About: Hiya, I’m Tarrah and I’ve been caring for animals pretty much my whole life. I grew up surrounded by animals and have spent the last 5 years pet sitting and the last 2 years house sitting for people around the world and in the UK. I genuinely treat pets like family, and I’m big on routines. I’m very intuitive with animals, and I take time to understand each pet as an individual. Different personalities need different care, and I always adjust to what your pet is comfortable with, and needs. You can expect regular updates, photos and videos while you’re away, and the peace of mind that your home and your pet are being looked after properly. I’ve cared for everything from energetic puppies and kittens to senior and end-of-life pets, so I’m comfortable with both high-energy and gentle, slower routines. I have such a special connection with animals that growing up, my nickname was Ace Ventura and Dr Dolittle… which honestly still feels pretty accurate 😅. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet and your home with someone, and I take that responsibility seriously. If you’re looking for someone calm, reliable and genuinely invested in your pet’s wellbeing, I’d love to help. I work fully remotely and run my own business, which means my schedule is completely flexible. I can fit in walks, playtime, feeding, medication and cuddles throughout the day, and I’m always available to respond to updates or messages. Whether your pet prefers structured routines or more relaxed days, I can adapt to their needs and ensure they feel happy and cared for while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priority. Whether I’m in your home or caring for your pet at mine, I make sure the environment is secure, clean and calm. I follow your instructions to the letter, feeding, walks, medication, routines - and pay close attention to each pet’s individual needs and temperament. I also provide regular updates, photos and videos, so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, happy and loved.

“Morag was absolutely wonderful looking after our indoor cat, she was really intentional about making sure she learnt about him beforehand and that we were a right fit for eachother, and sent plenty of updates and pics while we were away. Couldn’t recommend more!”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals of all kinds - from rabbits to rats, fish to cats, and a dog or two as well! Having such a variety of pets taught me that every animal, big or small, needs the same things: care, attention, patience, and lots of engagement. Although I haven’t had pets of my own while at university, I’ve consistently lived with cats and dogs that needed looking after, so caring for animals has always been part of my daily life. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, walks, playtime, and making sure pets feel relaxed and safe. What matters most to me is a pet’s quality of life. I make sure every animal I care for feels happy, stimulated, and well looked after while their owner is away. I’m a graduate student with a flexible schedule, and much of my work can be done from home. This allows me to easily plan my day around your pet’s routine and give them plenty of attention and care. I attend class on Tuesdays and every other Monday for no more than six hours, but outside of that I’m generally home and available throughout the week. This means I can be a consistent and attentive companion for your furry friend while you’re away. I follow your pet’s routine closely, whether it’s feeding, walks, or playtime, to keep them happy and comfortable. On walks, I tailor the pace and activity to their energy level while always keeping safety in mind. When house sitting, I treat both your pet and home with care, giving companionship, attention, and a calm environment so your furry friend feels secure while you’re away. Clear communication and reliability are always my top priorities.
“Heather was fantastic with Raffy. She came to meet him to get to know him and they got along really well. She took lots of pictures and kept us updated. We would highly recommend her to anyone needing a dog sitter.”

About: Hey! I’m Rebecca a longtime animal lover and professional photographer, I’m very privileged to work with dogs in my line of work, so rest assured your pets are in safe hands! I have previously looked after dogs for family and friends including nervous dogs. I also love to go on walks so would be willing and able to take your dogs for long walks. I’m currently a student going into my master which is one day a week, however I am on summer break at the minute so have all the time in the world to look after your little darlings! I am experienced with nervous dogs so I know when to let your pet have some downtime! I check in regularly and make sure they are okay and happy.

