Alison is a lovely lady and along with Alan they both obviously love dogs. They sent photos during Rinka's stay, showing her out on walks and snuggled up on the sofa. They were very easy to communicate with. I will definitely be booking Alison again.

Simona was great looking after my dog Skye, I was away for 3 nights over Christmas and Skye required some extra care and Simona did a great job, sent regular updates and was a pleasure to deal with. I would definitely hire her again!

Maria and her children looked after Dexter for 3 nights whilst I was away on holiday. Dexter was upset on the first night and Marie’s comforted him to make sure he settled in quickly. Her children were great with him too and I received updates during his stay. Thanks for looking after him so well

We left our nearly 14 year old Jack Russell with Marlon and Jaine for a few days whilst we were on a trip. She’s pretty deaf and showing signs of her age, also a bit nervous and just becoming a bit of a grumpy old woman really. She absolutely loved her stay and didn’t want to come home at the end of it. She was so well looked after and we loved getting the regular updates and pictures of how she was getting on. Can’t thank Marlon and Jaine enough and we will definitely be using them again in the future. Very highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks so much.

Hayley looked after our border collie, Bella for 11 days while we were on holiday. From the initial contact she replied to messages quickly was friendly and accommodatiing to any requests and after the "meet and greet" I had no concerns about Bella being well looked after. Hayley sent us regular messages and photos to show Bella was living her best life! I would have no hesitation in recommending Hayley to anyone and would entrust our dog with Hayley again in the future. Thank you for giving us the peace of mind that Bella was ok so we could enjoy our break.

About: I’ve been a cat owner for nearly four years and currently have three cats of my own – Belle (Domestic Long Hair), Elsie (Ragdoll) and Dobby (Domestic Short Hair). Caring for them has given me hands-on experience with cats of different personalities, temperaments and needs. I grew up around rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs and cats, so I’ve always been surrounded by animals. While I now only own cats, I still have experience caring for my family’s dog, so I’m comfortable around dogs as well. I also have experience caring for cats with medical conditions and administering medication. My Ragdoll, Elsie, was unwell for an extended period and required daily medication before she was successfully weaned off it. She now has a specialist gastrointestinal diet, so I’m confident following feeding plans, administering medication and monitoring a cat’s health. In addition to caring for my own cats, I’ve helped search for missing and stray cats alongside a local cat rescue. I’m passionate about animal welfare and believe every pet deserves to feel safe, loved and well cared for. I will always treat your pets with the same love, patience and attention that I give my own. I currently work fully remotely, with core working hours of 10:00am–3:00pm. Outside of these hours, I have the flexibility to manage my workload, allowing me to fit pet visits and care around my schedule. I also have my own car, so I’m happy to travel to care for your pets. I’m based in Trentham, Stoke-on-Trent, but I’m willing to travel to surrounding areas to provide reliable, loving care for your furry family members. I live in a two-bedroom semi-detached home with a secure, fenced garden, providing a safe outdoor space if required. My home is situated in a quiet residential area with plenty of local walking routes nearby, making it ideal for calm and enjoyable walks. I’ll always follow your pet’s usual routine, including feeding schedules, medication, exercise and any specific care instructions, to ensure they feel comfortable, safe and settled while in my care.

About: I have most weekends available for boarding at my home. I have a dog of my own who is very very friendly and gets on with all dogs she meets. She loves to play and she will share her toys!! Due to her not being neutered I do not accept male dogs at the moment. I would love to take care of your dog in my home, perhaps you need a weekend break. I have a genuine passion for dogs and there will be lots of love, care and treats available. I do not drive so your pet would need to be dropped off and picked up at agreed times :) I work during the week and have my own little sweetheart, 🐾 I am available at weekends and some Friday nights can be agreed also with notice. I have a small terraced house with small secure garden for toileting. I am happy to walk your dog at the local church/park a few mins down the road where there is plentiful grass and space to roam.

