“If I am counting it right, this was fourth time when we asked Tasha to look after Arya for us (or maybe third?). Everything is always perfect and we can totally recommend using Tasha as your cat sitter, she is very kind and very caring and it’s amazing with cats xx 💞 thank you once again!! ”

“Elena has been incredibly helpful checking in on our dogs at short notice. She's friendly and professional, and clearly loves getting to know the animals she's entrusted with. We'll very likely seek her service again in the future.”

“Karolina did two drop-ins for us over Christmas to look after our cats (food, water & litter). She did a wonderful job. Her personality was absolutely lovely and the cats adored her. She sent various photos of the cats enjoying themselves and having cuddles. Will definitely be our regular cat-sitter from now on. Thank you ❤️”

About: Hello! I’m a dedicated and experienced pet sitter with a lifelong love of animals, I have owned cats and dogs since I was a baby and have grown up around animals. I currently care for five cats—four of whom are rescues, one of them being very nervous and shy which we are working through—and two dogs, including a high-energy Boxer and a long-haired Cockapoo. Living with such a diverse mix of personalities has given me hands-on experience with different temperaments, activity levels, and care needs. Having grown up with both cats and dogs, I’m very comfortable handling everything from playful, energetic pets to more nervous or shy animals that need extra patience and understanding. I take pride in creating a calm, safe, and positive environment where every pet feels secure and well cared for. I offer flexible services including house sitting, dog walking, and drop-in visits for feeding, playtime, or general check-ins. Whether your pet needs lots of exercise and stimulation or a gentle, reassuring presence, I tailor my care to suit their individual needs. I am currently working part time at a football stadium however the season has now finished meaning I have time available for pet sitting. I occasionally volunteer as I have a degree working with horses however that is dependant on my work schedule. I have two dogs that are extremely friendly and love meeting new dogs if there is a nervous dog in need of a friend on walks, I am constantly observing the behaviour of new dogs and cats in first meetings to ensure they are comfortable, I am always ready to play and offer different types of enrichment for both cats and dogs to decrease boredom!
“Amelia has been amazing. My cats have been very well cared for. It has been a huge relief to know they have had excellent care while I was away, I really loved the pictures! Will definitely request Amelia again!”

“As soon as we meet Jo we knew she was the one to look after our old boy Dave (20 year old deaf cat). They bonded instantly and he was falling asleep on her lap taking fusses during our meet and greet. Her love of animals was obvious from the start. During our holiday she gave him his meds and the all important cuddles he needed and we got photos and updates every day which just confirmed we’d made the right decision. Our home was spotless when we got home and Dave was happy and healthy. We’ve already booked her for our next break 😍 Thank you Jo, knowing you were loving Dave whilst we were away allowed us to unwind and relax worry free x”

“Elizabeth was great. She was friendly and Monty got on really well with her. She gave great updates each day and spent a good amount of time with Monty. Thank you for looking after him for us. Would definitely recommend.”

“Charley was amazing and really went above and beyond. My cat is usually cautious with strangers, but Charley was able to gain her trust from the very first visit. She sent me updates and photos every day, so I always knew everything was fine and my cat was in good hands while I was away for two weeks. She also left the house clean and tidy. I will definitely book Charley again and would highly recommend her.”

About: Hi hi!! I'm Phoxx! I've always had dogs in my life since I was young, ranging from giant breeds to miniature breeds, and now as a keen adventurer that goes on frequent hikes I wouldn't mind some extra fluffy company occasionally. I am currently self-employed which allows me to pick which days i go out, so when caring for you fluffy family members I have the ability to take tike off and focus on them. If your pups are at my home, any times that I do need to pop out, my partner will be at home so the house is never empty. Especially with my beagle around to play with. I drive and have access to my a motorcycle and a car so I am happy to house sit for you during the day or simply pop in to make sure your pal has some company and fuss for a while. Due to the size of my house and having my own dog, I currently don't offer boarding for unknown dogs, but we can start at day care and go from there 😊 We have a big sun-trap of a garden that they are free to roam when the weather is nice, get frequent toilet breaks and I also go for walks to my local large field and sometimes down to a friends dog park too (if they're ok in the car) I only work part-time and it's usually based from home. I am never out of the house for long and have plenty of time to look after your furry friends! I have a large faced yard and my own dog to keep your companion company. We spend lots of time doing cuddles and play time as well as more relaxing nap times.

