“Beth was brilliant we would definitely recommend. She very generously offered a meet and greet and drove 30 minutes each way to meet our dog ahead of a 1 night sit. She was so attentive to our westie and was great with him. She gave plenty of updates which were much appreciated and we very much felt that out home and doggy were left in good hands. Thank you Beth 😊”

“Hollie was really helpful. Constant update pictures throughout her stay. Played with the cat, cleaned up after him and gave him as much playtime and attention that he needed. Will defo be using again! ”

“Georgina is great! She looked after our boy Chase for the day - arrived on time, stayed in contact and adapted his walks to the weather. He thoroughly enjoyed her company and we already have our next stay booked in! Thank you! ❤️”

“We had such a good experience with Charlie! He took wonderful care of our standard poodle and Labrador retriever while we were away. Both dogs absolutely adored him- it's clear from the photos and video we were sent and they were happy and cared for. His communication was excellent, keeping us updated throughout the stay and making us feel completely at ease. We could tell he really paid attention to our dogs’ needs and routines. We highly recommend and would definitely book Charlie again!”

About: Hi, I’m your friendly neighbourhood pet sitter in Stoke-on-Trent, here to spoil your furry family members while you’re away. I grew up in a home full of animals, so being surrounded by wagging tails, purrs, and happy energy is my natural state. I share my life with two cats of my own, and I’ve cared for a variety of pets for friends and clients—each with their own personality, needs, and little quirks. I love taking the time to get to know every pet and turning each visit into their own mini-holiday at home. From energetic puppies and playful kittens to calm senior pets, I’m experienced with different ages and temperaments. I’m comfortable administering medication, following specific routines, and adapting to what your pet needs—whether that’s playtime, cuddles, exercise, or simply quiet companionship. As a pet owner myself, I know how hard it can be to leave them behind. That’s why I focus on clear and reassuring communication, with regular updates, photos, and videos so you can see how they’re doing while you’re away. I’ll treat your pets like my own: with patience, care, and genuine affection. My goal is to keep them safe, comfortable, and happy, so you can relax knowing they’re in good hands. My availability can vary during the week due to my work pattern, but I always aim to be transparent and flexible. I’m always available for overnight sitting, and on some days I’m also available full-time. I can offer early morning routines, as well as afternoon and evening visits depending on the day. On some days I’m free from the morning through to early afternoon, while on others I’m available later in the day, usually after 8pm. I’m always happy to discuss specific visit times in advance to make sure they fit both your routine and your pet’s needs. If you have a particular schedule in mind, just send me a message and I’ll do my best to accommodate it. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I follow your instructions carefully—from feeding and medication to home security and routines—so your pet and your home stay safe and well cared for. I respect your space, keep everything tidy, and treat your home with the same care I give my own. I take time to help each pet feel relaxed and comfortable with me, whether that means walks and playtime, gentle interaction, or simply quiet company. I never force attention and always adapt to your pet’s personality and pace—whether they’re energetic, affectionate, or a little more reserved. With clear communication, regular updates, and a calm, reliable presence, my goal is to give you complete peace of mind while your pet enjoys a safe, familiar environment at home.
About: I've grown up with a Doberman, when I went to uni I volunteered at a dogs home for 1 year and since then I volunteered at a specialist German Shepherd rescue centre in Portsmouth and used BorrowMyDoggy for a year. Currrently on long term leave before a winter seasonal job, I cannot own a dog of my own due to my lifestyle being incompatible. I've grown up with big dogs and have previously worked with german shepherd rescue centres and other rotweillers, they are just big lovable giants. I'm that friend that thinks 15 miles is walkable, love any excuse to get outside, I'm also getting back into my running after an injury, so happy to bring the four legged friends along on training days.

“Char was an absolute delight! Yuki had the BEST time with what seems like her new best friend. Very polite and thorough in what she doing and always trying to communicate with us, despite us having no signal for most of the day! Patient, trustworthy and 100% would recommend and rebook, thank you Char! <3 :)”

“As always Charley is a great pet sitter, extremely professional and is my go to every time. I feel comfortable with her in my home and my dogs love being looked after by Charley. Great communication and would definitely recommend. Charley is amazing.”

