“Having a business function 5 hours from home and needing to find suitable care for our needy French Bulldog was potentially stressful. So glad we found Cathryn and her wonderfully calming approach. She (and her husband) were super accommodating, communicative, helpful, reassuring. Instantly connecting with Merlin when we dropped him off, and sending photos and messages throughout the evening to reassure. When we are in Staffs again and need repeat care, we will be 100% returning to Cathryn. Highly recommended!!”

“Upon meeting for the 1st time Droskyn was happy and content. During his stay we received regular pupdates and photographs and was reassured that Droskyn was well . He had plenty of exercise and play and we were 100% happy with the care he received. I would definitely recommend Linda and Rob if your looking for Homeboarding for your dog. Thankyou so much to you both .”

“I could not recommend Dina and her little dog Daisy enough ☺️ We did a meet and greet prior to my holiday just to make sure the dogs would get on ok. I knew there would be no issues and was more than happy for my dog to be looked after by Dina. Dina kept me updated with photos throughout the week and I could tell my dog was having a lovely time and was very happy with her surroundings. My dog is 15 so can have days where she’s a little more tired than others but everything was accommodated. A perfect little holiday for my pooch ☺️ 🐾”

“My dog Monty stayed with Joy and Richard fir the first time last week.. what a wonderful experience. I cant recommend them highly enough. The care and attention they gave Monty was 7 Stars. I received videos and updates every day. Very reassuring and will definitely use them again.”

“Bobby has had such a lovely holiday, Charlotte looked after him so well and took the time to get to know him and his quirky little personality. Charlotte kept us updated regularly which was so lovely and put our minds at rest and I really hope we have the opportunity to use Charlotte’s services again frequently in the future! Would highly recommend 👏🏼🥰”

“TiBaba, quickly felt at home at Josie’s as he was warmly welcomed by Josie and Sadie. And I received regular updates including pictures about TiBaba while he was at Josie’s. I would gladly recommend Josie.”

“I can highly recommend Laura. She looked after Lola at short notice and i could see from pictures and videos Lola was so settled and really enjoyed her time with Stitch. Thank you so much Laura.”

“Hannah & Teddy, Looked after our fur babies for 3 days. Everything ran smoothly. They care for them like their own loved pets. Infact, neither dog appeared to want to come home! Will be in touch again next time we need a dog sitter. thanks very much”

About: I’ve been caring for animals all my life as I grew up with dogs, cats and ponies. I began my working life in the 1980’s as a veterinary nurse for a few years and then a dairy hand, raising calves in Israel for several years. On my return to England I began free lance yard work at various livery stables and house sitter for large and small animals. As this is my full time employment, all my care and attention will be focused on your pets, so plenty of time for walks and play, depending on your dogs needs. I have a fenced garden and a friendly miniature bull terrier for company. We go on lots of walks and as I have a car, we travel to some lovely woods and country walks. I’ve been house sitting for a few years now so am pretty adept at finding new walks in new areas and navigating a variety of kitchens ( almost more tricky than going out for a walk! ). House sitting allows me to keep the animals of the household in their routine, care for all the pets there and keep an eye on the property itself.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you!! To you and your family for taking care of our little gangster’s. They are content and sleeping on the sofa wrapped in blankets, their favourite place. Great communication, reassurance and happy dogs. We will definitely be asking Alice for help again 🐾🐾❤️”

“I’m not gonna lie, we were really stressed as it was the first boarding experience for our dog. William and Sue made it so much easier for us. William made sure that our boy has his daily portion of activities! We were receiving regular updates (that definitely made our holiday better and stress free). Thank you both again and hopefully see you soon!”

“Amazing sitter. Hugo stayed last minute and you listened to every requirement. Extremely flexible and understanding with everything. Thank you for everything. Definitely considered in the future”

“Milly seemed to have a great time staying with Tulaine, she was clearly well looked after. Tulaine sent regular updates, so we always knew what they had been up to. We wouldn't hesitate to leave Milly with Tulaine next time we go away!”

