Was grateful to Brad who answered our call at relatively short notice. He is punctual and very clear in his attitude towards his service. We couldn’t have asked for more. Little Jim requires a fair bit of attention which he received. Wouldn’t hesitate to use Brad again. Thank you.

About: Welcome to The Home and The Hound - luxury, home-from-home dog boarding in a warm family environment. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something that comes very naturally to me. Over the years, I’ve gained lots of hands-on experience with pets of different breeds, ages, temperaments and needs, including through fostering for local charities. Growing up I have always had family pets - both cats and dogs and until a couple of years ago, had our own lovely dog, Bella. All this has given me valuable experience with everything from playful, energetic pups to more nervous dogs who need extra patience, reassurance and a gentle approach. I understand how important it is to feel completely confident when leaving your dog in someone else’s care… My aim is to provide a calm, loving and reliable home where your dog will be treated like one of the family, with plenty of comfort, affection, playtime, countryside walks and one-to-one attention. Every dog is different, so I always take the time to understand their usual routine, personality, likes, dislikes and any special requirements. Whether your dog loves cuddles on the sofa, quiet companionship, enrichment games or long walks, I’ll do my best to make sure they feel safe, settled and truly at home. Your house rules are our house rules when your pet stays with us. I’m so excited to welcome your pup into our family home. My priority is always to make sure both dogs and owners feel happy, reassured and well cared for from the moment they arrive until the moment they go home. I work from home in Swadlincote, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine and I’m around throughout the day to give dogs plenty of company, attention and reassurance. Dogs staying with us will be part of our normal family home life, with time for walks, garden breaks, play, rest and cuddles. Whilst I will always remain the sole carer looking after your pets while they stay with us, my husband is a Head of Year at a local secondary school, so during school holidays - often peak boarding times - there is even more time, attention and hands-on help at home. Our two children, who are very ‘pet savvy’ through the experience of us fostering pets for several local charities over the years, also enjoy being part of our gentle, dog-loving family environment. I aim to offer two walks a day of between 20 & 60 minutes, depending on your dog’s usual routine, age, energy levels and preferences. We also love visiting secure dog fields for safe, enriching walks and playtime. Meals times will follow your home routine and requests. Your house rules are our house rules when your pet stays with us I offer a safe, calm and loving home-from-home environment with no pets of my own. For this year, I’ll only be boarding one dog, or one household of dogs, at a time, so your dog will receive dedicated one-to-one care and personalised attention throughout their stay. Dogs will always be supervised when using our fully secure, fenced garden, and I will follow your guidance closely around feeding, walks, sleeping arrangements, routines, training cues and any special requirements. I understand how important it is to feel reassured when leaving your dog, so I’ll do everything I can to help them feel safe, settled and loved. Your dog will be welcomed into our family home and cared for with patience, kindness and consistency, just as I would want for my own, and you will be provided with regular photo and video updates throughout their stay with us.

About: We’re proud, happy owners of our mini dachshund, Daisy, who is 7 years old and truly part of our family. Before Daisy, we shared many wonderful years with our standard dachshund, Bella. When Bella sadly passed away, we felt a huge hole in our hearts and in our home—bringing Daisy into our lives helped heal that space and reminded us just how special the bond with a dog can be. Because dogs are family to us, not just pets, we treat every dog in our care with the same love, respect, and attention we give our own. Daisy goes everywhere with us, and our lifestyle naturally revolves around being dog-friendly—walks, outings, routines, and home life are all designed with dogs in mind. Our experience includes: Caring for dogs of all ages, from playful puppies to senior dogs Understanding breed-specific needs, especially dachshunds Providing calm support for anxious or sensitive dogs Creating a true “home away from home” environment We don’t just watch dogs—we welcome them into our family while you’re away. Pet care is a natural part of our everyday life—it’s built into our routine, not something we squeeze in around other priorities. We’re a family of three dog lovers—two adults and our 17-year-old son—and our days already revolve around our own dog, Daisy. I’ve just completed my bachelor’s degree and am now pursuing my master’s online, which means I’m home most of the time and able to give dogs constant attention, supervision, and care. Because someone is always home: Dogs are never left alone Walks, playtime, feeding, and cuddles happen on a steady, relaxed schedule Anxious dogs get calm companionship and reassurance Our home is quiet, stable, and dog-focused. Pet care isn’t a side task for us—it’s part of how we live every day. When pets stay in our home, they become part of our family routine. We focus on keeping their days calm, happy, and as close as possible to what they’re used to at home. Our house has a large, secure garden that dogs can access throughout the day for fresh air, play, and toilet breaks. Whether they love running around, sunbathing, or just sniffing everything in sight, they have plenty of space to enjoy safely. We also live just a few minutes’ walk from the Burton riverside, which is perfect for relaxed walks, longer adventures, and letting dogs explore new sights and smells in a safe, natural setting. Daily care includes: Regular feeding based on your dog’s normal schedule Plenty of outdoor time in our garden Walks suited to your dog’s age, energy, and health Playtime Quiet rest time and lots of affection If caring for a dog in their own home, we follow their usual routine as closely as possible—same feeding times, walk routes, rules, and habits—so they feel secure and comfortable while you’re away.

