Safety, trust & environment

I want to ensure your pet is safe, well cared for and comforted whilst you're not there. Therefore, I offer meet-and-greet before booking my services so you can ensure your pet is comfortable with me. This also allows me to get additional information regarding your pets needs and routine so I can ensure I provide the care they need. During a home check in I will let your pet have a toilet break, refill/refresh water bowls, fill up food bowl (if required as per dietary requirements) and clean litter trays. I also spend some time stimulating your pet with play and cuddles (if they'd like). I treat every pet as my own and ensure they have everything they need to be happy and safe. During dog walks I will ensure your pet is safe, and aim to walk in quiet local areas. I only offer 1 on 1 dog walks currently (unless from the same household), this enables me to concentrate solely on your dog and ensure they have the enrichment they need. I'll send photos, videos and updates via text/whatsapp whilst I'm with your pet to make sure you are kept updated and have that peace of mind.

Information Emma H. would like to know about your pet

I like to meet your pet before visiting/walking, I think its important they meet me for the first time with you around so they feel comfortable. Before I meet them I would love to know their name, their breed, their age (if they require additional support e.g for senior dogs). When we meet we can discuss the following: For dog walks: If they are microchipped Current medical conditions Any physical limitations Any signs of past aggression Can your dog be let off lead if safe to do so? Do they have good recall? Is your dog anxious or frightened by anything whilst out? Any specific noises? Specific breeds? Traffic? etc. Any specific commands to use whilst we are out? Drop in visits: Current medical conditions Any physical limitations Any signs of past aggression Is your pet anxious or frightened by anything in particular? Any house rules? Are they allowed on the furniture etc.

A typical day

I am very familiar with the Pewfall, Haydock and Garswood areas. Me and Teddy have explored most of what's to explore around here so I know good spots for walking which are safely away from traffic and offer good stimulation for your dog whilst out. When I walk energetic dogs we play fetch with a ball, or sometimes just a stick. I only offer 1 on 1 walks (unless from the same household) currently as I think its important for me to focus on one dog at a time, so I can ensure their needs are fully met and they have a positive experience and are able to bond with me. I always carry water for them and will ensure they have fresh water when they are returned home. If the weather is too hot for a walk I can arrange a drop in visit and ensure they get stimulation whilst keeping cool. During a drop in visit, I let them have a toilet break, check their water and refill/refresh, we play with any toys they have. I like to spend some time doing enrichment activities (I'll only provide treats depending on dietary requirements and with prior agreement with the owner) like sniffing games, find it, which hand? etc. Once they are happily played out I have a cuddle with them (if they are comfortable with that) or just a relaxing stroke before I leave.

Pet care experience

I've always been around dogs and other animals. I grew up with a Staffordshire bull terrier, then continued to have rescue dogs in the family home. I now have a French bulldog x Labrador who is my world. I've spent years caring for family members and friends pets, from dogs and cats to guinea pigs. I have a level 3 diploma in dog walking and pet sitting, I'm also certified in pet first aid and CPR.
