“Alison is a lovely lady and along with Alan they both obviously love dogs. They sent photos during Rinka's stay, showing her out on walks and snuggled up on the sofa. They were very easy to communicate with. I will definitely be booking Alison again.”

“Maria and her children looked after Dexter for 3 nights whilst I was away on holiday. Dexter was upset on the first night and Marie’s comforted him to make sure he settled in quickly. Her children were great with him too and I received updates during his stay. Thanks for looking after him so well”

“Simona made our dog sitting experience very straightforward. She made sure we had the opportunity to meet before Myst actually stayed. We were sent a few updates during Myst's stay. Myst seemed very relaxed when we picked her up.”

“Colette and Rich were both brilliant. I could relax during my holiday knowing that Sienna was well looked after. Had numerous updates and pictures for peace of mind. I'll 100% be using them both again in the future if they can put up with Siennas energy again. Thank you both so much”

“Jaine and Marllon were amazing with our Melody! She stayed with them overnight and was so well looked after. They kept us updated with photos, videos, and messages, which made us feel totally at ease. It was clear she felt right at home, had fun and attention! They’re super sweet, caring, and responsible — we’ll definitely leave Melody with them again and totally recommend them!”

“Hayley looked after our border collie, Bella for 11 days while we were on holiday. From the initial contact she replied to messages quickly was friendly and accommodatiing to any requests and after the "meet and greet" I had no concerns about Bella being well looked after. Hayley sent us regular messages and photos to show Bella was living her best life! I would have no hesitation in recommending Hayley to anyone and would entrust our dog with Hayley again in the future. Thank you for giving us the peace of mind that Bella was ok so we could enjoy our break.”

About: I have experience in taking care of cats, dogs and rabbits. My mum is a cat breeder so I have a lot of knowledge on cats. Pet care fits perfectly into my routine! I currently work part-time (Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays between 10-6), which gives me plenty of open windows throughout the week for midday dog walks and drop-in visits. Because I manage my own time closely, I can easily prioritise consistent potty breaks, feeding schedules, and dedicated playtime for your cats and dogs. Safety is my absolute top priority. When walking dogs, I always use secure leashes, stay highly alert to our surroundings, and never let them off-lead unless in a safely designated area. When visiting your home, I strictly follow your specific instructions, ensure doors and gates are locked tight, and keep a close eye on your cats to make sure they are safe, comfortable, and happy.

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Newcastle-under-Lyme
This was our first time leaving Baxter with anybody outside the family and we had also very recently lost his sister, who he was due to board with, so there was added stress on my part about leaving him while we went away. Colette was amazing, and made sure that she got to know Baxter before he stayed with her and Rich. She ensured that Baxter was comfortable with their surroundings prior to his stay. We went for walks together, and he went to stay with them for a full day before his week long stay. Any worries were completely dissolved when we received our daily updates and pictures of what Baxter was getting up to, from joining in with Colette's daily yoga routine, to pictures of him enjoying his walks with Reggie and Tyler, we could tell that Baxter was thoroughly enjoying his time with them. We will defiantly be using Colette again, and I would highly recommend her and Rich to anybody.
Thank you both so much for looking after Oscar for the first time while we went to see Strictly. We were so grateful knowing he was in such kind, caring and loving hands. It was clear how much consideration and affection you showed him, and it meant the world to us to know he was so well looked after and happy with his two walks and lots of loves and tummy tickles. Your warmth, patience and genuine care for Oscar made us feel completely at ease, and we honestly can’t thank you enough. We feel very lucky to have found such lovely people that are happy to look after him.

Straight from the first meet and greet I could tell my dog Piper was going to have an amazing time, brilliant space, garden was perfect and secure! Lots and lots of great toys, lovely big dog bed! All the way through the stay I had regular videos, photos and updates, was so lovely to see how happy and well looked after Piper was. I cant praise Danielle and her partner enough, thank you and will deffiently will use again!

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
