“Caryn was kind and professional from the moment we met her. Our whippet, Betty took to her straight away. Caryn sent us regular updates of both Betty and our Cat, Pickles whilst we were away. Knowing they were both well cared for helped us to relax and enjoy our holiday. Caryn left our home absolutely spotless. She also washed our bedding (and made up the bed), washed the towels she’d used and folded our laundry ready for when we got home - this was much appreciated after a long journey. We shall definitely use Caryn again and can highly recommend her service.”

“Arlete stayed in our house looking after Margo, our two year old cocker poo. Arlete is a very lovely lady, the house was spotless and the dog very happy on our return. I would have no hesitation to recommending her and hopefully she will be available to look after the dog again next time we go away.”

About: What sets me apart is a lifetime of hands-on experience with a wide range of animals. I’ve grown up caring for cats, dogs, and even reptiles, so I’m comfortable adapting to different temperaments, routines, and needs. I’m especially confident with young pets, helping reinforce basic training, good habits, and consistent routines. I also provide attentive senior care, making sure older pets are comfortable, supported, and given the extra patience they need. Above all, I treat every pet as an individual—paying close attention to their personality, behaviour, and wellbeing so they feel safe and cared for while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I work 9–5, so I’m available for morning visits before work and evening visits afterwards, making sure pets are fed, exercised, and comfortable at the start and end of each day. On weekdays, I plan my schedule so each pet gets consistent care and attention, and I’m fully available for longer visits, drop-ins, or overnight stays during evenings. On weekends, I have much more flexibility, so I can offer extended care, multiple visits, or more time with your pet. I always make sure pets’ routines are followed closely, so they feel settled and well looked after even when their owners are away. Always happy to discuss in more details I tailor my care depending on the service and what each pet is used to, so they feel as comfortable and stress-free as possible. In a pet owner’s home, I stick closely to your pet’s normal routine—feeding, fresh water, cleaning (including litter trays), exercise, and playtime. I take time to understand their personality, whether they’re energetic, shy, or independent, and make sure they get the right level of attention. I’m especially mindful of keeping their environment calm and familiar, which is important for cats and more sensitive pets like reptiles. I can also provide updates and photos so you know how they’re doing while you’re away. If caring in my home (if applicable), I create a safe, clean, and quiet environment where pets can settle in comfortably. I keep routines consistent, supervise them closely, and make sure they have plenty of enrichment, attention, and rest. I’m careful to introduce any new environment gradually, especially for more delicate or routine-driven animals. We have a fenced garden Across both settings, I focus on reliability, cleanliness, and making sure every pet feels secure, well cared for, and treated like my own.
About: About Us: We’re a couple in our 20's based in Stone, Staffordshire. We’ve grown up around dogs and other pets and treat every animal in our care as if they were our own. I also volunteer at a local animal shelter, which has given me hands-on experience with dogs of different breeds, ages, and temperaments. Pets are welcome to roam freely around the house and settle in as part of the family (all furniture allowed!). We love spending time outdoors and regularly explore local walks and hikes, including the Peak District, so we’re happy to offer stimulating walks and adventures where suitable. Alongside dogs, we’re also comfortable caring for other animals, including cats and small pets. You can expect: loving care, regular updates, and complete peace of mind. We both work hybrid roles, meaning we have a good mix of home and office working. This allows us to be flexible dependant on your needs. We live in a 3-bedroom home with a fully fenced secure garden, giving plenty of space to relax and play. With no children or pets, your pet will get our full attention and a calm, comfortable environment.
“Charley is everything you want in a sitter and more!! It was clear at the Meet and Greet that they were going to get on and the happy dog that greeted us on our return proved that! She was a well looked after dog and the house was spotless! Such care had clearly been taken and I can’t thank Charley enough for that, along with the updates and photos. I’m hoping that she will be available for our next break too! Thank you Charley xx”

