“Winnie had the best time with Rachel, loved the constant updates on her stay. I want to thank you so much for looking after her especially in such high temperatures. She looked like she had a lovely time and if you’ll have her I’m sure she would love to stay with you again :) ❤️”

“Ian was communicative, reassuring, timely with replies and made us feel very comfortable leaving duke with him for the weekend. We got updates on how duke was doing along with photos that really helped us feel at ease that he was happy and comfortable. Thank you again Ian!”

“Rachel looked after Arlo overnight this weekend. She sent plenty of pictures and clearly put lots of time into playing with him and keeping him entertained. Would 100% recommend.”

“I have just been away for the weekend and left my dog Luna with Rhian. From the first message Rhian was excellent at communicating and as it was the first time leaving my dog with her, she arranged a meet and greet. All went well and left me feeling comfortable leaving my dog with her. I received updates throughout the weekend with lots of pictures. It is clear that Rhian loves dogs and enjoys looking after them. I would highly recommend Rhian and will book again in the future. Thank you for looking after Luna as if she was your own x”

“Linus had a great 11 night stay with Justyna. He had obviously been very well looked after and was very happy and settled when I went to collect him. Justyna's house is clean, tidy and secure and she made Linus feel very at home. I highly recommend Justyna to look after your dog.”

“Can’t thank Kerry and Nick for looking after Nala for us. We received regular up dates and my mind was at ease knowing she was settled and having a great time! Wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and recommend them. Thanks so much!”

About: I’ve raised two dogs from puppyhood, so I understand every stage of their development - from house training and boundless puppy energy to the gentler care seniors need. Our family dog is now 13, so I’m experienced with managing age-related conditions (such as heart issues and arthritis) and adjusting activities to each dog’s pace. Whether your dog needs a calm companion at home or a brisk lunchtime walk to burn off energy, I’ll make sure they get the care and attention they need, with lots of love along the way. I work full time from home, so am available as a companion for your dog through the day. I can take them on walks at lunch and/or after work, and can make sure they have frequent access to outside if required. At the weekend, we can extend walk times to suit your dog’s fitness. We are expecting a baby in January 2026, so our availability is reduced from then while we settle in as a family. We have a fenced garden, and many cosy dog beds dotted about the house. We have a stair gate to fence off upstairs if you’re worried about access to stairs, and our downstairs has LVT flooring which is not too slippy (geriatric dog approved!) so they shouldn’t have any difficulty scamping around. We also have a 13-year-old male Pugalier, who loves the company of other dogs. He will be happy to settle down next to them for a snooze, or watch avidly while your dog plays with toys.
“In Portuguese, we have an expression that goes, ‘Whoever kisses my children sweetens my mouth’, and that’s exactly what happened with Paige. Every single day that our Lua spent with her and her family, she was loved and looked after as if she were part of their family. I can only express my gratitude for all the affection and care. Thank you!”

“It was Lola first stay with Jodi and she loved it. Jodi made Lola feel at home from when she arrived to when we picked her up. Lola is a high energy dog and Jodi took her to the dog paddock so she could have a good run off lead. Jodi sent us updates and photos each day while Lola was there. Would highly recommend her services.”

“We were very pleased with the care provided and loved getting the photos of our Labrador whilst boarding. Would definitely recommend and hope to use the services again! Many thanks 🤩”

“Beverley was so welcoming and made us feel confident in leaving our dog for the first time . Duncan, Beverley's dog was so cute, bith digs got on really well. Wouldn't hesitate to use again and would recommend to friends and family.”
“Ted had a FANTASTIC time with Bianca. We received lots of photos and he went on plenty of walks to tire him out. We would highly recommend using Bianca for dog boarding, and shall be using her again!! Thanks again xx”

“Busta had the best time with Katie and her partner, they sent lots of pictures and kept me up to date on everything he was doing. He seemed so happy with Katie’s dog buster! He looked so happy and settled really well. Will definitely use Katie again! 🩵”

“Emma was a delight 🙂. After reading the reviews, it was clear that our 7 month old would be in good hands. I made contact & Emma responded with some questions and a little more communication, Emma told me they would to have him. Emma & her family adored him and seeing the photos Emma shared, it was clear that Woody was happy & settled. Highly recommend & I would book again as and when the need arises 👍”

