We couldn’t thank Jack enough for looking after our family Dog, Narla! We would 100% recommend him, we booked Jack quite last minute and he was very accommodating and I was able to meet and greet Jack in his home prior to Narla staying for the weekend, which put my mind at ease knowing she would be well looked after! Jack sent regular updates and photos throughout and treated Narla like his own! Thanks again, we will be rebooking 😊 x

Opie had a great stay! From the start, everything felt really professional—they provided a form to fill out and arranged a meet and greet beforehand, which gave me a lot of confidence. During his day and overnight stay, I was kept regularly updated on how Opie was doing and what he was getting up to, which I really appreciated. It made me feel relaxed knowing he was in good hands. Overall, a very positive experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Highly recommend!

TJ had a wonderful time with Alison and her hubby over the weekend. We visited her home a couple of weeks beforehand so that he could get to know them and become familiar with the house and garden. They clearly love dogs and he took to them straight away. He had lots of walks, treats and cuddles. I can't recommend Alison highly enough and will definitely board TJ with her again. When I am on holiday, I know that TJ is enjoying a holiday too. Thank you for giving me peace of mind and a special home from home for TJ.

Saoirse was amazing with my dixie xx I couldn’t have found any one better. Dixie hasn’t had the best experiences with boarding which has left her extremely stressed and we really needed someone to have patience, love, cuddles and time for her xx And that’s exactly what she got with Saoirse xx I received pictures, updates which made me feel incredibly calm knowing she was comfortable and in safe loving hands xxx I can’t thank you enough and how amazing and chilled she was returning home xx I will absolutely because using Saoirse again xxx see you soon xxx

I cannot thank Gugu and Steve enough. I was really nervous at first as I’ve only ever had my dogs looked after by family, however Gugu did a meet and greet with the dogs prior to boarding and put me at ease straight away, and seeing my dogs getting along with hers straight away I knew my boys would be in safe hands. Admittedly, I am a bit of a worrier when it comes to the dogs, however I was provided with frequent updates and photos which not only put me at ease, but genuinely put a massive smile on my face. The dogs were loved, cuddled, and didn’t look like they missed me at all! I’m sure I’m not the only one, but having two dogs, especially bulldogs in the family, has at times proven difficult in terms of putting restrictions on what you can and can’t do as there’s always the question of “what about the dogs”… the level of care Gugu and Steve provide goes further than looking after my two little rascals, but gives the whole family the opportunity to do more things and take more trips together, and do those things without worry. I really cannot recommend them enough and cannot thank them enough! They are SUPERB!!

About: Get to know me: Hey! I’m Trish, I’m 22 years old and I’ve recently just qualified as a Nurse. Caring for others has always been at the heart of who I am, and completing my degree in Nursing has taught me responsibility, attention to detail and how to stay calm and dependable in situations that may be stressful – all qualities that naturally roll over into how I care for pets. I’m compassionate, reliable, and organised – someone you can trust to show up consistently for you and your fur baby. I offer a calm, safe and structured environment, and I treat your pets like their part of my own family. I enjoy staying active, being outdoors and making sure that every dog in my care is happy, safe and loved. Pet care experience: As a lifelong animal lover, caring for pets isn’t just something I do – it’s something I truly enjoy. I appreciate that our pets are family, and I treat every dog in my care with the same patience, attentiveness and affection that I would want for my own. Although I’m a new member of the Rover community, I have been surrounded by dogs my entire life, so providing loving and reliable care has always come naturally to me. I’m highly attentive to behavior, energy levels, and comfort, and I adapt care to each dog’s needs while following owner instructions closely. I have a dog of my own and have also regularly cared for dogs of friends and family while they have been away on holiday, giving me experience with in-home boarding, longer stays and maintaining consistency through familiar routines. In 2019, as part of my year 10 studies, I completed work experience at a local veterinary practice, which gave me invaluable insight into animal wellbeing, handling and the importance of staying calm and gentle in various situations. This experience strengthened my confidence around dogs of all temperaments and ages, and reinforced how much I enjoy caring for animals. From energetic puppies to senior dogs, I am confident adapting to each dog’s unique personality and routine. Services and what you can expect: I take pride in providing a low stress, attentive, dependable care in a calm and nurturing environment where your dog’s wellbeing and safety always comes first. Whether your dog is staying with me, joining me for the day or venturing out on sniff approved walks, you can expect structured care tailored to their needs. With every service, for your peace of mind, I provide regular photo updates and message updates so you can feel at ease with how comfortable and content your dog is at all times. 🏠Boarding – A home away from home A calm, secure home away from home experience where your dog can enjoy a structured daily routine that is tailored to their needs, quality sniff approved walks and enrichment, plenty of affection, and a safe environment. 🐶Doggy Day Care – Fun, safe and tailored days Structured and supervised care designed around your dog’s energy levels, personality and care needs. From drop off to pick up, you can expect plenty of play and enrichment, regular walks and toilet breaks, calm rest periods and personalised attention throughout the day. 🐾Dog walking – Purposeful and sniff approved Reliable, attentive walks at your dog’s pace focusing on their happiness and wellbeing. From being picked up from your home to being dropped off, your dog will be taken on a walk that is suited to their ability and energy levels, safe handling and can benefit from reinforcement of basic training cues if required. As I’m currently not working as a Nurse, I work a part time job with my contract days being Saturday and Sunday, which means that I’m available to provide loving care and stimulating walks for your pets. My flexible weekday schedule allows me to accommodate doggy day care, weekday boardings and dog walking services, ensuring your pets get the attention, exercise and companionship they need whilst you’re away from home. Whether it’s a stimulating walk (both short and long), an all day visit or a longer boarding stay, I want to work with you to establish a routine that keeps your pet happy and comfortable. To ensure your pet feels secure and confident, consistency and safety are my main priorities. During the week, I am able to dedicate my time to play, train and bond - giving your pet plenty of affection and mental stimulation. My goal is to make weekday care seamless for both you and your pet, so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing they are in safe, caring, gentle and attentive hands. As my apartment is in a secure building with a shared garden area just outside, your pet will have plenty of space to play, explore and get the exercise they need. For longer walks and adventures, I’m just a short 5 minute drive away from Birkenhead Park and within close proximity to local beaches, the Wirral Coast Path, and other dog friendly parks. Keeping your pet safe and happy are my top priorities - when your dog is in my care, they will always be supervised during walks and playtime to ensure they feel comfortable and secure in new environments. I will also follow any specific instructions you provide so you can feel confident your furry friend is in caring, responsible hands.

