“It was the first time we have used dog sitters for Bruno,he is a 2 year old lively Labradoodle, I needn't of worried,he had the best time with Helen & her family. He settled in perfectly,Helen followed instructions & kept me updated,he had an amazing time playing with the other dogs especially the spaniel,Helen & her family treated Bruno like one of theirs, lots of cuddles & attention. Was so pleased as we were at a wedding in Shrewsbury & it gave us peace of mind.Would definitely recommend Helen & Family”

“Ben and Rebecca have been caring for our three and a half-month-old Roger for almost a week. We were concerned about his interaction with other dogs as he is still a young puppy and easily frightened. Ben and Rebecca were exceptional with our boy. They have provided excellent care, taught him how to play with other dogs, adhered to his usual routine and treated him as if he were their own. Ben kept us regularly updated and sent us numerous videos and photographs. When we returned to collect Roger he appeared very happy and comfortable. He frequently sought cuddles from Ben and Rebecca. Ben and Rebecca, thank you for looking after our Roger. You are both fantastic! Roger will be delighted to return and spend more time with you. Thank you again for being so great with our boy.”

“River has had her first overnight stay with Lucie and it went great 🐾 We received updates throughout and River appeared happy & content when we collected her. Thank you Lucie 💜”

About: As a teacher, I am naturally patient, reliable and caring, and I bring those same qualities to looking after animals. I absolutely adore pets and treat every animal as if they were my own. I do not have children, so my own dog is very much my baby, and I understand how important it is to find someone you can completely trust with your pet. I have experience caring for both cats and dogs, including looking after neighbours’ pets while they are away on holiday, regularly caring for my parents’ and sister’s pets, and dog walking for elderly neighbours. I am confident with animals of different ages and temperaments and always take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable and loved. What sets me apart is the level of care and attention I give to every pet. I know every animal has their own routine, personality and needs, and I am happy to adapt to what makes them happiest. Whether that is long walks, lots of play and attention, or a calm and gentle approach for older or more nervous pets, I will always provide the same level of care that I would expect for my own dog. I currently have 6 weeks off over the summer holidays. Due to not having children, I can be incredibly flexible with pet care. I take my own dog for 3 walks a day anyway and enjoy physical activity. I have one cavapoo boy dog who absolutely loves company. We have a lovely fenced garden that we will often play in, an endless supply of toys and even a small paddling pool for the summer hotter months.
“Thank you so much to Natalia and Neil for taking such good care of Seren. She looked like she had the best time hanging out and predicting the England score (correctly might I add 😆). If we find ourselves passing through Shrewsbury again, we have no doubt that Seren would be happy with them.”

“Excellent from start to finish. Lovely photos to see how Marj was enjoyed her stay. Professional, competent, caring, fun loving Pet sitter. Will recommend and use again. Thank you for such great care.”

“Dave was a fantastic sitter for my very timid whippet he was so patient with her and took time to understand her ‘unique ways’ I would definitely ask Dave to look after Cagney again.”

“Huge thank you to Abbi and Louke. Very nice people, felt very comfortable leaving my Dog Amber with them. They sent loads of photos and kept me updated during her stay. Amber looked like she had the best time. I would 100 percent use them again and recommend. Thanks again guys will get in contact when we are going away again.”

About: Hi I'm Kim, an enthusiastic do lover from birth. I've always been around dogs from a young age. I've cared and loved my own terrier for 5 years now and he is the loveliest little boy you will ever meet. It can be a nervous time trusting a stranger with your fur baby but my aim is to treat your dog as if they were my own. I am more then happy to broaden my experience and care for other breeds and wonderful animals. I will also send you photos and videos and keep you updated on what your doggo is up to I live in a friendly neighbourhood in a cosy, and safe environment with a fenced off garden to run around in. I regularly go out for walks with my dog the same time every day. I try and mix things up and visit different places or routes to make it interesting. Feeding is also part of the routine at the same time, day and night. Your dog will have toys to play with and a friend to socialise with in my very cosy and open home. Dogs have free reign of the whole house, Chilling on the sofa or cuddles in bed, water is regularly topped up and an abundant of treats are always on stand by

“Carlos is amazing. He’s reasonably priced, super reliable and very friendly. I was worried about leaving my dog as she has bad separation anxiety but she had a great time with the whole family and his dog. 10/10 would recommend and will be using again in the future.”