“Lisa is a fantastic dog sitter. Had a play date for the first visit so both dogs could interact and be comfortable with each other. Our dog A’mari was entertained all day with 2 long walks, lots of playing with toys and treats. Lisa makes it a home from home experience and will definitely be booking again ☺️”

“Janny & Frankie Looked after Rosie brilliantly, I was sent pictures everyday of Rosie really enjoying herself she looked so happy, I would recommend janny & Frankie 100% and we will be using them again on our next holiday . Thank you”

“Coco has been very well looked after by Calley and her family, she’s really enjoyed her stay with them. I love that I was updated every single day with a message and photos which really put me at ease. We’ve never left her with anyone before and I 100% recommend this sitter to anyone. A very loving family who love dogs and treat them as their own. I would give 10 stars if I could. Thank you so much 😊👍🏼🐶🐾 ⭐”

“Fabulous! Roma stayed for 6 nights and was exceptionally well looked after. She had a great time with Betty too. We were kept well informed and received loads of photos. Will definitely be booking again. Thanks so much 😊”

“Abigail takes such great care of Spice, we really appreciate her care with our old kitty. Daily updates and photos are given which give us a lot of reassurance when we are away 😊”

“Liv was excellent caring for our 2 kittens. You could tell they had been happy to have her look after them. She is friendly and responsible, gives great play time and cuddles. Will definitely book her next time we go away and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to know their fur babies are happy and safe when they go away :)”

“The most professional cat sitter we ever had! She followed our instructions, was very friendly with our little boy and went above and beyond! We really enjoyed our time away without stressing about home or if the cat was okay in our absence. Thank you for your passion. 💕💐”

“Betty was brilliant with our two cats. Her communication is excellent and we were able to have a restful break knowing they were being so well looked after. I highly recommend Betty as a trustworthy and reliable cat sitter. ”

“Abbie was trustworthy reliable and very informative. My cats were happy to see her when she popped round. They were kept happy healthy and fussed. I would highly recommend her for your pet care! Will definitely be calling upon her again in the future! Thank you!”

“Bonnie loves when Imogen comes round to visit her and play with her while we are at work. Always keeping us updated with what they did and how Bonnie is❤️ Couldn’t recommend enough, your fur babies will be most definitely looked after in the hands of Imogen 🐶”

“We’re grateful to Cathryn for helping out with our cats while we were away. Communication was clear, and everything seemed fine when we returned. However, we did notice the visit lasted around 20 minutes rather than the full 30 minutes we had agreed and paid for, which we would have appreciated being respected. Additionally, we weren’t sure if our full feeding instructions were followed, as we couldn’t find any dry food left out, which made us wonder if the cats only received their wet food. We always aim to give honest feedback to help sitters improve, and we hope this helps for future visits.”

About: I have two dogs of my own and have been a dog walker for 3 years. I have a certification in pet first aid and am fully insured. I also have a van and offer group walks. I work between 4 and 6 during the week and have flexible university hours meaning I'll be able to work around the pet owner's schedule. I have a fenced yard as well as two friendly dogs to keep your dog company. I can crate your dog if needed but have plenty of room to play.
About: From the moment I got my Dobermann, Mila, in December 2021, I was completely hooked on dogs. Their unique personalities, their boundless energy, and their unconditional love quickly turned me from a dog lover to dog obsessed! When Mila sadly and unexpectedly passed in 2024, I knew I needed to honour her by dedicating more of my life to dogs - especially those still waiting to feel the love she gave me. That’s when I began volunteering at Just for Dogs, a local rescue. For the past year, I’ve spent every Saturday and Sunday walking rescue dogs, giving them much needed human interaction, and helping them build confidence. Even more rewarding has been opening my home to foster some of these dogs - providing them with a safe, loving space where they can adjust to home life and prepare for their forever families. From nervous to confident, tiny to huge, cuddle bugs to playful adventurers, it’s been an honour to play a small role in their journey to happiness. With this experience, I feel confident in offering the very best care for your dog - tailored to their unique needs and personality. Whether it’s long walks, sofa cuddles, playtime, or simply being a calm companion, I’ll make sure your pup feels safe, happy, and loved. I work full-time Monday to Friday, but my flexible hours and ability to work from home mean I can easily fit pet care into my daily routine. This allows me to provide dog walks, drop-in visits, or companionship throughout the day, as well as plenty of attention before and after work hours. I prioritise safety, trust, and a calm environment in every pet care situation. In my home, I ensure dogs have a secure, comfortable space with access to water, toys, and a quiet area to rest. When caring for pets in their own home, I follow the owner’s routines and instructions closely, maintaining a familiar environment and minimising stress for the dog. My goal is always to create a loving, predictable, and safe experience tailored to each pet’s needs.

