“Rebecca was excellent and easy to contact. Our cat is a rescue and very timid, but settled very quickly with Rebecca and was very content. She kept us well informed of how things were going. I would definitely ask her to look after Saffron again.”

“Jade looked after our anxious cat who acts up when she’s alone, she dealt with food, water, litter (however most of the time wasn’t in the litter which I feel terrible she cleaned up every time!!) and sat with her outside in the garden. Thanks Jade!”

“Zoe minded my two cats whilst I was away for a few days! Kept me up to date on how they were doing and my cats seemed very comfortable and content with her! Came home to two very happy kitties! Highly recommend and can’t wait to book with her again!❤️”
“Michael is so good with Charlie. Charlie goes straight to him and sits on his lap, enjoying the attention he is given. Instructions are followed to the letter. Michael is prompt picking up keys, and is friendly and courteous.”

“First time using Rover site . James looked after my 6 cats for 2 days and I can't thank him enough for the service , he looked after my babies like I would , followed all my instructions and he updated me on each visit which was amazing . Will definitely be using James again and again . He was polite and professional and visited at the times specified . Cannot thank James enough for looking after them.”

I genuinely love doing this meeting new people and their lovely pets. I also have two dogs and a cat of my own. So if you need someone trustworthy I’m your man! “Emma did a great job popping in to look after our two cats while we were away on holiday. Their feeding area was always kept clean and tidy, and it was reassuring knowing they were being well looked after while we were away. We were really happy with the service and are hoping to use Emma again when we go away next year. Would definitely recommend!”

“I cannot recommend Emily enough. She’s a really nice girl who obviously loves animals very much . Our dog Teddy is normally a little stressed when we come back after a trip away however when we came home earlier he showed no signs of stress whatsoever. Emily posted us regular photos and sent messages. Emily went above and beyond what we expected. . We cannot thank her enough and will recommend her to our doggy friends”

About: I’ve always grown up surrounded by animals; from fish and guinea pigs to cats, dogs, and pretty much everything in between (even African snails)! I have two dogs who are my absolute pride and joy: Harley, a rescue Chihuahua × Miniature Pinscher, and Teddy, a Yorkipoo. I also regularly mind my sister’s three sausage dogs (my beautiful nieces) and occasionally look after my auntie’s Newfoundlands. I love animals of all shapes and sizes, so rest assured your fur babies will be safe and loved with me! I work part-time from home and don’t have set hours, which means I’m pretty flexible with when I can mind your babies. As long as I have Wi-Fi to get some work done, I can come to you! I’m also available on weekends; I just ask for a bit of notice so I can plan ahead.😊 We have a large, fully fenced back garden - perfect for zoomies! My two dogs are super friendly. Harley is your typical introvert and likes his own space, so he usually takes himself off to bed when things get busy. Teddy, on the other hand, is a total extrovert who loves everyone and making new friends! We don’t see dogs as pets; they’re family. They’re welcome on the couch, the bed, and pretty much anywhere we go. I don’t own crates, but I’m happy to use yours if your pup prefers their own space or feels more comfortable sleeping in one.

About: Ive had dogs for years, my last dog had Addisons disease, so I learnt to care for dogs that require medications and more observation than most. All my dogs have been spaniels, very well behelaved and friendly. I only ever have love for all types of dogs. They are precious animals and we are their world. I work irregular hours and am sometimes away on cruise ships. But when I am home, I am home all day. Normally Daphne gets 2/3 walks through the day. As well as daily training and brain stimulation. Throughout all services I will treat the pups with respect and as if they were my own. Then dependant on the service booked I will always work toward the owners daily routines or the instructions left for the care of their wonderful pet.
About: My name is Ollie, I am 28 years old with 11 years paid Dog Walking/ Sitting experience, though I have been looking after animals for people since childhood. Through my early teens I have attended Dog Training classes with a variety of dogs to be used as a demonstrator for the classes, attended fly ball and agility classes, and pre-covid started a course in dog grooming which sadly got cancelled. I am also looking into hopefully taking a canine first aid course in the future. Whilst I have mainly worked with dogs, I have also done cat sitting and small pet visits for a few years, and I have owned and cared for every pet imaginable from Dogs and Cats to Chipmunks and Hedgehogs. For your peace of mind, I am also DBS checked so feel free to ask to see the certificate! I am currently between jobs having just moved across the country so have a completely free schedule! I don't require a lot of notice just enough time to get a train :) I have worked and cared for dogs from a variety of backgrounds and their safety and comfort is my number one priority. As long as I am aware of any behavioral issues, illnesses, fears, and requirements for your dog I will be able to tailor walks and activities to suit them. I can provide references from times when I have stayed in peoples homes.