About: I understand that every pet is different, so I take the time to learn their routine, personality, and individual needs to help them feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible while you're away. I'm patient, reliable, and treat every animal as if they were my own. I have experience caring for rabbits, guinea pigs, cats, dogs the most, as well as sub-tropical and coldwater aquarium fish. I'm happy to administer oral medication when needed, maintain feeding and cleaning routines, and provide regular updates with photos for your peace of mind. I'm comfortable caring for both young and senior pets, adapting my approach to suit their energy levels and any additional care they require. Whether that's keeping up with an energetic puppy's routine or giving an older pet a slower-paced, gentle day, I always prioritise their wellbeing, safety, and happiness. I currently work full-time, with two shorter days finishing at 4:00 pm and three longer days finishing by 6:30 pm. My schedule is flexible, allowing me to adapt my availability to suit your pet's routine and individual needs. My weekends are often spent with friends' and family's furry companions, enjoying walks and adventures around Cannock Chase, the Peak District, and other local woodland trails. I have previously lived life as a "cat servant" to two bonded rescue littermates who I've cared for over five years, recently moving from living with family to mine and my husbands first home together. Living and loving them has taught me that every cat has their own personality, and that a well-timed chin scratch can go a long way once trust has been earned! For repeat clients, once both you, and your pets are comfortable with me, I'm happy to offer house sitting. I can adjust my work schedule where possible to ensure your pets receive the time, care, and attention they deserve while you're away, keeping them company overnight if they aren't used to being left alone. 🦎🐕🐈⬛🐈🐟 Every pet is unique, and you know your beloved companion better than anyone. I always follow your instructions carefully to keep your pet's routine as familiar and stress-free as possible, whether that's feeding schedules, exercise, enrichment, medication, or any other specific care requirements, yes even a blanket placed a certain way! For dogs, I tailor walks and exercise to their age, breed, energy levels, and your preferences. I have access to a private, secure dog walking area in a peaceful rural setting, allowing your dog the chance to bound around without the risk of them adventuring too far. For cats, I understand that every cat has a different personality. Whether they prefer quiet company, interactive play, or simply someone to keep their routine consistent, I'll care for them at their own pace while ensuring litter trays, feeding, fresh water, and enrichment are all taken care of. I'm also experienced caring for rabbits and a variety of small exotic pets, including leopard geckos, axolotls, and tropical and coldwater fish. I'll follow your care instructions precisely, ensuring habitats are kept clean, feeding routines are maintained, and any medications or specialist care are provided correctly. When I'm caring for your much loved animals in your space, my priority is always to make them feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you're away.

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life — my family have two beautiful Cavapoos, the loves of my life! One is a puppy and the other is five years old, so I've genuinely experienced both ends of the spectrum — the chaos and joy of puppyhood, and the lovely settled rhythm of a dog in their prime. That means I really get it when it comes to puppies — the energy, the need for reassurance, and the importance of keeping things consistent and calm. And with older dogs, I know how to keep them happy, comfortable, and well-exercised at their own pace. I love looking after multiple dogs at once — the more the merrier as far as I'm concerned! I also naturally weave basic training into my time with every dog, keeping good habits going while you're away. I genuinely love dogs and it shows — your pup will be in warm, caring hands with someone who truly gets it. I am currently working part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I am available for daytime, evening, and weekend house-sitting, and I can adapt my routine to suit your pet’s needs. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, regular playtime, or simply having company throughout the day, I am able to provide reliable and attentive care while maintaining their usual routine as closely as possible. When house-sitting in a pet owner’s home, I prioritise maintaining a safe, calm, and familiar environment for your pet. I understand that pets are often most comfortable in their own surroundings, so I aim to keep their routine consistent, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any specific care requirements. I am respectful of your home and will ensure it is kept clean, secure, and well looked after during my stay. I provide regular updates and photos for peace of mind, and I always take the time to build trust with each pet, ensuring they feel comfortable, happy, and cared for while you are away.

About: I'm a fifth-year veterinary student and have been caring for family pets for around 5 years now. Through both pet sitting and looking after my own animals, I've gained experience with pets of different ages, sizes, and personalities. I'm comfortable caring for puppies, senior pets, and pets with specific routines. I treat every animal as if they were my own and always aim to make them feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away. I'm currently a student, so my availability varies throughout the week. I generally have weekends free and can often accommodate evening visits. I'm happy to discuss your needs and will do my best to adjust my schedule where possible to fit around your pet's routine I always aim to keep pets comfortable by following their usual routine as closely as possible. In an owner's home, I make sure pets have plenty of attention, exercise, enrichment, and a safe environment while respecting any specific instructions provided. I understand that every pet is different and adapt my approach to suit their individual personality and needs. Regular updates and photos can also be provided for peace of mind.