About: I’m an experienced and certified animal carer with many years of hands-on experience. I look after a wide range of animals, from parrots and guinea pigs to cats and dogs. I’ve completed a professional animal care course, but most of my knowledge comes from real life experience and daily work with animals. I’m calm, patient and very good at reading animal behaviour. Cats and dogs feel comfortable around me quickly, and I always focus on their safety, routine and wellbeing. Whether your pet needs walks, feeding, playtime or quiet companionship, they’ll be treated with care and respect. I am currently working the casual am shift Monday to Friday 08:00 -04:00 and I'm driving so I can commute before work and after work to look after your loved one Your pet’s safety always comes first. I take full responsibility for creating a safe and calm environment, which means understanding your pet’s health, surroundings and any potential risks in advance. This allows me to act proactively and keep your pet secure at all times. I provide proper feeding, constant access to fresh water, tailored play and enrichment, and medication administration if needed. I take time to truly get to know each pet — their personality, habits and routine — so they feel comfortable, relaxed and cared for. Sticking to what’s familiar helps reduce stress and keeps your pet happy while you’re away.

About: I've had cats in the family since my early teens and have always adored animals of all shapes and sizes. I started my love of pet sitting when a friend of a friend asked me to pop in to feed and walk their dogs many years ago and I haven't looked back! I've been known to look after cats, dogs, rabbits and even chickens both through pet sitting websites and recommendations passed on by friends and neighbours. I now have pets of my own and I always treat other people's pets as I would treat mine (maybe with slightly less baby talk, but we'll see...) Please feel free to read my reviews, so that you can rest assured your little ones will be safe and well looked after in my care!

About: Hi, I’m Phoebe, an experienced and reliable dog walker who genuinely loves spending time with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. I’ve had hands-on experience with a range of dogs, from gentle, easygoing companions like my own Lab/collie Milo (“Spuds”) to energetic, intelligent pups like my new addition golden retriever Goose. I understand that every dog is different, and I always adapt my approach to suit their individual needs; whether that’s a calm, steady walk, a fun and engaging play session, or simply providing company and reassurance. My two friendly, well-socialised dogs will join your pooch (unless you specified otherwise), on a pack walk, drop-in session or day-care adventure. This is a particularly great socialisation opportunity for dogs who enjoy canine company, come from a single-pup household or would benefit from some confidence building with other dogs in a safe and controlled environment. I’m confident with reinforcing good behaviour both inside the home and whilst out and about. Safety, trust, and making sure your dog feels happy and comfortable are always my top priorities. Pet care fits really naturally into my day as I work part-time from home, so I have a lot of flexibility. I tend to start my mornings early, which works perfectly for dogs who need a good walk or some attention before the day gets busy. Because I’m home-based, I can plan my day around the dogs I’m looking after, whether that’s longer walks, more active playtime, or just keeping them company so they’re not left on their own for too long. I’m able to be present and not rushed, which I think makes a big difference. It’s something I genuinely enjoy building into my routine, not squeezing in, so each dog gets the time, care, and attention they need to feel happy and settled. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I’m based in a quiet, rural area with access to safe walking routes and open spaces, ideal for calm, enjoyable walks and enrichment. My approach is always centred around creating a positive, secure, and stress-free experience for every dog in my care. My two friendly, well-socialised dogs, Milo (“Spuds”) and Goose, can also be involved in walks where appropriate, giving your dog the opportunity to enjoy positive pack walks, socialisation, and confidence-building in a safe and controlled environment. Whether I’m caring for your dog during walks, drop-in visits, or pet sitting in your own home, I take a thoughtful and attentive approach, ensuring the environment is safe, familiar, and suited to their needs. I stick closely to your dog’s usual routine, including feeding, exercise, and any specific instructions, so they feel settled and comfortable. I never leave dogs unsupervised and am confident handling different personalities, from energetic and playful to more sensitive, nervous or relaxed dogs, always prioritising calm, positive interactions. You can trust that your dog will be cared for as if they were my own; safe, well looked after, and given plenty of attention, affection, and reassurance while placed in my care.

About: I have years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and puppies of all ages, breeds, and personalities. I provide safe walks, fun playtime, feeding, cuddles, and reliable, loving care tailored to each pet’s unique needs. I currently work shifts, which means my availability can be flexible. On early shifts I am free most afternoons and evenings, and on late shifts I am available most mornings and early afternoons. This allows me to fit in plenty of time for walks, drop-ins, and giving each pet the attention they deserve. In my home, dogs are treated like part of the family. They always have access to fresh water, comfy spaces to rest, and plenty of supervised playtime. I follow each owner’s routine closely, including feeding times, walks, and any special requirements. Safety comes first, so dogs are never left unattended for long periods. Most importantly, I give them love, cuddles, and attention to make them feel safe and happy.

Natasha looked after Bluebell in our home whilst we were away for 4 days. Bluebell is an older cat that needs lots of attention, and we always feel guilty leaving her! Natasha took care of her so well, it completely put our minds at rest that Bluebell was her usual happy, sassy self, and was getting all the affection, brushing, treats and snuggles in bed that she is accustomed to! Natasha kept us updated with regular pics and videos. I had read reviews on Natasha’s business page that their pets felt comfortable with her quickly, and we could tell that was the case with Bluebell straight away; she definitely had a way with animals! Our house was also well looked after and everything was left clean and tidy. Natasha’s genuine care and love for animals is very clear to see. Thank you so much for taking care of our fluffy girl ❤️

FAQs for House Sitting - East Staffordshire

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in East Staffordshire on Rover is £34.5 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 1,748 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across East Staffordshire. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred East Staffordshire walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Staffordshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
