My partner (who’s also a volunteer foster carer) is home most of the time, although I will be the main carer giver in terms of walking the dog or playing with them. The house has a fenced garden, a spare room for the dog if they prefer, and it’s ideal for dog that doesn’t cope with being alone very well. Except from our bed, doggies are welcome in all around the household.

A typical day
Depending on their energy level, I could take them for routine short walk around the house or parks nearby; or for countryside walks in Derbyshire, which most of our foster dogs enjoyed; or we could just chill at home or play games in the garden.

Pet care experience
I am a Volunteer foster carer for an animal shelter and have taken care of multiple dogs over the last couple years. My experiences mainly focus on small-mid sized dogs, such as Pomeranian, Bichon, Yorkshire terrier, Staffordshire, Doberman, etc. I have a cat myself so I fully understand dogs’ and cats’ everyday needs, I have the right mindset for understanding their behaviours and am equipped with basic training skills.
