“Winnie had the best time with Rachel, loved the constant updates on her stay. I want to thank you so much for looking after her especially in such high temperatures. She looked like she had a lovely time and if you’ll have her I’m sure she would love to stay with you again :) ❤️”

“Duke had a fab time with Rachel. She kept us updated throughout his stay. Being an older dog with health issues it is always a worry to leave him with someone new but we were out at ease from initial contact. Thank you!”

“Rhian is really a star. She made me feel so comfortable with leaving my puppy with her and you can tell how much she loves and cares for each dog she looks after. I received constant updates and he was the happiest boy ever - don’t think he wanted to come home. Honestly couldn’t recommend a better person to look after your pooches. Amazing from beginning to end.”

“It was Lola first stay with Jodi and she loved it. Jodi made Lola feel at home from when she arrived to when we picked her up. Lola is a high energy dog and Jodi took her to the dog paddock so she could have a good run off lead. Jodi sent us updates and photos each day while Lola was there. Would highly recommend her services.”

“We couldn't have been happier! This was the first time leaving Pablo and we were quite apprehensive. However Nick and Kerry were fantastic! We couldn't have asked for more! We have already looked in to booking for our next trip and we're gutted to see that Nick doesn't have the availability we needed but we will definitely be in touch for future sitting needs. Thank you so much.”

“Lok Man looked after our lovely cat Pompom and was just brilliant. She and her family were very loving and very caring, sent lots of updates and filled me with lots of confidence. We will definitely be using Lok Man in the future too 🥰”

“Bianca is a great host and I'll definitely be using her again. Ahead of Senna"s stay and during his stay Bianca"s communication was first class, with picture updates and queries. I was fully able to enjoy my holiday knowing Senna was enjoying his.”

“Beverley was so welcoming and made us feel confident in leaving our dog for the first time . Duncan, Beverley's dog was so cute, bith digs got on really well. Wouldn't hesitate to use again and would recommend to friends and family.”
About: I am an avid outdoors person who loves taking their dog on long walks and hikes. I have looked after dogs of all sizes and personalities and would love the opportunity to look after yours too. I will be free all day on Wednesdays with no fuss of early drop offs or lates pick ups and can occasionally do the odd Saturday. I have a 4 year old cocker spaniel is fantastic with all dogs and loves a play mate. We have a good sized fenced garden, consisting mainly of grass and free from harmful plants.

“We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better sitter than Katie. From the moment we left Paddy with her, she treated him like one of her own. We were definitely neurotic dog parents, especially knowing Paddy can be a little anxious, but Katie was incredibly patient, reassuring and kept us updated throughout our holiday. When Paddy became unwell, stopped eating and was sick, she contacted us immediately, took him straight to the vet and even called us from the appointment so we knew exactly what was happening. That level of care and communication meant the world to us. The biggest compliment we can give is that Paddy absolutely adored her. By the end of his stay he had become her little shadow, which says everything about how safe, loved and comfortable she made him feel. Thank you, Katie, for loving and caring for Paddy as if he were your own. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for little boy, and we wouldn’t hesitate to leave him with you again. We highly recommend Katie to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, compassionate and genuinely devoted to the dogs in her care.”

“Busta had the best time with Katie and her partner, they sent lots of pictures and kept me up to date on everything he was doing. He seemed so happy with Katie’s dog buster! He looked so happy and settled really well. Will definitely use Katie again! 🩵”

About: I’ve raised two dogs from puppyhood, so I understand every stage of their development - from house training and boundless puppy energy to the gentler care seniors need. Our family dog is now 13, so I’m experienced with managing age-related conditions (such as heart issues and arthritis) and adjusting activities to each dog’s pace. Whether your dog needs a calm companion at home or a brisk lunchtime walk to burn off energy, I’ll make sure they get the care and attention they need, with lots of love along the way. I work full time from home, so am available as a companion for your dog through the day. I can take them on walks at lunch and/or after work, and can make sure they have frequent access to outside if required. At the weekend, we can extend walk times to suit your dog’s fitness. We are expecting a baby in January 2026, so our availability is reduced from then while we settle in as a family. We have a fenced garden, and many cosy dog beds dotted about the house. We have a stair gate to fence off upstairs if you’re worried about access to stairs, and our downstairs has LVT flooring which is not too slippy (geriatric dog approved!) so they shouldn’t have any difficulty scamping around. We also have a 13-year-old male Pugalier, who loves the company of other dogs. He will be happy to settle down next to them for a snooze, or watch avidly while your dog plays with toys.
“Would highly recommend Paige after our Labrador Blu stayed with her for 2 weeks. We were fully informed of his walks and felt confident he was well cared for whilst we were away. He even came home fully bathed and all his blankets washed. Will be booking again for the summer - thank you Paige and your family for looking after Blu!”

