“Rafael was fantastic with Albie! They kept in good communication before and during the sit, which really helped me feel reassured. It’s always so daunting leaving your pet with someone but Rafael made it really easy, and I’d definitely book with them again. They sent me pictures and updates and were super welcoming and friendly.”

“Robin was great looking after our sheltie. We were away for 2 day and she has sent us photos/ videos of our pup which seemed very comfortable and playful. Thank you very much Robin!”

About: I have been a mum to many dogs over the years including my shepherd holly and my Shiba Hubble, I work from home so can be with your furry friend most of the day, I also drive so I’m happy to take them out on big walks and sniffs! I’m comfortable with behavioural issues as I have rescue dogs of my own so understand they have their own ways of doing things. Don’t worry about being out of the loop as I’m happy to drop you pictures of them being spoilt whilst you’re away! I have spent so much time with a variety of dogs with different needs and have raised my own puppy so I know their specific needs, I would love to make your dog feel safe, comfortable and loved when his/her favourite people are away I am a freelancer with my own business, so I choose my own hours and can work from anywhere including other peoples homes! I have loads of spare time for caring for peoples dogs I don’t plan on caring for dogs in my own home due to my dog needing to be the only dog in the house so I will care for pets in their own home
“Ada was absolutely fab! She came to house sit my dog whilst I was at work, and it went completely smoothly. I was really nervous about leaving my dog, but she was really reassuring, sent me lots of updates throughout the day and made sure my dog was happy and relaxed. I’m really pleased with how it went and have booked again with Ada! Yay my dog has a new friend!”

“We had never left Tilly with anyone who was not family before and had a limited period to find a siiter (7 days) but the first time we met Jennifer we were immediately reassured. Whilst away we were updated daily via photos and videos which showed a happy contented dog- in fact Tilly looked more contented with Jennifer than with us!!! We came back to a clean and tidy house but more importantly a perfectly healthy and happy dog. We would not hesitate in using Jennifer again- in fact we are already planning trips away working around Jennifer and would highly recommend her.”

About: I have looked after dogs since I was 13 years old; walking, boarding and caring for. These were through my neighbours, friends and other companies. I thoroughly enjoy showing the dogs love and attention where their owners can’t and help the time pass better for them :) I am working 7 month contracts away with a period in between for rest so I have lots of free time out of my contract. There are many lovely parks around to take your fur babies and give them all the energy release they need. My garden is also fully enclosed with no other animals in the house to startle them.
About: Since starting pet sitting in April'19, I have now completed over 157 weeks of care, from the -30'C Canadian winters to the near 50'C summer in Dubai, remote Caribbean island to the hustle of capital city. Dogs & cats are equally loved, from Mini Dachshund to Bernese Mountain dogs, sleepy Pug to energetic Collie pups. So many happy memories and stories to tell. I feel honored and proud of my 5* feedback & references which are all far more important than anything I could write in my profile, and I have completed all verification available to me on this forum. Please help me to help you & your furry friends whilst you are away. Get in touch and we can arrange a call, skype, What'sApp or Zoom to make sure we would be a perfect fit. Communication is key. During my career as a Quality Manager, I always operated with the upmost professionalism, with integrity and in an open & honest way, and endeavored to instill these values to all of my team. Your house sit would be no different. I have been used to global pet sits of 1 to 2 months at a time, but equally, as I type, I'm sharing the sofa with a new furry pal in Suffolk for the week. It is unlikely that I would take any offers below 7 days. I am looking for pet sits during vacation from work. As such, my schedule would be adaptable to best match that of your beloved pet. I'm happy to explore the local woods & surroundings for up to 3hrs, dependent on the needs of your dog, and would keep to all of their normal scheduled meal / rest times. I like to pet sit to be with the pets, it is that simple. I could fly away and lay on the beach for a week or so, or maybe take myself away to the nearest ski resort, but that is nowhere near enjoyable as plotting a route to explore the woods using Ordinance Survey Apps with a new pal by my side, or playing fetch, tug or grooming. And I don't know why, but a nice pint in a quintessential British pub always tastes better with a pal at your heels.
About: Hi, I’m Chelsea, a lifelong animal lover with plenty of hands on experience across dogs and cats of every size and temperament. At home I have one cat and two german shepherds, one of the GSDs is a cross breed with a golden retriever at the ages of 5 and 9 so I know large and working breeds and have experience in handling and training dogs who are anxious and reactive, I will understand their energy, their training needs, and how to keep them settled and happy. I’m confident with big dogs, nervous dogs and anything in between. I’m also happy to take cats for walks who are trained in this. I have experience with giving animals medication including my own cat when I rescued her, and my dogs after operations and injuries. Beyond my own, I’ve fostered and rescued cats, including supporting one through labour and the birth of her litter. I’ve also I’ve also sat for a wide range of dogs and cats over the years, from shy rescues to boisterous puppies, and I adapt my approach to whatever each pet needs to feel comfortable. Whether your pet needs an experienced hand with a reactive breed, gentle care for a senior dog, or just a sitter who won’t bat an eye at the unexpected, I’d love to help. Your pet’s wellbeing and comfort always come first. I’m a musician so my schedule is flexible and non-traditional, often free during standard working hours when others are at their 9-5. My availability is high thanks to working from home between gigs, so I can offer regular check-ins, walks, or extended visits without a rigid clock-in/clock-out routine. I care for pets as if they were my own. At home I have two German Shepherds (5 and 9) and a cat, so I understand multi-pet households and how to keep everyone settled. I’m experienced with medication and post-op care, so I’m comfortable managing any health needs during visits. I keep routines consistent, watch closely for signs of stress and can adapt to whatever makes each pet feel safe and comfortable in their own home.
“Zuzanna stayed at my home and looked after our little Barney while we were in Rome. We had been let down last minute but she was quick to come over and meet and greet us & him. Whilst we were away she messaged lots with plenty of photos and videos for reassurance. Our home was also really well looked after and just as we’d left it. Thank you so much!!!”