About: I have my own cat, so I understand how much love, patience and care they need. I know every cat has their own personality and routine, and I’ll take the time to make them feel comfortable, safe and cared for. I’ll provide gentle attention, feeding, playtime and lots of kindness while you’re away.

“I would 100% recommend Ionela to look after your pet whilst you’re away! She treated my cat like she was her own, I had multiple messages and pictures throughout the day on how my cat was doing which was a nice gesture and comforting especially if it’s your first time leaving them like mine was. My cat really enjoyed her stay and I know she felt comfortable due to her reactions on the pictures/videos I received, Thankyou Ionela for all you done☺️”
About: Hi My Name is Jess, I’m 25. Had animals all my life. Currently got a dog myself. Dogs are my passion and I believe home from home is the best kind of care available 🐾 I am only just starting out offering help outside of friends and family so currently my availability is very open. Ask away if you can’t see the slot or time you need as I may be able to squeeze you in, I love to do anything I can to help. My house has safety gates throughout to section the house accordingly and to protect slipping out the front door. Safety is a key feature of trust ❤️

“Many thanks to Charlotte for looking after Archie and Ralph so well yesterday. They came back very chilled out and clearly well looked after during the day. We will have no hesitation in asking Charlotte to look after them again.”

About: We’re proud, happy owners of our mini dachshund, Daisy, who is 7 years old and truly part of our family. Before Daisy, we shared many wonderful years with our standard dachshund, Bella. When Bella sadly passed away, we felt a huge hole in our hearts and in our home—bringing Daisy into our lives helped heal that space and reminded us just how special the bond with a dog can be. Because dogs are family to us, not just pets, we treat every dog in our care with the same love, respect, and attention we give our own. Daisy goes everywhere with us, and our lifestyle naturally revolves around being dog-friendly—walks, outings, routines, and home life are all designed with dogs in mind. Our experience includes: Caring for dogs of all ages, from playful puppies to senior dogs Understanding breed-specific needs, especially dachshunds Providing calm support for anxious or sensitive dogs Creating a true “home away from home” environment We don’t just watch dogs—we welcome them into our family while you’re away. Pet care is a natural part of our everyday life—it’s built into our routine, not something we squeeze in around other priorities. We’re a family of three dog lovers—two adults and our 17-year-old son—and our days already revolve around our own dog, Daisy. I’ve just completed my bachelor’s degree and am now pursuing my master’s online, which means I’m home most of the time and able to give dogs constant attention, supervision, and care. Because someone is always home: Dogs are never left alone Walks, playtime, feeding, and cuddles happen on a steady, relaxed schedule Anxious dogs get calm companionship and reassurance Our home is quiet, stable, and dog-focused. Pet care isn’t a side task for us—it’s part of how we live every day. When pets stay in our home, they become part of our family routine. We focus on keeping their days calm, happy, and as close as possible to what they’re used to at home. Our house has a large, secure garden that dogs can access throughout the day for fresh air, play, and toilet breaks. Whether they love running around, sunbathing, or just sniffing everything in sight, they have plenty of space to enjoy safely. We also live just a few minutes’ walk from the Burton riverside, which is perfect for relaxed walks, longer adventures, and letting dogs explore new sights and smells in a safe, natural setting. Daily care includes: Regular feeding based on your dog’s normal schedule Plenty of outdoor time in our garden Walks suited to your dog’s age, energy, and health Playtime Quiet rest time and lots of affection If caring for a dog in their own home, we follow their usual routine as closely as possible—same feeding times, walk routes, rules, and habits—so they feel secure and comfortable while you’re away.
“Johnny is a great dog carer. My puppy and Johnny's dog made friends instantly during initial meet and greet and it was obvious then she'll be well looked after. When I left my dog for a day care she got plenty of walk time, Johnny sent many photos and when I picked her up she was happy and relaxed. I will definitely use Johnny again.”

“Josie is absolutely incredible with my two boys! She sends plenty of updates and pictures, and they have an amazing time with her and Sadie! I always know I can relax when Josie is taking care of my dogs, because I know they're in the best hands!”