“We’ve had Rebecca and Jim look after our dog, Gizmo, for the third time now, and once again they’ve been absolutely fantastic. Gizmo is always exceptionally well looked after and comes home happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for — it’s obvious she genuinely enjoys her stays with them. Thank you both again!”

“Highly recommend Leah, she was brilliant! Our dog was looked after exceptionally well and we had a great holiday knowing this. She sent daily updates which was great too. Would not hesitate to use Leah again, we were so pleased with how she looked after our dog.”

“Alfie stayed with Leah & Joe for the first time on Saturday. He was happy to see them and went straight in when Leah opened the door 😊 Leah kept us up to date with some photos throughout the evening and Alfie looked like he had made himself right at home. Thanks for taking such good care of Alfie for us.”

“Emily was great, looked after our mini dachshund overnight, let her sleep in her bed (which is her usual routine) Kept me updated, lovely to see her enjoying herself and having lots of cuddles.”

Momo had a great stay, and I couldn’t be happier with the care he received. He was well looked after, and he came home happy, relaxed, and clearly enjoyed his time. I really appreciated the regular updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. Thank you so much for taking such great care of Momo. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again and would highly recommend you to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter.

Molly absolutely loved her time with Leah & her little boy Tommy. From the moment we met Leah was covered with kisses from Molly. Leah really looked after Molly in the hot weather too. I think she missed them when we got home. I’d certainly recommend Leah. She’s so calm & confident with animals & humans alike. xx❤️

Matty and Georgia have been absolutely wonderful with Maisie, who can be a little untrusting. They gave me regular updates while I was away sending photos to show she was happy. She has come back from her stay with them beautifully groomed (she's a very hairy dog) and completely relaxed and happy. Everything went so smoothly it was easy to go away knowing she was so comfortable with them. I wouldn't hesitate to book them again and have no hesitation in highly recommending them.

Rachel looked after our dog Timmy for the first time, and we couldn't be happier with the care she provided. Timmy had plenty of walks, lots of time playing in the garden and visits to the park, and it was clear from the photos and updates Rachel sent throughout each day that he was having a wonderful time. It was so reassuring to receive regular updates, and Timmy came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. Rachel is reliable, caring, and genuinely loves dogs. I would definitely use Rachel's services again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an excellent dog sitter.
I would like to thank Helen and family for looking after ozzy for the week. He loved being able to roam around the enclosed fields. The experience from the first meeting to the end was excellent and very perfessional. I would recommend Helen to anybody that is looking to leave their pets and will definitely be using them in the future. Once again and big thanks. Ivan.

Mo was an absolute diamond find. We were so lucky to find this lovely lady. She looked after our 2 dogs with the greatest love and care while we travelled on a 2 week break. We are so happy to of found somebody that we can trust and know our pets are on great hands. Thank you so much!!

Our nervous dog was happy to see Justyna again and clearly felt comfortable and relaxed during the stay. Communication was great throughout, with lovely pictures and updates every day which really put our minds at ease. She and her partner are both kind and caring, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again

Meghan and Lawrence were amazing with Bobby. They defintely catered to his specific needs, lots of playtime, and went on long walks which is perfect for him. We were kept updated as well during his visit which gave us reassurance, even taking some incredible photos for us with a proper camera which is already my new screensaver. Bobby was in fact slightly reluctant to come home, as he'd had such a good time with them. Will definitely be using again.

This was Lola’s second time staying with Ellie. Lola absolutely loves their time together and always comes home so happy (& shattered) from all of the play time! Ellie took Lola to the beach, (reached out before hand to ask if that would be okay) which was so lovely. It’s so nice to know that she's going somewhere that she will be looked after just like she is at home.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
