“More excellent care from Rebecca! I always appreciate how well she takes care of my cats and makes sure that they get plenty of fuss and play while I’m away! I also so appreciate her making sure they had plenty of water during the heat wave! She makes me so much more comfortable traveling knowing my cats are well looked after!”

“Thank you Dolly for your excellent service and care for our girls. They were both very happy when we returned and Dolly was great and communicated with us on every visit as we requested. Our shy girl even came out for her which is amazing! Will definitely be using Dolly again in future. We didn’t need to worry with our girls in Dolly’s care! ”

“Alice and her Partner have been absolutely brilliant. They have looked after Winnie so well, even taken her out for longer and to the Pub for tea with them! They genuinely love your dog like you would want them to and they have handled her well when she can be a bit tricky around Cats! I can’t recommend them enough.”

“I can throughly recommend Yeru for looking after your pet. She came and spent an hour of her own time, to meet Mopsy (he doesn’t like strangers) and see if they would get along. He loved her as soon as they met, so I knew he would be okay. I went through everything Yeru needed to know about his care, and felt confident she would be okay with him. She did everything I asked of her, was clean and tidy and respectful of my property. On many days, she also spent longer with him then the 30 minutes that Rover allowed, I can only guess they were having fun together, and lost track of time. From the video and pictures she sent me on a twice daily basis, I could see my dog was happy and well. She’s polite and punctual and a really nice person, and I really hope she will be available the next time I need a pet sitter.”

About: After years of looking after my own pets (dogs, cats and rodents) I feel ready to extend my love and care to other animals. I have experience training difficult dogs both big and small, this includes behavioural issues such a resource guarding and settle training. I have devoted much of my time to ensuing my own pets experience the best care possible including a range of enrichment and exercise. I have been a trusted pet sitter to my own family and friends for a good while and feel ready to care for others. I am currently working toward my dog first aid certification. I work part time as a waitress however this is only around 15 hours per week. I also am a silversmith (jewellery) however this is from my home studio and i create my own hours for this. Trust worth, safe walks and drop ins for pets. Every dog I look after i treat as my own. My dog is 14 and doesn’t enjoy big walks anymore, unlike me.
“Have used Mahek a couple of times and she's always been great. She sends us photos of the cats which is reassuring and the cats have seemed calm and happy when we come home. One of ours is very skittish and will hide when anyone comes round, we were very surprised to see a photo of him the second time she came round! Can recommend”

“Emily looked after our cat whilst we were away, and did a great job. Everything was left clean and tidy and even washed the cats bowls etc.. We would definitely recommend Emily and will book her to look after our Puss again.”

“Job has been amazing with my 11 week old pup - she’s always on time for her visits in the week, keeps me updated throughout with photos and videos and keeps my mind at ease. I would highly recommend Jo to anyone!”

About: I've been around dogs for as long as I can remember. Growing up my family would foster rescue dogs, so we often had dogs live with us with complex behavioural and medical needs. My entire adult life I have owned my own pets and have regularly cared for those of my friends and family. I work from home with flexible hours, so will always be around for your pet. They will never be left alone during their stay here. I also take all visiting dogs out with me, such as visiting family or for dinner, so they will get plenty of socialising during their stay. I currently work flexibly from home, so I can meet a dogs needs quite easily and be very adaptable in the care I am able to provide. I have a fenced garden and are right next to the river for plenty of walking. If your dog sleeps upstairs with you, I will replicate this during their stay with me so they feel as comfortable as possible.
About: I have 14 years of experience caring for a Poodle, whom I raised from a puppy until he sadly passed away due to old age. I hope to extend the love I had for him to other dogs and cats. I have extensive experience in caring for young dogs, along with endless love and patience I work from home, which gives me great flexibility throughout the day, allowing me to provide high-standard boarding for dogs and cats in a comfortable home environment. When caring for pets, whether in my home or theirs, I focus on: Safety: I ensure the environment is secure and free from hazards, closely monitoring the pets to keep them safe. Trust: I build a bond with the pets by understanding their needs and preferences, and maintain clear communication with their owners. Environment: I provide a clean, comfortable space with access to play and rest, either by adapting my home or maintaining their familiar surroundings.

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Rushcliffe
Leah was an incredible cat sitter and really pleased with the care my cats received. She was really accommodating to our needs and her experience as a sitter really shined through whenever we had any questions. We had never used Rover before and wanted to meet Leah at the house beforehand to show her around and she was happy to oblige. During the booking period Leah was very responsive, sending detailed reports/updates on the cats with each visit along with photos which really helped put my mind at ease. Came back to a clean home and some very happy cats! 100% will book again when we next need a sitter. Highly recommend!!

Ada and her daughters did a wonderful job of looking after Daisy and Cleo while we were away. Ada's communication was great both at the booking stage and with daily updates during her visits. They put in a lot of effort and care, we would recommend their services and will be using them in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