About: I have been around dogs all my life and am very passionate about meeting their needs with training and having fun! I live with my partner Nathan in Newcastle under Lyme near Stoke. I did care for a shi zhu called Chico on a regular basis when I lived back in Birmingham in which I walked, fed, bathed and trained, and have always had dogs in the family to practise and give all the love I’m a nurse but am able to take care of your pet around my schedule as I usually have 3 or more days off in the week. There is no set schedule meaning I’m available sometimes in the weekday and sometimes at the weekend I have no pets of my own because of my long shifts which is why I’d love to look after your fur baby. I am happy to walk pets, provide day care or drop in visits
About: Lifelong pet lover here! I've cared for everything from dogs to hamsters. I’ll happily walk, feed, and bathe, clean your pets—no mess is too big! My schedule is super flexible, so I can fit your pet's needs in any day, any time. I'm ready when you and your pets are! Your pet's safety and routine are my top priorities. I follow your guidelines closely, ensuring a trustworthy, comfortable environment that keeps your pets happy and secure.

About: I spent 14 years caring for my own Labrador, so I understand the daily rhythm dogs and cats need — regular walks, feeding times, and plenty of attention. Alongside that, I've helped friends and neighbours look after their dogs and cats whenever they've gone on holiday, covering everything from walks and feeding to daily drop-in visits to check in, play, and keep them company. I know how much peace of mind it gives you to know your pet is in safe, familiar hands while you're away. Whether it's a daily walk, a feeding visit, or a full day of company, I treat every pet like my own — with patience, consistency, and genuine care. I'm based in Stoke-on-Trent. I'm happy to discuss your pet's specific routine and needs before we get started. My schedule gives me great flexibility for regular care. On Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, I'm free all day and can offer morning, midday, or evening dog walks, along with drop-in visits at any time that suits you. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, I'm at university, so I'm generally available in the evening. On weekends, I'm available in the afternoons around my work schedule. I'm happy to work with you to find times that fit your pet's routine. For dogs, I focus on giving them plenty of exercise with long walks, along with lots of playtime and attention throughout the visit. For cats, I bring that same energy minus the walks — spending time playing, engaging with them, and making sure they feel comfortable and looked after while their owners are away. Whether it's a quick drop-in or a longer visit, my goal is to make sure every pet gets genuine attention, not just the basics.
About: I've had a variety of pets throughout my childhood, from fish and hamsters, to cats and dogs. Since having my own home I have pet sat family dogs, and had pets including fish, hamsters, guinea pigs, budgies, and rats. I plan to have a dog in the future, but for the time being would like to care for others fur babies. I’m happy to care for all pets including dogs, cats, rats, guinea pigs, snakes, etc. I'm self employed working from home. I also have 3 children (aged 11-19), who I stay close to home for. This means I'm at home or close to home, for much of the day most days. I don’t drive, so for now will only cover a small area, and use public transport. There are many green spaces nearby, allowing for walks of varying lengths, and opportunity for dogs to run around. I’m happy to spend time with all pets in the home, either playing or cuddling, or just keeping them company if they’re not cuddly. I’m happy to handle small pets like guinea pigs and rats, and to feed any pets where required.

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Stoke-on-Trent
My servants took annual leave without my approval and I was actually delighted, because Anca came to feed and play with me twice a day (and my sister, but mainly me, because I’m so lovely, obviously). She was gentle and kind, and knowing I’m quite anxious around people, made extra effort to engage with me, all on my terms. My litter box was cleaned to my liking, my kibble bowl was always checked and refilled and, the water fountain regularly topped up with fresh cool water. Best of all, she carefully prepared our morning and evening meals exactly the way we like them, so we barely even noticed the servants had gone away at all! Anca did try to play with me, with my toys but I’m quite a cool cat, and my only really interest is food (and sniffing feet and shoes!), but my sister liked it. I hope my servants go away again, because Anca was very nice and I would recommend her services to all my cat friends, and their servants. From Dave 😻

As one of 3 close family households, we’ve not had a joint family holiday since 2018 , as none of us could contemplate putting our dearly loved cats into a cattery, or entrusting them into the care of a cat sitter. That is ,until we discovered Katalin and for the 1st time in 8 years we have recently all gone away together, safe in the knowledge that our pets would be truly well looked after. Katalin managed medications, semi - blindness and a 3 legged cat - travelling between our 3 homes, three times each daily , providing the same consistent care each visit, to all. Cat dishes and trays were left meticulously clean, photographs and updates sent following each visit and all our cats were happy and relaxed upon our return. ***** I cannot thank Katalin enough , or recommend her more highly . THANK YOU :)
Thank you again for looking after Monty :) This was the second time Elizabeth looked after him for us and we can’t recommend her enough. We loved the report cards she filled in each visit, not just filled in for the sake of it, they were funny, genuine and made us smile. We felt completely at ease knowing our fur baby was in good hands. 100% will book again next time we’re away!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
