Simona made our dog sitting experience very straightforward. She made sure we had the opportunity to meet before Myst actually stayed. We were sent a few updates during Myst's stay. Myst seemed very relaxed when we picked her up.

Maria and her children looked after Dexter for 3 nights whilst I was away on holiday. Dexter was upset on the first night and Marie’s comforted him to make sure he settled in quickly. Her children were great with him too and I received updates during his stay. Thanks for looking after him so well

Tara looked after our French Bulldog Winston in her home. She cared for him as if he were her own dog and made him part of the family. I couldn’t have asked for more. She sent me pictures and messages to keep me updated and I would definitely recommend her

Cloud is a very clever dog and I am quite sure he knew where we were heading on the train. The train dorrs opened and he almost leapt into Jo's arms he was so pleased to see her. I think Jo was rather pleased to see him too! Absolutely no qualms about leaving Cloud with Jo - in fact I've just requested another stay.

About: I’m a dog lover and experienced owner of a friendly 5-year old labradoodle. I work full-time in consulting from home. Because I’m home during the day, your dog will have company, regular attention, and plenty of breaks rather than being left alone for long periods. My daily routine includes shorter daytime walks and play breaks, with longer walks before and after work to make sure dogs are well exercised and settled. I have lots of toys (our own dog is a happy shredder) and a calm, comfortable home where dogs can play, relax and snooze between activities. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your dog and I’ll care for yours as if they’re part of the family, following your routines and any special requirements. Typical schedule: 7am - adventure walk or training walk (heel, tricks, new roads and new sniffs) Lunch - stretch the legs After work - relaxed walk After dinner - quick lap All routines can be tailored to ensure your dog settles. Child free environment. Enrichment and positive enforcement training. Happy to follow schedules outlined by you and provide regular updates. Friendly Labradoodle at home who is neutered. He does like to bark at new visitors but quickly settles!

Our two dogs (21 months and 5 months old) stayed with Anca-Andreea at very short notice when our plans for holiday cover fell through due to unforseen work commitments. We found her to be very good at communicating and she was kind and gentle with the dogs, who clearly bonded with her. We felt confident they were safe and well cared for and she met their needs so we were able to relax and enjoy our time away. Thank you Anca!

About: I’ve always had pets in my family, so I’ve looked after cats and dogs from a young age. I have also looked after senior dogs and puppies for other family members/friends. I have 1 loveable puppy (Labrador named Reggie) and 2 cats (Bean and Delilah). The cats are like 2 peas in and pod and I’ve had them since they were tiny. Reggie is high energy and loves being around other dogs. I used to really enjoy taking my old dog (Nora) on long walks- whether that’s to a park or in the countryside. I am in full-time employment. When I am working, my partner is at home. I am available after 5pm most days due to my working hours, but I am available for majority of weekends. My dog has been crate trained from a very young age. Our garden isn’t very big, but the walks that he goes on make up for it.

About: I have most weekends available for boarding at my home. I have a dog of my own who is very very friendly and gets on with all dogs she meets. She loves to play and she will share her toys!! Due to her not being neutered I do not accept male dogs at the moment. I would love to take care of your dog in my home, perhaps you need a weekend break. I have a genuine passion for dogs and there will be lots of love, care and treats available. I do not drive so your pet would need to be dropped off and picked up at agreed times :) I work during the week and have my own little sweetheart, 🐾 I am available at weekends and some Friday nights can be agreed also with notice. I have a small terraced house with small secure garden for toileting. I am happy to walk your dog at the local church/park a few mins down the road where there is plentiful grass and space to roam.

It was Melody’s first time staying with Marni and it was a very good experience! Marni was so sweet and caring — she kept us updated with photos and videos, took Melody on great walks, and Melody absolutely loved playing with her cute dogs. We could tell she felt right at home. We’re really happy and grateful, and we’ll definitely leave Melody with Marni again. Thank you so much for everything!

Helena is fantastic! Our little Olive spent the day at Helena’s home whilst I was at work. Helena was flexible with drop off and pick up times which I instantly thought was really helpful. I felt reassured that Olive was being cared for and Helena provided updates and photos throughout the day which I loved to see! It is clear to see that Helena has a genuine love and passion for animals, Olive loved her stay. Would definitely recommend Helena to others, she has a lovely approach. I hope Olive can come back again soon 😊🐾

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was very young. I have 3 dogs currently (staffy, Labrador and husky cross collie) and I take them on multiple walks daily. I also trained them from when they were puppies. As well as that, I used to pet sit my families golden retriever puppies and their cats as well. I also have 2 cats and I know my way around them. I am currently working full time, however I am available Mondays and Tuesdays at any time. My schedule changes every week but your dogs will get the exercise they require. I won’t be able to take your dogs into my home, due to not having sufficient space in the house or garden. However, I will be able to take them for long walks.

About: I have had dogs my whole life. I have had Cavaliers for the last 20 years, two from puppies and 2 rescue, ex breeders, I currently have an older Cavalier who is 12 and a miniature dachshund who is 7. They are both very good natured dogs who love meeting others. I have experience administering medication and my house is set up with steps up to the settee and bed. I am a nurse and currently work nights but am available on my nights off to look after your special doggo. If I am not at work I am generally relaxing at home with the girls or going out for a walk. I have a secure garden and am seconds away from a Wolstanton Marsh park where I enjoy taking my 2 out each day. My dogs are very friendly. I have a house full of snuffle toys that my two really enjoy.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
