About: Welcome to The Home and The Hound - luxury, home-from-home dog boarding in a warm family environment. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something that comes very naturally to me. Over the years, I’ve gained lots of hands-on experience with pets of different breeds, ages, temperaments and needs, including through fostering for local charities. Growing up I have always had family pets - both cats and dogs and until a couple of years ago, had our own lovely dog, Bella. All this has given me valuable experience with everything from playful, energetic pups to more nervous dogs who need extra patience, reassurance and a gentle approach. I understand how important it is to feel completely confident when leaving your dog in someone else’s care… My aim is to provide a calm, loving and reliable home where your dog will be treated like one of the family, with plenty of comfort, affection, playtime, countryside walks and one-to-one attention. Every dog is different, so I always take the time to understand their usual routine, personality, likes, dislikes and any special requirements. Whether your dog loves cuddles on the sofa, quiet companionship, enrichment games or long walks, I’ll do my best to make sure they feel safe, settled and truly at home. Your house rules are our house rules when your pet stays with us. I’m so excited to welcome your pup into our family home. My priority is always to make sure both dogs and owners feel happy, reassured and well cared for from the moment they arrive until the moment they go home. I work from home in Swadlincote, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine and I’m around throughout the day to give dogs plenty of company, attention and reassurance. Dogs staying with us will be part of our normal family home life, with time for walks, garden breaks, play, rest and cuddles. Whilst I will always remain the sole carer looking after your pets while they stay with us, my husband is a Head of Year at a local secondary school, so during school holidays - often peak boarding times - there is even more time, attention and hands-on help at home. Our two children, who are very ‘pet savvy’ through the experience of us fostering pets for several local charities over the years, also enjoy being part of our gentle, dog-loving family environment. I aim to offer two walks a day of between 20 & 60 minutes, depending on your dog’s usual routine, age, energy levels and preferences. We also love visiting secure dog fields for safe, enriching walks and playtime. Meals times will follow your home routine and requests. Your house rules are our house rules when your pet stays with us I offer a safe, calm and loving home-from-home environment with no pets of my own. For this year, I’ll only be boarding one dog, or one household of dogs, at a time, so your dog will receive dedicated one-to-one care and personalised attention throughout their stay. Dogs will always be supervised when using our fully secure, fenced garden, and I will follow your guidance closely around feeding, walks, sleeping arrangements, routines, training cues and any special requirements. I understand how important it is to feel reassured when leaving your dog, so I’ll do everything I can to help them feel safe, settled and loved. Your dog will be welcomed into our family home and cared for with patience, kindness and consistency, just as I would want for my own, and you will be provided with regular photo and video updates throughout their stay with us.

About: We have been fostering dogs for around 6 years now and have also adopted 3 dogs of our own. Our dogs welcome every foster dog we have had and easily adapt. i am from a medical and caring background so you can be sure your loving dog is in safe hands. We have 3 lovely dogs and now I'm only part time ( just 2 hours in the morning from 6-8am) I have plenty of time to take care of your pet. We treat all pets as if they are our own, and include them into any activity we undertake. Our garden is fully enclosed and the safety of your pet is our promise to you.

Unfortunately we had to cancel the stay at late notice due to sickness. We were gutted but Leanne Jane was really understanding. We will be looking to book again soon. About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was young, and friends, neighbours and family regularly rely on me to walk, feed, bathe and play with their pets. I run my own pet care business, so I’m experienced with all temperaments, routines and needs. Your pet will always get patient, attentive and loving care. I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility for pet care throughout the week. I’m available for drop-ins and walks most weekdays after 2pm, with full availability on weekends. I always make time to give pets proper attention, play and companionship — never rushed visits. I prioritise safety and comfort in every home I visit. I follow each pet’s routine closely, keep owners updated with photos, and ensure fresh water, clean spaces and supervised play at all times. About: Zookeeper working with great apes with a passion for the outdoors and pets! I have 2 relevant animal degrees including animal welfare, clinical animal behaviour and training I have plenty of time for walkies (and treats), mostly in the evenings. Working throughout the day but can regularly visit home as I live on site at my work. I have a private apartment near to work, attached to enclosed fields in which the animal can enjoy. The apartment is cool and quite year round.

About: Having had dogs throwing life and having had my own for the past 10years and been a regular sitter for those of friends and family too I love the joy that a dog can bring to you home and your life overall. I really enjoy the time out and the mindfulness of walking a dog and in the comfort and care you get from them in return when chilling at home afterwards. Although full time employed I routinely work from home and a can adapt my day to suit the potential needs of any booking. I can work remotely while dog sitting in your home or arrange to walk your dog as part of my days routine. I would consider being your dog into my own home if they are sociable and gel with my own cocker poo Martha. I am caring and considerate and would respect your home as my own if caring for you dog in your own home. I would follow all instructions given. If bring them to my home I have a securely fenced garden should the care be in my own home. I also know of many wonderful walks int he area that are safe and dog friendly.

About: I have been around dogs and many animals my entire life! My parents have previously owned 2 boxer dogs and a jack russell, so i have experience with both big and small dogs. I also look after my aunties dog and cat regularly by taking him out for walks, feeding him and of course playing! She has also had 2 other cats previously that i looked after too. So i have the trust and respect you and your animals are looking for. My friends too have animals that i occasionally look after as they know i am capable. I am currently working part time at a cafe which will soon be full time. Please message me, even if i am unavailable i am very flexible! I usually go to others houses to look after so bringing other animals into my home won’t be an option unfortunately. I am happy to if it is urgent as i have an open house with a big garden that is all fenced off.

About: I have owned a dog all my adult life and come from a family of dog lovers, we have all different breeds and sizes which as a family we all care for together, we often meet up and socialise them together. Having had dogs myself I have cared for them from puppy to their final years. I have 2 Frenchies and a cat of my own, after recently being made redundant I decided to work for myself dog walking as I love Dogs, walking, and understand the stress this takes on working dog parents.
