“Christine is really friendly & recently looked after my Cockapoo Lola. She was well looked after & really happy on collection. She settled in well which was good as she does have a bit of separation anxiety. Would definitely recommend Christine and will use her again.”

“Rachel was fantastic with our Labrador, Gus, for a few nights. She sent lots of updates and photos and he looked like he had the best time ever! Would 100% use again, thank you 🥰”

“Thank you so much Nick and Kerry for looking after Ruby. It was obvious that she had a fantastic time with you and the communication was first class. We really appreciated the photos and videos and made sure we had no worries while we were away. Would give 6 stars if I could and will be booking with you again!”

“Louie was amazing with my little Frenchie, Louie and his lovely family made Lenny part of the family, they kept to lennys sleeping pattern which made lenny more relaxed. I will definitely will be using Louie again.”

“Our Westie Milly (who’s nearly 15), has just spent her 1st week with Sharon. Sharon was not just Milly’s carer, but was like a proper mum to her- ensuring Milly’s routines and requirements were fulfilled. Sharon sent daily messages & photos, which greatly eased our mind! We can’t thank Sharon enough for being so loving, thoughtful, and caring, and also treating her as one of Sharon’s family. Thanks very much- see you in September! Xx”

“Our Frenchie has had as good a time as us on holiday Great communication with Wes, did prior dog walks and stay over to ensure our Frenchie fitted in with Wes’s lovely pair of Frenchies. Wes kept us updated with pictures and allowed us to relax whilst on holiday. Would highly recommend Wes as a dog boarder and will definitely be using Wes again. 🐶”

“I wouldn't hesitate to leave my dog with Bettyna and her family again. They took such good care of her and she settled in really well. So much so she didn't want to come home! Thank you so much for looking after Sky!”

“This was the first time we have been away from 4 year old Gracie, however after the meet and greet we were 110% she would be cared for, spoilt and loved. And so Annabelle gave us regular updates on settling in, and what Gracie had been up to. Although she was super pleased to see us when we picked her up, when Annabelle phoned about Gracie's feeding bowl as we were leaving and came out to us in the car, Gracie's little tail was going like a propeller 🥰. What more could you ask for, other than for Gracie to write the review herself. Anabelle, Thank you so much for loving Gracie as much as we do xxx She obviously had a fabulous time xxx”

“What can I say other than James is brilliant! We had never left Ted with anyone other than family so whilst I was apprehensive, I knew that it was something that we had to do. Ted had a lovely time and James looked after him like he was his own with regular updates and videos. Thanks James, we will be back. ???”

“We would like to thank Mandy from the bottom of our heart for looking after our little Luna who means the world to us. Mandy was like a home away from home and looked after Luna like she would be in her own house.”

“Linus had a great 11 night stay with Justyna. He had obviously been very well looked after and was very happy and settled when I went to collect him. Justyna's house is clean, tidy and secure and she made Linus feel very at home. I highly recommend Justyna to look after your dog.”

“My dog Rocky loved Alba, I knew from when he walked in to the house that he was going to be fine ❤️😊 am so glad I found Alba as now I know I can go away without worrying if my little furry friend is happy. 😊😊xxxxx”

Well we picked Mable up today after her stay with Christine. She was so well looked after and cared for. Christine sent us regular pics and videos of all the adventures they had together. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Mable with Christine again. Many thanks Pat Green

This was the first time we had left our five year old springer spaniel with anyone other than family. As soon as we met Francis during our Meet and Greet session we were immediately put at ease as we could see straight away how comfortable Chester was with him. He stayed with Francis for two nights while we attended a family wedding and we were totally relaxed while we were away as we knew Chester was very happy. Francis sent photos and videos to us and we could see how much Chester was enjoying his stay. We would definitely recommend Francis and will be happy to book with him again.

Jodi looked after our 2 sprocker spaniels, she was so friendly and the dogs took to her straight away. Jodi kept us up to date during the whole stay with plenty of photos and just put us at ease. Really grateful and will definitely leave them with her again. Thank you!

Elaine and Gary are doing a great job in taking care of Jumbo. They are caring to his well being and his needs. Sometimes Jumbo might be naughty but they are super patience. They will share the photos with us every day which gives us a lot of confidence that he is being taking good care of.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