About: I am an avid outdoors person who loves taking their dog on long walks and hikes. I have looked after dogs of all sizes and personalities and would love the opportunity to look after yours too. I will be free all day on Wednesdays with no fuss of early drop offs or lates pick ups and can occasionally do the odd Saturday. I have a 4 year old cocker spaniel is fantastic with all dogs and loves a play mate. We have a good sized fenced garden, consisting mainly of grass and free from harmful plants.
About: What you can expect: * A safe, secure and loving family home. * Plenty of walks, playtime and enrichment. * Lots of cuddles and one-to-one attention. * Regular photo and video updates. * Your dog’s normal routine followed as closely as possible. * Clean, comfortable spaces for rest and sleep. My schedule My partner, Chris, and I both work from home full-time, which means your dog will have company and supervision throughout the day. We have a relaxed, open-plan home where dogs are free to explore, settle down wherever they’re comfortable, and enjoy being part of our daily routine. Larry starts every day with a morning walk before work. During our lunch break, we usually head out for another walk (weather permitting), and after we finish work, we enjoy a longer evening walk together. Because we’re home all day, there are plenty of opportunities for playtime, toilet breaks, enrichment and, of course, lots of cuddles and attention. We love having dogs around us and will make sure your dog feels happy, safe and included. I’m available seven days a week, including evenings and weekends, so I can offer flexible boarding and daycare to suit your needs. Whether it’s a short stay or a longer holiday, your dog will be cared for as if they were part of our own family. Your dog’s safety, happiness and wellbeing will always come first. I have a fully enclosed, secure garden where dogs can safely enjoy time outside, as well as a calm and welcoming home where they will be treated like part of the family. To ensure every dog receives my full attention, I only care for one guest dog at a time. Before confirming a booking, I like to arrange a meet and greet so your dog can meet Larry and we can make sure they’re a good match and feel comfortable together.

“Absolutely fantastic service from Meghan, great communication, lots of photos from Momo's stay. Our dog seemed to have a great time and would definitely use Meghan again and recommend to others.”

“Yvonne and her dog Tilly made Jack really welcome and he had a great time during his stay. Yvonne sent photos and updates so I could see he was safe, happy and settled. I have already booked his next stay and would definitely recommend.”

Can’t recommend Charlotte enough, everything was just really easy and relaxed and no stress which is exactly what we need and want, she was responsive and great with communication, flexible when needed and gave lovely updates with pictures of Cece’s stay and Cece just seemed really relaxed and chilled like she’d been to stay a million times before and this was just another short stay! We hope to book again with Charlotte if she’ll have us!

Sharon was wonderful with my Pug Elvis. It’s his second visit with her and he settled in brilliantly. Sharon kept us up to date with how he was getting on every day and sent plenty of photos. I would absolutely recommend her to look after your pet, she’s really lovely.

This was the 1st time I used Katie and what a fantastic person she is. She has a genuine love for dogs and it shows with the love and care she gives them aswell as all the cuddles they want a true home from home My dog belle likes to be the only dog as she can be a bit possessive over toys. So the fact that Katie only takes one dog at a time was perfect for us. I got regular updates and pictures. Belle has such good long walks and lots of cuddles she even got a little ice cream treat. I will definitely be booking Katie again xx

Bianca was very caring and did form a good bond with Mika. Bianca sent photos and kept us updated with how Mika was. Unfortunately Mika did not settle at night, which we didn’t expect as she sleeps downstairs at home without any issues. Bianca asked advice from us and got calming spray for her. Although I wouldn’t send Mika again I would certainly recommend Bianca to others as it is obvious that she adores dogs, it is just unfortunate that Mika wouldn’t settle.

My 2 dogs had a great time. I was a bit nervous about leaving them as they are only just a year old and I've not left them with anyone before. It was a very hot week and I did say not to worry about getting them out on walks but left that up to Rachel to make the decision on whether it would be too hot or not. I was sent plenty of updates and photos of them being played with and also just chilling out in the garden. They seemed to have a great time and I would be more than happy to use Rachel again.
Matty and Georgia have been absolutely wonderful with Maisie, who can be a little untrusting. They gave me regular updates while I was away sending photos to show she was happy. She has come back from her stay with them beautifully groomed (she's a very hairy dog) and completely relaxed and happy. Everything went so smoothly it was easy to go away knowing she was so comfortable with them. I wouldn't hesitate to book them again and have no hesitation in highly recommending them.

I would like to thank Helen and family for looking after ozzy for the week. He loved being able to roam around the enclosed fields. The experience from the first meeting to the end was excellent and very perfessional. I would recommend Helen to anybody that is looking to leave their pets and will definitely be using them in the future. Once again and big thanks. Ivan.

Mo was an absolute diamond find. We were so lucky to find this lovely lady. She looked after our 2 dogs with the greatest love and care while we travelled on a 2 week break. We are so happy to of found somebody that we can trust and know our pets are on great hands. Thank you so much!!

Our nervous dog was happy to see Justyna again and clearly felt comfortable and relaxed during the stay. Communication was great throughout, with lovely pictures and updates every day which really put our minds at ease. She and her partner are both kind and caring, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again

Meghan and Lawrence were amazing with Bobby. They defintely catered to his specific needs, lots of playtime, and went on long walks which is perfect for him. We were kept updated as well during his visit which gave us reassurance, even taking some incredible photos for us with a proper camera which is already my new screensaver. Bobby was in fact slightly reluctant to come home, as he'd had such a good time with them. Will definitely be using again.

This was Lola’s second time staying with Ellie. Lola absolutely loves their time together and always comes home so happy (& shattered) from all of the play time! Ellie took Lola to the beach, (reached out before hand to ask if that would be okay) which was so lovely. It’s so nice to know that she's going somewhere that she will be looked after just like she is at home.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
