About: I’ve always had dogs growing up, mainly German shepherds, Rottweilers and even tiny dogs like Cavapoos and jack Russell’s, I spend my spare time going on new adventures with my own dog Darcy, I’ve only just started my business but I excel in new challenges like basic training, working on recall and lead pulling so you and your dog can then go on amazing adventures together. Working with puppies is something I’ve always wanted to do aswell as they can pick things up so much quicker and who wouldn’t want to spend there time playing with puppies. I’m currently working Part time so il have loads of time to spend with your animals, which will include fun walks, cuddles and lots of treats. Your animals will be spoilt and will be treated as if they were my own, morning and evening walks for your fur babies, if it’s just cats then it will include playing around the house with toys, plenty of cuddles and affection. They will never be left for longer than 3-4 hours Il be offering pet sitting at owners homes so will follow all instructions that you leave for your fur babies to be looked after, whether that’s daily medication at specific times, vet visits, il make sure we stick to your animals normal routines so they don’t feel too much of a change, they’ll be treated as if they were my own animals and will get lots of attention and mental stimulation
“Stuart was absolutely fantastic with Ozzy. He offered to come and meet him the week before the sit, so Ozzy could get to know him first, which was really helpful, as Ozzy is really anxious and unsure of new people. This made him a lot more relaxed and comfortable when Stuart came to look after him as they had already met. He took Ozzy on a long walk, and also bought poo bags - as I forgot to leave some out for him 🤦🏼♀️ Would definitely use Stuart again to sit Ozzy and would highly recommend him!”

“Michelle was amazing with my 2 miniature dachshunds, my youngest can be funny with new people but he instantly took a shine to her. My oldest has had 2 spinal surgeries and so requires a little extra care but this was no issue! Would highly recommend Michelle, I’m booking her again later in the year. Thanks Michelle 🤩”

“Jess was fantastic x. Jessie is a dog that likes lots of walks and playtime and Jess was great with her x. She also left my house lovely and tidy. I would highly recommend Jess she is extremely personable, reliable and amicable. Jessie being a border collie likes lots of attention and Jess gave her this - she was very happy when we got home too x”

“The dogs were all very happy having Lauren around to look after them. Dennis Spaniel can be a little tricky but Lauren was happy to manage him following my instructions and after a long walk together he flaked out.”
“Totally trusted Torrie with my dog, she was really quick to respond to messages and meet and greet, she took care of him amazingly and sent updates. I was really grateful to leave my dog with someone so genuine and would highly recommend. My dog looked really happy and comfortable when I got home and it’s obvious that Torrie cares about animals deeply.”

Whilst I am not ready to have any more dogs of my own, I miss having dogs around and I’m in the ideal position to be able to look after your dog/dogs here in the Peak District. I’m offering a bespoke dog boarding, day care, tailored to your dogs requirements. Rest assured that your dog will be on a holiday of its own with me. “Ellie and Adis took care of our two huskies and my parents Labrador so we could enjoy a long weekend in Europe all together. They took great care of all three pups and it was so lovely to all be away together which is something we’ve not done since we all got dogs nearly 8 years ago! Would highly recommend Ellie and hope to book another trip so the pups get to see them again!”

