Molly had a lovely Christmas break with Linda and Rob. They were very welcoming and Molly was comfortable straight away. Linda was very patient with me whilst I was making Christmas plans and her communication was great. If we lived closer would definitely use again!

Having a business function 5 hours from home and needing to find suitable care for our needy French Bulldog was potentially stressful. So glad we found Cathryn and her wonderfully calming approach. She (and her husband) were super accommodating, communicative, helpful, reassuring. Instantly connecting with Merlin when we dropped him off, and sending photos and messages throughout the evening to reassure. When we are in Staffs again and need repeat care, we will be 100% returning to Cathryn. Highly recommended!!

Dave and Jo provided excellent care to our Standard Poodle, Jeff. We received lots of photos, videos and texts keeping us updated and easing our concern of leaving him for the first time. Jeff came home very happy, and we will definitely book their care again. Brilliant carers.

About: I’ve been around dogs for many years and understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pet. I have always had 1 or 2 dogs in my life since I was born. Currently my partner Angela and I, and our teenage sons have our own friendly 3 year old Labrador, Bailey, who is a much-loved member of our family. As a family, we provide a calm, loving home where dogs are treated like one of our own. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs, so I’ll always take the time to get to know them and follow their normal schedule as closely as possible. Whether they enjoy long walks, shorter strolls, lots of play or simply relaxing with company, I’m happy to adapt to what makes them happiest. I work a few hours each morning from home completing administrative work in my role as a manager of a children’s home, which means I’m around to provide plenty of attention and care throughout the day. We have a secure, fully fenced garden where your dog will have regular access for toilet breaks, playtime and fresh air. Our own Labrador, Bailey is neutered and enjoys two walks each day. We’re happy to tailor walks to suit your dog’s usual routine and exercise needs. Occasionally, we may take dogs to a secure enclosed dog field so they can safely burn off some extra energy. If this is something you’re happy for your dog to do, we’ll discuss it with you beforehand, including how comfortable they are travelling in the car. We also have a cat, but she prefers to keep herself to herself and stays out of the home or in the conservatory, away from any visiting dogs, so they won’t need to interact. To keep dogs happy and entertained, we have plenty of toys, enrichment activities and even a dog paddling pool for warmer days. We also have a large crate available if your dog is crate trained, so there’s no need to bring your own. If your dog doesn’t use a crate, we’ll happily follow their usual sleeping and daily routine to help them feel safe, settled and right at home. Your dog’s safety and wellbeing are my highest priorities. I know how important it is to leave your pet with someone you trust, so I’ll care for them as if they were one of my own. Our home has a secure, fully fenced garden where dogs can safely play and explore under supervision. Inside, they’ll have a comfortable, relaxed family environment with plenty of company, affection and opportunities to rest. Before every stay, I’ll take the time to get to know your dog’s routine, personality and any specific needs, including feeding, medication, exercise and sleeping arrangements. I’ll follow their usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel settled and at home. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can enjoy your time away knowing your dog is safe, happy and well cared for.

I am a returning customer and now Charlotte is Beni's fairy Godmother 🥰🐾, helping me out when I need to be whole day out. Beni truly loves to stay with Charlotte, doesn't stress when I leave and I pick my puppy content and relaxed, with plenty of pictures to enjoy about their day. I cannot recommend Charlotte more for care of your beloved pet when you need.

About: In our family, we are always the ones that our relatives call on to look after their pets when they go on holiday 😊 Mainly because they get spoilt rotten! We always make sure they feel like part of the family and we love having them as much as they enjoy being with us ❤️ I work in a school Monday to Thursday and my husband has one day off in the week. I also have all the school holidays free. We have a large fenced garden and have a wonderful park nearby for lots of walks. We also have two reception rooms so are happy for your fur baby to sleep in luxury in their own room 😀

About: Welcome to The Home and The Hound - luxury, home-from-home dog boarding in a warm family environment. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something that comes very naturally to me. Over the years, I’ve gained lots of hands-on experience with pets of different breeds, ages, temperaments and needs, including through fostering for local charities. Growing up I have always had family pets - both cats and dogs and until a couple of years ago, had our own lovely dog, Bella. All this has given me valuable experience with everything from playful, energetic pups to more nervous dogs who need extra patience, reassurance and a gentle approach. I understand how important it is to feel completely confident when leaving your dog in someone else’s care… My aim is to provide a calm, loving and reliable home where your dog will be treated like one of the family, with plenty of comfort, affection, playtime, countryside walks and one-to-one attention. Every dog is different, so I always take the time to understand their usual routine, personality, likes, dislikes and any special requirements. Whether your dog loves cuddles on the sofa, quiet companionship, enrichment games or long walks, I’ll do my best to make sure they feel safe, settled and truly at home. Your house rules are our house rules when your pet stays with us. I’m so excited to welcome your pup into our family home. My priority is always to make sure both dogs and owners feel happy, reassured and well cared for from the moment they arrive until the moment they go home. I work from home in Swadlincote, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine and I’m around throughout the day to give dogs plenty of company, attention and reassurance. Dogs staying with us will be part of our normal family home life, with time for walks, garden breaks, play, rest and cuddles. Whilst I will always remain the sole carer looking after your pets while they stay with us, my husband is a Head of Year at a local secondary school, so during school holidays - often peak boarding times - there is even more time, attention and hands-on help at home. Our two children, who are very ‘pet savvy’ through the experience of us fostering pets for several local charities over the years, also enjoy being part of our gentle, dog-loving family environment. I aim to offer two walks a day of between 20 & 60 minutes, depending on your dog’s usual routine, age, energy levels and preferences. We also love visiting secure dog fields for safe, enriching walks and playtime. Meals times will follow your home routine and requests. Your house rules are our house rules when your pet stays with us I offer a safe, calm and loving home-from-home environment with no pets of my own. For this year, I’ll only be boarding one dog, or one household of dogs, at a time, so your dog will receive dedicated one-to-one care and personalised attention throughout their stay. Dogs will always be supervised when using our fully secure, fenced garden, and I will follow your guidance closely around feeding, walks, sleeping arrangements, routines, training cues and any special requirements. I understand how important it is to feel reassured when leaving your dog, so I’ll do everything I can to help them feel safe, settled and loved. Your dog will be welcomed into our family home and cared for with patience, kindness and consistency, just as I would want for my own, and you will be provided with regular photo and video updates throughout their stay with us.

About: Hello! I love walking & taking care of all animals, especially dogs! Over the years I have gained alot of experience and I have a few qualifications in animal care too. I do this to help keep dogs out of the kennels, to help stop them from getting poorly and ensure that they are well cared for with lots of attention. I love going for long, refreshing walks. If given the opportunity to care for your dog, I promise to treat them well and make sure they have a fantastic time. Most of my repeated clients choose to book continually off the rover app, with time if this is something you’d prefer, please let me know ☺️ I am very trustworthy and honest, I will take care of your dog as if it were one of mine. I make sure to always put pets first, making sure they are comfortable and relaxed in my home. I also can take lots of photos and videos of your pet, if you’d like, to show you what mischief we have gotten up to on our adventure!

Janny took a last minute booking from me a couple of days before when I had been let down for care for my spaniel Charlie. I was kept in the loop during the 2 days she looked after him for me and sent me regular updates reassuring me he was happy and comfortable despite it being his first time staying with them! He loved playing with Rosy and it’s a relief to have this service on my door step for when I need. Would definitely book again, thank you Janny xx

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
