“Lauren is an amazing sitter! We got daily updates which was lovely, and our little Lottie was clearly happy and well looked after. Came home to a spotless house too. Would 100% recommend! 🫶”

“Very reliable and great with our dog. Lily was perfectly on time, did everything we asked and left our house spotless. We also got some great pictures throughout the day. Will definitely book again”

“Was grateful to Brad who answered our call at relatively short notice. He is punctual and very clear in his attitude towards his service. We couldn’t have asked for more. Little Jim requires a fair bit of attention which he received. Wouldn’t hesitate to use Brad again. Thank you.”

“Sam looked after our cats and dogs. He was professional and provided a great service. He and Melissa own a cat and dog so they know their stuff! Highly recommend their service”

About: I have a Level 3 Diploma in Animal Management and a genuine passion for animal welfare. Through both my studies and personal experience, I have developed knowledge of animal behaviour, health, handling and care. I have regularly looked after dogs and cats for family members and family friends, providing feeding, walking, playtime, companionship and general care while owners were away. I am reliable, responsible and committed to ensuring every pet feels safe, comfortable and well cared for. I am confident caring for animals of different ages, personalities and needs. I work full-time as a mental health nurse, but my schedule allows me to plan ahead and organise my time effectively. I am available before and after work, on my days off, and most weekends. Caring for others is a big part of who I am, and I bring the same patience, reliability, and attention to detail to caring for pets. I will always ensure pets receive the care, exercise, attention, and companionship they need, while following their usual routines to help them feel comfortable and secure. The safety and wellbeing of every pet in my care is my top priority. I take the time to learn about each pet’s routine, personality, preferences, and any specific needs before caring for them. Whether in my home or a pet owner’s home, I ensure pets have a safe, comfortable environment, receive plenty of attention, and stick as closely as possible to their normal routine for feeding, exercise, playtime, and rest. I am reliable, organised, and attentive to detail, and I will always follow any instructions provided by the owner. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I provide regular updates and photos for peace of mind. My experience working as a nurse has strengthened my ability to remain calm, responsible, and observant, helping me provide safe and compassionate care for every pet.

About: Welcome to The Home and The Hound - luxury, home-from-home dog boarding in a warm family environment. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something that comes very naturally to me. Over the years, I’ve gained lots of hands-on experience with pets of different breeds, ages, temperaments and needs, including through fostering for local charities. Growing up I have always had family pets - both cats and dogs and until a couple of years ago, had our own lovely dog, Bella. All this has given me valuable experience with everything from playful, energetic pups to more nervous dogs who need extra patience, reassurance and a gentle approach. I understand how important it is to feel completely confident when leaving your dog in someone else’s care… My aim is to provide a calm, loving and reliable home where your dog will be treated like one of the family, with plenty of comfort, affection, playtime, countryside walks and one-to-one attention. Every dog is different, so I always take the time to understand their usual routine, personality, likes, dislikes and any special requirements. Whether your dog loves cuddles on the sofa, quiet companionship, enrichment games or long walks, I’ll do my best to make sure they feel safe, settled and truly at home. Your house rules are our house rules when your pet stays with us. I’m so excited to welcome your pup into our family home. My priority is always to make sure both dogs and owners feel happy, reassured and well cared for from the moment they arrive until the moment they go home. I work from home in Swadlincote, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine and I’m around throughout the day to give dogs plenty of company, attention and reassurance. Dogs staying with us will be part of our normal family home life, with time for walks, garden breaks, play, rest and cuddles. Whilst I will always remain the sole carer looking after your pets while they stay with us, my husband is a Head of Year at a local secondary school, so during school holidays - often peak boarding times - there is even more time, attention and hands-on help at home. Our two children, who are very ‘pet savvy’ through the experience of us fostering pets for several local charities over the years, also enjoy being part of our gentle, dog-loving family environment. I aim to offer two walks a day of between 20 & 60 minutes, depending on your dog’s usual routine, age, energy levels and preferences. We also love visiting secure dog fields for safe, enriching walks and playtime. Meals times will follow your home routine and requests. Your house rules are our house rules when your pet stays with us I offer a safe, calm and loving home-from-home environment with no pets of my own. For this year, I’ll only be boarding one dog, or one household of dogs, at a time, so your dog will receive dedicated one-to-one care and personalised attention throughout their stay. Dogs will always be supervised when using our fully secure, fenced garden, and I will follow your guidance closely around feeding, walks, sleeping arrangements, routines, training cues and any special requirements. I understand how important it is to feel reassured when leaving your dog, so I’ll do everything I can to help them feel safe, settled and loved. Your dog will be welcomed into our family home and cared for with patience, kindness and consistency, just as I would want for my own, and you will be provided with regular photo and video updates throughout their stay with us.
“Christoper provided a great service looking after our doggies. He was greeted with a poorly dog and coped beyond what we had expected. Daily updates were much appreciated and kept us at ease. I hope he enjoyed.”

