“Seb literally pulled us to Tahra's door and cried when it didn't open quick enough. Safe to say Seb adores Tahra. Will always recommend. So relieved to have found somewhere we can leave Seb longer than a night and not worry. Thanks so much Tahra!”

“Hannah is a great sitter. Putting our anxious minds at rest with her total commitment and attention to detail. Bella was made very welcome and part of her family for the week. I would highly recommend and most definately I will be using again.”

“Finn had a wonderful three days with Natasha and her lovely family. He looked so happy on the photos that Natasha sent us. He snuggled down to watch TV, played with toys went to the park and had the best holiday. Finn is 10 years of age and had never been left overnight anywhere before. I can't thank and praise Natasha enough. He has been so well looked after and was clearly so happy with her. We have already made another booking. Thank you 😊”

“Could not have asked for a better place for our dog. We have a Belgian malinious mix, large and energetic - and so was hesitant to how he would be whilst we were away… but Steven and the family gave our dog a great home for over 7 days whilst we were away. Keeping us up to date with walks, and pictures - and even bought a dog toy to keep our dog engaged. Would recommend.”

About: A loving, patient and experienced home-from-home for dogs and cats. I’m a huge animal lover with a real soft spot for both dogs and cats. I appreciate everything about them — their little personalities, their quirks, their loyalty, their independence, and the joy they bring into a home. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to care for and spend time with many animals, both at home and during my travels. My profile includes photos of some of the wonderful dogs and cats I’ve looked after or met along the way, as well as testimonials from people who have trusted me with their much-loved pets. During my time working overseas, I worked closely with local animal shelters in my spare time, helping to care for and rehabilitate some of the most vulnerable dogs. That experience taught me the importance of patience, trust, gentle reassurance and understanding that every animal needs to feel safe in their own time. I know that no two pets are the same. Some dogs need playful energy, long walks and adventure, while others need calm reassurance, patience and a softer approach. Some cats love attention and company, while others prefer space, quiet and time to settle. I will always take the time to understand your pet’s routine, personality and comfort levels so they feel safe, happy and cared for. I currently live in a child and pet-free home due to regular travel for work, so I’m really looking forward to welcoming animals back into my home and giving them the love, attention and comfort they deserve. Whether your pet needs a walk, day care, an overnight stay or a longer visit, I will treat them as if they were my own. Your pet’s happiness, safety and routine will always be my priority, and I’ll do everything I can to make sure they feel relaxed, loved and completely at home. I work from home on Weekdays and will be available various Weekends also. Please ask me any questions you have. I know your pet is super important to you so having your mind at ease whilst they are here is super important to me. My home is currently child-free and pet-free, offering a calm and relaxed environment where your pet can feel safe and settled. I also have a fenced garden, giving dogs a secure outdoor space to play, stretch their legs or enjoy some fresh air. Whether your pet is full of energy and loves playtime, or prefers a quiet, cosy space to rest, I can adapt to what makes them feel happiest. I’ll give them attention, affection and reassurance when they need it, while also respecting when they may need a little space and quiet time.
“Slinky had his first sleep over with Nicky and her family last night. I was updated throughout the time he was there, and could tell he was having a great time (pretty sure Nicky’s dogs will be pleased of the peace and quiet now he’s gone) Thank you so much x”

“Oksana did a lovely job taking care of Holly for me. I could tell from her photo updates Holly was looking very happy and relaxed. Oksana was great in communications and even told me not to worry and to drive safe when I was 35 mins late picking Holly up (due to being stuck behind an accident in traffic). I really appreciate your help - thank you!”

“Federica and her family are such lovely people and made Chester feel fully welcome in their home and part of the family for his stay , Federica provided photos and updates which was most welcome. I would definitely recommend Federica to anyone , thank you so much 🥰🐶🐾xx”

“What can I say Sylwia was brilliant. I was nervous about boarding Bella as I haven't needed to board her previously. After searching different boarding websites I came across Rover and selected Sylwia based on previous feedback. Sylwia was quick to respond to my boarding needs and arranged a face to face meeting before the boarding date. Bella had a great time with Sywia and other dogs, lots of walks picture updates and always responded fast to any questions I had regarding Bella. Sywia is a lovely person who you can tell really cares about the dogs she looks after. When I use this service again I would love to board when needed Bella with Sywia.”