“Amy and Isaac are amazing! They sent me pictures, videos and updates of how Mayo was getting on . From these updates I could see that Mayo was in safe and loving hands! She has obviously had a fabulous time ...excellent walks and lots of cuddles and love. Thank you for looking after her so caringly. Highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to use Amy and Isaac again.”

“Megan was absolutely wonderful. Both before and during the sit Megan was extremely reassuring and thorough. She listened to me and heard exactly what I was explaining about our dogs. My oldest dog is extremely anxious and scared - Megan made him feel comfortable whilst also reassuring me he would be in good hands… and he was. Both our dogs were treated like royalty they were completely spoilt and cared for as if they were the ones having a holiday. It gave me the permission to enjoy my holiday with regular updates and seeing how happy they were meant I didn’t need to think twice about leaving them. I was looking for someone that genuinely cared about dogs and wasn’t just doing this as a way to make money and I am so grateful for Megan. I highly recommend to anyone if you leave your pets with Megan they will be in very good hands!! My dogs now miss Megan more than I think they missed us!! Thanks Megan I can’t wait to book you in for our next sit!!!”

“Sam far surpassed our expectations! Noodles is a “handful” to say the least! He’s not quite a year and a half and still acts like a puppy in all ways. He’s also very hesitant around other dogs, which comes off as aggressive. Her first of many pictures sent to us was Noodles “calmly” sitting right in the middle of three others dogs during a pack walk! He came out of this weekend with new friends, human and four-leggers! We’ve already booked Sam for another weekend of “Noodle sitting” as well as dog walking and training! Couldn’t be happier for us and Noodles~ The McBride’s”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs/ponies from a young age.All my friends and family rely on me to care for their fury friends. I love animals so much and I always put their needs first. Having had ponies and dogs from being a baby I have been brought up caring for animals and ensuring their needs are met. I have a flexible working from home job currently so can be on hand to look after your dogs whenever needed. Pet care is part of my daily life and I have 2 loving babies of my own. I have a fenced yard, and 10 acres to keep your pups busy. I treat my own dogs like they are family and they are allowed on the furniture, however if your dog isn’t used to this and is crate trained and sleeps in a bed this is something I can also provide.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Rossendale
We had a couple of settling in sessions with Raf before our holiday and they were very punctual and keen to learn all about our dogs' preferences. Whilst our pup was originally a bit wary, Raf soon had him rolling on his back in no time and he soon became very protective of them. Before the holiday, Raf asked questions thay would enable them to care for the dogs as best as they were able which gave us great confidence. Raf let us know as soon as they arrived and sent regular updates whilst away. They soon became a part of our community and recognised by neighbours/postman etc! Raf left the house and dogs both clean and happy and we would love to have them back in future.

What an incredible person to look after our babies. She was just so lovely and sent photos every single day, daily updates and we have come home to the most beautifully cleaned and well looked after home. Will 100% be using Nicola again and i cannot recommend enough.

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rossendale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
