Luke, his family and of course Bubbles have been absolutely amazing looking after Max. All such lovely and caring people (and pupper) would highly recommend them to look after any fluffball. They always shared loads of updates, photos and videos of their walks and their time together. Which were all lovely to see. Max always enjoyed his time and is always excited to go back :)

Jack was extremely accommodating before he looked after Billy. He was more than happy to meet up for us to get to know each other and for him to meet Billy too. Billy spent two whole days with Jack while I was working and I can tell you that Billy was jumping at the door to get into Jack's house on the 2nd day. I think the dogs reaction to a dog sitter speaks volumes and can say more than I could ever could. I would definitely use Jack's services again. Thanks Jack

About: I have been around dogs for most of my life. Currently the proud doggie Mum to Luna the Cockapoo who is our world ! We are a family of 5, my husband is an optician, studying to become an optometrist. I work part time a couple of evenings a week. We have three older children (17, 14 and 13) who are all very fond of dogs and love to make a fuss of any visiting dogs! We have a calm house, suitable for dogs who are used to being allowed on the furniture and not being left alone. My own dog is never left alone due to separation anxiety so there is always an adult at home with her and it's almost always me ! I have business insurance to care for dogs, dog first aid and boarding certificates, an up to date DBS which can be seen and we have a very dog friendly home with a fully secure back garden and no hazards. We contemplated getting a second dog as a friend for ours as she loves company but I've gone down this route instead. We are based in Thingwall, can offer flexible days and times and will provide updates when required. Any dog who comes to stay with us will receive as much attention as they like, we can follow their usual routines if that's sleeping on a bed with a human or having belly rubs all evening. The house can be calm and serene, or if the dog is more used to long walks and adventures then we can do that - I want your dog to feel at home so lots of details will be taken to ensure your dog has the best time ! There is always someone at home - usually me. If I have to nip out to pick someone up I will take any dogs with me. Most days involve a trip to the park, beach or woods, a laze on the sofa with some TV and cuddles, another walk and more cuddles ! Fully secure fenced garden, non slip floors which are cleaned regularly, a very clean and tidy home with no clutter or choking hazards. Safety checks completed - working smoke detectors, fire extinguisher, dog first aid kit. The use of doggy seatbelts and car seats when travelling. My own vet is available in an emergency but all paperwork completed beforehand will go over anything like this.

Charlene is incredibly positive and extremely attentive. Many sitters on the platform seem to treat dogs like furniture, but Charlene truly sees animals as individuals with their own personalities. We are here on holiday, and if I ever come back to this city, I wouldn’t trust my Orbit with anyone else. With Charlene I feel absolutely confident that my dog is safe, happy, and well cared for.

About: I love animals and lifeforms of all types really, I'm the type to pick up worms from the pavement and put them back on the grass. But I particularly love dogs. I have had dogs for almost my whole life (Labradors, Golden Retrievers, King Charles Cavalier, Shelties). I have looked after other people's dogs often and always enjoy the experience. Dogs are treated very well here with lots of affection and attention. Currently at home full time but I do go out for a few hours occasionally. I don't leave my dog alone for more than a few hours. When a new dog is here, it wouldn't be that long. My dog Molly is very friendly with dogs and humans. She is now completely blind so I have to take a bit of extra care with her, but she can still go for walks and enjoy her food and strokies. There is only myself and my 6 year old son at home, with Molly our Golden Retriever. We have a small yard for toileting, and we go to the park or other locations for exercise. Safety is paramount. I know what it is like to go on holiday and worry about your dog - you have no need to fear! I am very careful - I know where I am going when out and about and if dogs are let off leashes, it is in a safe environment away from roads and other hazards. I have a large ground floor which gives dogs space to be in a few different rooms. Upstairs is humans only. Meals and medication will be given according to the owner's precise schedule. I encourage a visit so that you can briefly see my home and meet us.

