“Samantha was great. We met up before to ensure our dogs got on well, and she put our minds at rest that she was both competent and capable of looking after our 8 month old puppy. She also helped out at short notice when I messed up the dates.”

About: Hello, I'm Jade, self-confessed animal enthusiast. I've been working in education until recently but am about to take the plunge into the wonderful world of pet-care. Proud Mum of three wonderful rescue dogs (Lab, Lurcher and Spointer), I'm well accustomed to dogs of different sizes with very different personalities. I've also been volunteering at a local dog shelter one day a week since the start of the year, gaining more hands-on experience. I'm dog first aid trained and hold a full DBS. I'm happy to offer any dog services. This is my job and my passion, so rest assured that your dogs will have my undivided attention! This is my full-time job. I have three dogs of my own, ranging from high energy Spointer to the most relaxed, elderly Lab. I love being outdoors and walking. I have a teenager who also really loves dogs, and who also volunteers once a week at the shelter. I live in a bungalow, if boarding with us, the dogs have full use of this, no stairs for those achey older dogs. We have a fully fenced in garden which the dogs have constant access to. We live in an area where walks are in abundance. We do one big walkie a day, and a later, shorter walk. Our dogs sleep wherever they want. I am fully flexible to also dog-sit in the owner's home if required.
“Chloe took care of our little sausage dog whilst we were on holiday. She responded quickly to our texts asking about him as it was the first time we had left him. She sent us a lovely video which was very reassuring to us. He was happy and relaxed when picking him up. Thank you Chloe. You were amazing.”

“Can't recommend Ariana enough. She looked after our elderly staffy and took great care to make sure he stayed in his normal routine and was settled and happy. Lots of pictures and updates on how he was getting on. 😊”

“As Midge had never been left with strangers before we were naturally worried but there was no need as Carla looked after her very well even introducing her to the cats Carla doesn't have a garden but regular walks were provided”

I’m looking for a dog who can help me feel motivated and get out of the house and also to keep me company during tough times, specifically the darker months. I’m available all week with limited weekend availability until May. care for every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and specific needs so I can provide consistent, personalized care. In a client’s home, I respect your space and follow your instructions closely — including feeding schedules, medication (if needed), exercise routines, and any house rules. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, playtime, and affection, while also keeping their environment clean and secure. I’m happy to send regular updates and photos so you can feel at ease knowing your pet is doing well. If caring for pets in my home, I provide a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment. “Winston had the best time staying with Georgia, Jack and Colin the Cockapoo! Georgia was fantastic and kept us updated throughout Winston’s stay with regular messages and lovely photos, which was so reassuring. Winston settled in really quickly, enjoyed some lovely walks, and was very well looked after. It was clear that he was happy, comfortable, and getting lots of attention and care. In fact, when he got home, he spent the rest of the day sulking because he missed Colin so much! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Georgia, Jack and Colin, and Winston can’t wait for his next stay.”

About: I have had dogs for as long as I can remember and I currently have a greyhound called George. I have experience in caring for dogs with various needs, including those who take regular medication. I enjoy taking George out for adventurous walks and equally, cuddling up on the sofa. I have experience in dog training, including puppy training and with senior dogs. I work for the NHS and finish my shift in the afternoon, so I’m available from around 4:30 most days. My mum works from home so she will always be there to keep an eye out even if I have to pop out.

We feel that Milo was cared for well, with lots of walks and a beautiful garden to run around in. “Rover is fantastic for connecting you with genuinely caring people who look after your dog as if they were their own. Fran is clearly very experienced with both puppies and adult dogs, and even though Rio only stayed for one night, I’ll definitely be booking again. I couldn’t have wished for a better dog sitter than Ariana. I was really worried about leaving our little 12 week old pup, but I needn’t have been. Ariana ensured that Bertie was made to feel part of the family and the whole family did play a part in looking after him. Ariana was very responsive and provided photo and video updates to let us know how little Bertie was getting along. She genuinely cares for her dogs and is very knowledgeable and seeks to learn all about dog’s needs. I wholeheartedly recommend Ariana. She’s been amazing.

Helen has looked after our 2 Chihuahua's Tillie & Nala and multiple occasions and it's a surprise they come home with us after the wonderful time they spend with her. After not seeing Helen for a period of time they were soon jumping up for cuddles and made themselves at home. They are always so well looked after and go for lovely walks around the local area. Helen is more than accommodating for the girls' needs and nothing is too much trouble. We're always able to relax while away knowing that they are in such good hands. Helen provides lots of updates and videos when on walks which is always lovely to see them having such a good time. We can't recommend Helen enough and wouldn't choose anyone else to take car if the girls while we are away. Thankyou again.

This was the first time I had left my rescue dog with someone, so I was a little apprehensive in case he was a problem for Heather. I was quickly reassured by Heather's obvious experience and love for dogs. Louis had a wonderful stay, totally relaxed and happy. Heather sent photos which showed him settled and truly in a 'home from home' situation. His healthcare needs were also met without a problem. We look forward to our next stay. Highly recommended.

This was my first time using a dog sitter and Magdalena was amazing. Peach had a great time with her and Magdalena kept me posted with photos and videos. Magdalena made the whole process super easy and filled me with reassurance. I strongly recommend Magdalena as a dog sitter. Thank you very much

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
