“Jade was brilliant with our little Marie, keeping us updated from when on our honeymoon in Japan. Marie always looked happy and content in all the pictures sent through which helped put our mind at ease during our holiday. Jade also did a meet and greet with us before going ahead with the booking which was great, we could tell our Marie took to Jade instantly. Jade was super helpful with everything and communicated really well, really great job!”

“Luc was amazing, dropped his plans last minute to help us out whilst mum was in hospital, Ossi loved him & wasn't happy when he left which proves what a great guy he is, we will definitely use your services again. Thank so much Luc”

“Holly and Ryan are absolutely amazing! They looked after our two dogs (both with their own little problems) and they made them both so comfortable and at ease while we were away! They kept us updated regularly and we came home to two happy pups who were sad to see them leave ❤️ Could not recommend highly enough.”

About: I don’t have my own pets but I’ve dog and cat sitted for family, friends and neighbours. I’m a puppy yoga teacher and live close to a big park. I work from home so companionship would be lovely and tend to enjoy walks around parks so your pup will get plenty of love and attention as well as outdoor walks! I live in a flat by myself so no need to check with anyone else on if I can take a dog in. Preferred corgi size and smaller as it’s a small two bed flat. I usually log in around 7am but then I would be able to take pup out for a little walk before being back at my desk. A little lunch break stroll and then after work walk - weather permitting we can go for a walk in Heaton park and have a play there. I also live close to a small field where it’s a short walk away for quick lunchtime run. A doggy small enough to cuddle on my lap as I work too would be lovely. I have enough space for a crate in my flat if needed. I’m super careful when looking after other dogs to clear big things with them or google what they can and can’t eat. I have a car too so if I’m out and it’s a dog friendly place I’d be happy to take them with me.
About: Hi, I’m Chelsea, a lifelong animal lover with plenty of hands on experience across dogs and cats of every size and temperament. At home I have one cat and two german shepherds, one of the GSDs is a cross breed with a golden retriever at the ages of 5 and 9 so I know large and working breeds and have experience in handling and training dogs who are anxious and reactive, I will understand their energy, their training needs, and how to keep them settled and happy. I’m confident with big dogs, nervous dogs and anything in between. I’m also happy to take cats for walks who are trained in this. I have experience with giving animals medication including my own cat when I rescued her, and my dogs after operations and injuries. Beyond my own, I’ve fostered and rescued cats, including supporting one through labour and the birth of her litter. I’ve also I’ve also sat for a wide range of dogs and cats over the years, from shy rescues to boisterous puppies, and I adapt my approach to whatever each pet needs to feel comfortable. Whether your pet needs an experienced hand with a reactive breed, gentle care for a senior dog, or just a sitter who won’t bat an eye at the unexpected, I’d love to help. Your pet’s wellbeing and comfort always come first. I’m a musician so my schedule is flexible and non-traditional, often free during standard working hours when others are at their 9-5. My availability is high thanks to working from home between gigs, so I can offer regular check-ins, walks, or extended visits without a rigid clock-in/clock-out routine. I care for pets as if they were my own. At home I have two German Shepherds (5 and 9) and a cat, so I understand multi-pet households and how to keep everyone settled. I’m experienced with medication and post-op care, so I’m comfortable managing any health needs during visits. I keep routines consistent, watch closely for signs of stress and can adapt to whatever makes each pet feel safe and comfortable in their own home.