About: I have over 6 years of hands-on experience and have personally owned a variety of breeds. I have a Belgian Malinois mix lab called Cerberus, who is currently staying in Poland with a family member. Because of the fact he is not currently living with me at the moment, I am able to board cat-friendly dogs in my home. I also have two Siberian cats, Lily and Maya, and I have had cats throughout my life, so I understand how important it is to provide a calm, safe and comfortable environment for them. I am confident caring for both energetic dogs and more sensitive animals and always take the time to understand each pet’s individual personality, routine and needs. I have recently completed my Level 3 qualification in Animal Management, giving me further knowledge of animal behaviour, welfare, handling and care. My combination of personal experience, education and genuine love for animals allows me to provide attentive and reliable care tailored to each pet. I also have a strong understanding of dog behaviour and have been learning about it for many years. I have developed a good understanding of body language, stress/anxiety, excitement and discomfort, meaning i will always prioritise the animals wellbeing to help them feel safe and comfortable. 🐾 I have recently returned from a conservation trip in South Africa meaning i am now available for pet care Monday to Friday, as well as Saturdays from 7am onwards. I am not available on Sundays. I can be flexible during the week and will always make sure I have enough time to give each pet the attention, exercise and care they need. I provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment where pets can feel comfortable and relaxed. My home has a secure garden, and I am happy to provide pictures of my home and garden so owners can see where their pets will be staying. I also live next to a large open field and a beach, giving me plenty of opportunities to provide dogs with suitable exercise, walks and fresh air. I always consider each pet’s individual needs, energy levels and temperament when planning activities. As well as walks and exercise, I can provide plenty of enrichment and playtime, including toys, interactive activities and attention throughout the day. I also have two Siberian cats, so I understand the importance of keeping pets safe and making sure introductions are handled carefully, particularly when boarding cat-friendly dogs. My priority will always be making sure every pet feels safe and comfortable while they are with me.

Lots of space to crate your dog if necessary.

About: I love all animals, from small furries to felines and dogs. I have 3 cats myself, as well as guinea pigs and bees, whom I love very much. I love walking outdoors, so I have no problem taking your dog to any great local walks and making sure they have an excellent run around and enjoy their outing. I have had a variety of animals for many years, cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters and guinea pigs. I very used to the attention and care these animals need and will make sure your pet receives the same care and attention I would give my own. I work 4 days a week during the day, I can visit your home before work and from late afternoon through the evening. I do not work weekends and would be available at anytime. I will never take a job that I cannot comfortably fit into my and the pets schedules, I will never ask that your pet change their schedule at all, they will always be with what they are used to. Caring for pets in your home is great as they are in an environment they know. I will always do a meet and greet before taking a job so that you and your pets can meet me. During this time I will take all notes regarding your pet's wants, needs and schedules, I will make sure that everything you have told me about your pet is put into practice and would never change your wishes. The main goal is that your pet is as calm as possible whilst you are away.

Emma did a great job popping in to look after our two cats while we were away on holiday. Their feeding area was always kept clean and tidy, and it was reassuring knowing they were being well looked after while we were away. We were really happy with the service and are hoping to use Emma again when we go away next year. Would definitely recommend!

Vicky was awesome with our two cats. Even though one hid and was shy (only 10 months old and wasn't used to new people) she kept us updated with everything and sent us videos of our sociable cat. Highly recommend and will definitely get her again to look after our furry peeps!

Anna was absolutely fantastic looking after our three cats while we were away for the weekend. She visited our home several times a day, and all three of our girls were happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. Her communication was excellent throughout, keeping us updated with messages and lovely photos during playtime, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. It was so reassuring to see how comfortable our cats were with her. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Anna again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and communicative pet sitter. Thank you, Anna!

Sarah was amazing looking after our two cats, we were apprehensive before going away as we have never used a cat sitter before but she made the experience a dream and put our mind at rest so quickly! She sent us daily updates which we loved and went above and beyond!
Jemma has been amazing with our little Obi, from playing in the house with him as a puppy unable to go on walks to taking him to the park once he had his vaccines! I was constantly kept in the loop and was delighted with the lovely pictures she sent. He seemed extremely happy whenever she came round and took him out as well as extra treats she bought for him. 100% recommend.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wirral choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
