“Arlo stayed with Roy and Mandy for a ten day period, with this being the first time being away from us for a significant amount of time. Roy and Mandy invited Arlo over to meet with him beforehand and kept us updated with daily photos and messages (Arlo was having a whale of a time). Roy and Mandy are absolutely amazing!! Thank you for looking after Arlo, we will certainly be seeing you again😊😊”

She was welcomed like one of the family and taken great care of from the minute she arrived, walks and cuddles a plenty!! I would highly recommend Max and her family for a loving nurturing home for your fur babies little holiday’s away. We will most definitely book Dooey a return stay.”

“Our little girl Fiadh absolutely loved her stay with Jake and his partner! She enjoyed lovely walks and play time in the river. We will definitely use Jake again when we are next up that way. Jake and his family are proper dog lovers. Was like he couldn't wait to meet Fiadh and formed a bond before we picked her up. 10/10”

About: We have our own little dog, Juno, who is three and I have been caring for and walking my sister's dog for 8 years as well. My partner, who I'm setting this account up with, has many many years of experience of all kinds of pets - everything from ferrets, to pigeons, to our lovely dog. She also has experience with rescue and rehabilitation. So your animal friends will be safe and cared for in our hands I work from home, so my schedule is flexible. We live in Powys and Caerphilly, travelling between the two frequently, so we can cover a wide range of areas We have a fenced garden and a very friendly little dog, called Juno, who is three. If your cat is dog friendly, Juno would also love the chance to befriend a cat. It might be her lifelong wish to become a cat, in fact. We have lots of toys, dog beds, feeding bowls, treats, etc. Animals are allowed on the furniture and bed and we would of course check diet and other needs with you first.
“Ida took wonderful care of our Sprocker Spaniel and has renewed our hope after a terrible experience at a local kennels. She is clearly very experienced and comfortable with dogs and made Kimber feel very welcome. Communication was brilliant with photo updates throughout the weekend. We’re delighted to have found someone locally who is reliable and with whom our dog is comfortable and happy. Would most definitely recommend!”

“Thank you so much for taking good care of Willow. Willow spent an evening and two days with Georgina and her family. She kept me updated on Willow's progress, which I really appreciated. Willow seemed happy and settled when we picked her up. I would recommend Georgina and her family as dog sitters! Thanks again!”

“Andrea looked after Froggie for a week recently while we were on holiday. Frog had never been away from her mother (who went to stay with friends) and had never met Andrea, or her dog, Miffy, before. Despite this, she had a wonderful time. Andrea immediately filled my husband with confidence when he dropped Froggie off - she clearly had lots of experience with dogs. We had daily updates and videos, so felt constantly reassured Frog was happy. Frog can be nervous and lacking in confidence, especially with new people and dogs, but she clearly wasn't with Andrea and Miffy, who both welcomed her so beautifully - she was even allowed on the bed! She wasn't quite as pleased to see us as we had anticipated - I think she definitely wanted to stay longer! I would 100% recommend Andrea and we will definitely be using her again!”
About: As an animal welfare and behaviour graduate from Hartpury University, I bring a wealth of experience to ensure the best care for your beloved pets. With a background in pet sitting for dogs and cats of various ages and breeds, coupled with walking neighbors' pets, I understand the unique needs of each furry friend. My extensive work in animal shelters, including walking, medicating, training, and cleaning various species, has equipped me with a versatile skill set. Trust me to provide compassionate and reliable pet care that goes beyond the basics. Your pets are in good hands with my commitment to their well-being and happiness. Pet care is a big part of my daily routine, both professionally and personally. I have dogs of my own, so caring for animals is already built into my day, whether it’s walking, feeding, training, or simply spending quality time with them. I also have experience walking and caring for dogs of various ages and temperaments, so I naturally make time for their needs. During the school holidays, I have even more flexibility to dedicate my time to pet care, ensuring your pets get the attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a pet owner’s home, I always aim to provide a calm, safe, and loving environment. I take the time to get to know each pet’s routine, preferences, and personality so I can tailor their care to what makes them most comfortable. At my home, I have private fields where dogs can enjoy safe, secure walks, as well as plenty of space to relax and play. I keep things clean, enriching, and consistent, whether that means sticking to a pet’s usual feeding schedule, giving medication if needed, or just offering companionship and cuddles. In a pet owner’s home, I follow all instructions closely to make sure their pet feels secure and cared for in their familiar environment.
“Angus had a fantastic stay with Amber. He was so well cared for and the messages, pictures and video were really appreciated and made us smile. He settled in very quickly and we were really able to relax and enjoy our stay knowing that he was in safe hands. Highly recommend.”

About: I have 4 little yorkies at home, I also help my family with pet sitting when needed. My dogs are very friendly, loud at first but they calm down eventually, we have few dogs coming to my house and some stay for sleepover as I also use my little boy as stud so my dogs are used to other dogs and my children are pet lovers too. They always want every dog to stay in our house forever. I decided to make my service official as I know how hard it is when you want to go for a holiday and you need to leave your hairy babies behind. I have had dogs all my life and also other pets. I work nights as a bank position so I pick my own hours and slmy dogs are never left alone and I only work when I am not busy doing something else. I am at home every day, also I am very lucky to live where I live so the dogs have enough space for walking and running and I have quite satisfying garden. I stay at home during the day, my family is at home during the nights I am working. My pets are very spoiled as they get a lot of kisses and cuddles and they are very needy babies, my kids also love animals especially dogs.

Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
