Hannah did a great job of looking after both our cats and we will definitely reach out again when we are next going away! Really great communication throughout and sent lots of pictures and updates. Both cats were big fans of her - thank you Hannah!

Can't thank you enough for looking after Murphy. The updates through out the day were fantastic and Murphy had a brilliant day. You put us at ease and it was so reassuring knowing the experience you have with dogs meant you knew our pup inside and out after your first introduction, how well looked after Murphy was we couldn't have asked for more. Loved the snuffle box tops, they worked brilliantly and really helped with the crate training. Can already see the improvement and that there is less anxiety with Murphy over being left and being in her crate. Perfect 💚

About: I’ve always had dogs and have plenty of experience caring for my own dogs, as well as looking after dogs for family and friends. I absolutely love spending time with dogs, especially taking them on walks and making sure they get plenty of exercise, attention and cuddles. I’m comfortable around all breeds and love getting to know each dog’s individual personality.” 🐾 My typical day is centred around plenty of fresh air, walks and lots of love and attention. I also work from home, so I’ll always be around to give your dog company and make sure they’re happy and comfortable. I enjoy getting out for walks and will tailor them to suit each dog’s needs, as well as making time for play, cuddles and plenty of relaxing. I’ll also make sure to stick to their usual routine as much as possible. I have a lovely home with a secure, fully fenced garden, giving dogs a safe space to enjoy some fresh air and play. They’ll have access to all areas of the home and won’t be restricted to just one room. As I work from home, I’ll also be around for plenty of company, attention and cuddles throughout the day.

About: After working as a nurse for over 30 years I have moved somewhere semi rural, next to the canal and open fields. I have kept animals all my life, dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters and fish. Not working means I home all the time with my three small very friendly daft dogs and two cats. I have a certificate in animal first aid and would be vigilant on welfare of animals in my care. I can call in to feed pets, clean litter trays, water plants, open and shut curtains etc. I will send photos and videos of your fur baby during the day, just to reassure you they are having a purrfect day 💕 I am retired now so apart from walking my own dogs, I am fully available for looking after your pet. I can visit more than once per day if required. I absolutely cherish my pets. Your pets will be treated with the same level of care as I treat my own. I have a first aid certificate in animal care and would always contact you or seek medical attention if I had any concerns about your pet.

Carl is a fantastic care giver for your pets. Taking care of the basic need of your pets while you’re away isn’t enough. He goes above and beyond making sure their environment is clean and they feel emotionally loved and comforted even at great inconvenience to himself. I cannot credit Carl enough for the peace of mind he gave my family and me while caring for our pets while we were away. Thank you Carl.

Nicola was brilliant with Sherlock. I received daily photographs and updates of Sherlocks time with Nicola. Nicola played with him, gave him plenty of fuss and made sure he had everything he needed. She even got rid of a couple of matts out of his fur. I came back from holiday to a happy and contented kitty. Thanks Nicola! Sherlock would love to see you again

About: I’ve always grown up with pets in the household and I’m now lucky enough to be the proud owner of Betty, my 2 year old Cocker Spaniel and Coba my 6 year old male Bengal. Both are great with other animals as they’ve grown up around them. I believe pets should be treated as part of the family so I will look after them like they’re my own and am happy for them to cuddle up on the sofa with me. I also live near fields and woodlands which is great for dog walks. I am currently on maternity leave, meaning I am at home full time so can be very flexible with bookings and am available evenings and weekends. I have a fenced garden and two friendly pets of my own for your fur baby to play/cuddle up with. I also live walking distance from parks, fields and woodlands that are great for dog walks. I live in a 3 bedroom house so plenty of room for boarding and doggy day care and I have a spare crate that can be used if needed as my own puppy is crate trained.

Michelle provided four drop-ins over 2 days for our 2 greyhounds - they absolutely loved her! She's very confident with the dogs, gave them lots of fuss, and made sure they had toilet breaks, water and a bit of play time. She was generous with her time, always made sure we knew when she was arriving / leaving the house, and kept us updated with lots of pictures! Thank you Michelle, we would love to have you help us with the boys again in the future!

About: Hi, I'm Tom. I'm a reliable animal lover and pet owner with two cats of my own, so I understand how important it is to know your pets are safe, happy and well cared for while you're away. I've grown up around animals all my life. Myself and my wife currently have two cats, Milo and Sven, and I have experience caring for my family and friend's dogs and cats over the years, giving me experience with pets of different personalities, routines and needs. I offer home visits for cats, dogs and small pets, including feeding, fresh water, litter tray scooping, companionship, playtime and regular photo updates so you can enjoy your time away with peace of mind. Outside of pet care, I work a flexible professional job, so reliability, responsibility and attention to detail are a big part of who I am. I'll always treat your home and pets with the same care and respect that I would expect for my own. Whether you're away for a weekend, on holiday or simply need someone to check in on your pets, I'd be delighted to help. I work full-time during weekdays, but am often flexible. My availability is primarily early mornings, lunch visits, and selected evenings. Weekend availability is limited and will depend on my family commitments. I'm best suited to pet feeding visits, welfare checks and holiday care for cats, dogs and small pets. Please feel free to get in touch and I'll do my best to accommodate your requirements. I understand that trusting someone with your pets and home is a big decision. During every visit, I will follow your pet's normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, fresh water, litter tray scooping, playtime and companionship. I will always treat your home with respect and ensure it is left secure when I leave. I am happy to provide regular updates and photos during each visit so you can have peace of mind while you're away. As a pet owner myself, I know that every animal is different. I take the time to understand their individual needs, personality and routine to help them feel comfortable and cared for in their own environment.

About: I have been looking after pets since I was a teenager. Me and my partner used to housesit all over the world. This enabled us to travel while also exploring a culture as if we lived there. I also provided dog walking around my local neighbourhood as I love walking and it's always nice to have a little friend to walk with. I work online as a singing teacher, so can be flexible when it comes to pet care. This job enables me to have flexibility within my day. When popping in or housesitting,I always make sure that I leave the house exactly how I left it and make sure to clean up any mess if any that has been made by muddy paws

About: From since I can remember my family have had pets… dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, snakes, lizards I even considered the hedgehogs that would show up at the back door at night pets! My mom is a dog groomer and we get pets to the family house all the time. I help her with grooming and soothing the dogs if they need. I will be looking after the pets on my own as my family live in Birmingham! I am employed but luckily with my job it also gives me some flexibility. I have plenty of free time at the moment to care and play with your babies! Your pets will be kept warm, safe & exercised at home with me. I can stick to your training regime if you have one and let me know what they are!

About: I’ve looked after family members’ dogs and puppies of all different ages and energy levels, from bouncy kids to more relaxed older dogs. This has given me experience in adjusting to each dog’s needs — whether that’s lots of playtime and walks, or a gentler approach with plenty of cuddles. I also regularly help with grooming, such as brushing and bathing, to keep dogs happy, comfortable, and clean. I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality and making sure they feel well cared for as if their my own :) I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of free time to dedicate to pet care. This flexibility means I can easily fit in regular walks, play sessions, and feeding times around my schedule.Walking dogs or visiting cats fits naturally into my day. Whether it’s morning, afternoon, or evening, I can make sure your pets get the attention and care they deserve🩷 Your pet’s safety and happiness are always my top priorities. I follow any routines and instructions carefully, making sure your pets feel secure and comfortable while you’re away. On walks, I always keep dogs on-lead (unless you’ve given permission otherwise) and stay alert to their surroundings. I’m also patient and gentle with shy or nervous pets, giving them time and space to settle in🩷

Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
