“Maria and her children looked after Dexter for 3 nights whilst I was away on holiday. Dexter was upset on the first night and Marie’s comforted him to make sure he settled in quickly. Her children were great with him too and I received updates during his stay. Thanks for looking after him so well”

“Alison is a lovely lady and along with Alan they both obviously love dogs. They sent photos during Rinka's stay, showing her out on walks and snuggled up on the sofa. They were very easy to communicate with. I will definitely be booking Alison again.”

“We left our nearly 14 year old Jack Russell with Marlon and Jaine for a few days whilst we were on a trip. She’s pretty deaf and showing signs of her age, also a bit nervous and just becoming a bit of a grumpy old woman really. She absolutely loved her stay and didn’t want to come home at the end of it. She was so well looked after and we loved getting the regular updates and pictures of how she was getting on. Can’t thank Marlon and Jaine enough and we will definitely be using them again in the future. Very highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks so much.”

“Nivinda was absolutely amazing 👏 Reggie was so well cared for by her whole family who absolutely fell in love with him. I will definitely use Nivinda again when we go away on holiday. We felt so relaxed knowing Reggie was happy. We had full updates everyday on several different times keeping us fully updated. A massive thanks for your excellent service and we fully recommend Nivinda 100% xx”

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and grew up with dogs as part of the family. I now have a dog of my own and regularly look after family members’ dogs, so I’m very comfortable caring for dogs with different personalities and routines. I work from home, which means any dog staying with me will have plenty of company throughout the day and won’t be left alone. Dogs are treated as part of the family in my home - they’re welcome on the furniture, get lots of attention and affection, and I’ll always do my best to make them feel safe, comfortable and at home during their stay. I work from home, so I’m always on hand to give your dog plenty of company, attention and care throughout the day. I offer doggy daycare during the week, perfect for when you’re busy or at work, and I may also have some weekend availability depending on my calendar. Please feel free to message me for more information or to discuss your dog’s needs and routine! 🐾 All dogs are treated as part of the family in our home and are more than welcome on the furniture! I have my own friendly dog, Barney, so your dog will have a companion to play with throughout the day. We have a large, fully fenced garden and plenty of toys to keep them entertained. During the warmer months, the back door is usually kept open so the dogs can freely come in and out and enjoy the garden. In the colder months, I make sure they’re offered regular toilet breaks, usually every hour or so. Most importantly, they’ll get plenty of attention, cuddles and company and will be treated just like one of our own. 🐶❤️
About: I have owned dogs my entire life. I currently have a cane corso. I am proficient with any size or breed of dog (please no banned breeds) I am passionate about keeping your dog happy healthy and comfortable. I can cater to nearly every desired schedule, wants and needs. The only service I don’t offer is boarding in my own home due to my big boy being young & a tad boisterous. I will follow your instructions to a tee, whatever your dog/dogs wants and needs are, I can facilitate & cater to. Timed medications ? Done, specific feeding schedule, done.
“I can highly recommend Ana Maria. She is absolutely wonderful and caring, with loads of doggy cuddles. She sent me twice daily messages about my two dogs with oodles of pictures of the dogs interacting with the family and on their walks as well as rest periods. The dogs were so reluctant to leave the family, Laila even hid under the table when it was time to come home! Highly recommend!!”

“Sofie looked after our Cyril for two nights and we don't think he was ready to leave! He must have had a great time. Her regular updates gave us peace of mind while we were away. Would highly recommend.”

“Can I firstly just say Jessica and her family are amazing 💞!! We left our little Patterdale Noodles 🐕with Jessica for 5 days, she agreed to have her at very short notice and was absolutely brilliant with her. We had never left Noodles with anyone other than family before so we're a little worried, but I can say she was truly amazing with her, she set my mind at reat as soon as I met her and when we saw her whole families true love for dogs, we knew she was a perfect match for us and Noodles. We had absolutely nothing to be worried about. Jessica sent me pictures/videos daily and updates on what she was doing, how she was, and she was always there if I just wanted to check in on Noodles. She was so happy and playful when we picked her up so I know so was in excellent hands and was looked after like one of Jessica's family. I will definitely be sending Noodles there again as she loved her time with Jessica and her beautiful family and I would highly recommend anyone to let her look after their little treasures. Thank you so much Jessica, you and your family are gorgeous and an extra special 😘😘😘🐾🐾🐾 from Noodles who misses you all lots already xxxxx”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was very young. I have 3 dogs currently (staffy, Labrador and husky cross collie) and I take them on multiple walks daily. I also trained them from when they were puppies. As well as that, I used to pet sit my families golden retriever puppies and their cats as well. I also have 2 cats and I know my way around them. I am currently working full time, however I am available Mondays and Tuesdays at any time. My schedule changes every week but your dogs will get the exercise they require. I won’t be able to take your dogs into my home, due to not having sufficient space in the house or garden. However, I will be able to take them for long walks.
“Jessica was absolutely brilliant with our dog Ben! She looked after him overnight for us the night before our wedding, which gave us one less thing to worry about during such a busy and important time. She was so caring and went above and beyond by even bathing Ben for us! He came back happy, clean and clearly very well looked after. We couldn’t have asked for anyone better to look after him, and we would definitely recommend Jessica to anyone looking for a kind, trustworthy and caring dog sitter. Thank you so much! 🐾❤️”

“Colette and Rich were both brilliant. I could relax during my holiday knowing that Sienna was well looked after. Had numerous updates and pictures for peace of mind. I'll 100% be using them both again in the future if they can put up with Siennas energy again. Thank you both so much”

Jessica and her wonderful family took the best care of my Shiba Inu, Leia and she really enjoyed her stay there. Jessica made me feel at ease with updates and photos of her adventures and I honestly could not recommend her enough. Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of Leia ❤️

I was unsure at first as never left jet with anyone, but simona was great with jet and her daughter played and bonded with her too. I was sent photos of walks/relaxed which was great as I worried she wouldn't settle, they must of loved having her there and treated her excellent in order for her to settle in. Will use again and 100% recommend

Vicky was great! She kept us regularly updated and sent us lots of photos, and communication was excellent throughout. She also came to our home beforehand to meet our dog and spend some time with her, which we really appreciated. Our dog clearly had a lovely time with Vicky, was happy and ate really well during her stay. We felt completely at ease knowing she was being well looked after. We would definitely use Vicky again and highly recommend her! ❤️

Helena was absolutely wonderful with our dog during his week-long stay. He had a fantastic time and looked so happy, relaxed, and comfortable with her. He was unwell at the time and needed medication, and Helena handled everything with such care and attention. She kept me regularly updated, reassured me that he was doing well, and gave me complete peace of mind throughout his stay. Helena has such a lovely, caring attitude, and it was clear that our dog felt completely at home with her. We are so grateful for the wonderful care she gave him and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, trustworthy, and attentive dog sitter!

Amazing dog sitter! They kept me updated with photos and messages throughout, which gave me so much peace of mind. My dog came home happy, relaxed, and clearly very well looked after. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.

Eleni was amazing with our dog! She handled him so well and showed him love and care. He’s a Akita x Malamute and we were careful when booking a sitter as we wanted to ensure we got someone who knew and could handle big dogs - Eleni was that person! She sent regular updates and photos and was super responsive! Sam will be back to have another holiday with Eleni!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
