“Maximus absolutely loved staying with you guys 🐶 He’s been well taken care of & has enjoyed all his off lead walks and snuggles on the sofa. Would highly recommend 👌 Thank you again c”

“My boys loved there break with Megan , both were well looked after, one pup got hurt day before , and she did not have any problems going that extra mile to look after him . Would highly recommend”

“Nicole and Matt were amazing with elvis, we were feeling anxious as it was the first time he has stayed out but they really listened to his needs and we felt totally at ease. The photo updates were great and elvis looked like he was having his own little holiday. Would highly recommend and will definitely be using them again.”

“We booked our newly recused dog Zlata in for the weekend at short notice (purely because we can’t communicate plans to each-other in this house!) Zlata had the most amazing time and was looked after so so well. She is live wire and has a lot of energy and we learn new things about her. We were updated regularly how she was doing and sent lots of lovely pictures and videos!! I would 1000000% recommend booking! Thank you”

“Nala had a lovely time and was great to have updates and know she was cared for. Heather was very accommodating with our booking under the circumstances we needed it for and it was very helpful. Thank you so much! Will definitely think of you again if/when we need care for Nala x”

“Alfie absolutely loved staying with Michelle! I wish I had left him with her now for our entire trip, rather than using friends!! I received constant updates, photos and videos, and had peace of mind that he was OK, relaxed and having a nice stay. Will be more than happy to use Michelle again whenever I'm away. Over the moon - thank you so much guys 💕 xx”

“Charlotte and Dan took such great care of my very energetic dog Pickle. She clearly thrived in their care and felt right at home in their cosy space. Thank you Charlotte and Dan, we will be sure to use you again in the future.”

About: I have had dogs as pets pretty much all my life when living at home. Now that I live alone having a dog of my own wouldn’t work due to my job and working away. I would really love to still be able to look after dogs for other people and still get time with yours 😅 I currently work 2 on 4 off which means I’m away for 2 whole days sometimes 3 but back home for 4 so I have alot of free time. I live in a secure 2 bed flat but my estate has a lot of greenery where they can be out and about doing lots of walking.
About: I’ve been around dogs for many years and have always had dogs as part of my family, so I understand how important they are and how much love, care and attention they need. I’ve also helped my daughter with her dog-sitting business and bookings, giving me hands-on experience caring for different dogs and understanding their individual routines and needs. I’m a caring, patient and responsible person who genuinely enjoys being around dogs. I’ll make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable and at home while they’re in my care, with plenty of love, attention and cuddles along the way! 🐾❤️ I’m at home full-time and have a very flexible schedule, so your dog will have plenty of company, care and attention throughout the day. I’m available to fit around your dog’s individual routine, whether that means regular walks, playtime, feeding times, cuddles or simply having someone around for reassurance. Because I’m home most of the time, I can provide a calm and loving environment where your dog won’t be left alone for long periods. I’m happy to follow their usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and settled while they’re staying with me. 🐾❤️ Your dog will be welcomed into a spacious, comfortable home where they can relax and feel part of the family. I have a large, fully fenced back garden, giving dogs plenty of safe space to enjoy some fresh air, play and explore. I’ll make sure each dog gets plenty of attention, affection and care throughout their stay, while following their usual routine as closely as possible. I’m happy to provide regular toilet breaks, playtime, cuddles and lots of company. I want every dog staying with me to feel safe, settled and at home, with plenty of space both inside and outside to enjoy. 🐾❤️
“Megan and Jack looked after Bernie for me and were absolutely brilliant with my little pup. They sent lots of photos and messages, which really put me at ease. I’d definitely use them again”

“Sharlene was lovely with Mabes and reassured me throughout her sitting. She was really flexible and open to adapting to my anxieties about leaving mabel and treated her as if she was her own. Mabes would love to come back <3”

“Rocket absolutely loved her stay with Emma and her family. If anything she is sad that it was time to come home, but it was really nice to know that she was in such safe care when staying with her. Would absolutely leave rocket with Emma again in the future.”

“Dee clearly loves dogs and she was very good with ours. He was excited to see her and Sid again after our meet and greet. Dee took measures to keep him safe in the hot weather. Nothing was too much trouble and I would thoroughly recommend her- I will certainly be booking her again.”

“I would highly recommend Mark and Sue, they are a very caring couple and made Harley and I feel very welcome, it was like I had known them for years, nothing was too much trouble for them. I’ve never left my fur baby Harley with anyone before, so booked him in for a sleepover before my main holiday at the end of June and he was more than happy to stay with them, he was loved and looked after as if he was their own. I know I can go off on my holidays knowing he will be very well looked after, it will be home from home for him now. Will definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a loving home to look after their pet (fur baby). Thank you both from Harley & Sue xx”

“We have never left Molly with anyone other than family before so was a little apprehensive but what a gem we have found!!! Maria gave us lots of updates during the day with messages & videos of Molly going on walks and playing at home with her and her children. A truly lovely person who we will definitely use again & would highly recommend. Thank you Maria you really made us able to relax and enjoy our holiday x”

“Lola stayed with Matt and his family for a weekend. Everything was great, they were very responsive and sent photos of her stay. We are happy with their services and Lola is already booked for a future date. Thank you.”

“We have used Chris multiple times now to look after our 2 cavapoos. Both are classic “velcro dogs” and even for us it can be overwhelming at times. Chris however is not phased by this and is happy to accommodate any needs you have to make your dog feel like they are at home. Both dogs are very picky eaters and on the most recent occasion she was so helpful in trialling new foods with them and letting us know which seemed best for them. We found it very amusing that on arrival to collect them, our dog was running round with her sock, which is exactly what he does at home! Thanks Chris. See you again next time!”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences – Cannock Chase
We found Nicole at the last minute after being let down by another dog boarder at extremely short notice. I can’t thank Nicole and Dom enough for everything they did for us and Darla from start to finish. Nicole’s experience with dogs was immediately obvious after a well considered meet & greet, making sure Darla was comfortable and that she would get along well with their two lovely dogs, Ben and Mac. Throughout Darla’s stay, Nicole kept us regularly updated with plenty of photos and videos which was really reassuring. I genuinely didn’t worry about Darla once while she was there, as it was clear that she was happy and being treated as part of the family. We’re so grateful to Nicole and Dom for taking such great care of Darla, especially at such short notice. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Nicole again in the future and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, caring and trustworthy dog boarder. Thank you again Amy, Katy & Darla 🐶🐾

Megan was amazing with Neo. I was stressed leaving him with anyone. Megan is a natural dog sitter. Neo took to Megan immediately and I could tell he would be looked after just like I do. On collection Neowas relaxed and happy. He looked really healthy and content. Lovely couple we would definitely book again. 5 stars.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
