About: Welcome to The Home and The Hound - luxury, home-from-home dog boarding in a warm family environment. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something that comes very naturally to me. Over the years, I’ve gained lots of hands-on experience with pets of different breeds, ages, temperaments and needs, including through fostering for local charities. Growing up I have always had family pets - both cats and dogs and until a couple of years ago, had our own lovely dog, Bella. All this has given me valuable experience with everything from playful, energetic pups to more nervous dogs who need extra patience, reassurance and a gentle approach. I understand how important it is to feel completely confident when leaving your dog in someone else’s care… My aim is to provide a calm, loving and reliable home where your dog will be treated like one of the family, with plenty of comfort, affection, playtime, countryside walks and one-to-one attention. Every dog is different, so I always take the time to understand their usual routine, personality, likes, dislikes and any special requirements. Whether your dog loves cuddles on the sofa, quiet companionship, enrichment games or long walks, I’ll do my best to make sure they feel safe, settled and truly at home. Your house rules are our house rules when your pet stays with us. I’m so excited to welcome your pup into our family home. My priority is always to make sure both dogs and owners feel happy, reassured and well cared for from the moment they arrive until the moment they go home. I work from home in Swadlincote, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine and I’m around throughout the day to give dogs plenty of company, attention and reassurance. Dogs staying with us will be part of our normal family home life, with time for walks, garden breaks, play, rest and cuddles. Whilst I will always remain the sole carer looking after your pets while they stay with us, my husband is a Head of Year at a local secondary school, so during school holidays - often peak boarding times - there is even more time, attention and hands-on help at home. Our two children, who are very ‘pet savvy’ through the experience of us fostering pets for several local charities over the years, also enjoy being part of our gentle, dog-loving family environment. I aim to offer two walks a day of between 20 & 60 minutes, depending on your dog’s usual routine, age, energy levels and preferences. We also love visiting secure dog fields for safe, enriching walks and playtime. Meals times will follow your home routine and requests. Your house rules are our house rules when your pet stays with us I offer a safe, calm and loving home-from-home environment with no pets of my own. For this year, I’ll only be boarding one dog, or one household of dogs, at a time, so your dog will receive dedicated one-to-one care and personalised attention throughout their stay. Dogs will always be supervised when using our fully secure, fenced garden, and I will follow your guidance closely around feeding, walks, sleeping arrangements, routines, training cues and any special requirements. I understand how important it is to feel reassured when leaving your dog, so I’ll do everything I can to help them feel safe, settled and loved. Your dog will be welcomed into our family home and cared for with patience, kindness and consistency, just as I would want for my own, and you will be provided with regular photo and video updates throughout their stay with us.

About: I’ve always had dogs in my family home, i now live in a 2 bed house with a secure garden as new venture and love any animals to fill my spare time I work full time. Generally able to look after pets from Friday evening across the weekend. Some Saturdays I may be unavailable. Get in touch ! Regular toilet walks would be provided as I am currently living in a pet friendly Apartment building. I will always be in the apartment or out walking with the pet.

About: I have studied animal care and agriculture at college, I then went on to completing my level 2 dog grooming apprenticeship where I handled all different types of breeds and their different personalities. I look forward to hearing from you. Pet sitting is my full time occupation, so I offer 24 hour care of your pets in your home. This works well for anxious pets who do not cope well with alternative boarding services such as kennels and catteries. They get to stay in the comfort of their own home, following their usual routines, and getting spoilt rotten by me. I can assure you that I am deeply respectful of your home and will leave it exceptionally clean and tidy for your return. I offer a free meet and greet prior to you booking my services, during which all your pets needs are discussed and agreed upon. I also ask you to complete a form detailing all of your pets needs for me to refer back to during the sit. I am happy to water plants, collect mail, and take out the bins while you are away - all of which indicates that your house is occupied and therefore more secure.

I’ve had hands-on experience with a range of dogs, from gentle, easygoing companions like my own Lab/collie Milo (“Spuds”) to energetic, intelligent pups like my new addition golden retriever Goose. This allows me to act proactively and keep your pet secure at all times. I provide proper feeding, constant access to fresh water, tailored play and enrichment, and medication administration if needed. I take time to truly get to know each pet — their personality, habits and routine — so they feel comfortable, relaxed and cared for. Sticking to what’s familiar helps reduce stress and keeps your pet happy while you’re away.

About: I have taken care of animals since I was 8 years old. I started taking care of dogs when I was 14 years old at my work places dog boarding kennels when they were built. I was trusted by families to look after their pet while they were away or at work, including walking, bathing, administering medication and feeding. I have worked with rescue dogs, ex police dogs as well as family dogs of any size! I am confident around large dogs. I work Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm. I am available all day on Saturdays and Sundays and I can do evenings Monday - Friday after 5:30pm. I work from home 3 times a week. I will introduce myself to your pet slowly and calmly until your pet is comfortable with me. I will make sure I can take the owners pet out confidently and safely before doing so.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a child. I walk with my dogs twice a day at least . I love to spend a lot of time with any kind of dogs whatever they are small, medium or large size: I used to had 4 dogs at some point of time. Dogs are our wonderful friends and family members. I always keeping taking care the pet in my daily life . I’m spending a lot of time with fur baby except feeding time and walking time . I have a backyard for your lovely boy/girl for playing with my lovely big boy. All dogs are allowed to sit on the sofa and enjoy a movie time if they are interested. Basically the short walk schedule will be at lunch time between 11-2pm or dinner time between 6-8 pm for 20-30 min and there is long walk and playtime for an hour in playground everyday if not a rainy day. My schedule is always open to you. I am available all the all if no booking. Please let me know if you need me. :) We are always welcome your pets can sit/sleep on furniture and my bed if they are love to do that. We will give extra treats if they love to eat and no allergies.

Her house is lovely, with a nice garden, and she welcomed our dog with open arms. Lorena was great, and our dog was thrilled with her. We'd for sure do this again if we come back to the UK.”
