“Leigh looked after our 3 year old cavapoo for 5 nights without any issues at all. We received daily updates of how she was getting on in the form of photos. She had plenty of walks and cuddles. Would highly recommend Leigh for your boarding needs. Will definitely be returning once our next trip away is booked. Thanks Leigh”

“Bertie had a great time, plenty of walks and came home happy and healthy. Curtis was a very pleasant and personable guy, who seems to genuinely love dogs. I will definitely use him again, this way is not only cheaper than kennels but I feel Bertie got one to one care from someone who genuinely loved looking after him. Cheers Curtis”

About: Always had a dog around me since I was a kid. Love the company of a furry friend. Would accommodate their needs. Would also provide exceptional care while their stay, such as brushing, cuddling, pet massages and more treatments to ensure your pet is satisfied. Working from home and would be keeping company of any pets day long. Would be able to frequently take them out on walks to ensure I meet their needs. My garden is fully fenced, I’m always aware of the open doors to ensure there are no escapes. My house is dog and pet friendly, my little dog (Pomeranian) is friendly and would not bother our guests 😄
“Samuel looked after our Cockerpoo Suzie when we went the lakes. Responded very quickly and kept us updated throughout our holiday, I feel our dog was sad to go haha. But highly recommend and in the near future, if needed again, I will definitely use Samuel again.”

“Josie was AMAZING with Bentley in every way possible, went above and beyond so much so that we extended his stay with her. My dog is not the easiest to look after and Josie exceeded our expectations, she is a natural! Will definitely be using Josie again and highly recommend her!”

“Jessica was absolutely brilliant with our dog Ben! She looked after him overnight for us the night before our wedding, which gave us one less thing to worry about during such a busy and important time. She was so caring and went above and beyond by even bathing Ben for us! He came back happy, clean and clearly very well looked after. We couldn’t have asked for anyone better to look after him, and we would definitely recommend Jessica to anyone looking for a kind, trustworthy and caring dog sitter. Thank you so much! 🐾❤️”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Stafford
First time using Rover as family normally has my dog, however due to no availability I wanted to my dog to be somewhere that feels like home! I stumbled across Stephanie's page and what a great choice I made! Stephanie and her family have been amazing with Lola, they welcomed her like their own and updates along with pictures were sent to me regularly! I knew Lola had a great time due to seeing how comfortable she was in all the pictures Stephanie sent. They followed every detail from food and care, to love and comfort. They are very easy to talk to and reassure you that your pet is in the best hands! Their dog bailey is super sweet also! He was amazing with Lola and shares his home happily! We would highly recommend Stephanie and family. We will sure use them again!

This was Mickey’s second stay with Sophie having stayed for 2-and-a-bit weeks in August. He loved going back, went straight in and made himself at home. Unfortunately Mickey was taken ill while we were away but Sophie was amazing, taking him and picking him up from the vet, giving us regular updates - nothing was too much trouble. Thank you again for looking after our boy so well!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