About: We have been fostering dogs for around 6 years now and have also adopted 3 dogs of our own. Our dogs welcome every foster dog we have had and easily adapt. i am from a medical and caring background so you can be sure your loving dog is in safe hands. We have 3 lovely dogs and now I'm only part time ( just 2 hours in the morning from 6-8am) I have plenty of time to take care of your pet. We treat all pets as if they are our own, and include them into any activity we undertake. Our garden is fully enclosed and the safety of your pet is our promise to you.
“We had a great meet and greet with Leanne Jane, everything was clear and it was obvious that Leanne Jane was going to do everything to make Hugo as comfortable and happy as she could. Unfortunately we had to cancel the stay at late notice due to sickness. We were gutted but Leanne Jane was really understanding. We will be looking to book again soon. Leanne Jane's calm, sensible approach and relaxed energy spoke volumes. Would highly recommend.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was young, and friends, neighbours and family regularly rely on me to walk, feed, bathe and play with their pets. I run my own pet care business, so I’m experienced with all temperaments, routines and needs. Your pet will always get patient, attentive and loving care. I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility for pet care throughout the week. I’m available for drop-ins and walks most weekdays after 2pm, with full availability on weekends. I always make time to give pets proper attention, play and companionship — never rushed visits. I prioritise safety and comfort in every home I visit. I follow each pet’s routine closely, keep owners updated with photos, and ensure fresh water, clean spaces and supervised play at all times. I’m calm, confident with all breeds, and treat every pet as if they were my own.
“Wow! Peter has been absolutely amazing. After a bad experience with another dog sitter, Peter was only to happy to meet and greet before, our fur babies absolutely had the best day and were so relaxed. Peter took such great care of them, Poppy was snuggled up, Teddy loved his walks and Peter loved and cared for them just as we would. Took a huge amount of stress and anxiety away, sent us updates and genuinely a great dog sitter. Thank you so much Peter x”

Although full time employed I routinely work from home and a can adapt my day to suit the potential needs of any booking. “Absolutely brilliant Great communication from start to finish. Our dog Indie took to Abigail straight away. She looks happier and healthier than when we left her! Would thoroughly recommend Abigail to anyone looking for any kind of dog sitting/walking/boarding. Will definitely be using again”

About: I have been around dogs and many animals my entire life! My parents have previously owned 2 boxer dogs and a jack russell, so i have experience with both big and small dogs. I also look after my aunties dog and cat regularly by taking him out for walks, feeding him and of course playing! She has also had 2 other cats previously that i looked after too. So i have the trust and respect you and your animals are looking for. My friends too have animals that i occasionally look after as they know i am capable. I am currently working part time at a cafe which will soon be full time. Please message me, even if i am unavailable i am very flexible! I usually go to others houses to look after so bringing other animals into my home won’t be an option unfortunately. I am happy to if it is urgent as i have an open house with a big garden that is all fenced off.
About: I have owned a dog all my adult life and come from a family of dog lovers, we have all different breeds and sizes which as a family we all care for together, we often meet up and socialise them together. Having had dogs myself I have cared for them from puppy to their final years. I have 2 Frenchies and a cat of my own, after recently being made redundant I decided to work for myself dog walking as I love Dogs, walking, and understand the stress this takes on working dog parents. I offer a free meet up for all new dogs and complete a questionnaire to understand your pets specific needs. I offer a variety of walking services all listed on my website.
“Lucy helped us with our need to look after the two boys & most certainly didn’t disappoint. Every facet of the situation was covered in detail from the pre/meet to the actual time with them. They are happy and the empathy they were shown is evident; particularly with Jim as he needs constant affection. Lucy is an excellent choice and someone we would have no issues in recommending and use of her services again. Many thanks.”

“First time we have used Rover and also using Courtney. I have to say Courtney was excellent, she sent photos of the dogs and let us know everything was ok. When we got home everything was clean and tidy and the dogs were happy and had obviously been well cared for. Can’t fault anything. Thanks Courtney”

“Jordan is fantastic. Our frenchie has bad separation anxiety and is a little medical mess and she took such amazing care of him. He wasn't as nervous or anxious as we've seen when he had other pet sitters and she handled giving him his meds without any problems! Will definitely be hiring her again”

North West Leicestershire pet owners share their Rover experiences
Lauren recently looked after our cat Monty for a week while we were away and she was FANTASTIC! I was dreading leaving him as it was our first time away since we adopted him but I needn't have worried. I don't think Monty missed us one little bit as he is totally smitten with Lauren and she looked after him perfectly! Lauren was also the perfect housesitter and we came back to a spotless house with all of the bedlinen and towels freshly washed. We won't hesitate to book Lauren again and again. We wouldn't want anyone else looking after Monty!

I booked Lauren to look after our house along with our dog and rabbit and she is highly recommended. Lauren provided regular updates on how the animals were and left the house absolutely spotless when she left. I have been really impressed so much that I have already re-booked for another trip that we have coming up in the next few weeks - I am so glad that I found her :)
