We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better sitter than Emma. She popped in to our house for three days while we were away for the weekend in Prague, and after recently moving to St Helens and not knowing many people locally yet, we were a bit nervous about leaving our 10-year-old cat daughter, Sasha Fierce. Emma completely put our minds at ease from day one. She followed every instruction perfectly, took lovely photos each visit, and sent a detailed Rover card every day with little updates about how Sasha was doing. It was so reassuring to see those messages come through – you can really tell she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after. Sasha was happy, relaxed, and clearly well looked after when we got home, which says everything. Emma was reliable, thoughtful, and just overall brilliant. We’ll 100% be booking her again when we’re in Cyprus in June. Highly recommend!

About: What sets me apart is my ability to adapt to each pet’s individual needs. I have experience with both young and senior pets, so I’m comfortable reinforcing basic training and routines for puppies, as well as providing gentle, attentive care for older animals, including administering medication if needed. I’m patient, reliable, and always focused on making pets feel safe and comfortable. I also keep owners updated with regular messages and photos, so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. I work night shifts at the hospital as a Health Care Assistant, so I am used to being responsible, reliable, and caring. Pet care fits well into my routine because I am available around my shifts, especially during the day, on some evenings, and on my days off. I have cared for cats most of my life and currently have two kittens myself, so looking after animals is already part of my daily life. I always make sure pets feel safe, calm, and comfortable. I follow the owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding times, litter trays, walks, medication if needed, and house rules. In a pet owner’s home, I respect their space and keep everything clean and secure. I give pets gentle attention, patience, and care, especially if they are shy or nervous.

Aunty G is our furbabies best aunty, she takes them for long walks, plays with them, feeds them and they love her to bits. They are her friends for life, we couldn't wish for a better dog walker because if the dogs are happy we're happy.

About: I grew up with 4 cats and 2 Labradors in my family, this sparked my compassion for animals. I adore playing, training, and most importantly making sure they have everything they need such as enough sleep, the right nutrition, enrichment and exercise! Presently, I am the owner of a Labrador puppy (and a cute elderly hamster)! She is incredibly well behaved, extremely well trained and always happy - this did not go without lots of highs and lows 😂. If you choose me to walk or look after your pet I will not disappoint. I am positive I will be able to give your dog anything it needs. I am able to handle large, strong breeds and I am also experienced with reactive dogs and how to train them. I am currently a postgraduate Student Doctor at the University of Liverpool meaning I have free time when most people are working! I am available intermittently during week days and available most weekends. I have a large fenced garden where my Labrador puppy loves to play and forage for food! She gets an amazing variety of exercise and training including tug of war, fetch, heel and recall work, and lots more enrichment. Our puppy also has specific nap times after a large meal or exercise which hugely helps dog behaviour as well as limiting any problems with digestion.

We have a Boarder Collie which we got just before Covid so he doesent like strangers coming in to the house. We found Michael on Rovers and from the first time he came to our house he knew how to handle Teddy. He came twice to meet Teddy and then we went away for a week. Michael kept us updated with pictures and when he had been fed etc . If you have a dog that’s nervous or anxious I highly recommend Michael he’s excellent your dog will receive 5 star service .

