About: Dog mad since childhood and after losing my own dog in 2009, I set up a rescue in his honour. Over 15 years of helping rescue and rehome dogs as well as injury and trauma rehab. I’ve also run a dog shelter single handed with over 40 dogs. All proceeds go towards my dog rescue project 🐾 I am fully dedicated to dogs. My project ........ involves me working and fundraising in the UK and then going abroad to rescue in places of critical need. They last 6 years I’ve been doing this mostly between London and Turkiye where they passed a law to massacre stray dogs. When I’m in London, I stay at my best friend’s place near Vauxhall station to keep overheads low. I usually care for dog’s at the owner’s home but can accommodate at my friend’s flat where I stay when I’m in London if required - all dog lovers here.

“Rowan was brilliant with our two cats, who instantly took to them and clearly felt safe with them. Rowan stayed overnight in our home with the cats, and left it clean, without any concerns. Rowan sent regular updates for how the cats were getting on, including photos. Rowan followed everything we asked of them, which we're very grateful for! We'll be booking Rowan again - thoroughly recommend!”

“Phlox was very well cared for and had a lovely time! It was the first time we've left her with house sitters so we were a bit nervous, however we were kept up to date with photos throughout and she seemed very happy and comfortable. Thank you for your help! ❤️🐕🐾”

“Catherine was brilliant. Would recommend to anyone! She came to stay at our house to care for my two (very needy) dogs and tortoise. Catherine took great care of the dogs and it shows as my one very timid dog was giving her cuddles an hour after she arrived at our house. Catherine provided lots of updates and photos and videos which was very appreciated. Will definitely be using Catherine again in the future. Thank you for taking such good care of the pets and house 🌟”

“Debbie and Andrew looked after Luna for 2 nights and weee absolutely fantastic, they kept me up to date with how she was doing with lots of communication and pictures. Would recommend them to anyone. Thanks again”

“Camilla looked after Meg, my West Highland Terrier and my home wonderfully. She was very caring and I could tell when I returned home how they had bonded together. It was the first time I had used a sitter in my home but I would have no reservations in employing Camilla again. A big “Thank you”, Camilla from Sue and Meg.”

“This was our first time using both Rover and Michael to look after our two dogs and home while we were away on holiday, and the service we received was great. From the initial first contact and home visit through to the personal handover on our return was just what we needed. We returned to happy dogs and a well looked after home.”

“Georgia was amazing with housesitting our boy. She met Tyson before she sitted him so she could ask any questions and we could go through a few things to make her stay run as smooth as possible. Georgia sent regular pupdates and made me feel calm about leaving him, which I usually find very difficult and highly stressful. It was lovely to turn off for a few days knowing he was in capable, experienced and loving hands. Would definitely recommend Georgia to friends and family, and will definitely be using her again for when we go away or need someone to pop in to walk Tyson. Thank you so much Georgia 🥰 xx”

About: Hi! I’m Elisabeth or Libby, I’m 19 years old and have grown up with dogs my whole life. I’ve had hands-on experience caring fora variety of breeds like Labradors, Staffies, and Scottish Terriers, and have been the main caregiver for my family and friends dogs for years. This has given me experience with different temperaments, exercise needs, and routines — from energetic walks and playtime to calmer companionship and daily care. I’m confident with basic animal first aid skills and experienced in spotting signs that a pet may be unwell or behaving differently from normal. Through caring for family pets, I’ve also had experience communicating with vets, including assisting during video consultations and carrying out checks such as inspecting teeth and gum health under veterinary guidance. I’m planning to study Animal Behaviour at undergraduate level in September, as working with and understanding animals is something I’m genuinely passionate about. I’m also respectful, reliable, and trustworthy when caring for pets in other people’s homes, making sure both your dog and your home are looked after carefully while you’re away. Hi! I’m a reliable and caring animal lover currently taking some time before starting university in September after finishing college. This gives me plenty of free time and flexibility to dedicate to looking after your pets and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away. I’m patient, attentive, and happy to follow any routines or special care instructions your pet needs. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping them company, I’ll treat your pets like my own! Your pet’s safety, comfort, health, and happiness are always my top priorities. I provide a calm, caring, and trustworthy environment for dog walking, daytime pet sitting, and overnight stays, either in my cosy one-bedroom seafront flat or within your own home where your pet feels most comfortable. Having recently finished college before starting university in September, I currently have a very flexible schedule, allowing me to give pets plenty of attention, companionship, exercise, and care throughout the day. I understand how important routines, patience, and trust are when caring for someone’s pet, and I always aim to make owners feel confident and reassured while they’re away. I take pride in keeping both my own flat and clients’ homes clean, tidy, and well cared for at all times. During walks, I always prioritise safety by using secure leads, staying attentive to surroundings, and making sure pets are exercised responsibly and comfortably. Living by the seafront also allows me to offer enjoyable beachfront walks, giving dogs fresh air, exercise, and a calm environment to explore safely. I’m attentive to each pet’s individual health and wellbeing, ensuring they receive the care, affection, and attention they need to feel safe, relaxed, and happy. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply relaxing in a peaceful environment by the sea, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well looked after at all times.
“We could not of been any luckier with coming across Barbara, our dog Kasper took to her straight away and settled really easily. She did everything and more that we'd of hoped for, to which saw Kasper cuddle up to her... Something he doesn't do often!! We will definitely be using their expertise again”

“Georgia, looked after my cat George again yesterday and again like last time she was amazing! Keep me informed throughout the whole time via messages and video. Was so understanding with his needs. Thank you Georgia for all your help 😻x”

“Very pleased with Tracy looking after Russet. Tracy always replied promptly to communications and looked after Russet and the house well. Would request Tracy again if she is agreeable.”

About: Growing up with dogs and cats, I’ve always had a natural bond with animals one built on trust, calm energy, and genuine care. I’ve looked after pets through every stage of life, from playful puppies to senior companions needing extra patience and support. For the past three years, I’ve been the go-to sitter for friends and family, caring for their pets in their own homes while they’re away. What sets me apart is the way I tune in to each animal’s personality and needs. I don’t just feed and walk I connect. I bring compassion, consistency, and a calm presence that helps pets feel safe, understood, and happy in their own space. And yes there’s always room for a silly voice, a belly rub, or a game of chase around the garden. I make sure pets have fun, not just care. I’m taking on pet care full-time it’s where my heart and energy belong. I’m currently open for bookings and ready to give pets the calm, fun, tuned-in care they deserve. When I’m pet sitting, I create a calm, predictable space where pets feel safe and understood. I follow their routines closely, tune into their moods, and let them settle in at their own pace or jump into play when they’re ready. I bring fun, presence, and a whole lot of heart, while always being respectful in your home and keeping things clean, tidy, and steady.
“We hired simone for a full-day sitting service for our wedding, and they were amazing. Toby (our Cavapoo) and Milly (our Yorkie-poo) can be sensitive, but they were so relaxed, happy, and well looked after. It gave us complete peace of mind on our big day. Thank you so much!"”

“If Caroline had not agreed to look after our dog Xenna in our own home I probably would not have gone on holiday! Caroline accommodated Xenna's fussy eating habits, groomed her long coat, and kept in touch frequently, with messages and photos, to reassure me that our princess was happy. I know Xenna was cared for well and I highly recommend Caroline as a pet sitter and house sitter.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Wyre walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wyre choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