About: Nothing gives me greater joy than taking care of animals. I have taken care of dogs for the best part of my life with over 25 years of experience. I am currently studying towards a level 3 diploma in canine welfare & behaviour. Looking after dogs is my passion and I am at my happiest around them, wether that be with our own family pet, a six month cockapoo called Sunny or your four legged friends. I currently offer walks and drop ins and all my walks are 1:1 with your dog or dogs so I can give them my undivided attention. I want you and your fur babies to feel as comfortable as possible so I offer a meet & greet if you feel you would like that in order for me to get to know your pet and any particular needs they may have followed by a free introductory short walk to give your dog or dogs the chance to get to know me. Or if you know your dog is comfortable around new people and you'd like me to just get straight to taking your pet out that's absolutely fine too, I'm happy to just have a conversation on here to get to know your pets needs and cover some basic information such as is your dog reactive, anxious, do they have any triggers etc and most importantly are they allowed a treat whilst out and about! I am fully insured. I work from home and my diary is determined by myself so I am available most days and at short notice if needed as I can change my schedule to suit you. I am fully insured. We do have two fenced gardens, but presently I am not boarding as we have a six month old puppy that is still settling in so I am only currently offering drop ins and walks. It's important to reiterate that i do not take my dog along on walks with your pets, they will have my full attention. I have experience with both large and small dogs and I currently regularly walk a variety of different breeds. I have looked after many anxious dogs and I'm pleased to say I have never not won any of them round and it's really rewarding to earn their trust and eventually see them eagerly waiting for me to go out on an adventure. I will only ever let your dogs of the lead with your permission and if that's something you would like me to do, I generally wait until we have been on a couple of walks and know each other a bit better. I have worked with dogs that are overweight for various different reasons and have provided lots of stimulation and exercise to help them back to a healthier weight range. I have worked with dogs providing multiple drop ins and walks per day when their owners have been on holiday and I've also administered oral medication when needed. I will always follow the owners lead and I am always open to answering any questions no matter what they are as I understand that trusting someone with your pet is not always easy.

About: I work from home and been pet sit / dog walking for over years, usually taking bookings through referrals, Rover is now as an extra platform 💕 I often forget to come and block my days That's being booked offline, so feel free to DM and check 🥰😘 I love all animals, but always having a special place in the heart for dogs. Everyday is a new experience when you meet new pups & for sure is never a dull moment, and there's never been a time in my life when I didn't have a dog. I have much experience ranging from puppy to senior dogs and I believe that it is important to take each pet's individual personality and preferences into account when caring for them, and lucky for me had some real guidance from the dog whisperer Cesar Millan in person and learned quite a lot from him of how to communicate with dog better, therefore, I'm proud of myself that I have befriended anxious dogs who usually fear humans and earned the acceptance of aggressive dogs. Animals tend to like me regardless of their personalities. I'm pretty flexible, so if your dog has any special needs, or if there's anywhere in particular you'd like your dog to visit, just let me know. Looking forward to meet you and your fur babies. I work remotely running my own online business, which gives me the freedom to be flexible with dates (as long as there’s a strong internet connection—I do rely on that wherever I go). With a decent size house and back yard I'm living in, and a huge park right across the road, this would be beneficial for boarding. In addition to pet sitting, i always helped to do some simple grooming for my neighbors and mom's dog and they always loved the results. After all, love spending time with all kind of animals, I hope I get the chance to meet and care for your furry kids!

Bailey was really well looked after and had a fantastic walk at the beach with lots of new sniffs to take in. He had a bit of an upset tummy from eating fox muck the day before but fortunately no accidents in the house & just a bit of diarrhea on the walk. Sonia was really accommodating as I let her know before the visit. I would highly recommend her to anyone. *****

I left my little dog in Charlene's care while I was on holiday, and she treated him just like I do, like my baby. I was so happy. We spoke every day, and she sent me photos and videos showing that he was doing very well. I had to pick him up on Monday, but I am currently stuck in Abu Dhabi, and since she had to travel, she couldn't look after him anymore, so I found another place and she very kindly dropped him to the new hotel. She is such a lovely person, I am so grateful to her for looking after my baby and for the favour she did for me. 1000% recommended!

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Wirral

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Wirral on Rover is £31.05 per day (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 2,104 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Wirral. About 86% of Wirral sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Wirral commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