About: I work full-time as a professional dog walker and pet sitter, and caring for animals is something I genuinely love. My experience with dogs began while I was at university, where I regularly walked retired racing greyhounds, giving me valuable experience with different temperaments, energy levels, and individual needs. I pride myself on being reliable, trustworthy, and hardworking, always going the extra mile to provide the highest standard of care for every pet. I understand how important it is for owners to feel confident that their pets are safe, happy, and well looked after while they're away. For added peace of mind, I hold an enhanced DBS check, a Pet First Aid certificate, comprehensive pet care insurance, and a Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Diploma. I am committed to providing a professional, caring, and dependable service, treating every pet as if they were my own. I currently work part-time with early finishes through the week and have both Fridays and Saturdays free to look after your fur babies. I am more than happy for you to enquire about any services not listed and I am flexible as to the care of your animals- I will try my best to fit you in as and when I can always. When visiting your pet in your home, I will always follow the rules and routines we have discussed prior to offer you peace of mind and keep your pet as relaxed and happy as possible whilst you are away. If we are on a particularly long walk or I am minding your dog for a day or more we may visit my home where I have my own dog, providing your dog gets along with others. About: Hi! I’m Zara, and caring for dogs has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember — from childhood through to today. I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and needs, and I truly understand how much love, patience, and attention they deserve. My experience includes: • 🐶 Senior dog care – I grew up with a gentle, elderly Golden Retriever, so I’m familiar with the extra support and calm routine older dogs need. • 🐕 High-energy & timid breeds – I currently help care for our beautiful Hungarian Vizsla rescue, Serbi, who came to us frightened and unsure. In just a few months, he’s blossomed into a playful, affectionate companion, and I’ve loved being part of that journey. • 🐩 Small breed care – I’ve spent the last 13+ years looking after my auntie’s Cocker Spaniels, my dad’s Cavachon (for 4 years), and now my own Cavachon, Benji, who’s 2 years and 3 months old. I also help with my dad’s Cockapoo Biscuit — Benji’s playful best friend who is a similar age with lots of energy! I treat every dog as if they were my own, giving them loving, reliable care tailored to their unique personality and routine. Whether your pup is playful, shy, senior, or just in need of some extra TLC, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and right at home. Let me know how I can help care for your furry family member — I can’t wait to meet them! 🐾❤️ I work from home so I am very flexible. I have full access to my own car with lots of room to transport the doggos to and from walks safely with doggy seat belts. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priority. I offer a loving, secure home environment where your pup will feel like part of the family. I live in a fully secured home that’s dog-friendly, calm, and perfect for both playtime and relaxation. Your dog will also have the company of my two well-behaved, friendly dogs: Benji, my gentle 2-year-old Cavachon, and Serbi, our sweet Hungarian Vizsla rescue. Both are incredibly social and love the company of other dogs, and equally respect other dogs space also. Benji has grown up around his cousins — including Rufus the Vizsla, Jasper the Cavachon, and Biscuit the Cockerpoo — so he’s used to making new doggy friends and loves having playmates around. Serbi has mirrored Benji’s social nature since joining our furry crew and would love the company of some more doggos! Whether your pup is high-energy or a bit more reserved, I always provide a safe, supervised space where they can feel secure and loved. I monitor all interactions closely to ensure everyone gets along well, and I give each dog plenty of individual attention. From cuddles on the sofa to fun in the garden, your pet will be treated with the same care and respect I give my own. I also provide regular photo and video updates so you can relax and enjoy peace of mind knowing your furry friend is in great hands!

About: I've had numerous pets since before I could remember my mum has a habit of taking in strays. From dogs to rabbits, guinea pigs, lizards, snakes, ferrets, fish, mice and even our 98 year old tortoise. I'm pretty good at training puppies and I can do senior care as we had our rottweiler til she was 14 and I helped out loads. I am very nurturing as I have been a carer for my mum and sister and for my nan as well before she passed. Currently I have a lurcher called Jeff and two kittens Dante and Damien. As well as a tegu called friyja and a snake called neala and of course the 98 yr old tortoise chigley I am a carer for my mum but happy to pet sit as long as I can keep in contact with my mum and make sure she's okay. I have a pretty flexible schedule but would appreciate notice of changes. I will always keep an eye on your pet making sure they have food and water and are let out to go to the bathroom enough and also make sure they have a bit of playtime as well and if you have your pets on walking schedules I will assist with that as well.

About: ’ve been around animals my whole life and currently have 4 dogs and 2 cats of my own, so caring for pets is something that comes naturally to me. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine and needs, and I always take the time to make them feel comfortable, safe and loved. What sets me apart is the genuine care and attention I give to every animal. Whether it’s a playful puppy with lots of energy, a senior pet who needs a slower pace and extra patience, or a nervous pet who needs time to build trust, I adapt my care to suit them. I provide regular updates, photos and communication so owners can feel confident that their pets are happy and well looked after. I treat every pet as if they were my own, making sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, playtime and affection while maintaining their usual routines as closely as possible. et care is already a big part of my daily routine as I have 4 dogs and 2 cats of my own. Every day involves feeding, walking, exercising, playing with and caring for them, so looking after animals is something I’m very used to. I plan my schedule carefully to ensure I have plenty of time to give each pet the attention they need, whether that’s walks, playtime, companionship or simply sticking to their normal routine. Because caring for animals is already part of my everyday life, fitting pet sitting into my weekly routine feels natural and enjoyable. I’ve just recently finished college so I have a completely free schedule just for your special pets xx I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable and loved, whether they are staying in my home or I am caring for them in their owner’s home. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Saint Helens choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
