“Our Staffy Betty had an overnight stay with Jas & Natasha, during the meet and greet she settled in quickly. She appeared happy when we collected her and we would rebook again. Thank you 😊”

“We booked our newly recused dog Zlata in for the weekend at short notice (purely because we can’t communicate plans to each-other in this house!) Zlata had the most amazing time and was looked after so so well. She is live wire and has a lot of energy and we learn new things about her. We were updated regularly how she was doing and sent lots of lovely pictures and videos!! I would 1000000% recommend booking! Thank you”

“Coco had a wonderful stay with Megan, she was very attentive, sent updates and they had a great time on a long walk. I think Coco has a new best friend! Will definitely book again.”

“Nicole and Matt were amazing with elvis, we were feeling anxious as it was the first time he has stayed out but they really listened to his needs and we felt totally at ease. The photo updates were great and elvis looked like he was having his own little holiday. Would highly recommend and will definitely be using them again.”

About: Hi, I’m Heather, and I’m a lifelong animal lover with many years of experience caring for dogs and cats. I have had many pets during my childhood and professionally looked after other peoples animals since 18. I sadly recently lost my dog, in which I met through a dog sitting platform. Taking care of him over the last 10 years has given me experience with dogs of different ages, personalities and needs, including the patience and extra care that comes with looking after an older dog. I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets, and I always treat every animal as if they were my own. I am DBS checked and currently work at a local school part time, where I support children in a caring and responsible role. This reflects my reliability, patience and commitment to looking after others. I’m happy to help with walking, feeding, companionship and general pet care in my home. I take the time to get to know each pet individually, understand their routines and make sure they feel comfortable, safe and loved. I’d love the opportunity to meet your pets and provide them with the same care, attention and kindness that I’ve given my own dog for so many years. (During your pets stay, my dog will not be in the home and stays with family) I work term time between 9-3 part time. I am home 4 days a week, including weekends, my partner works from home and is home full time. I am also free during school holidays/half term and Christmas. I like to think that I am a very reliable and trustworthy person. I have a love for animals and every pet that comes into my care is treated as if they were my own. I understand how hard it is to leave your pet with someone that you don’t know, but I hope to build a relationship with all my prospective clients and make them feel at ease and provide a happy stay for pets. My Home is safe, clean and the garden is secure. Rest assured that your pet will be very well taken care of.
“Sharlene was lovely with Mabes and reassured me throughout her sitting. She was really flexible and open to adapting to my anxieties about leaving mabel and treated her as if she was her own. Mabes would love to come back <3”

“This was the first time our 9 year old labrador has stayed with Marcia, and we have been delighted. A "meet and greet" was arranged first so our boy could meet Marcia's own dog which is a great idea. He stayed for two nights and all was fine. We are really happy for our boy to stay there again. We do have doggy holidays ourselves, but need a reliable and happy dog sitter for those times when taking a dog is impossible or impractical. This is it. Thank you, Marcia and family”

“Michelle, Jase and Ella looked after my precious Cash for 2 nights/3days. I was so particular about finding the right family to care for him and was prepared to go the extra distance if I found them. I am so glad that Michelle became available because straight from the meet and greet I just felt that Cash was going to be nurtured with love and care. Everything was right. Michelle followed the guidance I’d sent, she sent updates and photos throughout. I could just see that Cash was living the dream so much so I wondered if he’d want to come home! He was so chilled when I went to get him and I could just tell what a positive experience he’d had. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Cash with Michelle, Jase and Ella in future. Thank you so much guys 😘😘😘”

“I had found Matt last minute within a couple hours before i actually dropped Simba off. Matt was very welcoming and inviting to both me and Simba. He had helped me out massively when no one else was available. Matt sent me updates with photos throughout the whole day and Simba looked like he had settled in very quickly. I would definitely recommend Matt and his loving family to anyone looking for cover for their beloved pets. I will be using Matt again as Simba seemed very happy to be there.”

