Charley is everything you want in a sitter and more!! It was clear at the Meet and Greet that they were going to get on and the happy dog that greeted us on our return proved that! She was a well looked after dog and the house was spotless! Such care had clearly been taken and I can’t thank Charley enough for that, along with the updates and photos. I’m hoping that she will be available for our next break too! Thank you Charley xx

About: I have grown up with dogs in my childhood, and I have always been an animal lover. I'm very patient and energetic person that would love to use my time more efficiently by doing what I love. At the moment my schedule is very free since I have officially finished college. I don't have any preferences so spam me with any opportunities you got for me! When I was younger, I would feed my pets daily (of course) and take them on walks first thing in the morning (and throughout the day) to avoid any accidents! I love walks so me and the doggo would have a great time. I loved training my dog new tricks like sitting down and then treating them, it allowed me to bond with them and gave them an opportunity to build new skills.

Melissa looked after Rolo again last weekend, she shared photos all weekend to show how Rolo was getting on. He looked very relaxed and his usual goofy self. Our house was left immaculate as always. Rolo is always nice and chilled when we get back from holiday. Thank you Melissa! Don’t know what we would do without you.

About: I am a hands on, enthusiastic animal lover who has cared for animals for over 30 years including dogs of all sizes, cats, reptiles, horses and hens. I have undertaken pet sittings in particular for over 15 years for friends, family and clients and ensure that your pets are cared for to the highest standard. I hold a DBS check, Driving Licence and am committed to the needs of the pet(s) within my care. Depending on the breed and age, I am patient, attentive and committed to ensuring that your pet's routine is adhered to as well as ensuring any medication requirements are met. I currently work part time undertaking administration for my wife's business which is done remotely via laptop therefore I have as much time that's required to care for your pet(s). I may have regular dog walks throughout the day however this would be minimal if you required me to be present constantly for your pets. For a pet sit in your home, I am open to adhering to the requests in which you set yourselves to fit into your pets timetable. It is important to me to ensure that any pet sit undertaken is smooth with minimal disruption to their daily routine.

About: Hi! I'm Carla, 29 and the kind of person that prefer dogs then people. Don't get me wrong, but I love how genuine and sweet they are, really angels that we have in our lives. I'm mom of a Pinscher that now is an angel, but we were together for amazing 15 years, and now we have in my family an incredible Border Collie, full of energy, with almost 3 years old. They taught me and still do how to love, in the most beautiful way possible. So, I have years of experience with small dogs, medium dogs, puppies, old dogs, with different behavior and I also can give medication. If your dog loves to play, I'll be more then happy to play with them. If they love affection, I'll be more then happy to give my love to them. I can't wait to meet your pet! See you. I work part time so I have plenty of availability during the week in some periods of the day (it vary every week) and every weekend. I don't have space to take care of dogs at my home in the moment, since I live in a small flat. But in the client's home I'll follow all the recommendations and rules provide to me.

About: I have taken care of a whole manner of animals and had a passion for animal care since I was 10 years old, which is when I started dog walking. Since starting my vet school training, I have looked after both cats and dogs, as well as working in both a cattery and kennels. I have lots of experience with both puppies and senior dogs as I have owned dogs myself throughout the years. I am happy to cater to any needs owners or dogs may have. Any animals that are in my care will be treated like my own and can sleep on my bed whenever they like. I am the kind of person to take your furry friend around with me all day. I love to take dogs out in my car to explore somewhere new. I love to have a companion to come running with me as well as take them with me to a coffee shop afterward! I have lots of previous experience with bully breeds as I have owned them myself, so I understand their quirks and how they wouldn’t be suited to kennels boarding! Any questions or specific dates needed, feel free to get in touch. I am currently at vet school, so during the day, I am at university. However, I live 5 minutes away from where I am studying, so I can travel back to take animals out for a walk or for the toilet when needed. I have an active lifestyle and go out running nearly every day, so dogs that love a walk will be happy with me. Any animals that are in my care will be treated like my own and can sleep on my bed whenever they like. I unfortunately dont have a garden however there is a large park across the road from where i live so I can take out for the toilet and a sniff round when needed.

