“This is my first experience of this service. I contacted Maisie to care for my two cats. She responded promptly to my message and was spot on time for the introductory visit. Maisie asked relevant questions about the boys care and explained that I would receive photos and a message after the visit. I was happy with the care provided and would book Maisie again.”

About: I've helped train and care for pets from a young age, both my own and wider families, having sat for family friends in the past on an occasional basis. I have various other commitments to my ongoing university degree and voluntary organisations including Air cadets, but am incredibly flexible on time and can work around any schedule With some experience caring for unruly (although small in that case) dogs, I feel confident to look after dogs of any and all shapes, sizes and personalities, on walks and in any home
About: I’ve loved dogs ever since I was a little girl. I grew up in a small village full of animals, and when I was 9, my family finally got our first dog. I taught him all the basic commands just by watching YouTube videos — and my love for dogs only grew stronger from there. Unfortunately, I had to leave my furry best friend behind in my home country with my parents where he loves it the most and I miss that kind of companionship every single day. Dog sitting, for me, isn’t just a job — it’s my way of reconnecting with that joy, peace, and unconditional love that only dogs can give. I also have experience volunteering on a farm, where I cared for a variety of animals and learned even more about responsibility and animal behavior. Whether it’s cuddles, walks, or simply keeping your dog safe and happy, I’m here to help — with heart and care. I have a special price list for regular clients :) so if its not 1 time walk/sit we can discuss it :) I am currently working part-time and from home so I have plenty of time for your furry friends. I am fully flexible and able to take care of your doggies every single day except Sunday because on Sundays I do volunteering on farm <3 My flat is only 10 minutes from nearest park, unfortunately I don't have a garden, only shared yard and a small flat so its better for me to cuddle your dogs at your place or just go for a walk and play outside.
“Kelly was absolutely amazing, it was so difficult to leave my precious Roxy with a random stranger but she honestly kept me at ease throughout my holiday with updates and photos. I would 100% recommend her to anyone and I’ll definitely use her again in future. She also went through the troubles of feeding the fish and kept an eye on my house and cars. 5 Stars from me. Thanks Kelly x”

“Pricilla replied very fast from start to end and Walter took a liking to her straight away and usually he is very shy with new people, she kept me updated and took a lot of pics and communicated very well throughout, I will be booking her again for sure!”

“Shannon looked after Cosmo and Tokyo and was absolutely brilliant. The cats took to her straight away, which says it all. She was reliable, professional, and a real pleasure to deal with. I felt completely at ease knowing they were in such good hands. Highly recommend.”

About: I’ve had pets since childhood — including dogs, cats, and rabbits — from energetic puppies to senior animals who need extra patience, care, and attention. For me, pets are family, and that’s exactly how I care for them: with love, respect, and dedication. I have hands-on experience with feeding, medication, hygiene, and understanding animal behavior, always adjusting to each pet’s individual needs. I’m passionate about animals and truly believe in the unconditional love they give us. For me, caring for them is a joy — and also a great responsibility that I carry out with the affection they deserve. I work flexible hours for a company based in another country, which allows me to take on walks or pet visits at scheduled times without any problem. During the week, I’m available in the mornings or after I pick up my daughter from school, which is also a great time for park visits and walks. I’m available to care for pets both during the week and on weekends, including for longer periods if needed, always with love, responsibility, and full attention. When I care for a pet in their own home, I always respect their space and routine, following the owner's instructions closely to keep everything as familiar and stress-free as possible. I'm very mindful of safety — paying close attention to doors, gates, windows, and anything that could pose a risk. During walks, I always keep pets on a leash and go at their pace, ensuring they feel comfortable and secure. I value open communication with pet owners and provide regular updates, photos, and notes so they feel confident and at ease while I’m with their pets. For me, the animal’s safety, comfort, and well-being always come first.

I’m available at any time during the week and weekends so I have plenty of time to look after your fury friends! Just let me know when suits you best :) I provide attentive, reliable, and compassionate care tailored to each pet’s individual needs. In my home, pets have a clean, safe, and comfortable environment with plenty of supervision, exercise, playtime, and affection. I follow the owner’s routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, medication (if required), and any special care instructions to help pets feel relaxed and secure. When caring for pets in a pet owner’s home, I respect their home and maintain the pet’s normal routine to minimise stress. I ensure fresh water is always available, provide regular exercise and enrichment, clean up after pets, and keep owners updated with messages and photos for peace of mind. I pay close attention to each pet’s behaviour and wellbeing and would promptly contact the owner or a veterinarian if I noticed any signs of illness or an emergency. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, loved, and well cared for while their owner is away.