About: I have been surrounded by dogs since the age of 12, giving me over 31 years of hands-on experience. Growing up with Shih Tzus and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, I learned early on how to handle different temperaments and grooming needs. Currently, I am a proud owner of a Frenchie, so I am very well-versed in the specific care required for brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds, including monitoring their breathing and heat regulation. Whether it's high-energy play or patient senior care, I treat every dog with the same love and attention I give my own." I currently work part-time, which allows me to make pet care a top priority. My schedule is very flexible; I am available for overnight boarding on weekends and can provide plenty of attention on weekdays after 2 pm. Because I work limited hours, your dog will never be left alone for long periods and will receive consistent walks, potty breaks, and playtime. Safety is my main concern. I have a secure, fenced-in garden where dogs can play safely. I own two friendly dogs who love making new friends, but I am also experienced in using crates or separate rooms if a guest dog needs their own space to decompress. Whether in my home or yours, I maintain a clean, hazard-free environment and always follow your specific feeding and emergency protocols to the letter.
About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with two amazing dogs of my own who mean the absolute world to me. Dogs have always been a big part of my life, and I truly adore them — they’re my biggest weakness! When your dog is with me, they’ll be treated like family. I’ll make sure they feel completely at home, with lots of cuddles, attention, and playtime. Whether it’s a chilled-out day or an active adventure, I’ll tailor the experience to your dog’s personality and needs. You can enjoy your time away knowing your furry friend is safe, happy, and getting the best care possible — just like I’d want for my own. I’d also like you to know that I will completely respect your house whilst your away, any rules you have please tell me, if you’ve got plants i’ll water them etc. Feel free to message me with any questions or special requests. I can’t wait to meet your pup! The images on my bio show a number of dogs i’ve had the pleasure to either own as a pet, take on walks and dog sit. I’m currently doing an apprenticeship in engineering so my job requires me to work Monday-Thursdays. This is good because i’m available Fridays-Sundays which is great for a little weekend getaway! I have a car so don’t worry if you’re difficult to get too, i don’t mind. This also means i can take your dog to the best spots for walks and adventures! Weekends are definitely preffered I care for pets in their own home where they feel safest and happiest. I stick to their routine, give them loads of love, cuddles, and playtime. All you need to do is tell me what their specific needs are and they will be met!
“I cannot recommend Megan enough! We needed a catsitter last minute after a friend could no longer help, for our two kittens who had not yet been left for long periods. Megan came for a visit to meet the girls and it was immediately clear she was perfect to look after them! Megan stayed with our girls in our spare room, playing with them, and giving them 5 star treatment throughout the day - which was so lovely to see with all the beautiful pictures and videos we recieved ❤️ The girls were so happy and relaxed, and we came home to them knowing just how much fun they'd had - we had regular updates and Megan just went above and beyond with her upkeep with the girls! Will most certainly be booking with Megan again in the future and can stand as a brilliant reference for her!”

“We used Mollie for several introductions with our dogs, and it was clear from the start that both our dogs loved Mollie and Hayden. We have just come back from our first 3 night trip away and returned to very happy dogs, and a lovely clean house, it was brilliant. We honestly could not be happier with the service they provided, we already have them booked for a week in June and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mollie and Hayden to anyone looking for a reliable, caring dog sitter.”

“Layla has been an excellent dog sitter for Chester. She kept us up to date with pictures and updates, I felt very comfortable in the knowledge that he was being well cared for. Layla clearly loves dogs and knowing that Chester was happily getting lots of attention from Layla made our holiday even more relaxing!”

“Sumaiyah took really great care of Iggy and I would definitely book her again. She has experience with both cats and dogs which was great because I have a cat who is still getting used to having Iggy around. She also kept me updated through the day with photos & videos which I really appreciated.”

This is our third long holiday sitting with Holly (there have been other shorter ones) and I don't know what we would do without her. We always know that they are in the safest hands - Holly loves them like they are her own, despite their funny ways. She sends loads of updates so we can see how happy and settled they are. They are always so happy to see her arrive and attach themselves to her immediately. We would not be comfortable leaving them with anyone else.

Another fantastic booking with Phil, always leaves the house spotless and I have no worries at all leaving Rory with him. Phil takes the time to get to know your dog and routines and I know Rory will always be well looked after. Keeps you updated on how they are getting on and really puts your mind at ease!

Zu was amazing! She’s such a friendly person and you can tell she just loves all dogs ❤️ she looked after buzz so well and he is such a high energy dog but nothing was too much for her. She made sure he was walked lots and given loads of love and cuddles. She sent multiple updates a day so we had compete peace of mind as she left our house completely spotless! Would absolutely recommend her and use her again when we need a dog and house sitter for buzz!

Anthony helped us out at short notice with Coco. He followed all instructions and kept in touch with videos and photos. You could see she was really happy and really loved spending time with him and was sad to see him leave. He is the best sitter we have ever had and will definitely be using him again. Thanks for your help X

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Bury walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bury choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
