About: Animals have always been part of our lives — one of us grew up surrounded by cats, the other by dogs — so caring for pets feels completely natural to us. As teenagers, we were the neighbourhood dog walkers, trusted to handle everything from quick midday walks to long adventures with energetic pups. We’ve raised our own pets too, and we’ve both had to say goodbye to elderly companions who needed slower walks, gentle reassurance, and lots of love in their final years. Because we work from home (and I have summers free as a teacher), we can offer flexible walking times that fit your dog’s routine. We love getting to know each dog’s personality and making sure they feel comfortable and secure. Whether your dog wants a fast-paced outing, a steady confidence‑boosting stroll, or a calm sniff‑filled wander, we’ll make sure they feel happy and cared for every step of the way. We have loads of time for pet care during the day. One of us works from home, so there’s always someone around, and with me being a teacher, I get long holidays that make our schedule even more flexible. It means we can fit walks, playtime, and company around your pet’s routine without rushing. We’re in our mid‑20s with no pets or children, and we have plenty of daytime availability — one of us works from home and I have lots of holidays as a teacher. Our garden is a good size and fully secure, giving dogs a safe space alongside their walks.

About: I've taken care of animals all my life! Whether it's tiny newborns up to elderly pets. I've currently just finished my Level 3 Animal Management college course which has given me valuable insight into all animals ranging from farm animals all the way to exotic and aquatic animals. It's given me skills on Small animal rehabilitation, Training, Grooming and general health. I have all the certification to prove! I have applied to become a veterinary nurse at my chosen university and i'm awaiting my grades for this year! I have always wanted to become a veterinary nurse since i was a child as i am strongly passionate about animals and their general day to day care. A little bit about my life: I have had pets all my life including dogs, aquatic fish, guinea pigs and hamsters. This has given me a great understanding of the day to day care needed for your pets needs. I have also sat for neighbours, friends and family members when ever i am needed as i couldn't think of anything better than to take care of their furry friends :) I'm currently working part time fully flexible at my workplace, i usually get my rota 2/3 weeks in advance and can always book certain days off if needed to accommodate your furry friends! With this i can easily assist on days i am needed and will provide reliable and quick responses when necessary. When it comes to accompanying your furry friends i will always ask if they have a specific routines or any special/restricted dietary requirements as i know this is very important! Unfortunately i do not offer to bring your animals to my house as i have a cocker spaniel aged 2 who is very easily excitable and can be too much for other dogs! Therefore when looking after your animals whether it's a toilet break or lounging around for naps, they will always be in my eye sight to guarantee their safety.

Hannah provided consistent updates to us of him which was reassuring and eased our minds. We would definitely recommend Hannah and would love for her to help us out again in the future 😊”

About: I’ve had dogs since childhood and understand that they need security and love, along with exercise and great care. A warm happy household awaits your furry family member! I currently work from home and have easy access to the park across the road, where our dog goes for his daily walk. There are plenty of other longer walks available nearby, too. I have a large secure fenced garden, perfect for a doggy friend for Monty. Our dog Monty loves all other dogs, even nervous ones! and puts them at ease.

About: As a couple we would make excellent dog sitters because we both bring a mix of responsibility, patience, and a genuine love for animals. Whether it’s going on long walks, sticking to feeding schedules, or providing plenty of playtime and affection, we are committed to making dogs feel safe and cared for. As a team, we balance each other’s strengths, whether that be handling high-energy pups or creating a calm, comforting environment, we are dedicated to adapting to their needs. Furthermore, we understand that every dog has its own personality and we are both ready to treat them like part of the family. I am a 21 year old newly qualified nurse, who is currently working as a bank carer so i have a fairly flexible schedule and im willing to help as much as possible. Me and my partner are currently saving to go travelling and we are hoping to move away to australia to begin my nursing carer so all of this extra work is a contribution to this. To ensure an animal is cared for in its owner's home, I would closely follow all provided instructions, stick to the pet's usual routine, and create a calm, familiar environment. I’d also keep the space clean, give the pet plenty of attention, and stay in regular contact with the owner to provide updates and address any concerns.
“This is the second time Charlotte has come to drop in on my cats. She gives fab updates and she seems to genuinely care about them - I felt very settled knowing Charlotte was watching out for them whilst I was away. Thank you so much xx”

Nicola was great looking after my cat Hollie. She spent time to fuss her, feed her, and kept the area nice and clean. Hollie is quite shy but Nicola took the time to bond with her and this has made all the difference. I'd definitely recommend Nicola to anyone who wants a reliable and caring pet sitter. Thank you Nicola 🙂

Shirley was super punctual and reliable in looking after our cat Binky. She attempted every visit to bond and build trust with her and sent us detailed notes on how each visit went and how our cat was doing with it all. She made us feel very reassured that Binky was well attended to whilst we were away. Thankyou again Shirley!

Elenya is lovely. It's been so reassuring to have her check in and look after my cat while we've been away. She's proved to be really reliable, sending me updates and photos each time she's visited. I definitely recommend Elenya and if need be I will be happy to have her look after Mia again in the future.

Had a fantastic experience booking Alice. From the initial communication (very responsive) through meeting her (both our pets liked her instantly) to her looking after our pets for a number of days, she's been absolutely superb. She is very dilligent and goes above and beyond caring for our pets attending to their needs within their home environment. She was great at updating us, relaying info and folllowing any instructions or requests perfectly to support our pets whilst we were absent. We came home to waggy tails and loud purrs. We and our pets have been delighted to find such a professional and wonderful petsitter and would hire her again without hesitation for future bookings.

I am so happy I chose to work with Charlotte. She took really good care of my furbabies when I was away. Since, this was my first time working with a pet sitter, I was quite worried how it will turn out, but, she did a really good job. Definitely, will work with her again whenever I need help with my babies.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