About: As a Registered Veterinary Nurse with over 10 years of experience, I bring a level of professional knowledge and reassurance that many standard pet sitters simply can’t offer 🩺🐾 Working in veterinary practice means I am highly experienced in animal behaviour, handling and recognising subtle changes in a pet’s health or wellbeing. Your pet’s safety, comfort and happiness will always be my top priority. I am trained in fear-free handling, meaning I focus on creating calm and positive experiences for pets, especially those who may feel nervous, shy or anxious around new people or environments 🤍🐶🐱 I am also an ISFM Cat Friendly Advocate and have completed additional training in cat-friendly handling, allowing me to provide gentle, stress-aware care for feline companions 🐱✨ What really makes my service different is the combination of clinical knowledge and genuine love for animals. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. Alongside my professional experience, I’m also a proud dog mum to my Basset Hound Rosie, who reminds me every day how special the bond between pets and their owners truly is 🐶💚 When your pet is in my care, you can feel confident knowing they are with someone who is qualified, experienced and truly passionate about animal welfare. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine as animals have always been a huge part of my life. Alongside running my pet care services, I also work part-time as a Registered Veterinary Nurse during the week, which allows me to maintain my clinical skills while still offering flexible and reliable pet sitting and drop-in visits. Because I work part-time shifts, I’m able to plan my schedule carefully to ensure pets in my care receive the time, attention and routine they need 🐶🐱 On days I am not in practice, I have much greater flexibility for longer visits, pet sitting, walks and check-ins. When I do have a shift, I ensure visits are scheduled around my working hours so pets are never left without the care and companionship they deserve. Being a veterinary nurse also means I’m very used to structured routines and planning ahead, so you can feel confident that your pet’s feeding times, walks, medication and daily routine will always be followed carefully 🩺🐾 Caring for animals is something I genuinely love, so spending my free time looking after pets fits perfectly into my lifestyle 🤍 Your pet’s safety and wellbeing will always be my highest priority 🤍 As a Registered Veterinary Nurse with over 10 years of experience, I am trained to recognise changes in behaviour, health and wellbeing, giving owners extra reassurance while their pets are in my care. I take the time to get to know each pet’s personality, routine and individual needs so they feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. Whether your pet is playful and energetic or shy and cautious, I adapt my approach to ensure they feel safe and relaxed. I am passionate about fear-free handling, meaning I always aim to minimise stress and create calm, positive experiences for pets. This is especially important for nervous animals or those who may struggle with new environments. I will always respect your home and your pet’s usual routine — following feeding schedules, walk routines and medication instructions carefully 🐶🐱 As a pet owner myself, I know how important trust is when leaving your pet with someone new. That’s why I treat every animal with the same level of care, patience and compassion as I would my own 🐾💚 You can relax knowing your pet is being looked after by someone qualified, experienced and genuinely passionate about animal welfare.
About: What sets me apart is my formal education in zoology combined with hands-on experience in the animal sector. I understand animal behavior, body language, and welfare on a deeper level than the average sitter, allowing me to tailor care to each dog’s individual needs. I’m attentive, knowledgeable, and calm in a variety of situations—whether that’s caring for energetic puppies, senior dogs, or pets that need a little extra patience and understanding. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to spend plenty of time caring for and engaging with your dog throughout the day. Attentive, hands-on care for your beloved pet. I aim to create a safe, calm, and trusting environment where dogs can feel relaxed and secure (your dog’s home away from home). My background in zoology and animal care means I’m confident reading behaviour, managing routines, and prioritising welfare at all times. I follow care instructions closely, maintain consistent boundaries, and always put your dog’s safety and comfort first, treating them with the same care and respect I would my own.

About: I have looked after several friend and family members’ dogs and cats whilst they have gone away on holiday, either staying in their home or dropping in for visits. For the last 4 years I have volunteered at an animal assisted intervention organisation, which takes dogs and small animals to schools and hospitals for outreach visits. This involves assessing the animals body language, responding to their cues and ensuring they are relaxed and comfortable. I believe this would be a vital skill for looking after your pet. When I lived in Edinburgh, I worked with a charity that volunteers to walk people’s dogs who find it difficult to get out and keep their dog exercised. I love hiking, getting out in nature and seeing dogs enjoy the outdoors too. I volunteer on a Monday and Friday, for a full or half day depending on the week, however I have lunch free. Outreaches finish at 4 at the latest, so I would be available after this to feed, exercise or play with your pet, and stay overnight if needed. On other days, my commitments are small and take an hour or two out of my day at most. I am flexible - I can stay in your home full time, drop by for shorter periods, and/or stay overnight. Just detail what best suits you and I will endeavour to meet your pet’s needs.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in High Peak choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
