“Phil and Archie took great care of my dachshund dash whilst I was away for the weekend . Speedy responses when communicating and always keeping me updated on how dash was doing during his stay. Do not hesitate when thinking of booking Phil and Archie as these two kept dash busy all weekend showing him love and care throughout his stay and taking him out on long walks and keeping him stimulated. I can’t thank them both enough for the love and care they gave dash and looking after him like he’s there own.”

“Hio man took such good care of our dogs! We had regular updates and they were so relaxed and happy after their stay. We will definitely use Hio man again and would recommend friends and family! Thank you so much ❤️”

“No amount of words can put into perspective the appreciation and how happy we are with how Michelle and Jase look after Besty, it’s so nice to be away and not have any concerns or worries about her as I know she’s been pampered and getting all the fuss and cuddles she wants with them 🥰 as soon as we start to plan holidays for next year we’ll be booking Betsy straight back in, I wouldn’t leave her with anyone else. Thank you so much!! Xxx”

About: We are a dog-loving family with plenty of experience caring for pets. We had a much-loved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel for 9 wonderful years and, although we sadly lost him a few years ago, we haven’t felt ready to replace him. Instead, we’ve loved welcoming friends’ and family members’ dogs into our home and treating them like part of the family. Our children absolutely adore dogs and are used to helping with feeding, playing, cuddles, and making sure every dog feels safe, happy, and loved. Dogs staying with us receive lots of attention, affection, and companionship. I also love walking, so your dog will enjoy regular exercise, fresh air, and plenty of care. We can care for dogs during the week and are happy for them to spend short periods alone if they are comfortable doing so, with access to a large, safe kitchen space. We’re available to spend quality time with your dog every day before 9am and after 3pm, as well as weekends and school holidays. We work from home time to time so will be there to keep your pup company. We also have a large, fully fenced garden, perfect for playing, exploring, or simply relaxing in the sunshine. Your pup must enjoy being around children. Between me and my husband someone is usually home whether working from home or being here with the children. They’ll be plenty of playtime and walks which can be both morning and evening. We have a fenced garden which is suitable for your dog to play and run around in. If you have a crate to bring we have space, if not they can happily sleep in the basket downstairs .
“The thought of leaving Leia in kennels whilst we had a much needed holiday was something we could not do, she is so precious and we know she would have been so confused and unhappy. However we found a website Rover.com and thankfully we found a home for her. After contacting Rover we were able to choose from different dog lovers who are willing to .look after a pet. We certainly found a wonderful home and owner who love animals. While texting we came along to introduce Leia to their home, They were so kind and loved Leia, and Leia spent a couple of hours with them, and so it was arranged fir her to spend 2 weeks at their lovely home. During our holiday Dominika sent reports of how Leia was doing, and constant beautiful photos and videos. We have no hesitation to say that Dominika and her husband looked after Leia and fell in love with her. Now Leia is back home, Dominika texted to see if Leia was settled , in fact we are now friends and intend to keep in touch.”

“Max came home relaxed and tired. Megan and her partner were lovely with Max, took him on serveral walks, and gave me regular updates with photos and videos. I’d absolutely love for her to look after him again”

“Megan and her family were absolutely incredible with our puppy Luna! She treated her like her own dog... She went above and beyond to keep us updated on how she was during her stay and i never once had any concerns! Would highly recommend Megan for anyone in need of a pet sitter!!!”

“Loki has had an amazing holiday with Jas. Very friendly sitter. Plenty of updates throughout our holiday. Was definitely a home from home stay. Loki was very happy from the moment he arrived. Definitely will use Jas again for my baby. Thanks again Jas from one very happy doggy owner.”

“Christine looked after our little lady Lucy while we were away over the early May bank holiday. To say she got a holiday of her own doesn’t quite cover the fund she had. Lucy took to her really well and I got regular pupdates so I was safe in the knowledge that she was happy, exercised and having the best time ever!!! She’s already booked in again soon. Thank you Chris”

“Just picked up my Yorkshire Terrier and I am so pleased with Paisley, he’s a rescue dog so I didn’t want him to feel overwhelmed, I was sent daily pics and messages about how he was doing. I would definitely use again. x”

“Nola loved her stay with Helen. She went on lots of walks and was well looked after. Helen kept in touch all the time we were away with photos of Nola - we have already booked to reuse Helen again.”

“Mischa loved his stay with Matt and we would have no hesitation in using them again. They coped very well with our mischievous spaniel who is now back home missing his little friend Beau. They kept us updated with photos and were very obliging when our plans changed.”

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