About: I’ve been around dogs for many years and have always had dogs as part of my family, so I understand how important they are and how much love, care and attention they need. I’ve also helped my daughter with her dog-sitting business and bookings, giving me hands-on experience caring for different dogs and understanding their individual routines and needs. I’m a caring, patient and responsible person who genuinely enjoys being around dogs. I’ll make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable and at home while they’re in my care, with plenty of love, attention and cuddles along the way! 🐾❤️ I’m at home full-time and have a very flexible schedule, so your dog will have plenty of company, care and attention throughout the day. I’m available to fit around your dog’s individual routine, whether that means regular walks, playtime, feeding times, cuddles or simply having someone around for reassurance. Because I’m home most of the time, I can provide a calm and loving environment where your dog won’t be left alone for long periods. I’m happy to follow their usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and settled while they’re staying with me. 🐾❤️ Your dog will be welcomed into a spacious, comfortable home where they can relax and feel part of the family. I have a large, fully fenced back garden, giving dogs plenty of safe space to enjoy some fresh air, play and explore. I’ll make sure each dog gets plenty of attention, affection and care throughout their stay, while following their usual routine as closely as possible. I’m happy to provide regular toilet breaks, playtime, cuddles and lots of company. I want every dog staying with me to feel safe, settled and at home, with plenty of space both inside and outside to enjoy. 🐾❤️

“We have used Chris multiple times now to look after our 2 cavapoos. Both are classic “velcro dogs” and even for us it can be overwhelming at times. Chris however is not phased by this and is happy to accommodate any needs you have to make your dog feel like they are at home. Both dogs are very picky eaters and on the most recent occasion she was so helpful in trialling new foods with them and letting us know which seemed best for them. We found it very amusing that on arrival to collect them, our dog was running round with her sock, which is exactly what he does at home! Thanks Chris. See you again next time!”

“Amazing couple... rusty loves dominika and Mark and their golden retriever shogo like they are part of the family 🥰 he is treated like a king whilst we are away and she takes the most stunning photos of him like a professional photographer 📸 lol 5 stars!!!! Xxx”

“Dee clearly loves dogs and she was very good with ours. He was excited to see her and Sid again after our meet and greet. Dee took measures to keep him safe in the hot weather. Nothing was too much trouble and I would thoroughly recommend her- I will certainly be booking her again.”

“Maria was lovely with Pablo during his stay and kept me updated with lovely pictures and videos so I could see all the fun he was having. It makes such a difference knowing your dog is being cared for as though he is part of the family.”

“Megan and Jack looked after Bernie for me and were absolutely brilliant with my little pup. They sent lots of photos and messages, which really put me at ease. I’d definitely use them again”

“Melissa was amazing with my 2 cats they are both indoor cats and Melissa kept them safe and made sure windows and doors was closed. Updated with pictures and videos everyday. They was both nervous at first, Melissa was so patient and loving towards them that they came out of hiding. I will definitely be using Melissa again when I go away next year. She was absolutely amazing with my 2 cats I highly recommend Melissa with her caring and loving nature towards animals”

About: I’ve loved dogs since I was a child myself and had a dog as a kid. Since then my own parents have had other dogs which I’ve obviously loved and cared for as and when, whilst unable to have a dog of my own. Circumstances - ie work - mean I can’t commit to having my own dog full time, to my son’s dismay, but we have so much love and affection for dogs that Rover is a perfect fit for us. I’ve only ticked availability for when my son and I can live our best life and share that time with your beautiful dog. We are always out and about exploring Lichfield and living life to the fullest…and spending time with a pooch pal would complete that way of life! Full disclosure we live in a flat but is as pet friendly as flats can be. We literally live opposite Stowe Pool playing fields and like I say to my 9-year-old, we have one of the biggest gardens in Lichfield. We would love a dog to walk, to stay with us and maybe even play cricket with us!
“Rocket absolutely loved her stay with Emma and her family. If anything she is sad that it was time to come home, but it was really nice to know that she was in such safe care when staying with her. Would absolutely leave rocket with Emma again in the future.”

Megan was amazing with Neo. I was stressed leaving him with anyone. Megan is a natural dog sitter. Neo took to Megan immediately and I could tell he would be looked after just like I do. On collection Neowas relaxed and happy. He looked really healthy and content. Lovely couple we would definitely book again. 5 stars.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