“I can say with upmost confidence, Aleksandra is probably one of the best sitters on here. we booked super last minute and we didn’t get much time to talk about the specifics of the care for our cats as they can be a handful at times and require things to be done a certain way. Despite this she was just a natural around my shy cat, she was very professional and I trusted her completely to drop in and to make sure our cats were happy and healthy. I can tell she really cares and has a passion for working with animals. We will always book with Aleksandra indefinitely until she is either busy or stops pet sitting. Thank you Aleksandra 🫶”

“Ria dropped in on my kitten, Luna and I could immediately tell they had a great time. She played with her and fed her and when I returned, Luna seemed really happy. I would definitely be using Ria again to look after Luna. Thanks again!”

About: I am a veterinary surgeon who has had immense experience with a variety of animal species to include neonatal and senior care. I have also looked after various animals with special needs, medical issues and disabilities which I can accommodate for if needed! Being a veterinarian, I am able to commit to pet care than most others and would be able to give my undivided attention to the animal. “Dipali showed respect for all my requirements, and gave me regular updates (including photos) of how my pet (a cat) was doing. It was clear when she visited, and from the photos, that my often nervous pet felt relaxed around her, and she was calm and happy to engage with them. She didn't hesitate to raise a minor issue with me when she encountered it, and on return everything seemed to be in order. She contacted me in a timely fashion to arrange return of my keys. I would not hesitate to use her services again in future.”

About: Hi there! I'm an experienced pet sitter and walker, as well as owner, and have always done it as a favor since I love all kinds of animals and have had some friends who needed somewhere to leave their pets sometimes. I decided to make it professional to help whoever needs a little extra help! I've had pets all my life and was always good with them. At my flat I only have one cat, Nala. I'd love to petsit your cat/dog or take them for walks, making sure to keep them company and provide toilet breaks whenever needed, as well as play and relax a lot! If your pet has any special needs, please tell me, I'll gladly accept and cherish them! I'll also gladly take photos of the walk/daycare with your pet and keep you updated throughout the day! (: Currently working full-time and a Photographer but still looking after your little ones whenever possible! Limited availability but I'm more than happy to help (: Currently not offering boarding services but I can drop in at yours for either a quick check in or a day of fun and relaxation! I usually have some work to do or shows to watch so if your pet is a laid back one, I'll have no problem just chilling with them (:
About: I’ve taken care of pets the majority of my life dogs, cats, and reptiles some of which were rescues and had some behavioural problems/anxiety. I currently have 2 year old Newfoundland and a 7 year old German shepherd who is a nervous dog. I’m used to a wide range of temperaments due to having rescue dogs. I have also looked after cats and reptiles (specifically tortoises and snakes) for family members and friends. I’m currently working as a bartender at night and have just finished university so am very flexible. This means last minute bookings are always welcome. I’m available consistently Monday to Friday with some night work littered over the weekend. I am always very careful when watching dogs outside especially ensuring they don’t ingest anything they shouldn’t as this is always a potential hazard. Also ensuring they have access outside anytime needed along with keeping them entertained by playing with them or setting up enrichment activities. I’m also able to administer medicine if needed as long as there is clear instructions and I’m comfortable doing so.

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Leicester
Gemisia was excellent - sent little videos every day so we knew Mog was content. Mog has a thyroid issue and Gemisia has experience of this with one of her own cats so we were confident that meds would be dealt with correctly. One of the side effects of the condition is that a cat's fur can go a bit clumpy, especially given that our cat is not grooming as thoroughly as she did in her younger years. Gemisia used a gentle dry foam bath on Mog's fur which is looking so much better. Thanks for everything, Gemisia.

Imogen has been brilliant. Plenty of updates, photos and videos of my two cats. She went the further mile by spending time with them so that they didn’t feel abandoned, plus she watered the garden so we didn’t come home to dried dead stalks. I would certainly recommend her and will definitely book her again when I next go on holiday.

Kyra was amazing at looking after the cats - she was very communicative and friendly. She gave the cats alot of her time and you could tell she genuinely wanted to spend time with/ look after them. The cats also warmed upto her which was lovely and very reassuring. She did a very good job and would recommend ❤️

We've had Pricilla look after our cats more than once now, and I honestly couldn't recommend her more highly. She has such a natural intuition with cats and takes the time to understand each of their individual personalities. She showered all three of our cats with so much love and attention, and the biggest testament to her care is that even our incredibly shy girl, who rarely trusts anyone, allowed Pricilla to stroke and fuss her. That meant the world to us. We were able to relax completely knowing they were in such caring, capable hands. Thank you so much, Pricilla, for treating our cats as if they were your own. We wouldn't hesitate to book with you again! ❤️

Mariya is a wonderful cat-sitter: She responds quickly, asks all the right questions about taking care of your pet, and keeps you updated with photos while you're away. She took the time to let my cat get comfortable around her when they first met, and was happy not just to stop by briefly but to give my cat some attention and affection during her visits. For what it's worth, Césarée gave her a head-butt of approval. Thanks again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
