“Matt and his partner came over to do a meet and greet prior to our booking which was a great way to tell them everything about the boys and get to know them. We really appreciated this extra step! Matt provided some fantastic pictures and kept us regularly updated whilst we were away and we came home to two very happy cats! He accommodated our booking on very short notice too which was extremely helpful :) I would be more than happy to recommend Matt and will be in touch in the future for further bookings!”
“Tabitha is a great sitter, super responsive and flexible. Really friendly and great with the animals. Goes above and beyond. Really great knowing your pets are in good hands”

About: My two most favourite things are walking and dogs, so being a dog walker is the perfect fit! I’ve always loved spending time with dogs — whether it’s long walks, playing fetch at the park, or giving them lots of attention and care. I have experience looking after friends’ and family members’ dogs of different breeds, ages and sizes, and I make sure every pup feels safe, happy, and comfortable. You can count on me to treat your dog like my own and to make every walk a fun little adventure. I’m currently working park time! So I’m available most days to take your dog on a lovely walk around the local area! I can also drive so I’m widely available in the Flintshire area. When I come to check on the dog I’ll discuss with the owner specifically what needs doing. Then we can decide a good routine from there 👍

About: I have been a registered vet nurse (RVN) for 8 years, I have always had a strong love and connection to animals. I have had a lot of experience with cats, dogs and small mammals to include challenging behaviours. I have developed patience with anxious pets over the years and have a calm approach. With my background I can administer pet first aid and have easy access to the practice I work in (Village vets in Buckley) I currently work full time in my veterinary practice but can offer care for your pets over a weekend / weekdays can be organised around my shifts. I can only offer pet sitting in your house for the moment - as my two border collies aren’t keen to share the garden! I can offer regular toilet breaks and keep your pet company throughout if you’d prefer
“Rachel was great with our 8 month old kitten - she took lots of photos and kept us updated with Mabel. She was punctual to the times requested and Mabel looked very happy, enjoying all the attention. Thanks Rachel 😁”

About: I bring a unique mix of professional responsibility and genuine love for animals. As a qualified nurse, I’m calm under pressure, attentive to detail, and deeply caring — qualities that carry over into the way I look after pets. At home, I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback, Simba, so I’m very confident handling large, strong breeds as well as smaller dogs. I also regularly walk and care for friends’ and family members’ dogs, giving me experience with a wide range of personalities, energy levels, and needs. I’m experienced with energetic puppies who need structure, training, and plenty of exercise, and I understand the patience and gentleness required for senior pets. I’m also comfortable administering basic medications, thanks to my professional background. What sets me apart is the combination of trustworthiness, reliability, and hands-on experience — both personally and professionally. I don’t just provide walks or sitting; I make sure pets feel safe, loved, and happy in their routine. Plus, I always keep owners updated with photos and messages, so you’ll have peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in caring hands. Pet care is already a big part of my daily life. I have a young Rhodesian Ridgeback, Simba, who keeps me active with regular walks, play, and training. Caring for him has made pet care a natural part of my routine, so fitting in walks, drop-ins, or sitting for other pets comes very naturally to me. I work as a nurse, and I’m off every Monday and Friday, which means I’m fully available on those days. On my work days, I can often offer evening walks or visits, depending on your pet’s needs. Because I’m used to balancing a busy job with pet care at home, you can trust that I’ll always be reliable, flexible, and make your pet’s wellbeing a priority. In your home, I always follow your pet’s routine to keep them feeling safe and settled — from feeding and walks to playtime and cuddles. I make sure to respect your space, keep things tidy, and send regular updates and photos so you know your pet is happy and well looked after. In my own home, I have Simba, my young Rhodesian Ridgeback, who is playful, friendly, and used to socialising with other dogs. Pets who stay with us will enjoy company, walks, and a loving family environment where they’re treated as part of the pack. I also make sure introductions are calm and safe, so every pet feels comfortable. With my background as a nurse, I’m confident giving medication if needed and staying calm in any situation. Whether in your home or mine, your pet will always receive reliable, loving care as if they were my own.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
