dogs stay with us in our family home — not in kennels — and share our everyday living spaces. They are included in daily life, whether that’s relaxing in the lounge, pottering around the house, or enjoying time in the garden. We take time to understand each dog’s individual routine, preferences and personality so their stay feels familiar and comfortable.
“Very nice people with a warm and loving family . Couldn't of asked for a better experience for my pup. Regular updates and pictures with fast responses to my questions. Highly recommended.”

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
