“Ben and Rebecca have been caring for our three and a half-month-old Roger for almost a week. We were concerned about his interaction with other dogs as he is still a young puppy and easily frightened. Ben and Rebecca were exceptional with our boy. They have provided excellent care, taught him how to play with other dogs, adhered to his usual routine and treated him as if he were their own. Ben kept us regularly updated and sent us numerous videos and photographs. When we returned to collect Roger he appeared very happy and comfortable. He frequently sought cuddles from Ben and Rebecca. Ben and Rebecca, thank you for looking after our Roger. You are both fantastic! Roger will be delighted to return and spend more time with you. Thank you again for being so great with our boy.”

“Kassandra and Maggie are Superb. Made to feel so welcome from the first contact, visit and through to the stay. Kept up to date with loads of pics and texts. Knew we had left pur pup in safe and loving hands Thank you sooooo much”

“Bentley had a fantastic long weekend with Helen and her Family, he was extremely well cared for and spoilt as we would do with 5 star treatment. He’s currently missing his new friend the Great Dane, he wants to remain pawpals 🤩 I would recommend and will certainly use Helen again. Thank you for looking after our pampered pooch as we would Polly, Hamish and of course Bentley”

“Thank you Sarah for allowing our two frenchies (aka trouble makers) to stay with you. They've had a wonderful stay and can't wait to be back again soon. Thank you also for the fantastic photo's and keeping us updated during our holiday.”

“Excellent from start to finish. Lovely photos to see how Marj was enjoyed her stay. Professional, competent, caring, fun loving Pet sitter. Will recommend and use again. Thank you for such great care.”

About: Hi I'm Kim, an enthusiastic do lover from birth. I've always been around dogs from a young age. I've cared and loved my own terrier for 5 years now and he is the loveliest little boy you will ever meet. It can be a nervous time trusting a stranger with your fur baby but my aim is to treat your dog as if they were my own. I am more then happy to broaden my experience and care for other breeds and wonderful animals. I will also send you photos and videos and keep you updated on what your doggo is up to I live in a friendly neighbourhood in a cosy, and safe environment with a fenced off garden to run around in. I regularly go out for walks with my dog the same time every day. I try and mix things up and visit different places or routes to make it interesting. Feeding is also part of the routine at the same time, day and night. Your dog will have toys to play with and a friend to socialise with in my very cosy and open home. Dogs have free reign of the whole house, Chilling on the sofa or cuddles in bed, water is regularly topped up and an abundant of treats are always on stand by
“I was quite anxious leaving Elsa for the Easter weekend, but Sheila put me at ease from the very first meet-and-greet. Throughout Elsa’s stay, we received frequent updates and pictures that reassured me. Elsa clearly had a wonderful time, and I would absolutely trust Sheila again without hesitation. Thanks so much for looking after my baby so well ❤️”

“Natalia and Neil have been amazing with my bulldog Norman. He isn't use to being away from home but Natalia has been so patient and kind to him .sending me videos throughout Norman's sleepover .we are having our first holiday without him soon so are having some trial stays .I cannot recommend Natalia and Neil highly enough”

About: As well as many years experience caring for my own dogs at home, I have previously run a dog care business, looking after many dogs of different ages, sizes, breeds and personalities. I have a certificate in Dog Training Essentials, and have even volunteered to look after wildlife abroad. (Not that I can accommodate elephants and cheetahs at home, but you know - I like caring for animals.) I'm a lifelong dog lover and really believe they are our family members to be cherished. Apart from part of my week revolving around school run times, I'm generally at or near home so your dog wouldn't be left alone for too long. I have a small enclosed garden that can be used for toileting and play with my little friendly terrier. Our home is your dog's home.

“Carlos is amazing. He’s reasonably priced, super reliable and very friendly. I was worried about leaving my dog as she has bad separation anxiety but she had a great time with the whole family and his dog. 10/10 would recommend and will be using again in the future.”

“The perfect dog boarding experience provided by a lovely couple who adore dogs, in an idyllic peaceful countryside setting with excellent communication throughout. Our two larger breed (lurcher & greyhound) dogs were looked after brilliantly and quickly built a trusting bond with Tracy and Seb. Their home and gardens are stunning and they are so warm, welcoming and accommodating- it truly is a beautiful holiday for your dogs while you’re away. ❤️ Do I want to gatekeep you guys? Yes. Would I recommend you to absolutely everyone though? In a heartbeat.”

“Ziggy had a great time staying with Lyndsey and her family. He settled immediately and I received regular updates. It was obvious he was well cared for, and he was rekaxed and happy when I picked him up, I wouldn’t hesitate to book another stay.”

“Darbie had a great time at Terry and Chris's. She enjoyed the 1 to 1 attention as she is not good with other dogs and small children and can be quite a handful at times, but she really enjoyed the relaxed calm atmosphere that they provided. We will have to get her eating her veg though hahahaha”

“I feel like I have won the lottery after meeting Laura. She has been a brilliant carer for Bertie. Right from the meet and greet I could see how lovely she is. Very friendly and passionate about animals. I felt very reassured that Bertie was being loved during his stay and I will definitely recommend Laura to anyone who wants a loving family environment for their pet. So glad to have met Laura and her family.”

“Gemma looked after my little dog Lottie fantastically. Great communication while I was away. She clearly loves doggies and was confident and competent too. Will ask Gemma again next time we need doggy care”

“James and his family took great care of our puppy Stitch with regular updates and photos. The price is very reasonable and James was flexible with times for dropping off and collecting which was helpful. Stitch came back a happy pup and we have already booked for our next trip - thanks again! 🐶”

This was the first time that I’d left Cleo to board overnight with a pet sitter so was nervous about leaving her however Kassandra made her very welcome & ensured that Cleo was comfortable. I had regular updates & photos reassuring me that despite being a little unsettled for a short while, Cleo was doing just fine, making me more than happy to book with Kassandra again. Thank you so much for making us both welcome.

Lucie was great. She even accommodated a very last minute change and took Stanley a day early at very short notice when we had a family emergency. Stanley had a fantastic time and was happy and tired when I picked him up. He was so comfortable he didn't want to leave!

I left my lovely Collie with Sarah for a long weekend. Sarah couldn’t have been more accommodating with the dates and she always gets back to me quickly when I want to make a booking. She sent beautiful photos of Flossie out on a walk while I was away and I know that my collie will be well exercised and safe with Sarah. Flossie has stayed a number of times with Sarah and she is always excited to see her and happy to go with her so I know that Flossie is loved and cared for beautifully when I’m away.

Emily and Dickie looked after my Dalmatian Oddie for me and gave him the absolute best time. He has been treated like a king! It was such a weight off my shoulders knowing that he was happy and being looked after so well. I loved having photos and videos sent of him while I was away. Emily and Dickie are both so lovely. Even with me moving quite a distance away soon I would 100% choose Emily and Dickie again. Thank you to you both again I am so greatful!

Emma was fantastic with Tinkerbell and Charlie. Very attentive and proactive. Especially with my older dog who had a small problem, however Emma acted quickly and compassionately and kept me updated. Emma sent lovely pictures of them enjoying walks, and cuddles on the sofa. Would definitely use her again.. if she is willing!

I have picked up my Jack Russell Milo from his holiday stay with Briony today and he looks very well and happy, although he was very pleased to see us, he was calm and content as well. I had great messages and photos from Briony while we were away keeping us informed of Milo’s day’s activities, which my granddaughters loved to see. I am very happy with the care Milo has received while he has been with Briony and her family and would gladly send Milo for another stay. It is a great relief to know your dog is having a good time while you’re away on holiday.

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