“Took care of my boy for a day, provided pictures and communicated well with pictures provided during the stay. Cara did an amazing job of settling Ein in and he was so sad to leave. Highly recommend.”

“1st Time using the Rover app for our 6 month old Labrador puppy, decided we would book on with someone who had there own dogs and lots of 5 star reviews. After researching other reviews we picked Charlotte for a couple of reasons she had her own Labrador's and every review was positive. Dropped her off at 9.15 and immediately felt comfortable we had made the correct choice, she was excited to be there and off they went like they were best friends. Charlotte updated us during the day saying she was fine and how well mannered she was with her dogs. Picked her up a 5.30, she came home tired which in my eyes means she had a good day. Would highly recommend Charlotte and be confident your dog will be well looked after in her hands.”

“1st time booking: Ozzy stayed with Janny today - he’s come home happy and looking like he’s been thoroughly entertained. Booking was flexible, easy and quick. 5 ⭐️ fully recommended!”

“Cathryn and her family were great with Lola. Looked after her at really short notice and she clearly had a great day being walked and getting lots of cuddles. Would highly recommend!”

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. There’s nothing better than seeing a dog relax, feel at home and enjoy themselves while their owners are away. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone else, so I treat every dog as if they were one of my own. I’ve been around dogs for many years and understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pet. I have always had 1 or 2 dogs in my life since I was born. Currently my partner Angela and I, and our teenage sons (15 and 17) have our own friendly 3 year old Labrador, Bailey. As a family, we provide a calm, loving home where dogs are treated like one of our own. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs, so I’ll always take the time to get to know them and follow their normal schedule as closely as possible. Whether they enjoy long walks, shorter strolls, lots of play or simply relaxing with company, I’m happy to adapt to what makes them happiest. I complete a few hours of administrative work from home each morning, which means I’m around throughout the day to give your dog plenty of attention, care and companionship. Before caring for dogs, I worked as a manager in children’s homes, supporting children with a wide range of needs and personalities. That experience taught me to stay calm, patient and confident in any situation—qualities that are just as valuable when caring for dogs. Every dog is different, and I enjoy getting to know their individual personalities, recognising what makes them feel safe and happy, and adapting my approach Looking after dogs isn’t just something I fit around my day—it’s something I genuinely love. There’s nothing better than seeing a dog arrive, gradually settle in, enjoy their walks and playtime, then curl up for a peaceful nap knowing they feel relaxed, safe and at home. We have a secure, fully fenced garden where your dog will have regular access for toilet breaks, fresh air and play throughout the day. Our friendly, neutered Labrador, Bailey, enjoys two walks each day, and we’re happy to tailor walks to match your dog’s usual routine, age and energy levels. Where appropriate, we may also visit a secure enclosed dog field, giving dogs the chance to safely burn off extra energy and enjoy some freedom off lead. We’ll always discuss this with you beforehand and make sure your dog is comfortable travelling in the car before any trips. To keep dogs happy and entertained, we provide plenty of toys, enrichment activities and even a dog paddling pool for warmer days. We also have a large crate available for dogs who are crate trained, so there’s no need to bring your own. If your dog doesn’t use a crate, we’ll simply follow their normal routine, ensuring they feel comfortable, settled and right at home from the moment they arrive. Your dog’s safety and wellbeing are my highest priorities. I know how important it is to leave your pet with someone you trust, so I’ll care for them as if they were one of my own. Our home has a secure, fully fenced garden where dogs can safely play and explore under supervision. Inside, they’ll have a comfortable, relaxed family environment with plenty of company, affection and opportunities to rest. Before every stay, I’ll take the time to get to know your dog’s routine, personality and any specific needs, including feeding, medication, exercise and sleeping arrangements. I’ll follow their usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel settled and at home. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can enjoy your time away knowing your dog is safe, happy and well cared for.

“Highly recommend Phoebe. This was my first time leaving Toby in somebody else's hands so I was abit nervous at first, but she updated me along the way as he spent the full day with her and her 2 pooches. Really lovely and down to earth aswell, will definitely be booking again in the future, no complaints whatsoever - thank you so much!”

