“Emma and her family did a drop in visit for my puppy and it was brilliant! I received a lovely postcard with pictures and a note on how he was! When I came home, the puppy was settled and seemed to have a great time! We also had a meet and greet on a short basis which made me feel better before the visit :)”

“Devon was absolutely brilliant with Kuda. He was reliable, calm, and clearly confident with dogs, which put me at ease straight away. Kuda was well cared for, happy, and relaxed during the visits, and communication throughout was great. I really appreciated the updates and the care shown — it’s clear Devon genuinely loves what he does. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive sitter.”

“Kerenza was a great help taking care of our cat Sushi when we had to be away for the day while she was recovering from surgery with a feeding tube and medication. Her vet training meant that we could depend on her to administer the food and medication properly. It took so much of the stress out of having to be away for the day. I really appreciated Kerenza’s knowledge, reliability, and caring approach and highly recommend her for any pet sitting needs!”

“I can throughly recommend Yeru for looking after your pet. She came and spent an hour of her own time, to meet Mopsy (he doesn’t like strangers) and see if they would get along. He loved her as soon as they met, so I knew he would be okay. I went through everything Yeru needed to know about his care, and felt confident she would be okay with him. She did everything I asked of her, was clean and tidy and respectful of my property. On many days, she also spent longer with him then the 30 minutes that Rover allowed, I can only guess they were having fun together, and lost track of time. From the video and pictures she sent me on a twice daily basis, I could see my dog was happy and well. She’s polite and punctual and a really nice person, and I really hope she will be available the next time I need a pet sitter.”

“Yifan was great, appreciated the updates on the dogs and the photos. They clearly really liked her. Very helpful with how flexible she was meaning we could push back our booking till the evening since were going out later. Great communication and felt very comfortable having her pop in to keep our dogs company for an hour and help them stay cool.”

“Shani looked after our cat for a week, two visits a day. We met up prior to her cat sitting and discussed what we'd like from her. She was very flexible in arriving at early and late times, and was able to undertake additional household tasks too. She updated us thoroughly and regularly during the week, with lots of pictures to keep us reassured. We arrived home to find a happy and playful cat - thank you so much, Shani!”

“Alice and her Partner have been absolutely brilliant. They have looked after Winnie so well, even taken her out for longer and to the Pub for tea with them! They genuinely love your dog like you would want them to and they have handled her well when she can be a bit tricky around Cats! I can’t recommend them enough.”

“Vivian took care of our two cats for 9 days. Throughout this entire period, I received up-to-date information if anything looked disturbing, photos of cats and information about visits. Great communication. When we came back home, we found the cats fed, calm, and the house was clean. She's a fantastic pet sitter. I would highly recommend.”

About: I owned two dogs when I was in Italy. I was responsible for caring for my dog since I was 13. My dog lived 15 years and the second is now 12 but he is in Italy with my sister. We went for walks in the forest and loved going to the park to play with other dogs. I have experience in walking different sizes of dogs. I also have 8 years experience in looking after guinea pigs. I have 2 cats that can be separated from pets boarding in a different room I am currently off work until the middle of July, so I will be at home most of the day. This means I can provide regular walks, plenty of playtime, toilet breaks, feeding, medication if needed, and lots of attention and companionship. Your pet will not be left alone for long periods and will receive consistent care throughout the day. Lots of cuddles and stimulation. Always supervised and have a pet camera. I make sure to follow the pets routine and keep owner up to date with messages and pictures
“Kirsty was happy to come and check in on my puppy at short notice, and seemed to leave him very happy! We were comfortable having Kirsty in the house, and she seemed great around my dog. I will reach out again if required☺️ We also got loads of photos and very detailed feedback as to what happened during the visit.”

“Susan is absolutely lovely - so knowledgeable, reliable and caring. Her calm energy kept our Beagle super relaxed and we were completely at ease while we were away. We got all the important updates and Susan made sure we knew enough to feel comfortable. Ollie really likes her and so do we! Thank you, Susan! Ollie will see you soon :).”

About: After years of looking after my own pets (dogs, cats and rodents) I feel ready to extend my love and care to other animals. I have experience training difficult dogs both big and small, this includes behavioural issues such a resource guarding and settle training. I have devoted much of my time to ensuing my own pets experience the best care possible including a range of enrichment and exercise. I have been a trusted pet sitter to my own family and friends for a good while and feel ready to care for others. I am currently working toward my dog first aid certification. I work part time as a waitress however this is only around 15 hours per week. I also am a silversmith (jewellery) however this is from my home studio and i create my own hours for this. Trust worth, safe walks and drop ins for pets. Every dog I look after i treat as my own. My dog is 14 and doesn’t enjoy big walks anymore, unlike me.
“Have used Mahek a couple of times and she's always been great. She sends us photos of the cats which is reassuring and the cats have seemed calm and happy when we come home. One of ours is very skittish and will hide when anyone comes round, we were very surprised to see a photo of him the second time she came round! Can recommend”

“Sarah is super calm and relaxed, our rescue dog Hazel is a bit anxious around new people but Sarah put her at ease and looked after her for us with plenty of updates and photos. Thanks so much Sarah! xx”

About: We got our first puppy when I was a teenager, she is now almost 12! Last year, I finally got my own puppy, who is 2 years old. I love looking after little puppies and dogs, happy to look after both young and old! I work full time, so would only be able to help on weekends in order to properly give your pet the care it needs. The weekends I’m at home I will spend with your dog. I have a completely secure garden that my puppy enjoys running around and a lovely neighbourhood. I have a secure house that is dog proofed!

Laura is brilliant, reliable, chilling and very good at communicating. The boys love her, especially because they are deaf, so they are happy, and because of the cleanliness she left behind. I’m really pleased and will use Laura again. They even waited for her this morning looking out the window. Aww! 🥰

Leah was an incredible cat sitter and really pleased with the care my cats received. She was really accommodating to our needs and her experience as a sitter really shined through whenever we had any questions. We had never used Rover before and wanted to meet Leah at the house beforehand to show her around and she was happy to oblige. During the booking period Leah was very responsive, sending detailed reports/updates on the cats with each visit along with photos which really helped put my mind at ease. Came back to a clean home and some very happy cats! 100% will book again when we next need a sitter. Highly recommend!!

Hannah was fab. This was the longest we’d left our cats with someone who wasn’t a family member and they took to Hannah very quickly. She was communicative and reliable and did a few additional requests during the booking which was very much appreciated. I would recommend Hannah!

We've used Kit for three holidays now and it's no exaggeration to say that I can't even imagine how any other cat-sitter could be better! For each and every visit she sends an update that is usually one full phone screen of text that tells us what the cats were doing when she arrived, what and how much food they ate and what they were doing when she left! This always comes with lots of photos and videos of her giving time and attention to the cats to make sure that they're happy. Part of our daily routine on holiday now is sitting on a balcony somewhere reading Kit's updates and just being able to relax completely knowing that our fur-babies are safe and happy and we can't thank her enough for that 😊

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