“Dan is a great dog sitter with warm heart. She is fantastic in communication and connection. My little dog was with Dan for a week and he came back to me with smile. Fully recommendable and will book again when needed.”

“We absolutely love leaving Harley with Emily, she adores him and he adores her, he has her wrapped around his paws, he always comes back a happy chappy 🥰🥰🥰, we get loads of updates and pictures daily and he is having the time of his life!”

“Iveta looked after Milo very well. She communicated daily on how he was doing and sent pictures which helped to reassure my daughters. I was worried he might not stay as she had a cat but Iveta has experience in slowly introducing them and it was ok. I will be using Iveta again.”

“Laura and Ben are great with our Dottie. She loves playing with Leo (and apparently bossing Oscar around) and comes back to us tired and happy (and little sad missing the boys). We feel confident and reassured she’s in good hands :)”

“First time using the site to house our lovely boy and couldn’t have chosen a better person for the job.. Jodie is so lovely and Casper was SO happy when we picked him up, I can tell he had the best time with her.. 10/10 would recommend Jodie to anyone who needs their furry friends looking after and we will definitely be booking him in with her again.. 👍🏼”

“Diana was amazing with Teddy!!! Teddy loved it so much I could barely get him to leave haha, and she kept me updated with pictures of him enjoying himself. Thank you so much.”

Emily is so confident with dogs and clearly loves them a lot. We couldn't have left our whippet Ralph with a better sitter. She made him at home, treated him like her own family member, took him for lovely walks with friends dogs, gave him loads of cuddles and attention, and plenty of down-time too. Her house is ideally set up to keep dogs safe, and this is clearly her priority. It was clear from the meet and greet that Emily is a natural dog person with loads of experience so we knew he was in good hands. Thanks so much Emily!! See you in August for R's next little holiday with you :)

Lauren and her partner were the perfect sitters. Great communication that made me feel 100% reassured that Bill was getting looked after and loved while I was away. He came back calm and relaxed (and knackered from playing with their dog). I would book with them again
We couldn't be happier with the care our dog Bella received. Glenda is reliable, friendly, and kept us updated with regular photos and messages throughout the stay. Bella was happy, well-exercised, and clearly comfortable in her care. It gave us great peace of mind knowing she was being looked after so well. We would definitely book again and highly recommend Glenda to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter.

Sarah is amazing, she has looked after Zeus on a number of occasions for us now and as soon as Zeus gets there he knows exactly where he is and walks in the house like he lives there 😊😊 Fantastic communication and always happy to adjust dates/times if needed. I really wouldn’t want to leave my boy anywhere else since meeting Sarah. Thank you for always treating him as your own. Xxx

Our Golden Retriever Nellie had a great time with Sandra while we took a week's holiday abroad. Sandra is very friendly and was always responsive to messages. She provided reassurance which gave us peace of mind while we were away. We would not hesitate to use Sandra again, thank you so much!

Paddy absolutely loved his stay with Rachel. She looked after him so well. Took him out late in the evening when it was a bit cooler and her son spent hours throwing balls for him. She kept us updated the whole time. We will 100% be using Rachel again for dog care for paddy and would highly recommend her!
Antonio and Patrycja looked after Missy really well, she settled down well and was taken lots of walks which she enjoyed with their two small Yorkies. Antonio sent me photos 3 times a day and I was comforted that she was being well looked after. They genuine dog lovers and I would hesitate to ask them to care for Missy again.

Lola & Ruby had a lovely time staying with Laine and her hubby. We received regular updates and photos and felt comfortable that our babies were being very well cared for whilst we were away. They came back to us happy, relaxed and in good condition. Thank you so much!

Absolute 5 star We were nervous about leaving the Pup as it was the first time we had been away from him, we had absolutely nothing to worry about With Ruchi as she provided a home away from home and the perfect environment, can’t recommend highly enough and not sure the Pup wants to come home, will definitely use again.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
