“Very reliable and great with our dog. Lily was perfectly on time, did everything we asked and left our house spotless. We also got some great pictures throughout the day. Will definitely book again”

“Melissa and Sam were super professional and took care of our dogs exactly how we needed. We felt we trusted them right away and their care for dogs is clear from the get go. They kept us updated with photos and texts when needed over the weekend and our house was left clean and tidy. We wouldn't hesitate to come back to Melissa and Sam again in the future! Thanks both ☺️”

“Leanne was absolutely wonderful! From the very first message, she was kind, professional, and so easy to communicate with. During the stay, she kept us updated with lovely messages and photos, which made us feel completely at ease while we were away. Our doggy was so happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for. Everything went perfectly, and it’s such a comfort to know we’ve found someone we can trust. X We’ll definitely be booking with Leanne again in the future. Highly recommend! ❤️🐾”

“Lauren is an amazing sitter! We got daily updates which was lovely, and our little Lottie was clearly happy and well looked after. Came home to a spotless house too. Would 100% recommend! 🫶”

“Christoper provided a great service looking after our doggies. He was greeted with a poorly dog and coped beyond what we had expected. Daily updates were much appreciated and kept us at ease. I hope he enjoyed.”

“As ever Brad is such a dependable sitter. The boys store him & each time we return they appear to be content. One can’t ask for more than that. Highly recommended. Thanks again Brad.”

“Absolutely brilliant Great communication from start to finish. Our dog Indie took to Abigail straight away. She looks happier and healthier than when we left her! Would thoroughly recommend Abigail to anyone looking for any kind of dog sitting/walking/boarding. Will definitely be using again”

“Nicola was amazing. I instantly saw she had a true love and understanding of dogs, and Brian took to her immediately, wanting to kiss at her face and have cuddles. He's a snuggle boi, and she welcomed this immediately. Our meet and greet went smoothly, all relevant questions answered about his care and needs, and so I knew he was in good hands on my wedding day. No stress. I received pictures, a message regarding travel and then a leaving message at the end. I found her professional, level-headed and warm hearted, putting me at ease and being a delight. Brian was very happy when we came home, not anxious in the least, and I knew he'd been loved on all day.”

“Wow! Peter has been absolutely amazing. After a bad experience with another dog sitter, Peter was only to happy to meet and greet before, our fur babies absolutely had the best day and were so relaxed. Peter took such great care of them, Poppy was snuggled up, Teddy loved his walks and Peter loved and cared for them just as we would. Took a huge amount of stress and anxiety away, sent us updates and genuinely a great dog sitter. Thank you so much Peter x”

“Lucy looked after our two terriers overnight within our home, she's super friendly and trustworthy, and the dogs loved her! It was very warm but Lucy took the dogs out later in the evening once it was cooler. Lucy sent regular updates and ohotos to let us know how they were all getting on. Definitely recommend, thanks Lucy!”

“Brilliant again. We just love Richard and Bee. They take great care of our two dogs, and I know they’re in safe hands. Lots of updates, and they always make sure they’ve got everything they need - including feeding our fussy little frenchie and giving her medication. The house is always looked after too, they even brought our bins in for us when they dog sat for the day”

About: Welcome to The Home and The Hound - luxury, home-from-home dog boarding in a warm family environment. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something that comes very naturally to me. Over the years, I’ve gained lots of hands-on experience with pets of different breeds, ages, temperaments and needs, including through fostering for local charities. Growing up I have always had family pets - both cats and dogs and until a couple of years ago, had our own lovely dog, Bella. All this has given me valuable experience with everything from playful, energetic pups to more nervous dogs who need extra patience, reassurance and a gentle approach. I understand how important it is to feel completely confident when leaving your dog in someone else’s care… My aim is to provide a calm, loving and reliable home where your dog will be treated like one of the family, with plenty of comfort, affection, playtime, countryside walks and one-to-one attention. Every dog is different, so I always take the time to understand their usual routine, personality, likes, dislikes and any special requirements. Whether your dog loves cuddles on the sofa, quiet companionship, enrichment games or long walks, I’ll do my best to make sure they feel safe, settled and truly at home. Your house rules are our house rules when your pet stays with us. I’m so excited to welcome your pup into our family home. My priority is always to make sure both dogs and owners feel happy, reassured and well cared for from the moment they arrive until the moment they go home. I work from home in Swadlincote, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine and I’m around throughout the day to give dogs plenty of company, attention and reassurance. Dogs staying with us will be part of our normal family home life, with time for walks, garden breaks, play, rest and cuddles. Whilst I will always remain the sole carer looking after your pets while they stay with us, my husband is a Head of Year at a local secondary school, so during school holidays - often peak boarding times - there is even more time, attention and hands-on help at home. Our two children, who are very ‘pet savvy’ through the experience of us fostering pets for several local charities over the years, also enjoy being part of our gentle, dog-loving family environment. I aim to offer two walks a day of between 20 & 60 minutes, depending on your dog’s usual routine, age, energy levels and preferences. We also love visiting secure dog fields for safe, enriching walks and playtime. Meals times will follow your home routine and requests. Your house rules are our house rules when your pet stays with us I offer a safe, calm and loving home-from-home environment with no pets of my own. For this year, I’ll only be boarding one dog, or one household of dogs, at a time, so your dog will receive dedicated one-to-one care and personalised attention throughout their stay. Dogs will always be supervised when using our fully secure, fenced garden, and I will follow your guidance closely around feeding, walks, sleeping arrangements, routines, training cues and any special requirements. I understand how important it is to feel reassured when leaving your dog, so I’ll do everything I can to help them feel safe, settled and loved. Your dog will be welcomed into our family home and cared for with patience, kindness and consistency, just as I would want for my own, and you will be provided with regular photo and video updates throughout their stay with us.
“As previously, Buddy has been so well looked after! You can tell Colin and Cris are really fond of him and his quirky ways and nothing seems to phase them! I was sent photos and videos while I was away which helped me when I was missing him. I would totally recommend Colin and Cris and I am thankful I found them on Rover!”