About: Growing up my mother has always had dog, and being an animal orientated family I was always involved within the care of the dogs. I have furthered this passion and completed my level 3 animal management diploma and completed my animal first aid so your pets are in good hands. Over the past 4 months I have been training reactive dogs all of which are making great strides in ignoring their triggers. I am a fully flexible dog walker and pet sitter. However this will change as I enter my second year of veterinary surgery at university. Your pets safety is my first priority. Pet sitting will always occur at the owners home, this is to ensure the comfort of the dog by them being in a familiar place. I always ask that food is provided by the owners unless discussed otherwise (however if I provide my own food a reimbursement is expected). On walks I prefer to take the dog to a quiet area or dog paddock to allow them off leash, with reactive dogs off leash only allowed after discussing it with the owner and both believe that is the next step within the dogs training and that a secure area can be used.

About: Hi there! I am Helena, and I have taken care of animals all my life (e.g, dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, hedgehogs, chickens, etc). I have taken care of various breeds of dogs/cats, which has taught me how to handle different temperaments of all ages. Thus, I have experience with calm dogs, as well as dogs who require extra patience and training. Importantly, I have an ability to ‘read’ dogs, and know when they would like a fuss or if they’d prefer some quiet time. I have experience in housing, walking, bathing dogs - and responding quickly and calmly when animals require medical assistance (including times where I have rehabilitated hedgehogs and birds!). Due to my experience with senior dogs, I am familiar with adhering to a medication schedule. I am a physically active person, and can walk for any time required by your pet/s. In my photo gallery you will see examples of some of the animals I continue to care for when required. The first few photos are where I live to show where your pet will be staying ☺️ I am a full-time animal carer, so it is easy for me to adhere to the needs of any animal in my care. ☺️❤️ Regarding house-sitting and boarding, I am available most nights, which can be agreed in advance between us. For boarding, I live in a one-bedroom cabin which has a relatively large fenced garden for your furry friend to sniff around in. The cabin has a log burner, which makes it extra cosy! (Dogs often curl up in front of it which is very cute). The first few photos of my gallery shows my garden and cabin ☺️ I will care for your pet/s as per their specific needs (e.g, walking/rest routine, preferences for contact, medication plans), which can be confirmed in advance of the booking. Two very friendly and quiet female greyhounds live on the same grounds that I do, but they do not live in my cabin and do not come into contact with the animals I care for. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions and/or would like to see how I can assist the needs of your pup!

Kaia loved Asia, and seemed more excited to see her the following evening than me on my return from work 😀. I would definitely recommend. Very reasonably priced. Asia is very pleasant, and calm around Kaia, who is still only a puppy, and can be a little bit wild at times. I would definitely use her services again. Very happy with whole experience.

We had such a good experience with Charlie! He took wonderful care of our standard poodle and Labrador retriever while we were away. Both dogs absolutely adored him- it's clear from the photos and video we were sent and they were happy and cared for. His communication was excellent, keeping us updated throughout the stay and making us feel completely at ease. We could tell he really paid attention to our dogs’ needs and routines. We highly recommend and would definitely book Charlie again!

Lois has been nothing short of outstanding when we left our 2 year old, anxious Labrador for the first time. Willing to come and spend time with him 1-on-1 on the build up to our trip so that they could become aquatinted. We were provided with regular updates throughout our holiday and made to feel reassured at all times. We returned home to find that Lois had not only cleaned the entire house, but ensured that we had fresh bedding to come home to. Will 100% be using Lois wherever possible when it comes to our dog sitting needs from now on. Perfect companion for your furry (or not so furry) family and your home when you are away.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 2,167 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Stoke-on-Trent. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Stoke-on-Trent walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Stoke-on-Trent choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