I can’t wait to meet you and your furry friend! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Over the years, I’ve learned how to care for dogs of all kinds—not just the happy, healthy ones, but also those who need a little extra attention. I live with Evie, my beautiful Olde English Bulldog, who’s been by my side since she was a pup. She’s now 5 and full of personality. Evie’s had her own health ups and downs, so I understand how important it is to be patient, gentle, and responsive to a dog’s individual needs. She’s neutered, well-mannered, and used to being around other dogs. As a registered nurse and mum of two, I’m naturally attentive and nurturing, and I bring that same care into how I look after animals. I’ve been around dogs my whole life and genuinely love spending time with them—whether it’s a cuddle on the sofa or a walk through the woods. I’m home most of the time, and with plenty of lovely walking spots nearby, I make sure dogs get fresh air, exercise, and companionship throughout the day. I treat every dog like family—with love, patience, and a calm, safe environment where they can feel right at home. I currently work part-time, which means I have plenty of free time to devote to your pup’s needs. My flexible routine allows for long walks, playtime, and lots of cuddles throughout the day. I’m available for boarding both during weekdays and weekends, ensuring your dog has companionship and care while you’re away. Dogs truly fit into my everyday routine, as I'm used to building our day around Evie and her needs. I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and part of the family. Whether it’s keeping them on their routine, providing medication if needed, or giving them cosy spots to rest, I always prioritise their well-being. Your pup will be cared for as if they were my own—getting plenty of love, play, and attention in a calm, safe environment.

About: I am a second year veterinary student with a lifelong passion for animals and hands-on-experience caring for a wide range of pets. Growing up with animals, I have trained my own dogs and regularly care for family, friends and neighbours dogs. Through my veterinary studies, I have developed knowledge of animal behaviour, handling, health and welfare allowing me to easily spot if any health issues arise in your pet. I have also completed placements at a dog and cat boarding kennel and an animal rescue centre giving me practical experience working with animals of different ages, temperaments and needs. I provide reliable and compassionate care, treating every pet as if they were my own. I have recently completed my second year of veterinary studies and am available for pet care from now until 28th September. My schedule is highly flexible including week days and weekends allowing me to accommodate a wide range of pet care needs. Please note that I have veterinary placement commitments during the weeks commencing 17th august and 24th august 2026. During these two weeks, I will be available on weekday evenings after 6pm and throughout the weekends. Outside of these dates, I am available throughout the day and can offer a high degree of flexibility to suit owners schedules. When caring for pets in their own home, I prioritise maintaining their usual routine to help them feel comfortable and secure while their owners are away. I follow all instructions provided regarding feeding, exercise medication and any specific care requirements ensuring each pet receives attentive and individual care. I take the time to provide companionship, enrichment and exercise appropriate to the pets needs while monitoring their health and wellbeing. As a veterinary student, I am familiar with animal behaviour allowing me to recognise signs of stress, illness or discomfort and respond appropriately. I also treat owners houses with respect, keeping the area clean and tidy and providing regular updates and photos for peace of mind. My aim is to ensure both pets and owners feel relaxed and confident throughout the pet sitting experience.
“Antonia arrived on time and even gave me an ETA on when she would arrive, which I thought was amazing. Our dog settled really well with her and when I got back I found my dog asleep right by Antonia’s feet, which was so lovely to see and very reassuring. She gave Treacle her medicine on time. Antonia is a very friendly lady and cared greatly for my precious girl. Thankyou so much. The only thing I would recommend would be updates of her movements during the day. It would have been nice to have a message to say she’d had her medicine ok. Other than that I can’t fault her care with this lovely lady. We would definitely book her again should I have another dog, unfortunately our girl passed away 3 days later.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience using a pet sitter! Alice was absolutely wonderful! So kind, attentive and clearly loves what she does. Throughout the stay we received plenty of updates and photos which helped us relax while we were away. It was so lovely seeing how happy and well cared for our puppy Chase was. She truly went above and beyond! Not only was our home left spotless but she even washed the bedsheets which we never expected and really appreciated. We’re so grateful for everything she’s done and wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommend! We’re very happy, thank you Alice!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Stafford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Stafford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
