“Loki has had an amazing holiday with Jas. Very friendly sitter. Plenty of updates throughout our holiday. Was definitely a home from home stay. Loki was very happy from the moment he arrived. Definitely will use Jas again for my baby. Thanks again Jas from one very happy doggy owner.”

“Coco had a wonderful stay with Megan, she was very attentive, sent updates and they had a great time on a long walk. I think Coco has a new best friend! Will definitely book again.”

“This was the first time our 9 year old labrador has stayed with Marcia, and we have been delighted. A "meet and greet" was arranged first so our boy could meet Marcia's own dog which is a great idea. He stayed for two nights and all was fine. We are really happy for our boy to stay there again. We do have doggy holidays ourselves, but need a reliable and happy dog sitter for those times when taking a dog is impossible or impractical. This is it. Thank you, Marcia and family”

“Nicole was absolutely amazing! I won't be using anyone else from now on (although it's not often we leave our little man behind!), she kept us updated for 5 days on everything Slinky did and gave us loads of photos and videos so I felt safe and relaxed on my trip knowing Slinks was so well loved! Definitely would recommend to anyone.”

About: I’ve always loved dogs and enjoy spending time with them. I have experience looking after dogs of different ages and personalities, and I understand the importance of providing them with a safe, caring, and fun environment. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or simply giving them company and attention, I treat every dog as if they were my own. I’m reliable, patient, and committed to making sure your dog feels happy, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I currently work part-time and am available for dog walks and daycare on my days off. I’ve always loved dogs and have experience caring for them, ensuring they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while their owners are away. I have a friendly Cockapoo who lives as part of the family and is free to roam throughout the house. My home has a large, secure, fully fenced garden where my dog can safely exercise, play, and go outside regularly. I ensure my pet has access to fresh water, a comfortable resting area, daily exercise, and plenty of attention and care
“Wow my boy had the time of his life whilst staying with Dominika, plenty of beautiful walks, meeting friends and their dogs, he's looking forward to his next visit. Photographs each day were lovely. Thank you for looking after him so well for us xx”

“I could not be happier with how Maria and her family looked after our 8 month old dachshund Chester for 2 weeks. We received regular updates with pictures which were a joy to receive and helped keep my daughter's separation anxiety at bay. The family were out and about every single day with Chester, their dog Evie and other guests clearly providing enrichment for all. I without hesitation recomend most highly.”

“What a wonderful time wispa had with Michelle. A real home from home. Although I missed having my fur baby with me, the pics sent daily showed how much fun she was having. Thank u Michelle and family. Wispa wants to visit again so I shall b booking in the future.”

“Jenny and Chris are really lovely people and it’s clear to see that they love dogs very much. Our girl Mabel was very happy at their home, had lovely long walks and lots of cuddles. Jenny stayed in touch and sent lots of photos to put our mind at rest that Mabel was happy and contented. I would definitely recommend Jenny and Chris and wouldn’t hesitate to ask them to care for Mabel.”

“I think Chris is a secret dog whisperer! She is so experienced in caring for your dog that it really does make you feel Iike they have a home from home. My cavapoo is quite anxious and sticks to me like Velcro at home, she was not phased by this at all. Would highly recommend!”

“It was our first time leaving our dog with strangers, and it couldn’t have gone better. Matt and Emma put us at ease initially and updated us regularly with photos of him having a better holiday than us and put our minds at rest during our holiday. So we’d highly recommend leaving your dog with Matt and Emma, absolutely a 5 star service from start to finish.”

“Phil and Archie took great care of my dachshund dash whilst I was away for the weekend . Speedy responses when communicating and always keeping me updated on how dash was doing during his stay. Do not hesitate when thinking of booking Phil and Archie as these two kept dash busy all weekend showing him love and care throughout his stay and taking him out on long walks and keeping him stimulated. I can’t thank them both enough for the love and care they gave dash and looking after him like he’s there own.”

“Rocket absolutely loved her stay with Emma and her family. If anything she is sad that it was time to come home, but it was really nice to know that she was in such safe care when staying with her. Would absolutely leave rocket with Emma again in the future.”

“Megan and Jack looked after Bernie for me and were absolutely brilliant with my little pup. They sent lots of photos and messages, which really put me at ease. I’d definitely use them again”

About: We are a dog-loving family with plenty of experience caring for pets. We had a much-loved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel for 9 wonderful years and, although we sadly lost him a few years ago, we haven’t felt ready to replace him. Instead, we’ve loved welcoming friends’ and family members’ dogs into our home and treating them like part of the family. Our children absolutely adore dogs and are used to helping with feeding, playing, cuddles, and making sure every dog feels safe, happy, and loved. Dogs staying with us receive lots of attention, affection, and companionship. I also love walking, so your dog will enjoy regular exercise, fresh air, and plenty of care. We can care for dogs during the week and are happy for them to spend short periods alone if they are comfortable doing so, with access to a large, safe kitchen space. We’re available to spend quality time with your dog every day before 9am and after 3pm, as well as weekends and school holidays. We work from home time to time so will be there to keep your pup company. We also have a large, fully fenced garden, perfect for playing, exploring, or simply relaxing in the sunshine. Your pup must enjoy being around children. Between me and my husband someone is usually home whether working from home or being here with the children. They’ll be plenty of playtime and walks which can be both morning and evening. We have a fenced garden which is suitable for your dog to play and run around in. If you have a crate to bring we have space, if not they can happily sleep in the basket downstairs .
“Dzestina looked after our very hyper and very active 2 year old golden retriever for 8 nights. He came back very happy and was clearly well looked after 😄 We we’re kept updated with pictures and videos daily”

About: I've had dogs my whole life and believe dogs are not pets but family members. Your dog will be in the safest of hands and will be spoiled rotten, whilst you're away. My dog goes to doggy day care, when I go on holiday so I understand how people feel when leaving their family member behind (this isn't easy to a lot of people). I have my own dog and i've looked after family members, since the age of 21 (when they go on holiday). I've had and looked after a variety of dogs from Cockapoo to Staffy's to Grey Hounds. Currently have a 10 year old Cockapoo, that doesn't tend to have an interest in other dogs. Your dog will be walked, allowed on the furniture and beds and they won't be left on their own. I can bath them (at an additional cost) if required. They can also sleep on the bed or you can provide a crate, if this follows their usual sleeping arrangement. Currently work Monday to Friday so my availability is for weekend stays only. During the weekends, I will always be in unless i've notified you of anything different in advance. I have a fenced garden and live a 2/3 minute walk to a large park. I'll be in all weekend so no pets will be left alone. Your family member can sleep on the furniture or our bed. You can provide a crate for them to sleep, if this is the usual arrangement for your dog. Have access to the whole house. If I wanted to take your pet anywhere, I will always request this with yourself first.
About: I grew up with a rescue collie, dog sat for my brother's recuse dog and now we have our own fun loving 3 year old cocker spaniel! My partner Tim and I both work from home, which means your pet will have plenty of company and supervision throughout the day. They’ll never be left alone for long and will always have someone around to give them a fuss! I am happy to send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your furry friend is comfortable & settled. We have a secure garden where dogs can safely play and take regular toilet breaks. Myself & Tim have children aged 8 & 11, they both love dogs and are sensible around them.

Megan was so wonderful with our 8 month pup! She sent regular updates with photos each time! I was initially worried as I had never used a home boarder before but Megan made us feel at ease right from the initial meet and greet! Would 100% recommended over and over 🫶🏼

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