The boys absolutely loved their time with them — it was clear from the moment we dropped them off that they were in wonderful hands. We received regular updates throughout their stay, which gave us such peace of mind. The photos and videos of their walks were a highlight — it was lovely to see them so happy and well looked after. Luke and his family are just the loveliest people, and it really shows in the way they care for the dogs. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a warm, attentive, and reliable family to look after their fur babies. We'll definitely be booking again!

About: I have been around dogs for most of my life. Currently the proud doggie Mum to Luna the Cockapoo who is our world ! We are a family of 5, my husband is an optician, studying to become an optometrist. I work part time a couple of evenings a week. We have three older children (17, 14 and 13) who are all very fond of dogs and love to make a fuss of any visiting dogs! We have a calm house, suitable for dogs who are used to being allowed on the furniture and not being left alone. My own dog is never left alone due to separation anxiety so there is always an adult at home with her and it's almost always me ! I have business insurance to care for dogs, dog first aid and boarding certificates, an up to date DBS which can be seen and we have a very dog friendly home with a fully secure back garden and no hazards. We contemplated getting a second dog as a friend for ours as she loves company but I've gone down this route instead. We are based in Thingwall, can offer flexible days and times and will provide updates when required. Any dog who comes to stay with us will receive as much attention as they like, we can follow their usual routines if that's sleeping on a bed with a human or having belly rubs all evening. The house can be calm and serene, or if the dog is more used to long walks and adventures then we can do that - I want your dog to feel at home so lots of details will be taken to ensure your dog has the best time ! There is always someone at home - usually me. If I have to nip out to pick someone up I will take any dogs with me. Most days involve a trip to the park, beach or woods, a laze on the sofa with some TV and cuddles, another walk and more cuddles ! Fully secure fenced garden, non slip floors which are cleaned regularly, a very clean and tidy home with no clutter or choking hazards. Safety checks completed - working smoke detectors, fire extinguisher, dog first aid kit. The use of doggy seatbelts and car seats when travelling. My own vet is available in an emergency but all paperwork completed beforehand will go over anything like this.

About: Hi, we’re a dog loving couple with a lifetime of experience caring for animals. I grew up with dogs, and my fiancé Bobby grew up on a farm surrounded by horses, cats, and dogs, so we’re very comfortable with pets of all kinds. We regularly look after my family dog Max, an energetic Staffy, as well as my brother’s fluffy Pomeranian, Chappy. This has given us hands-on experience with dogs of different sizes, breeds, and personalities. We provide a safe, loving home where your dog will get plenty of attention, exercise, and care. We look forward to welcoming your pet into our home and treating them like part of the family.” We both work full-time during the week, so we mainly offer weekend availability. As I’m a teacher, I also have school holidays and half terms off, meaning I’m available for longer stays and full weeks throughout the year. We’ll always make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. They’ll never be left alone during their stay, and we only take one booking at a time unless otherwise agreed with owners. As we’re very active, plenty of walks, playtime, and exercise will never be a problem.

I had to fly out of the country last minute and had no one to take care of my dog. Charlene was very accommodating even though it was a last minute request! No fuss at all. She sent me videos of Moffie while I was away. Moffie had a great time in her place and even met a new friend as there was another dog staying with her too during that time. If ever I need to be away again, I'd definitely trust her to look after him again! Thank you, Charlene!

Arne had a wonderful 12-night stay with Emma, Sean, and family from 17–29 August. Before his holiday, he had a little pre-visit to meet their lovely dog, Bruce, and it was clear from the start they’d be great pals. Throughout his stay, Arne and Bruce played, snuggled, and enjoyed each other’s company. We were kept updated regularly with photos and stories of Arne’s adventures, including a trip to Scotland, which was so reassuring. It was clear he was treated as part of the family. We’re so grateful to Emma, Sean, and family for welcoming Arne into their home and caring for him so well. I know Arne would be absolutely delighted to stay again. Thank you so much!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