“Elena looked after Parker for us for two nights. We had met her before at an arranged meet and greet-which went really well. Whilst Parker was in Elena’s care, she kindly sent us regular updates with photographs, so we knew he was ok. Gave us a summary of how he had been on collection. Would recommend Elena. Thank you for having Parker for us.”

“Dusty, our Weimaraner, had an amazing staycation with Lyndsey - she was so well cared for, taken on lots of lovely long walks and treated as a member of the family. Lyndsey took the time to get to know Dusty at the meet and greet, and we even went on a short walk together. It was lovely to receive regular updates and photos during the stay, and Dusty was relaxed and well-adjusted when it was time to come home. I feel very lucky to have found Lyndsey - would highly recommend and will ask to book again.”

“Laura was an absolute god send, she had our dog whilst we went away on holiday for almost 2 weeks. She is a very lovely person and it was really reassuring knowing our dog was so well looked after. Laura was very accommodating to lulu's usual routine, and wanted her to feel totally at home. She had the run of the house and was even allowed to sleep on the bed like she does at home. She had the best time with Laura and her family, who also spoilt her with lots of attention and cuddles (even doggy ice cream). We are extremely grateful and would not choose anyone else to look after her when we go away again in the future. Thank you so much Laura!”

“Highly recommend! I felt incredibly comfortable leaving our dog with Rebecca. Her experience and love for dogs was obvious right from the start. Plus, her excellent communication and regular updates were so helpful and reassuring while we were away. I will definitely book with her again and recommend to anyone looking for this service. Thank you 😊”

“Bonnie had a wonderful time! I was a bit nervous with it being her first time being away from home but I had plenty of updates and pictures which put my mind at ease! Bonnie can be a nervous girl but Kin assured me she would be in good hands! I will be recommending to anyone looking for boarding and will be booking again in the future!”

“Thank you so much for having Storm and Penny, they loved it with Charlie, she kept me updated with pictures, I had a mix up with dates and Charlie was so good with accommodating this, amazing communication before and during their stay, I would 100% use her again, thank you so much!”

100% recommend!! Kass has been brilliant in looking after Frankie. It was his first time being away from us for a week and he has been so well cared for. He has loved being in a home environment with Kass, her family and her dog Maggie. It has been great to receive photos and updates too. Won't hesitate in booking again x

Arlo had the best time staying with Eleanor, Mitch and Percy! He was so well cared for and Eleanor kept us updated regularly throughout his stay, which gave us complete peace of mind. The pick-up and drop-off was a brilliant added bonus and made everything really convenient. Arlo came home happy and clearly very comfortable after his stay. Would definitely recommend Eleanor and will happily book with her again! Thanks so much Eleanor 🐾

I was really nervous about finding pet care for my older rescue dog Betsy. After finding out a local kennels didn’t even walk the dogs who boarded I was then recommended Rover. After reading a number of profiles I came across Abbie. She was fairly priced and described a lovely service. We met one evening and I immediately knew Betsy would be safe with Abbie. We dropped Betsy off the morning of a 11 night holiday and as soon as we arrived at Abbie’s home I knew Betsy was going to be in the right place with the right person while we were away. Abbie sent regular updates of how Betsy was getting on, showing she was comfortable and settled. Betsy enjoyed her daily walks and Abbie and looked very content just like at home. If you’re worried about booking your dog to stay with a dog sitter don’t, if you find someone like Abbie you will have absolutely nothing to worry about. This was the best chocie for us and I would choose Abbie to look after Betsy again and again. Betsy came home happy , and I’m quite sure she’s missing Abbie also! Thank you Abbie for looking after Betsy so well!

Mya had a great stay with Natalia and her Partner and was beautifully cared for. She very obviously didn't want to leave yesterday and was a little morose when we returned home. She cheered up with a long walk however. I was very impressed by Natalias confidence at letting Mya off the lead & her excellent training skills. Thank you for taking great care of Mya.

Emily and Dickie looked after my Dalmatian Oddie for me and gave him the absolute best time. He has been treated like a king! It was such a weight off my shoulders knowing that he was happy and being looked after so well. I loved having photos and videos sent of him while I was away. Emily and Dickie are both so lovely. Even with me moving quite a distance away soon I would 100% choose Emily and Dickie again. Thank you to you both again I am so greatful!

Emma was fantastic with Tinkerbell and Charlie. Very attentive and proactive. Especially with my older dog who had a small problem, however Emma acted quickly and compassionately and kept me updated. Emma sent lovely pictures of them enjoying walks, and cuddles on the sofa. Would definitely use her again.. if she is willing!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
