About: I grew up with dogs as a child, and did dog walking as a teenager, however as an adult - I have had 8 years worth of experience caring for them. I currently have 3 amazing dogs who I couldn’t physically love any more than I already do. I have experience in medical care as well as looking after rambunctious puppies. I work in a primary school Mon-Fri, so I can walk your beloveds after I finish and board at weekends and during school holidays too. I have an enclosed back garden; secured by 6 foot fences around the perimeter. I will keep your dog on a lead at all times, unless given permission only when privately hiring a fully secure dog field.

About: Hi! I'm Astrid. Ever since I can remember, animals have been a fundamental part of my life. I am truly passionate about spending time with dogs and cats, understanding their unique personalities, and making sure they feel happy, comfortable, and deeply loved when you are away. Back in Argentina, I used to run a dog grooming salon alongside my mom, which gave me hands-on experience and a deep understanding of canine behavior. I know how to read their body language, how to keep them calm, and exactly how to spoil them with the right amount of attention. Please note that my native language is Spanish, and I am currently practicing and improving my English every day! I am more than happy to communicate in whichever language you prefer. What I offer: Active & Fun Walks: Tailored entirely to your fur-baby's energy level, size, and pace (including games, exploration, and proper exercise). Drop-in Visits / House Sitting: Timely feeding, fresh water, cleaning the litter box for cats, and of course, plenty of playtime and companionship at your place. Constant Updates: I know how important your fur-baby is to you, so I will always send you photos and text updates throughout the day so you can have total peace of mind. I only offer care at your home or through outdoor walks, ensuring your fur-baby stays in a familiar and comfortable environment. I treat every single animal with the same love and devotion as if they were my own family. I can't wait to meet your beautiful fur-baby! Monday to Thursday: Available in the afternoons and evenings (from 1:00 PM onwards). I attend English classes in the mornings, so I am ready to walk or visit your fur-babies right after midday! Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: Fully available all day for walks and drop-in visits. Safety is my number one priority. During walks, I always keep dogs on their leashes and remain fully alert to their surroundings, avoiding crowded areas or interactions with unknown dogs unless authorized by you. I use my hands-on experience from working in a dog grooming salon to read their body language, ensuring they are calm, happy, and hydrated throughout the entire walk. When visiting your home, I double-check that all doors, windows, and gates are securely locked before and after my visit. I strictly follow your feeding, medication, and care instructions. Plus, I will send you real-time photo and video updates so you can see exactly how your fur-baby is doing and have total peace of mind.

We could not of been any luckier with coming across Barbara, our dog Kasper took to her straight away and settled really easily. She did everything and more that we'd of hoped for, to which saw Kasper cuddle up to her... Something he doesn't do often!! We will definitely be using their expertise again

Jenny came to sit for me this week for my dog and cat. She was really lovely, keen to understand all about their routines, likes and dislikes, Jenny sent me pictures and it looked as if my dog was really enjoying her company. He bonded really well with her. Would definitely recommend.

About: I've looked after dogs since I was a child. Our house has always had dogs. They are treated as part of the family. Currently, i have a chocolate lab called Bramble and a rescue collie called Billy.I regularly walk dogs for people around the beautiful South Lakes countryside. Your dog will get two long walks during their stay and lots of cuddles and play time. I work from home, so your pet will get lots of attention and cuddles. They will be treated as part of our Dog Squad family. Every pet is treated as if it is my own. We have a very large garden and access to the beach, fells and moorland of Furness. I can crate your pet if required but usually your pet will be treated like my own. They will have access to dog beds and toys. They are welcome on furniture and beds, because after all, they are guests of the family.

Helen was fantastic, we would highly recommend her as a house/pet sitter and we will be using her again. Our dog Shelby had a lovely time whilst we were away for 2 weeks, and the house was immaculate when we returned! We received regular updates from Helen, she was friendly, professional and very attentive when caring for Shelby. Thank you Helen! X

Olivia did a great job looking after Kiera and I think Kiera enjoyed Olivia looking after her and taking her walks with other dogs. We were very pleased with how clean the house was when we returned from our holiday and kiera seems very happy. Hoping to book Olivia for our nex̌t holiday. Would highly recommend Olivia

Laura has house sat for me twice now and I'll continue to book in with her going forward. She sent me regular photos and updated me throughout her stay. My pets were clearly settled having her around and she left my house clean and tidy. Thanks again Laura :)

Laura house sat my two dogs and kept me up to date with photos during her stay. My cavalier and retriever clearly had a great time with her and special instructions were followed. I'll definitely be using Laura again as she is super friendly and also works flexibly, which helped massively when organising the meet & greet and her stay.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Barrow-in-Furness walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Barrow-in-Furness choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