“Thank you so much for looking after our cats at such short notice! They were immediately settled and comfort with you both. We loved the twice daily updates and all the photos of them.”

About: Hi, I’m Anna! I have been surrounded by animals my whole life. Growing up, our house was always full of pets. We always had family dogs, plus a huge mix of small furry creatures and reptiles too. Because of that, I am completely comfortable looking after all kinds of pets and understanding their different quirks and personalities. I am currently a PhD student, which means I am very reliable, quiet, and trustworthy. If you need in house pet sitting, I am the perfect fit because my studies allow me to spend plenty of time at your home keeping your pets company and making sure their routine stays exactly the same. Whether your dog needs a long walk to burn off energy, or you have a small pet or reptile that needs specific feeding and cage care, I can help. I love being outdoors and walking, so your dogs will get plenty of quality time outside, and back at your house I will make sure all your instructions are followed perfectly. I will send plenty of updates and photos while you are gone so you know everything is going well. I look forward to meeting your pets! Because of my schedule as a PhD student, my routine is incredibly flexible. I do a lot of my work from a desk, which means I can easily base myself at your house for day care or overnight stays, providing plenty of consistent company and supervision. My routine allows me to easily fit in morning, midday, or evening walks depending on what your dog is used to. Whether you need regular weekday check ins or full time company over the weekend, I can adapt my time to match your pet's normal schedule perfectly. Safety and trust are my main priorities when looking after your pets and your home. When I am house sitting, I treat your space with complete respect, keeping everything clean, tidy, and secure. I make sure to strictly follow your instructions regarding feeding times, routines, and where your pets are allowed to go in the house. I know that every animal is different, so I always take a patient approach. I pay close attention to their body language to make sure they are comfortable and happy, never forcing them into interactions if they are feeling shy or overwhelmed. For walks, I keep dogs on a lead unless we are in a designated safe area and you have explicitly told me they have excellent recall. Before leaving your house, I always double check that doors and gates are properly locked, and that small pets or reptiles are completely secure in their enclosures. You will get regular photo updates throughout the stay so you can see exactly how relaxed and well cared for they are.
“First time we have used Rover and also using Courtney. I have to say Courtney was excellent, she sent photos of the dogs and let us know everything was ok. When we got home everything was clean and tidy and the dogs were happy and had obviously been well cared for. Can’t fault anything. Thanks Courtney”

“Georgina is fantastic! She's so lovely and personable and got on with my dog straight away. She kept me up to date all day with pictures and videos which made being away from him so much easier! Bertie bonded with her straight away and had no issues being left with her. She completely understood the terrier bread and the quirks that go along with it. I'd recommend to anyone looking for a dog sitter that will treat their dog like their own ?”

Lauren recently looked after our cat Monty for a week while we were away and she was FANTASTIC! I was dreading leaving him as it was our first time away since we adopted him but I needn't have worried. I don't think Monty missed us one little bit as he is totally smitten with Lauren and she looked after him perfectly! Lauren was also the perfect housesitter and we came back to a spotless house with all of the bedlinen and towels freshly washed. We won't hesitate to book Lauren again and again. We wouldn't want anyone else looking after Monty!

I booked Lauren to look after our house along with our dog and rabbit and she is highly recommended. Lauren provided regular updates on how the animals were and left the house absolutely spotless when she left. I have been really impressed so much that I have already re-booked for another trip that we have coming up in the next few weeks - I am so glad that I found her :)
