About: I’ve always been a huge animal lover 🐾 and love getting to know each pet’s personality…. whether they’re full of zoomies, a bit shy, or just want cuddles and company. I’ve had my own Whippet and Jack Russell, so I’m used to different sizes, energy levels and temperaments. I also have my own cat, so I understand routines, boundaries and helping pets feel safe and settled 🐶🐱 I studied animal care for a year, volunteered at a dog groomers and have experience with dog walking, feeding, fresh water, playtime, litter changes and basic clean-ups. I’m happy to send photo updates and will treat your pet like my own with patience, kindness, care and plenty of compliments! 🥰 My availability varies depending on the service required, but as a general guide: Saturday: flexible all day Sunday: flexible all day Monay - Friday: available after 6pm 🐾 Please message me directly with the service, date and times you need, and I’ll be happy to confirm whether I’m available I’ll care for pets by keeping them safe, comfortable and as close to their usual routine as possible. At home, I have a garden for fresh air and toilet breaks, and I also have a cat, so pets staying with me would need to be comfortable around cats. I’m happy to help with feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, toilet breaks, litter changes, cuddles and company. If I’m caring for pets in their owner’s home, I’ll follow instructions carefully, respect the home, and send photo updates if wanted
“Maisie looked after my two dogs and cat in our home. One of my dogs has a tricky temperament and it is fairly challenging to manage her needs. Maisie was attentive to her needs and took amazing care of all of the animals and we returned to them happy and calm. I would recommend Maisie without hesitation.”

“Tshireletso looked after my cocker spaniel in challenging circumstances in a heatwave with noisy disruptive building work at a property next door. She remained calm and caring, walking Molly early mornings or late in the evening, She looked after my dog with exceptional care, was tidy and respected my home. I would not hesitate to recommend her to look after your pet.”

About: I’ve been around dogs for most of my life and have always loved animals. I grew up with a Weimaraner from the age of 4, and since then I’ve gained many years of hands-on experience with different breeds and personalities. I’ve looked after my brother’s German Shorthaired Pointer since he was a puppy and he turns 5 this November. I’ve lived with and had responsibility for two Pugs from puppyhood for around four years, and a Cockapoo for five years into older age. I’ve also spent time looking after my godmother’s elderly mixed-breed dog, who has some Jack Russell in him, as well as friends’ dogs on occasions when they’ve needed a helping hand. This has included breeds ranging from Dachshund to Greyhound. I’m comfortable with dogs of different sizes, ages and personalities and genuinely enjoy getting to know each dog’s individual character. I’m patient, attentive and responsible, and would treat your dog as if they were my own. I also love wildlife photography, so being outdoors and around animals is something I genuinely enjoy. I’m very comfortable meeting new people and building a rapport, having spent many years working in customer-facing roles and performing. I understand how important it is to feel confident and comfortable with the person caring for your pet, and I’ll always keep owners updated and communicate openly. I currently have plenty of flexibility during the week and can fit pet care around your dog’s routine. My weekend availability can vary, but I’m happy to discuss specific dates and find what works best for you and your pet. Your dog’s safety and comfort would always be my priority. I’ll take the time to understand their routine, personality and any specific needs, and will follow your instructions carefully. I’m also happy to keep you updated during walks or visits so you know how your dog is doing.
About: I genuinely treat every pet like family—caring for them with love, patience, and attention to detail. I’m comfortable caring for senior pets, and keeping up with energetic puppies. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine and personality, ensuring they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. You can count on me for regular updates, photos, and peace of mind! I work as a researcher during the day at the University of Leicester, and since I live on my own, pet sitting is a wonderful way for me to enjoy companionship during the evenings and weekends. I genuinely love spending time with animals—it’s relaxing, rewarding, and brings a sense of balance to my routine. I’m also currently raising funds for a medical mission trip to Uganda, so pet sitting allows me to contribute to a meaningful cause while doing something I truly enjoy. Your pet will be in caring, responsible hands, and you’ll be supporting a good cause too! Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or at the owner’s home, my approach is always the same: make them feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I stick closely to their usual routines for feeding, walks, playtime, and rest to reduce any stress or anxiety. I give each pet plenty of attention and make sure their space is clean and cozy. If I’m in the owner’s home, I treat it with the utmost respect—keeping everything tidy and sending regular updates with photos, so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for. Their wellbeing is always my top priority.

“Max looked after Isla our nervous cockapoo and did a fantastic job. He came to meet her before the booking and she took to him immediately. On the day she even let him take her for a walk, which is really unusual if she doesn’t know the person that well. Max obviously has an affinity and a connection with dogs. He was very polite and friendly and we would definitely recommend him and use him again.”

About: After my westie passed away 8yrs ago, it took me a while to figure what I wanted to do with my life, I’d lived with various dog breeds and cared for them, so the natural path for me to pursue was working with animals, this bought me great happiness and joy, it healed my heart. This is my full time calling, I dog walk on certain days and diary allowing I pet sit, I cover Leicester but I also do ad hoc sits. I always do a meet and greet, get a full history of the pets, walk them with the owner. I get a full rundown of the home. Typical questions: age, breed, allergies, medication, walks, food & treats, vets details, where they sleep, when they were last groomed and vaccinations.
About: Back in my hometown I take care of my dog and my two cats so I am very reliable when it comes to taking care of animals! Since growing up with animals I have always been able to fit into my schedule taking care of pets as i am a very organised person. in the UK pets do not come in my home very often I said do not have a pair of my own but back home I have so many animals in my home.
“Chanel was an absolute dream of petsitter ! We were away for 1 week for our wedding and she left us absolutely “worry free”! She sent pictures everyday and updates on how they were doing and when we came back they were so chilled and happy that it seemed like they had a holiday too. They were treated like king and queen and I will absolutely be looking to book Chanel again when need to in the future. Recommend her to everyone she is really lovely !”

