Molly had a lovely week with Sonia and Mick. We were sent lots of pictures of Molly out and about, she was treated just like a member of their family. It was lovely to know Molly was so well looked after while we were away on holiday. Thank you both.

We couldn’t thank Jack enough for looking after our family Dog, Narla! We would 100% recommend him, we booked Jack quite last minute and he was very accommodating and I was able to meet and greet Jack in his home prior to Narla staying for the weekend, which put my mind at ease knowing she would be well looked after! Jack sent regular updates and photos throughout and treated Narla like his own! Thanks again, we will be rebooking 😊 x

We knew our dog Samson would be in good hands with Susan and her husband immediately. They were really friendly and welcoming, and Samson felt at home straight away! Susan sent us updates and photos, and was very understanding when we were delayed in traffic today. Our dog has come back relaxed, happy and ready for his next stay with Susan in a couple of weeks! 😊

Saoirse was amazing with my dixie xx I couldn’t have found any one better. Dixie hasn’t had the best experiences with boarding which has left her extremely stressed and we really needed someone to have patience, love, cuddles and time for her xx And that’s exactly what she got with Saoirse xx I received pictures, updates which made me feel incredibly calm knowing she was comfortable and in safe loving hands xxx I can’t thank you enough and how amazing and chilled she was returning home xx I will absolutely because using Saoirse again xxx see you soon xxx

About: Myself and my partner, Hayden, have grown up around dogs our entire lives and adore their company. We have experience of puppies all the way through to elderly dogs, well-behaved and those with behavioural issues. We have both been zookeepers in the past too so that really shows our love for animals and understanding of animal behaviour. We are both good with training, providing play and enrichment, and ensuring the environment is suitable depending on your dog’s needs. Our own dog just adores other dogs. She is a 2 year old German Shepherd x Rottweiler, and is still a playful pup. For this reason we do not accept the smallest dogs just in case her play is too boisterous. As you can tell in the photos, we are active people who love a long walk, and enjoy providing enrichment and play time. I am currently working full time from home, so will always be available to meet your dog’s needs. Also, my partner is around more often to provide care if I was to have a meeting. We are huge dog lovers so your dog can really treat our home like their own, including sofa cuddles, playing with our dog and joining us on days out. As we have a dog of our own, we will always fit a walk into our day. This can be done however best suits your dog I.e. multiple short walks or one big long walk. We would allow your dog to sleep anywhere downstairs in our home. Unfortunately, we do not allow dogs upstairs as this is very much our cat’s domain. We can ensure that our dog is kept separate to yours overnight though if this is best. Our home has a fenced garden with ample space to play with our resident dog. Our home is a work in progress, so we are not precious about anything. If something is damaged by your dog we will not blame them or punish them. We also don’t expect a perfectly trained dog.

Trisha, Shane & Juliet - thank you so much for looking after Socks this week after i needed to travel away for work. Socks had a fantastic time staying with you & had lots of play with Juliet, snuggles and walks with you both. You did a fantastic job of keeping me up to date on how Socks was & what she had been up doing. Have no hesitation in recommending you to others to look after their furry friends. Socks is already looking forward to visiting you all again in August. Thank you again.

I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received! From the very beginning, it was clear that my sitter genuinely loves animals and takes their responsibility seriously. Katie kept me updated with regular messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. My dog came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well looked after. It’s obvious they were given plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I also really appreciated how professional and reliable the sitter was—everything was smooth and stress-free from start to finish. I would absolutely recommend Katie to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to look after their pet. I’ll definitely be booking with her again!

About: I’ve had 3 to 5 dogs at all time growing up between my parents houses back in France, from a cocker spaniel to a golden retriever and a Great Dane, I’m used to shedding, puppies, old, big dogs… the 6am walks in the cold, you name it! I have a very chill cavapoo at home now so only accepting dogs that are okay with other male dogs (he is neutered) Im an at home artist so Im at home most of the time, If I go anywhere I just take the dogs with me ! I have 1 dog at home who is super friendly but anxiously attached so I don’t go anywhere without him. He loves having dog friends over too! I will be the sole carer of your babie(s) though we may be joined by my friends on walks ! I have a closed up garden, i have Bean my dog who will gently play with your dog too or just cuddle on the sofa. Bean sleep in my bedroom and I’m okay with letting your dog there too or crate them in other area of the house. I’m pretty easy it really depends on your preferences

Opie had a great stay! From the start, everything felt really professional—they provided a form to fill out and arranged a meet and greet beforehand, which gave me a lot of confidence. During his day and overnight stay, I was kept regularly updated on how Opie was doing and what he was getting up to, which I really appreciated. It made me feel relaxed knowing he was in good hands. Overall, a very positive experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Highly recommend!

About: We have always had dogs in the family ranging from jack Russels, labradors and Shih Tzus. We currently have a very friendly greyhound, Seamus who is both dog and cat friendly. We have a lot of experience with dog minding so let us take care of your dog with the peace of mind we will treat them like our own. We live close to the beach, parks and woodland and your dog will be out every day with us enjoying the fresh air. If your dog sleeps on the couch or bed at home then we will do the same as we know how important it is for your dog to feel comfortable and happy. We are fully insured. We are a family of 3 - myself, my husband Sean and our 5 year old daughter. I currently work 2 days a week as a district nurse. Our mother in law kindly pops in to see Seamus for us when we are in work and is happy to do the same if we ever had your dog on a working day but we would usually work around this and my husband can work from home. We go for daily walks and have local parks and the beach close by so your fur baby will be spoilt for choice for walkies! We will try and ensure we keep to a routine for your dog as we know they like their comforts! We have a fenced yard and a local park that we go to daily, we also have a closed off field near by with gates for your dog to run around if they are not great off lead, this ensures they are safe at all times. We have a local beach we also go to. Our greyhound Seamus is very friendly and is used to having dogs in the home. If your dog sleeps on the couch or bed we will accommodate this. We have a 5 year old very pet savvy little girl who absolutely loves looking after animals. Our daughter is aware to give dogs time to get used to new environments and people and she is very kind to animals so please be assured you dog will be in safe hands with her. Even though our daughter is very experienced with animals your dog would never be left alone with her so your dog will be comfortable at all times. If you would like to arrange for your dog to spend the day or night with us before you go away please let us know. At dog owners ourselves we know how important it is for you to know your dog is being left in safe hands

We had a great experience when Katie cared for our Whippet. Communication was easy through the Rover app and we received regular updates and photos which was reassuring. Alison and Andy took great care of my Chihuahua, Otto, for a couple of nights recently. From the moment I met them a few months ago, I knew they were going to be diligent, careful and responsive in the way they would look after Otto. I had no hesitation in booking Otto to be looked after by them. Otto was looked after exceptionally well by Alison and Andy. They are very experienced at looking after dogs and were very calm with Otto which helped him settle in. I gave them lots of information about Otto and they ensured they got all details before I left him with them. He had a thoroughly good time with them and they were very patient and understanding of him being unsettled at times as this was the first time he had been looked after by them. Otto had a great time and slept soundly most of the afternoon and evening after he came home! A big thank you to Alison and Andy for taking such good care of Otto!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Dog Boarding in Wirral on Rover is £36.8 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 2,174 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Wirral. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