About: I have been walking and looking after pets from a young age having grown up with a variety of cats, dogs, horses and hamsters. I volunteered to walk dogs for the elderly neighbours when I was still at school I have since then worked with horses and within farming. I set up on my own as a dog walker and pet sitter last year giving up my full time job to do that. I still keep my hand in with the odd milking and bit of calf rearing on the farm. I have two working spaniels myself so have experience with energetic high prey drive dogs. Where I can I foster for a rescue and volunteer at a couple of dog rescues with their training and assessments. I am fully insured and DBS checked, I have my first aid and I’m currently completing a course in canine training, behaviour and welfare. Your pets will be cared for as if they were my own and their individual needs met to a high standard at all times. This is now my full time job and I work my daily routine around my bookings. I started my own business just over 12 months ago now and I love spending every day with some amazing pets. I endeavour to follow the pets routine as it would be when their owners are home so as to not unsettle them. I always treat each pet as if they are my own and love and spoil them all the same.
“Kirsty came to meet Bailey before coming to stay. Communication was excellent, including photos and videos. The house was left clean and tidy. Bailey was happy. Will definitely book again. Thank you.”

“Jackie was fantastic. We did a meet ahead of the sitting and she was so great with Luna. Nice, calm and kind. She was at our house for 24 hours and took Luna out, played with her and generally made sure she had a nice time. She kept me up to date with pics as well. The house was left clean and tidy and Luna was very happy. Will definitely use again and recommend 100%.”

About: I’ve had pets since childhood, I am experienced caring for energetic puppies and senior animals, and truly enjoy spending time with pets while meeting all needs. I adore all animals and would love to get to know your fur babies! I work from home 4 days a week meaning I am flexible in terms of when I can attend your home to look after your pets. I enjoy my fitness so taking pets on walks at lunch works perfectly for me and I am flexible on most weekends. I am used to pets with medical issues and have extreme attention to detail when it comes to your pets. I have dealt with reactive dogs and been in difficult situations making me super aware of my surroundings and allowing me to protect your pets further. I am patient with shy animals and will always entertain those pets which love to cause chaos!
“I cannot tell you how amazing Isi has been. For the first time ever I felt like I didn’t have to worry about our Sid. Isi sent pictures and updates daily and nothing seemed too much trouble. Cannot recommend enough xx”

About: I’ve taken primary care of the family pets since I was 12, so 10 years now!, miss them like crazy now I’m student so far from home! I have petsitted for neighbours, friends, family members, and have dog walked for them too. New to ‘professional’ pet sitting but I hope my reliability, knowledge, and love for animals shines through in everything I do :) I’m a third year university student! so obviously when that starts again I have a few hours a week for lectures where I’m not available but other than that, I’m free! I’m super flexible so just let me know when you need me and I’ll have plenty of time to visit, care, or walk whoever needs it! I do not feel safe/comfortable boarding dogs where I live as it is a student accommodation. However I am attentive and a quick learner so will pick up quickly on safety/care requirements in your own home and respect your privacy if/when I am within it (I’m mostly focused on the pets anyway! haha). I’m familiar with the local area and many of the people (and dogs!) within it. I have an ID and references from friends/family available on request if you want me to prove my identity or my past experience (understandable!)

About: Hi, I’m Jasmine! I’m a reliable, caring, and trustworthy animal lover who understands that pets are part of the family. Although I’m new to Rover, I’m committed to providing the highest level of care and making sure every pet feels safe, loved, and happy while you’re away. I work full-time during the week, so I’m available for evening walks, weekend walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting. I’ll always treat your home and your pets with the same care and respect I would my own. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, cuddles on the sofa, or simply sticking to their normal routine, I’m happy to tailor my care to their individual needs. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages so you can relax knowing your furry friend is in safe hands. I look forward to meeting you and your pet! I currently work full time Monday to Friday. I am available most evenings and weekends for walks, overnight stays, drop ins and lots of fun! I absolutely love animals! No matter the size we will have lots of fun weather that’s walking, relaxing or playing. Your pet’s safety will always be my top priority. I’ll follow your instructions carefully, keep dogs on a lead unless you’ve specifically requested otherwise in a safe, secure area, avoid unsafe situations, make sure they always have access to fresh water, and ensure they receive plenty of love, attention, and exercise. I’ll also respect your home’s security by locking doors and gates and making sure your pet is safe and comfortable before I leave.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Newcastle-under-Lyme
We had a fantastic experience with Phoxx house sitting for us, looking after our two young/energetic dogs. You can tell how experienced with dogs she is and our easily overwhelmed rescue setter did not phase her at all. Both our boys took to her straight away ☺️ we would def rebook, our home was spotless when we returned which with two dogs is alway hard to maintain! 🤣

Olivia is a very caring pleasant person, and very comfortable to be with …I would recommend her to all my family and friends if ever they were needing someone to take care of their furry members of the family ..we were able to relax and enjoy our day knowing our little beaut was in such capable hands, we had lovely photos out on her walks too and was kept informed of how she was doing … we would like to thank Olivia very much and would definitely ask for her again 😊

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Newcastle-under-Lyme choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