“Absolutely amazing! Molly took care of my little diva for a daycare and she had an absolute fun! Even met Molly’s daughters. Molly sent updates and was absolutely responsive and sent a video in her massive garden - plenty for my lil fluff ball to run around especially with her energy levels being on the roof after the long drive. Molly was accommodating when we came in. Showed us the space bella can roam around. Definitely recommend booking her. I’ll be using her services again in the future! Thanks molly! Xx”

“Kimberley looked after Dexter for a week while we were on holiday. She sent us updates every day and Dexter looked so comfortable in his surroundings, unlike when he has previously been to kennels. He got on really well with Bear, Kim’s dog and has returned home a happy doggy! We would definitely have him spend his holidays with Kimberley and Bear again 😁🐶”

About: I’ve always loved caring for dogs and have experience looking after my own dog as well as regularly caring for family / friends dogs. I’ve also had the opportunity to look after a dog through Rover, which gave me experience caring for someone else’s pet and making sure they felt safe, happy and comfortable. I’m reliable, caring and attentive, and I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs. I’ll always make sure your dog gets plenty of attention, care and affection while they’re with me. I work full time but I’m working from home 2 days in the week and I’m availability in the evenings. I have full availability on weekends and can offer overnight boarding. I have a large fenced garden for your dog to run around and have plenty of space. It is also a smoke free home / child free and I do not currently have any other pets

“Molly and her family did a wonderful job looking after our Rocky, daily updates on how he’s doing with photos and videos were all received with pure joy. Will continue to use molly in the future for all of Rocky’s future staycations”

“Had a great time. Lots of walks, and relaxed and patient with our dog. Had photos, lots of play time, I would recommend. We have a spaniel, they give a lot of love, and like to receive it too! Lovely and hospitable, made me feel comfortable to leave our dog 🐕”

About: Welcome to The Home and The Hound - luxury, home-from-home dog boarding in a warm family environment. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something that comes very naturally to me. Over the years, I’ve gained lots of hands-on experience with pets of different breeds, ages, temperaments and needs, including through fostering for local charities. Growing up I have always had family pets - both cats and dogs and until a couple of years ago, had our own lovely dog, Bella. All this has given me valuable experience with everything from playful, energetic pups to more nervous dogs who need extra patience, reassurance and a gentle approach. I understand how important it is to feel completely confident when leaving your dog in someone else’s care… My aim is to provide a calm, loving and reliable home where your dog will be treated like one of the family, with plenty of comfort, affection, playtime, countryside walks and one-to-one attention. Every dog is different, so I always take the time to understand their usual routine, personality, likes, dislikes and any special requirements. Whether your dog loves cuddles on the sofa, quiet companionship, enrichment games or long walks, I’ll do my best to make sure they feel safe, settled and truly at home. Your house rules are our house rules when your pet stays with us. I’m so excited to welcome your pup into our family home. My priority is always to make sure both dogs and owners feel happy, reassured and well cared for from the moment they arrive until the moment they go home. I work from home in Swadlincote, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine and I’m around throughout the day to give dogs plenty of company, attention and reassurance. Dogs staying with us will be part of our normal family home life, with time for walks, garden breaks, play, rest and cuddles. Whilst I will always remain the sole carer looking after your pets while they stay with us, my husband is a Head of Year at a local secondary school, so during school holidays - often peak boarding times - there is even more time, attention and hands-on help at home. Our two children, who are very ‘pet savvy’ through the experience of us fostering pets for several local charities over the years, also enjoy being part of our gentle, dog-loving family environment. I aim to offer two walks a day of between 20 & 60 minutes, depending on your dog’s usual routine, age, energy levels and preferences. We also love visiting secure dog fields for safe, enriching walks and playtime. Meals times will follow your home routine and requests. Your house rules are our house rules when your pet stays with us I offer a safe, calm and loving home-from-home environment with no pets of my own. For this year, I’ll only be boarding one dog, or one household of dogs, at a time, so your dog will receive dedicated one-to-one care and personalised attention throughout their stay. Dogs will always be supervised when using our fully secure, fenced garden, and I will follow your guidance closely around feeding, walks, sleeping arrangements, routines, training cues and any special requirements. I understand how important it is to feel reassured when leaving your dog, so I’ll do everything I can to help them feel safe, settled and loved. Your dog will be welcomed into our family home and cared for with patience, kindness and consistency, just as I would want for my own, and you will be provided with regular photo and video updates throughout their stay with us.