About: I have grown up surrounded by dogs and have always had a deep love for animals. I’m currently staying in Leicester but back in my home country , i dedicated time to helping local shelters and i also have three wonderful dogs that I miss daily while studying abroad. Since I can’t bring them with me, I’m looking forward to spending time with other pets, offering them the same love and care I give my own. Being around animals brings me comfort and joy, and I’d love to be your pet’s new friend while you're away!❤️❤️ With a flexible schedule, I have plenty of time to dedicate to caring for your pets. My university classes are only 2-3 times a week for a couple of hours in the morning, which leaves me with the rest of the day to focus on giving your pets the attention, walks, and playtime they need. Whether it’s during the week or on weekends, I can easily fit pet care into my routine and ensure your furry friends are well taken care of. When pets stay with me, I make sure they feel right at home. I provide a safe and comfortable environment where they can relax, play, and get plenty of attention. Whether it’s cozy indoor spaces or outdoor walks, I tailor the care to their needs, ensuring they get exercise, companionship, and love throughout the day. I also maintain a clean, pet-friendly space, and follow any specific feeding or care routines to keep your pet feeling happy and secure while they’re with me.
About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was 10. Family and friends have always relied on me to check up on them and give them the care they need! I’m available at any time during the week and weekends so I have plenty of time to look after your fury friends! Just let me know when suits you best :) I provide attentive, reliable, and compassionate care tailored to each pet’s individual needs. In my home, pets have a clean, safe, and comfortable environment with plenty of supervision, exercise, playtime, and affection. I follow the owner’s routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, medication (if required), and any special care instructions to help pets feel relaxed and secure. When caring for pets in a pet owner’s home, I respect their home and maintain the pet’s normal routine to minimise stress. I ensure fresh water is always available, provide regular exercise and enrichment, clean up after pets, and keep owners updated with messages and photos for peace of mind. I pay close attention to each pet’s behaviour and wellbeing and would promptly contact the owner or a veterinarian if I noticed any signs of illness or an emergency. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, loved, and well cared for while their owner is away.

About: I’ve spent years caring for dogs who had no one. I have hands-on experience caring for 9–12 dogs daily, including feeding, walking, playing and providing basic medical care. In India, I was responsible for looking after stray dogs—ensuring they were safe, healthy, and never hungry. This taught me patience, responsibility, and how to understand different dog behaviours, from shy and nervous to energetic and playful. I’ve handled: Daily walks and exercise routines Feeding schedules and hygiene care Basic medication and health monitoring Dogs with different temperaments and needs I truly love dogs and naturally connect with them. I’m calm, attentive, and always focused on making sure every dog feels safe, happy, and loved. Now based in UK, I’m excited to give the same level of care and dedication to your pet. I have a very flexible schedule and can accommodate: Morning, afternoon, and evening walks Last-minute bookings Regular daily walks or long-term care I’m happy to adjust to your dog’s routine and needs to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. I can tell my own experience- Before relocating to the UK, I ensured that all the dogs I cared for were responsibly handed over to local authorities so they would continue receiving proper food, medical care, and protection. I take long-term responsibility seriously and always put the well-being of animals first.
“Absolutely lovely people and couldn’t wish for anyone better to look after our crazy boy. Complete trust in leaving Maverick with them for our special day. Definitely would book them again :)”

About: I grew up with dogs my whole life. I take this job seriously. I can also train dogs but the simple tasks using treats for this I’m currently a university student. But my timetable is very flexible. I can do also weekends which are more suitable and more free for me. I love going on walks throughout the city and if i had company by a dog that would be really good. The safety of your dogs is my number one priority and i would never risk or do anything that can harm you or your dog.

So happy with Leanne’s service. Constantly reassured me as I was anxious as I’d never left my pups with anyone before. Got photos and videos of the dogs and they were super happy and calm with Leanne. Came home and the house was immaculate. Thankyou Leanne, will absolutely be using you again ♥️

Completely recommend 😊 She is a natural with dogs and I can’t praise River enough on how well Maggie was treated. River sent us a daily update with photos which gave us peace of mind and reassurance. When we got back Maggie was happy and relaxed and just very well looked after. I would totally 100% recommend River to anyone.

Gemesia has been a fantastic cat sitter from the very beginning. She came to meet us and Loki beforehand, let Loki set the pace, and asked lots of thoughtful questions about his habits and routine. Over the weekend we were away, she kept us well informed with videos both morning and evening, letting us know exactly what Loki was up to and how he was doing. Gemesia made the whole process easy and reassuring, at a time when leaving your pet can be really anxiety provoking. We've already booked her again for our next trip away - highly recommend!

Khushi stepped in at the last minute to manage a hand over from another dog sitter when we were not around. She handled that really well and did a good job keeping Beau as relaxed as possible. She has a very sweet nature and gentleness which Beau responded well too.

Maisie is a lovely dog sitter - 100% reliable and great communication. The dogs were very happy on our return and Maisie coped brilliantly with them during the recent very hot weather. The house was left neat and tidy too. Thank you Maisie, until the next time!

We highly recommend Megan. She did an amazing job looking after our dog and cats while we were away. She was awesome with Patrick, our dog who is a nervous boy and takes time getting to know people. She not only looked after our pets like they were her own but she looked after our home like it was her own. We got updates from her which put our minds at ease and helped us enjoy our trip. We have already booked Megan again for when we go away next month.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Leicester walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Leicester choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
