“Perfect sitters. This is the 2nd time Floki has stayed with hio man and we are very happy. Always keep us updated with photos and how he’s doing. We would not hesitate to send Floki back when we need to. Thank you both 💚”

“I booked my 2-year-old Cane Corso, Bruce, with Charlotte, and he stayed with her and her lovely family. As it was his first time away from home and he can be nervous in new places, I was initially worried. However, my worries quickly disappeared. Charlotte and her family are such warm, lovely people, and Bruce was very well cared for. The space is clean, tidy and spacious, and Charlotte kept me updated throughout his stay, which I really appreciated. A Key plus points for me is there are no other dogs, it’s one to one… When I collected Bruce, it was clear that he had settled in really well. It was lovely to see how comfortable and happy he was, and how warmly Charlotte’s family said goodbye to him. Exactly what I was hoping for my family dog went to a family home… I will definitely be booking with Charlotte again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone caring and trustworthy to look after their dog.”

“Leanne was amazing. It was our first time leaving our dog and she was always quick to communicate and give us updates which really put us at ease! Our dog came back so happy, would definitely recommend and pick Leanne again!”

“Couldn’t be happier! 🐾❤️ Justyna and Johaan looked after Luna for 7 days, and she absolutely loved her time with their family. She had plenty of walks, lots of playtime and, most importantly, loads of cuddles! 🥰🐶 It was so reassuring knowing she was being looked after by such a loving and caring family. I 💯% recommend Justyna and Johaan to anyone looking for someone to take care of their fur babies. I’ll definitely be using them again without a doubt! Thank you both for taking such amazing care of Luna ❤️🐾”

“Paulina and her family took great care of Cosy, we had never left her with people we didn’t know before. We were made to feel reassured Cosy was in great hands with daily updates and photos/videos. I would highly recommend Paulina and will definitely be using her again.”

“Bethany was absolutely brilliant with my very needy dog . Nothing was any trouble and bethany went over and above to reassure me with constant pictures and updates throughout his stay. Would highly recommend bethany. Very warm , caring and trustworthy”

“This was the first time I have left my fur babies, so I was a little anxious as you can imagine but Nichola was wonderful and looked after Teddy and Minnie so well. They were given lots of love and care. Nichola provided regular updates, photos and videos, which helped me relax and enjoy my holiday knowing that Teddy and Minnie were well taken care of. I would recommend Nichola to anyone seeking to have their precious fur babies looked after . Thank you Nichola for all you did for Teddy and Minnie x Big hugs from teddy and Minnie too ! 🐾🐾”

“Andy and Allison have been fantastic with our extremely bouncy Vizsla pup. He has been very well looked after and I’m sure that he will have a dose of the holiday blues after 10 days of fun at their house with the other dogs in his new found pack! They have taken him on daily walks specific to his current needs and have made him feel like a proper member of their household. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to other people who are looking for suitable sitters who provide proper home from home care for their dog. Thanks again 🙏”

“Excellent care was provided for my golden retriever and I am thoroughly happy. I received pictures through the day and could see that my dog was well cared for. Wai San is a kind and caring provider.”

“First time we left our dog with Leanne and her family but it all went smoothly. Monty was so well looked after and made a complete fuss of! Leanne updated us the whole time we were away which made us feel at ease and able to enjoy our holiday. We've already booked again for our next weekend away.”

“Sue, you are absolutely fantastic! We couldn’t ask for a better person to care for Koda, our Siberian Husky. You take such amazing care of him and treat him like one of your own. We especially love all the photos and updates you send — it gives us so much peace of mind and lets us see how happy and comfortable he is while we’re away. Koda always comes home relaxed and well cared for, which says everything about the love and attention you give him. We’re so grateful to have found you! Highly, highly recommend! 🐾💙”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter/boarder for our cocker spaniel. She literally went above and beyond from taking her for super long adventures to making sure she was comfortable at all time and providing her favourite treats. Luna had a great time with Andy, Alison and Bailey, and Obi before he went home. She had some lovely walks in the countryside and was very well cared for. It was great for her to spend time with another Vizsla and I’m sure Bailey didn’t mind the chasing and constant badgering to play! Unfortunately Luna ate something she shouldn’t and got a bad stomach during her stay. During this time she was well cared for and given pro-biotics to help her recover. We would certainly take Luna back to Andy and Alison and recommend their services to others.

Teddy has had the loveliest little sleepover with Monica 🐾❤️ He couldn’t have asked for better care or more cuddles! It’s so lovely knowing he’s been loved, spoilt and looked after so well while he’s been away. Thank you so much, Monica, for making his sleepover so special 🥰🐶💕

Marshall our dog was very happy with Katherine for a long stay of nearly 3 weeks. Katherine sent me photos and communicated well to let me know how he was settling. She always communicated quickly and let me know how he was during his stay. He came back a very happy dog and had really enjoyed his regular walks and lots of attention. I would definitely use Katherine again.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