About: Hi, I’m Lillian! I’m a genuine dog lover and I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone you can trust. I provide a calm, safe and loving home where your dog will be treated like part of the family. I only accept one owner’s pets at a time, so your dog will receive plenty of individual attention, care and affection. I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime and any special instructions to help them feel comfortable and relaxed. My goal is to make every stay as stress-free as possible for both you and your dog. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can enjoy peace of mind while you’re away.

About: I’m a dependable and enthusiastic animal lover who understands how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pet. I provide attentive, loving care and treat every dog as if they were my own. I have been around dogs for over 15 years and own two dogs of my own. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply sticking to their usual routine, I’m happy to accommodate their individual needs. I understand that leaving your pet can be stressful, so I make communication a priority and am happy to provide regular updates and photos for your peace of mind. I’m patient, responsible, and committed to ensuring your dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I strive to create a positive experience for every pet in my care. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! I currently have a remote job where I work from home 5 days a week. I have plenty of space for dogs as I have a garden with grass, and also live near to fields which is perfect for walking dogs. During the weekend, I spend my time at home with my own dogs, enjoying the outdoors and my garden. I live in a detached house with plenty of space downstairs. I also have a large fenced garden with plenty of grass. I currently own two dogs - Luna & Albie (miniature sausage dogs), who are very friendly with other dogs.

Our two dogs (21 months and 5 months old) stayed with Anca-Andreea at very short notice when our plans for holiday cover fell through due to unforseen work commitments. We found her to be very good at communicating and she was kind and gentle with the dogs, who clearly bonded with her. We felt confident they were safe and well cared for and she met their needs so we were able to relax and enjoy our time away. Thank you Anca!

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was a young girl. My family and friends have always relied on me to take care of their pets when going away I do work full-time Monday - Friday. I get 1 hour's lunch break around 12pm. Weekends vary from going on long walks or in the gym to spending time with family and friends. I'd ideally be looking for weekend pet care, however if your pet could last 8-12 & 1-5 on their own then I can accommodate midweek care I have a fully fenced large garden and open fields just a 5-minute walk from my house perfect for taking your fur baby on a good walk. I don't have any pets of my own, if your pet is crate trained, I can also work with this

About: I’ve always had pets in my family, so I’ve looked after cats and dogs from a young age. I have also looked after senior dogs and puppies for other family members/friends. I have 1 loveable puppy (Labrador named Reggie) and 2 cats (Bean and Delilah). The cats are like 2 peas in and pod and I’ve had them since they were tiny. Reggie is high energy and loves being around other dogs. I used to really enjoy taking my old dog (Nora) on long walks- whether that’s to a park or in the countryside. I am in full-time employment. When I am working, my partner is at home. I am available after 5pm most days due to my working hours, but I am available for majority of weekends. My dog has been crate trained from a very young age. Our garden isn’t very big, but the walks that he goes on make up for it.

Alison and Alan are fabulous, our Dog was treated like one of the family, he was taken on lots of walks to many different places and we were sent lots of photos which showed how content and happy his stay was, they really treated him like he was there own, as long as they are offering this service we will always use them and no one else as he is our world and we know he’s going to a family we can trust and look after him how we do. Thank you again for looking after Ted

This was our first time leaving Baxter with anybody outside the family and we had also very recently lost his sister, who he was due to board with, so there was added stress on my part about leaving him while we went away. Colette was amazing, and made sure that she got to know Baxter before he stayed with her and Rich. She ensured that Baxter was comfortable with their surroundings prior to his stay. We went for walks together, and he went to stay with them for a full day before his week long stay. Any worries were completely dissolved when we received our daily updates and pictures of what Baxter was getting up to, from joining in with Colette's daily yoga routine, to pictures of him enjoying his walks with Reggie and Tyler, we could tell that Baxter was thoroughly enjoying his time with them. We will defiantly be using Colette again, and I would highly recommend her and Rich to anybody.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