About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs in a home environment. I helped train and house-train a cockapoo puppy from a young age and regularly cared for him while my parents were at work, including feeding, walking, playing, and general daily care. He is now 6 years old, and I have continued to spend many days alone with him. Three years ago, we also welcomed a second rescue cockapoo with more nervous and overexcited tendencies, so I have experience managing different personalities and supporting him both individually and alongside our other dog. I am confident with daily routines, walks, feeding, and providing calm, attentive care. I also have experience with cats through friends and family, although I have more experience with dogs. I'm currently a dietetics student at the University of Chester living on Chester campus but I am moving to a 4 bed house from August. I have time for walks and home visits and sometimes have availability on request for duration stays in Chester. I would care for pets in an owner’s home by following their usual routines closely to help the pet feel safe and settled in familiar surroundings. I would prioritise safety by making sure doors, gates, and leads are secure before and during walks, and by being attentive to each pet’s behaviour and needs at all times. I understand the importance of trust when entering someone’s home, so I would treat the property with respect, follow any instructions carefully, and maintain clear communication with the owner. I would provide regular updates if requested, including messages and photos, so they feel reassured while away. As I live on campus accommodation where pets aren’t allowed, I am available for dog walking, drop-in visits, and staying in the client’s home when needed. I am comfortable adapting to each pet’s routine and environment to ensure consistency, comfort, and low stress for them.

“Ellena has looked after Tinker & Luna a few times now. The cats are happy which makes me happy. This time Ellena was flexible when I had to unexpectedly ask for an additional visit.”

“Thomas accommodated my last minute booking and set my mind at ease leaving my cats for a few days. He is very attentive and the cats loved him! I will always book Thomas when I go away. I couldn't be happier. He is really nice and I came home to happy cats and a clean area!”

“I couldn't have asked for a better cat sitter :-). My cat took to Eli straight away, which rarely happens as she's quite a nervous cat. It put my mind at ease and it was clear that Eli has a genuine love for animals. Eli was super reliable and sent messages and photos daily so that I knew my cat was happy and being well cared for. She fed her, played with her and gave her lots of cuddles. I'd highly recommend Eli to anyone looking for a pet sitter and will definitely use her again.”
“Alexandra is a fantastic cat sitter; diligent, friendly, looks after the cats so well and left the house neat and tidy. She keeps in regular contact and goes above and beyond to give me piece of mind when I’m away from home.”

The best cat sitter ever! Always goes above and beyond and gives our cat so much love and attention when we are away. I’ve used Ellena multiple times now and will continue to, I wouldn’t look anywhere else. We’re so lucky to have found such an amazing lady to look after our fur baby 🐈⬛
Laura was fantastic with our boy Pickles. We came back from our trip away to him acting like nothing was different and we had been home the whole time. Laura was very easy to communicate with and kept us thoroughly up to date on all of Pickles visits, with some of the funniest pictures we've seen of Pickles yet! We would highly recommend Laura for your pet sitting needs and will be looking to rebook with her again in the future. Thanks Laura!

I am really happy with Daisy. I knew from meeting her that she was experienced and caring with cats and even gave us some valuable advice when we reported some "odd" behaviour. My cat was well cared for, allowing us to relax on our holiday. We look forward to booking with Daisy again.
Chloe has been absolutely fantastic and I'm sure she's replaced me as Miri's favorite human! It made a real difference to our holiday, having complete peace of mind that Miri was content and well looked after. I really looked forward to the daily updates that Chloe sent me about what Miri was getting up to, how she was eating, and the cuddles she was getting, and sent great photos and videos of their play sessions. It was fantastic to see Miri so content and getting some love. I'd wholeheartedly recommend Chloe, and would not hesitate to ask her to look after Miri again.
Would recommend caitlin to look after your fussy pussys. Caitlin looked after my two very different cats, one shamelessly craving affection, the other very shy over 5 days. Both were well cared for and caitlin kept me up to date with photos of ginge happily sitting on her knee soaking up the attention. Thank you caitlin would happily use you again if you'd have us 😻
Emma was great. We had a visit prior to our booking date so she could meet our cat. He was very shy at first but she gently got him to come round. She followed our instructions to the letter and sent us regular updates on his behaviour and eating. We’ll be booking her again

I would 100% recommend Heather in a heartbeat. She is calm, efficient and exactly what we needed to visit and feed our extremely nervous little cat while we were away. We got daily updates and it was obvious that Heather genuinely cares about animals and their welfare. Thank you so much Heather, I shall be telling friends and neighbours about your excellent service.

Isabella is a pleasant young woman and obviously loves animals. She looked after our 2 tabbies, including giving one of them medication, while we were away for a few days, and kept us up to date with photos and videos. We returned to happy, well cared for cats.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
