This is the 4th time Melissa has looked after Rolo. We get regular videos and photos of their adventures together and it’s so reassuring to know he’s being so well looked after. We trust Melissa with our staffie and our hous and recommend Melissa to look after your dog. (As long as it doesn’t clash when we want to go away 🤣)

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up in a family with a background in dog behaviour and training, so understanding dogs and their individual personalities comes naturally to me. From an early age, I learned how important patience, consistency, and positive interactions are in helping dogs feel happy, secure, and well cared for. I've spent years around dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and temperaments—from energetic puppies who love to play to older dogs who prefer a quieter pace. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each dog's unique personality and making sure they feel comfortable, loved, and cared for while they're with me. I work from home full-time, which means I'm around throughout the day and can give your dog plenty of attention, supervision, companionship, and regular toilet breaks. Your dog will never be left alone for long periods and will always have someone nearby to keep them company. At my home, dogs are treated like part of the family. I have a fully secure, fenced garden where they can safely play, explore, and relax. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles on the sofa, or simply a calm and familiar routine, I'll tailor their care to suit their individual needs. When caring for pets in their own home, I always follow their usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel settled and comfortable. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I take pride in providing reliable, loving care and regular updates so you can enjoy peace of mind while you're away. As I work from home, dogs fit naturally into my daily routine. I'm home throughout the day, so they receive plenty of attention, companionship, regular toilet breaks, playtime, and exercise. Whether your dog enjoys being active or prefers a more relaxed environment, I can adapt to their needs and ensure they feel comfortable, happy, and part of the family while in my care. 🐾 At my place, pets are part of the family! We’ve got a fully fenced garden for them to play safely and plenty of love to go around. When I’m at your home, I stick to your routines so your pet feels happy and comfortable.

About: After Losing My childhood Dog last year I’ve taken to looking after my family and friends pets to fill a void . i’ve completed a level 3 diploma in animal management at college and have a naturally caring nature when it comes to animals. At the moment i’m puppy sitting two puppies weekly including having to care and nurture them overnight. My shipoo (Ronnie) lived a comfortable and happy life until he was 14 years old . This has given me experience looking after a senior dog as he needed many hours of care and attention through his last few months of his life. As i have a big family who all share the same love for pets as me , it’s given me plenty of opportunities over my lifetime to get the confidence i have with dogs . As i currently work as a cook in a nursing home i have had a DBS check :) I do 33 hours in a week and i do them as 3 ,11 hours shifts . my rota cover 4 weeks so its best for me to work on short notice. I work part time and my rota covers 4 weeks so if you’re looking for a pet sitter for a spontaneous weekend away i’m perfect to book. i’m very adaptable and will adjust to any rules you have for your pets . i’m comfortable with the thought of your pet sleeping in the bed or crate. I’m only available for pet sitting at the owners home as i think it’s better and less stressful for your dog to keep in there routines.

AS A PROFESSIONAL CANINE TRAINER I CAN'T RECOMMEND TERRI ENOUGH! My request was far from an average walk in the park, short notice, a dog with a broken leg with post op requirements within my temporary care , a second dog with reactivity issues, separate diet plans, separate walks, along with my own high standards for training schedules etc and a medium length stay I threw this lady in the deep end and she never shyed away for a second! After a quick introduction with the dogs and their routine Terri shined straight away displaying her skill and understanding on how to communicate effectively to both freki and Charlie. She maintained beyond my standards and expectations, kept boundaries I put in place the entire time aswell as fulfilling my furry friends unique and individual needs including working with Charlie's owner my elderly neighbour to aid Charlie's recovery and reduce the separation anxiety he has for his pack of 5 dogs of different breeds. Even though Charlie is naturally cautious of strangers he warned to get instantly and was cuddling on the sofa with her in no time. As for freki she was put to the test with his reactivity having to handle him around joyriding motorbikes and cyclists which are his biggest triggers currently and she did a fantastic job in reenforcing the training in place to aid freki through those triggers. No matter the task she was well prepared and ready to take it on with her treat pouch and poop bags at the ready. For the whole weekend I received regular PUPdates including cute photos of my guys and what they got up to each day which really helped give peace of mind. Terri's professionalism and passion for animal welfare are equal in measure and are of the highest standard. Aside from that Terri is friendly, accommodating, helpful and trustworthy. To ensure an enriching, fulfilling, safe and calm environment for your pets while your away BOOK TERRI TODAY! I will certainly be rebooking on a regular basis 😊

Absolutely lovely lady. Great communication. Looked after our fur babies for the weekend. Came home to a spotless house and some very happy dogs. Even left us a sweet treat to come home to which was a wonderful surprise! Would definitely use Elyscia's services again and would definitely recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Staffordshire Moorlands walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Staffordshire Moorlands choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
