“It was the first time we’d left Charlie overnight and were understandably nervous. However, on meeting Monika our minds were put at rest immediately. Charlie had a lovely time playing with the other dogs and seemed very contented when we picked him up. We would not hesitate to leave Charlie with Monika again.”

“This is the 2nd time Jasmine has stayed with Jun. She can be cautious but on arrival she didn’t look back and went straight in. Think she was very spoilt lots of photos of all her lovely walks. Very happy we were delayed on our journey home and Jun was very accommodating. Would rebook highly recommended.”

“Very pleased with the service, our dog was treated like a family member. Cat regularly provided lots and lots of pictures and updates and was very attentive towards our Minnie, we will definitely be returning to her.”

“Hio Man T took excellent care of our two dogs. We were sent pictures and videos on occasion. Our dogs came home tired and happy, which gives us every indication that they were well cared for while we were on holiday. It was a nice bonus that Hio Man was able to pick up and drop off our pups. We will definitely use this sitter again!!”

“Dee clearly loves dogs and she was very good with ours. He was excited to see her and Sid again after our meet and greet. Dee took measures to keep him safe in the hot weather. Nothing was too much trouble and I would thoroughly recommend her- I will certainly be booking her again.”

“Charley is a god send!! What a wonderful person, and dog sitter. I would always use Charley going forward as I have complete trust in him and my dog was so happy going back! Great communication and experience!”

“Just picked up my Yorkshire Terrier and I am so pleased with Paisley, he’s a rescue dog so I didn’t want him to feel overwhelmed, I was sent daily pics and messages about how he was doing. I would definitely use again. x”

“Sue was absolutely pawsome with our Siberian Husky, Koda! 🐾 From the moment we dropped him off, we knew he was in the best hands. She sent regular updates and adorable photos—Koda being cuddled, spoiled, walked, and basically living his best life. It was like he went on a little holiday of his own! Honestly, his stay was a solid 10/10 (Koda may or may not have asked to move in permanently). We’ve already booked again for October for our daughter’s wedding—because let’s be honest, Sue is now officially part of the family. Thank you, Sue, for loving our fluffy boy like your own! ❤️”

“I was initially hesitant to hire a dog sitter through Rover, but Leanne exceeded all my expectations. She took wonderful care of my dog, Zoey, while I was on holiday, ensuring she was happy and well-looked after. Leanne kept me updated throughout the stay, sending regular updates and photos, which greatly eased my concerns. When I returned, Zoey was in great spirits and clearly well cared for. I couldn't be more pleased with Leanne's service and would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. Thank you 😊”

Teddy has had the loveliest little sleepover with Monica 🐾❤️ He couldn’t have asked for better care or more cuddles! It’s so lovely knowing he’s been loved, spoilt and looked after so well while he’s been away. Thank you so much, Monica, for making his sleepover so special 🥰🐶💕

We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter/boarder for our cocker spaniel. She literally went above and beyond from taking her for super long adventures to making sure she was comfortable at all time and providing her favourite treats. Thank you so much - we would highly recommend and have already booked a second date in with Emma 🫶🏻

★★★★★ We couldn’t have asked for a better person to look after our Siberian Husky Koda! Libby was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She walked him loads, played with him constantly, brushed him, and even got involved in his favourite games like tug — he was clearly having the time of his life. She showed him so much love and care, even embracing his big fluffy (and very hairy!) coat without hesitation. He was treated like part of the family — even being fed steak and getting plenty of tickles, which he absolutely loved. What really stood out was the regular updates. We received lots of photos and videos every day, which gave us complete peace of mind and let us see just how happy he was. Thank you so much, Libby — he had the best time with you. 5 stars all the way, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again! 💙🐶🐾 x

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
