About: Hi, I’m Amy. Alongside my partner I have owned and run my own dog walking business Barking Pad for the past 5 years, both in the UK and over in sunny Australia! From Chihuahuas to Great Danes, Staffies to German Shepards, we’ve cared for them all - each one as much an adventure as the next. I am fully insured by Pet Business Insurance, which covers Public Liability, Loss of Keys, Animal Illness and Care Custody of up to 6 dogs per walk. Along with a cleared DBS check, I also have an OFQUAL Level 3 qualification in Canine First Aid and Emergency First Aid training, with having attended the Rachel Bean First Aid course. You’ll receive texts and photos with updates, and can even follow along on our social media pages too! A typical day will always start and end with lots of cuddles, with plenty of adventure in between! For dogs that love to make friends we have a lovely group of doggies just waiting to play with, and for those that enjoy their own space we always prioritise a nice solo adventure with lots to sniff and see. I always make sure to get as much detail from our owners as possible, to ensure their pets are as safe and happy as can be. With updates and pictures throughout their time to give owners full peace of mind.
“I'm so pleased we found Yara through Rover. She looked after our dog, Jenny for a few days at our house and was brilliant with her. She has a real genuine care and interest for animals, and it came across clearly when we met her,but also how she looked after jenmy throughout the stay. We appreciated her contact with us over the few days and the photo updates. She even taught her a new trick! The house was spotless when we got back and Jenny was relaxed, showing she'd clearly had a good time. Will definitely be asking her to look after Jenny again and would recommend 100%. Thanks Yara!”

About: Hi, I’m Paige! I really love spending time with dogs and have experience in taking care of them, we have 2 dogs in the the family home. an American akita and a blue staff, both very energetic so I know how to handle over excited dogs. They won’t be with me at any point whilst taking care of your dog so don’t worry if they’re not animal friendly. I’m currently working on from home on weekdays so looking for something to get me outside more than once a day. I finish by 3pm but can walk during my lunch hour and after work, including weekends. I have a 5 month old kitten of my own, Kookie. He is harness trained and the sweetest little boy. I have had him from being a small kitten so have dealt with fleas and know how to keep young kittens stimulated through the day! I have also had dogs my whole life and frequently walk a family members 4 month old Labrador. I don’t have space in my own home to look after a pet for long term stays.
“Amazing service provided by Ketsia, kept in touch through the stay and sent update photos which was very much appreciated. Our Crystal is a very anxious dog and can be reactive toward strangers but she warmed up to Ketsia within the first hour of meeting her which speaks volumes. Lovely girl and would book again, highly recommend”

“We used Mollie for several introductions with our dogs, and it was clear from the start that both our dogs loved Mollie and Hayden. We have just come back from our first 3 night trip away and returned to very happy dogs, and a lovely clean house, it was brilliant. We honestly could not be happier with the service they provided, we already have them booked for a week in June and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mollie and Hayden to anyone looking for a reliable, caring dog sitter.”

“Would 10/10 recommend Sophie. She was so lovely with Polly with lots of attention play and walks. Sophie was so good at also giving us updates through the day. Also, left our house immaculate! Thank you Sophie.”

About: Despite never owning a dog personally, me and my family have many times taken in a friends dog/s to look after whilst they go on holiday. The dogs would be my whole families responsibility, we are a health driven family meaning we adore long walks or runs and always made sure to keep the new furry friend happy. I have taken care of a variety of dogs such as labradors, jack russels, german shepherds and cocker spaniels. The dogs ages ranged from 6 months to 11 years so encountered many personalities! Read on for my experience with cats! I work part-time under zero contract, therefore I have plenty of time to spend looking after pets! I love long walks so if a dog needs to burn any energy off, I’d always be happy to take it. I am able to drive which makes it easier to get to any destination. I live in a very rural area with ragged roads so I am very used to driving on roads which aren’t the most upkept. If I were to care for pets in anothers house, I would be respectful to their wishes and any specific rules about the pet themselves or how the house should be kept would be followed. I aim to present myself as a safe person for the pets to be around and not break any boundaries with them to get them frightened or angry.
“Our babies loved Leanne! We are beyond grateful and had the best wedding day knowing our fur babies were being so well looked after. She even left us some flowers and treats for the boys to find when we got home. Thank you so much Leanne!”

“Martha was an absolute gem, we’ve never left Neville before so we’re a bit apprehensive but Martha put our minds at ease. Her love for animals shone through and it was very easy for us to leave Neville with her. Thank you so much Martha, we hope you enjoyed the last couple of days as much as Neville has. Xx”

About: I have have been around dogs since I was born, I bought my own dog when I was 18, she is 13 now and lives with my parents. I have dog walked for family and friends and taken care of friends dogs while they are away. I work 8 - 4 Mon - Fri so have time for dog walking in the evening and weekends. This also means I am available for boarding and doggy day care. I work from home one day a week so only really available for boarding over a weekend. We have a fully fenced in out door space. We have plenty of room inside for crates if required. We live on a quiet road but would never leave the dog unattended if the front door was every open. We are also right near Stamford park which is a great spot for a local walk. I live with my Fiance Harry. I will take care of the dogs but he is happy to provide cuddles and join in with play time.

About: ✅ Pet First Aid Level 2 ✅ Animal Assisted Therapy Certified ✅ Dogs- XL L M S ✅ Cats ✅ Birds ✅ Reptiles ✅ Small pets (Rabbits/Mice/Etc) ✅ Fish- Tropical/Marine I have been pet sitting for family, colleagues and the neighbourhood for years now. Easy going, reliable and trustworthy. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine as I have a flexible schedule and plenty of free time to dedicate to animals. This allows me to provide pets with the attention, companionship, exercise, and care they need throughout the day. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and can ensure they receive consistent care, whether that’s feeding, walks, playtime, or simply keeping them company while their owners are away :) When caring for pets in a pet owner’s home, I aim to maintain their usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. I take the time to get to know the pets, including feeding schedules, exercise requirements, medication, and favourite activities. Making sure to provide plenty of attention, companionship, playtime, and affection while ensuring their home is respected and kept tidy. I understand that pets can feel unsettled when their owners are away, so I focus on creating a calm, reassuring environment where they feel safe, happy, and well cared for.

Freya was fantastic communication was fantastic very quick to respond to all our messages. She house sat for us whilst we was away for 24 hours for our wedding. Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Oldham walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oldham choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
