“The most professional cat sitter we ever had! She followed our instructions, was very friendly with our little boy and went above and beyond! We really enjoyed our time away without stressing about home or if the cat was okay in our absence. Thank you for your passion. 💕💐”

“Bonnie loves when Imogen comes round to visit her and play with her while we are at work. Always keeping us updated with what they did and how Bonnie is❤️ Couldn’t recommend enough, your fur babies will be most definitely looked after in the hands of Imogen 🐶”

“We’re grateful to Cathryn for helping out with our cats while we were away. Communication was clear, and everything seemed fine when we returned. However, we did notice the visit lasted around 20 minutes rather than the full 30 minutes we had agreed and paid for, which we would have appreciated being respected. Additionally, we weren’t sure if our full feeding instructions were followed, as we couldn’t find any dry food left out, which made us wonder if the cats only received their wet food. We always aim to give honest feedback to help sitters improve, and we hope this helps for future visits.”

About: From the moment I got my Dobermann, Mila, in December 2021, I was completely hooked on dogs. Their unique personalities, their boundless energy, and their unconditional love quickly turned me from a dog lover to dog obsessed! When Mila sadly and unexpectedly passed in 2024, I knew I needed to honour her by dedicating more of my life to dogs - especially those still waiting to feel the love she gave me. That’s when I began volunteering at Just for Dogs, a local rescue. For the past year, I’ve spent every Saturday and Sunday walking rescue dogs, giving them much needed human interaction, and helping them build confidence. Even more rewarding has been opening my home to foster some of these dogs - providing them with a safe, loving space where they can adjust to home life and prepare for their forever families. From nervous to confident, tiny to huge, cuddle bugs to playful adventurers, it’s been an honour to play a small role in their journey to happiness. With this experience, I feel confident in offering the very best care for your dog - tailored to their unique needs and personality. Whether it’s long walks, sofa cuddles, playtime, or simply being a calm companion, I’ll make sure your pup feels safe, happy, and loved. I work full-time Monday to Friday, but my flexible hours and ability to work from home mean I can easily fit pet care into my daily routine. This allows me to provide dog walks, drop-in visits, or companionship throughout the day, as well as plenty of attention before and after work hours. I prioritise safety, trust, and a calm environment in every pet care situation. In my home, I ensure dogs have a secure, comfortable space with access to water, toys, and a quiet area to rest. When caring for pets in their own home, I follow the owner’s routines and instructions closely, maintaining a familiar environment and minimising stress for the dog. My goal is always to create a loving, predictable, and safe experience tailored to each pet’s needs.
About: I’ve grown up around lots of dogs. My dads always had between two and six so as kid walking 3 white German shepards at a time was a good start. I’ve cared for 3 dogs the last two years walking them everyday, one being elderly and needing extra care. Whenever I’m out or round a friends house if there’s a dog I will be playing with it. I’ve been told and feel I have an affinity with dogs so making this a bigger part of my life would be a dream. Nearly 4 years ago I sold my place to move into a van this has allowed to follow my passion, dogs. I can’t tell you how lucky I feel when I’m out with a dog I get on well with. I feel I can communicate with dogs as many have told me I’m their best friend. Now summer is here I play cricket so Saturday day I will be unavailable. I’ve taken care of a wide range of dogs and understand their different needs. I’ve sat for an XL Bully to my dad’s six King Charles Spaniels. One of the dogs I walk I take for longer than I should but the dog needs it so she gets it. I speak to all dogs and feel that they understand the intent behind your words. I have lots of free time and I’m very punctual.

“Abbie was trustworthy reliable and very informative. My cats were happy to see her when she popped round. They were kept happy healthy and fussed. I would highly recommend her for your pet care! Will definitely be calling upon her again in the future! Thank you!”

About: I have years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and puppies of all ages, breeds, and personalities. I provide safe walks, fun playtime, feeding, cuddles, and reliable, loving care tailored to each pet’s unique needs. I currently work shifts, which means my availability can be flexible. On early shifts I am free most afternoons and evenings, and on late shifts I am available most mornings and early afternoons. This allows me to fit in plenty of time for walks, drop-ins, and giving each pet the attention they deserve. In my home, dogs are treated like part of the family. They always have access to fresh water, comfy spaces to rest, and plenty of supervised playtime. I follow each owner’s routine closely, including feeding times, walks, and any special requirements. Safety comes first, so dogs are never left unattended for long periods. Most importantly, I give them love, cuddles, and attention to make them feel safe and happy.
“Ela was so efficient. I needed someone in such short notice as I'm very anxious about leaving little Fraya for long periods. But Ela was very responsive. She was great with communication, sent beautiful pictures and Fraya seemed so happy and comfortable. Ela sent a video of the locked door and made sure I knew everything was back as it was. I was very happy with all aspects of the service Ela provided and I'm sure little Fraya was too. Thanks Ela!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
